  1. Nothing to worry about. That's normal. It happens on my server as well.
  2. Is this on a dedicated server? Do you stop the server before editing the ini files? If you edit them while the server is running, the changes are ignored and get over-written.
  3. The problem with having big names attached to games is that they take big money which would be better spent on developers 😞
  4. Are your maps all running directly on your server, or are you using VMs?
  5. Your router needs to support nat-loopback - some do, some don't, and some need it to be enabled. These errors are normal. I get them and can connect to my server (on the same LAN) without a problem. [2023.07.16-02.15.00:626][]SteamSocketsOpenSource: gethostname failed () [2023.07.16-02.15.00:626][]gethostbyname failed () Your startup commands look ok, but you might want to specify a cluster directory... -ClusterDirOverride=\ArkServer\ShooterGame\Saved\ClusterDir You could also consider using a whitelist if you only want specific people to be able to connect. I find that passwords can get in the way of transferring between maps on a cluster.
  6. Hi Mirage. That sounds interesting... I'm normally reluctant to install Discord bot stuff because it's impossible to know how trustworthy the authors are. No worries here though 🙂 I suspect integration with the output from ASV would be interesting for lots of players on unofficial. I have a script that converts your json output into html - but a Discord bot might be easier for the players.
  7. If it's not working for other people, double check your port-forwarding.
  8. 1. Your router needs to support loopback for you to be able to join. 2. There should be only one cluster directory - all your maps need to point to this one. 3. Each map should have it's own save directory. Check your "ScorchedEarth" directory to see if it has a save file. 4. Port numbers should be separated by 2. ScorchedEarth has 7777, so (for example) TheIsland could have 7779. 5. You should use port-forwarding on your router, to forward ports 7777 onwards and 27015 onwards to your server's local IP address. 6. Transferring between maps used to be a problem when using passwords. I don't know if that's still the case. Whitelisting is easier/better if you know everyone's Steam IDs.
  9. Use -Activeevent=FearEvolved on the command line. AFAIK, unofficial servers still get the event dino colours, but don't get the event items.
  10. It's not unusual for there to be a difference in the minor part of the version number (between server and client). So long as both server and client have the same major version (358 in this case), you should be able to join.
  11. It seems that ASA is diverging from ASE with every announcement. Why not simply merge ASA and Ark 2 into a single game - I'll bet you're sharing assets between the two already.
  12. Does anyone have the details for the Rhyniognatha spawn regions on The Island and Lost Island please? I'd like to increase the chances of having a Rhynio spawn. Thanks.
  13. I agree. ASV has been absolutely brilliant, and I really appreciate MirageUK's time and responsiveness for updates and fixes.
  14. Only if you have a copy of the save file.
  15. Have you double-checked the port-forwarding on your router?
  16. I'm guessing you're using Linux. Unfortunately, the Linux updates often arrive some time after the Windoze updates 😞
  17. Island and Lost Island on my server. Around 66, 40 on both maps.
  18. Imagine how big the patch would be if the Rhynio were available on every map 🙂 All the maps would have to be updated !
  19. Unofficial server, with unmodified spawn regions. I'm seeing just the one on the Island and one on Lost Island. Island 66,40 Lost Island 66,42
  20. The Ark situation is puzzling... Why have Microsoft not allowed Steam/EPIC Ark to crossplay with Win10/Xbox Ark? It can't be mods because EPIC players can crossplay with non-modded Steam players.
  21. Why wasn't it just patched? I can't see a benefit to having an optional command line switch.
  22. Hi All. The latest patch notes say a new command line switch has been added. Does anyone know what it actually does or prevents, and what is the "creature upload issue" ?
  23. As far as I understand the situation, it was Microsoft and Sony who wouldn't allow XBox and Playstation users to join in with each other and Steam and EPIC users. If all ASA players will be allowed to join a common server (regardless of platform), then I would like WildCard to implement a server switch so unofficial server owners could allow or disallow XBox and PS players. It will be interesting to see if Microsoft and Sony allow mods on the consoles.
  24. 1. If you have more than one map, have you spaced your port numbers out? For example: TheIsland might be port 7777, QueryPort 27100 and Ragnarok might be port 7779, QueryPort 27102 2. Also check your port-forwarding. In the above example, ports 7777,7778,7779,7780, 27100, 27101, 27102, 27103 would need to be forwarded as UDP to your server. 3. Check that the firewall isn't blocking the ShooterGame.exe 4. Check that your ISP's router supports NAT-Loopback. VirginMedia in the UK did a stealth removal of NAT-Loopback a few years back. I had to purchase a different router and switch theirs to Modem-Mode.
