Foundation support bug?

Built building A on beach extending into water. Ran foundations further out into the water from building A and made building B. Built ceilings above the foundations I ran between A and B. Remove a single foundation in the chain between A and B and building B loses all of it's foundation support in spite of being built on foundations? Am I missing something? ASA, btw.

Hi, have you tried fitting a pillar into the lowest snap of the foundation? towards building B

I can get support off pillars If I place them on the foundations, but even removing the foundations and snapping them back to the newly placed pillars the foundations give no support. In trying to keep the floors of my two buildings level with one another I ended up with half a wall height difference between what would be my bottom floor on B and the foundations for B. Placing a quarter wall allowed me to get support from a foundation, so I guess it just doesn't like the half-wall gap.

From your description it sounds like some of the foundations weren't really "attached" to the ground but were instead snapped to the foundations that you started with. Foundation support in ARK can be wonky at times.

It might help if you post a screenshot.

That's certainly how it feels. Not the best screenshot, but you can see there is a foundation under where I'm trying to place the wall, the walls and ceiling you see are supported by a pillar at the corner behind me, it's just a little 3x3.

I tried running the foundations from different spots and taking different paths. Can't right now but before too long I'll get on and try a couple more paths, will also try to replicate the "gap problem" on land on foundations that aren't acting weird.

I must be confused or just misremembering. I could've sworn before (on evolved) that you could remove the middle foundations from this and still have support on the left side. Doesn't seem to be the case anymore if it ever was. Quarter wall solves my problems temporarily at least, but with what I have planned I feel like I'm going to be running into more inconvenient height differences. Swear the old rule was you have support if you have a foundation anywhere below. Anyways, thanks for the help and suggestions.
