Giant Bat

Some type of giant bat that you can ride.

Could share the mechanics of Snow Owl/ Rock Drake/ Tapejara.

Flies and moves like Snow Owl

Can cling to walls like Tapej

Can climb walls/ceilings(slowly) like a rock drake.

Has some sort of sonar ability

and gives viruses!

If a Giant Bat were to be added, it shouldn't just rip from other creatures like this.

Aggressive

Spawns in ????????(Not sure of any good biomes for this, maybe the Eldritch biome on Crystal Isles)

 

Giant Bats are aggressive carnivores that hang from any natural structures sleeping during the day and become murderous beasts of nightmare at night. During the day, Bats can still be threatening, being about as strong as an Argentavis of equal level, but at night they can even outclass Wyverns in power and speed(Bats don't HAVE to sleep like the Megalosaur, they simply chose to).

The Giant Bat has two separate attacks, a melee attack that drains health on contact(5% of damage done) and a sonar scream that deals heavy damage and stuns small and medium creatures during the day and large creatures at night. This stun dismounts riders, meaning wild and tamed bats are frightening opponents to unprepared survivors, however it is on a minute long cooldown, so this attack should be used sparingly. Due to their structure, Giant Bats cannot pick up other creatures, but they do have the Echolocation Pulse, a pulse that highlights any creatures that are moving(Walking, sprinting, swimming, or flying, idle creatures are not detected. Creatures that stop moving remain highlighted for the duration of the pulse).

To tame a Giant Bat, you must KO them and feed them Blood Bags or Extraordinary Kibble. When tamed, Bats can be outfitted with a two person saddle. While they can land on the ground, Bats regenerate health, gain stamina, and lose torpor faster when hanging from natural or man-made ceilings. They must also do this to breed, meaning you may need to make a hangar of sorts for your bats. Baby Bats will take meat for food, but may ask for Blood Bags during Imprinting. 

In general, the Bat is between the Argentavis and Wyvern in terms of power, as it is only uberstrong during the night, whereas Wyverns are always powerful. Being usable during the day prevents them from being entirely niche like the Megalosaur, and would certainly help it in terms of usefulness.
