  1. As a person who studies (Not Professionally, yet) Marine Biology as a spare time. I would love there to be a Huge Water Dino Update. I can't stress this enough, the Waters of Ark are very Bleak, lifeless and depressing. I would love there to be more variety of Prehistoric Sharks, Whales, Cephalopod/Mollusca, Marine Reptiles and Other forms of Prehistoric Fish. Also update some of the existing Water Dinos of the Ark. The Ocean is one of the least captured parts in video games and it really saddens me. Even add just litle Ambient fish that you cant tame but you see swim in the ocean. It would just breathe new life into the game. Im pretty sure theres alot of people who agree to some degree with me.
  2. Pearls! Can't live with them, can't live without them, am I right? Pearl farming is annoying, and can be dangerous. The only way to get pearls in Ark is to collect them, one by one, by hand, or to venture into Megalodon- and who knows what else-infested waters to kill trilobites. And don't even get me started on black pearls! So, what I present to the folks here at Survivetheark.com is my suggestion for the brand new, shiny, Nordic-inspired map, Fjordur, is a way to not only collect pearls without risking life and limb constantly, but by farming them from the safety of one's own base! Straight out of The Golden Age of Dinosaurs, from a time spanning from the Jurassic all the way to the KT Extinction Event of the Late Cretaceous... Platyceramus!!! Please, hold your applause. That's right, for the first time in Ark history, an animal which spends most of it's time... doing absolutely nothing but sucking up water. This isn't your average critter from the Isle! Platyceramus was a giant bivalve, with two bivalve shells ranging in size from 12 inches to 140 inches in diameter, Platyceramus represents one of the, if not the, largest bivalves in Earth History! What's more, as a bivalve clam, every species in the Platyceramus genera produced pearls! That's right, Pearls! Those things you need for the late game! Here's how this works! You, a brand-new survivor of the Ark, go to the beach and... Pick up a clam! Then, you take it to your brand new base location, and... put the clam in the water near your base! Voila! It's really that simple! However! As most bivalves, if not all bivalves, are filter-feeders, that clam will starve in it's new environment if you do not provide it with... fish poop! That's right, you will have to figure out a way to transport fish from one body of water, to another (using the fish trap!), so that the baby Platyceramus has something to feed upon! That is how you keep the clam alive. Of course, everyone knows that clams don't just produce pearls from nothing... So, if you go out and pick some stones up off the beach, and stuff them into this animal's inventory, they will start converting it into the beautiful, pearly stones you need to make your lovely platform saddles and various other things requiring Silica Pearls. And that's not all! Throw some obsidian in there, and the clam will begin to produce those tasty, tasty Black Pearls. And so, that is my creature suggestion for Fjordur! This has been Ynddiduedd, provider of Ark Animal suggestions nobody wants since 2019~!
  3. EDIT: 11/7 I understand that Helicoprion as well as a lot of other creatures are being worked on by Garuga for Ark Additions. While that mod may exist, there are people that play on console and official that do not have access to these creatures. I think gatekeeping an animal is stupid. A creature should only be frowned upon once it is advertised as being the exact creature in a mod, like last vote's fiasco with Garuga's Acro. Helicoprion was a medium-large to large shark relative from the Permian period that went extinct during the Great Dying mass extinction. It has a circular tooth whorl on its bottom jaw and used it to cut and tear its prey. They were most likely loners, but came together in breeding grounds during their mating season. Helicoprion's closest living relative is the Ratfish, or Chimera, which is a small, cute shark relative. Helicoprion would be much faster than the Megalodon, and would give a bleed status affect. It would be a great harvester of organic polymer, hide, and keratin. I think it should have a pack boost capping at +4 other Helicoprion, and be slightly faster than the Megalodon. It would have a leap movement, and a "suffocation" meter so it can flop around on land for a short time, to drag Kairuku down to the depths (hence organic polymer harvester). To tame it you would either need Tusoteuthis Tentacles, as suggested in the old thread in the first vote, or organic polymer. Tentacles would act as "kibble" while polymer is their "prime fish". They can also be tamed with regular fish and prime fish, however it would take stacks and a very long time, on top of losing taming effectiveness Art: ARK's Helicoprion would look more similar to a Chimera rather than a shark like Megalodon or a modern slim shark like the tiger or blacktip shark. Its patterning is also reminiscent of a Chimera.

  9. Yes this post is for real-world Creatures... but. There is no mythological creature in the sea yet. I propose the Jormungandr, legendary sea serpent. Could be similar to the Basilisk in appearance to keep things simpler. "Sailors and survivors traversing the deepest parts of the oceans tell tales of desperation and despair when they're angered the mighty Sea Serpent. The tales call them by many names. Jormungandr, The World Serpent, even Pure Evil. If the creatures thrashing didn't destroy their hopes, its scalding breath finished them off. There was even a tale of one seen on land. This must be a hoax. Jormungandr can not be tamed or reasoned with. Many headstrong fools have tried. The only way to gain the powerful serpent in your ranks is to steal the eggs that they leave in the deep trenches. Not an easy task, especially when the eggs are said to be securely fastened to the ground. Perhaps one could be knocked free, but good luck working once you've enraged the beasts around you." Appearance: As I said, this could be similar to the Basilisk to make things easier, but with water webbing, and even small webbed fins/flippers along their flanks that move when they slither, making them appear to propel them. The lights below the scales in the image below could glow as the breath attack is powering up. Large eggs that require being broken from the wall or ground of the ocean trenches would add an extra level of difficulty with obtaining. Then needing to be in water for incubation. Actions: Fast swimming in the water. Has the ability to come on land and slither along the ground, but like the oxygen stat for survivors in the water, their oxygen stat is for water breathing, which counts down for around 3-5 minutes before needing water again. (level up oxygen stat) A leap ability, where the creature coils up then bursts forward allows it to jump great distances, i.e to leap out of the water, or to cover the land quickly in search of water again before the timer runs out. Hitting another survivor or creature with the leap will add impact damage but also a stun affect for 10 seconds. (level up speed and stamina stat)) Breath attack super heats up the water in a direct line in front of the serpents mouth, similar to the lightning wyvern in distance. (level up damage stat) Saddle: making the serpent need a saddle will allow for a glass capsule to hold oxygen for the survivor. Up to 3 survivors can ride the saddle at once.
