  1. Gorgonopsids, named after the Gorgon of Greek myth, were a group of predatory stem-mammals that lived before the dinosaurs during the Permian period. Related to Purlovia, they were the top predators of their time. Also, if you did not know. This is the ONLY creature ARK has confirmed to appear that never did. Back in ARK’s early days there was a list of all the creatures they planned to add on Steam. All of the creatures on that list were added eventually, with the exception of the Gorgonopsid. The gorgonopsid used to share this title of “Forgotten Creature” with the Giant Crab, but Karkinos has been added in Aberration. In-game Name: Gorgonopsid Dossier Statistics - Species: Inostrancevia ______________ Time: Late Permian Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive It is a mid-tier tame, being a decently powerful mount similar in scale to Thylacoleo. However, the gorgonopsid also has a very specific but incredibly useful ability. This gorgonopsid would have the strongest sense of smell on the ARK, able to use its nose for a variety of different uses. Ability 1: Tracking By holding the sniffing ability, a crosshair will appear on the rider’s screen. When released onto a creature in sight, regardless of what it is, where it is, or who it belongs to, the Gorgonopsid will be able to tell its general direction, allowing the rider to track this creature across the map, regardless of its location. This can act as a more organic form of the transponder, as you could give the gorgonopsid the scent of your flyer before you travel. In the event you die but your flyer lives and buzzed off somewhere unknown, you can take out your gorgonopsid to find it. This also has utility in PvP, since this ability can identify and track enemies from a far distance without their knowledge, for the most part. Players will be completely unaware of their tames being tracked, but players will be notified if a gorgonopsid is specifically tracking their character. Another counter is that gorgonopsids lose the scent if the creature they’re tracking is put into a cryopod. Gorgonopsids will remember their last scent if they themselves are put in cryopods, however. Ability 2: High-Level Tame Finding While there are creatures like the glow pets that have the ability to detect high level creatures in the area, gorgonopsids have a similar ability that is more direct. When using this ability, the gorgonopsid will show the direction of the highest level creature within a certain radius of itself, and is highlighted to the rider upon being viewed directly. This ability can be refreshed by using the ability again, and the target will change if a higher level creature has moved within range. Ability 3: Wounding Bite With a particularly powerful bite of its saber teeth, the Gorgonopsid leaves a wound upon the creature it attacked. This does not act like the bleed status, but it does give the gorgonopsid a much stronger scent to follow, allowing the rider to track the creature with much better accuracy than merely gaining the scent from afar. On top of this, since the Gorgonopsid has a much stronger scent from the wound, it allows the rider to see the stats of the wounded creature, akin to an organic and more widespread form of the HLN-A. This would be invaluable when looking to tame certain creatures or scouting for weaknesses in the mist of a battle. Bonus Ability Proposal: Sensory Support Acting as a companion to other tames, the gorgonopsid could greatly extend the range of nearby creatures with similar sensory abilities, like those of the Fjordhawk, Parasaur, Dire Wolves, Troodon, and others. Community Suggested Abilities: -Able to sniff out explosives and other hazards. -Able to sniff out explorer notes (A suggestion by the Myotragus creator. Shoutout to Myotragus!) -High Jump to aid in exploration and tracking across rough terrain -Armor Piercing or bleed due to its saber teeth -Senses and warns of creatures in ambush (Thylacoleo/Purlovia). -A stealth ability to sneak up on or sneak past creatures and tames. -Other ways of tracking: -Using the scent of eggs/tames/dermis to be able to track specific species of creatures in the wild -Using the scent of stolen items/creatures to track down their original owners -The wounding bite was a community suggestion that was so good that I had to make it one of the main requested abilities. Thank you all! If you guys have any other ideas based around the theming, please post it down below and I'll include it in this suggestion! I think it’d be a fun way to bring this forgotten creature back to ARK!
  2. The Nothosaurus has the abilty for all wild eggs to have a chance be fertilized such as trike and trex eggs. If on your journey you want a trex but dont have enough trangs then steal a trex egg with this creature and maybe it will be fertilized. Dont worry about using trangs with the Nothosaurus its a passive tame. Feed it eggs to tame it but be warned it loves fish so much that it will attack you if you have fish in your inventory. The Nothosaurus is truly great for traveling semi fast on land but also an even faster swimmer. the saddle on its back has a bar for you to hold on to while under water and when it launch its self out of the water. The Nothosaurus usally dives down into the water and launches it self into the air all thow we dont really know what this does for the creature we assume its a form of fun. The Nothosaurus would usally be lazing around on the edge of the water this would provide relaxation and would make the creature regain its stamina much faster. Dont worry about oxygen when swimming the Nothosaurus will provide oxygen bubbles for you but be warned it can only provide them for around 2 minutes The best travel buddy you could have. Extra: I have seen that people think the ability makes it so you dont have to tame any creatures ever again you would be wrong as i have stated that a wild egg would have a chance. Say a wild dodo egg has a 60% chance to be fertilized and a wild trex egg has a 10% chance to be fertilized the percentage will be lower depending on the creature. If you have a tamed creature lay a non fertilized egg the nothosaurus cant make it fertilized because thats not its abilty the abilty is to find wild fertilized eggs from wild dinos. This would make the game more immersive and explain why wild eggs cant be fertilized besides rock drakes and wyverns and etc. They are protected by there kind so theres no need to hide them. Hope this makes the abilty more clear
  3. Ark Maip Dossier and Render done by KasparHen Common Name: Megaraptor Species: Maip macrothorax Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: Maip macrothorax is a unique dinosaur from the mysterious megaraptoran clade of theropods. Known for their large, scythe like claws, these predators use them with deadly efficiency - capable of shredding through any target they set their gaze on. Incredibly agile, these dinosaurs can rush their opponent with such force that they can temporarily stun surprisingly large opponents - most of the time making them exceptionally vulnerable to attack. With a name meaning 'shadow of death', Maip is a dinosaur seen by few and utilized by fewer. If you are lucky enough to encounter one, these dinosaurs can be incredibly invaluable to any survivor who has tamed one. Domesticated: An interesting feature of Maip's claws is the fact that they can be repeatedly sharpened and if sharpened in certain ways, can gather various types of resources from their prey, and can double as giving the dinosaur different ways to damage prey or opponent alike. I have met a survivor who owns a pair of Maip, (appropriately named 'Stabby' and 'Pokey') who uses these animals to aid him in traveling across the map and selling the various resources the dinosaurs can gather; mainly animal pelts, chitin and surprisingly - yet very rarely - organic polymer. Overall, Maip is an invaluable dinosaur for any tribe in need of certain resources that in some cases can be fairly hard to come by. It also doubles as a powerful battle mount that can be used to quite literally tear through opponents. Abilities: Primary Attack: A simple bite attack that deals a decent amount of damage. Secondary Attack: Holding down right click will have the Maip rapidly swipe its claws. X Key: Claw Sharpen - The Maip will sharpen its claws that will grant it different effects depending on what mode they’re in. These effects will apply to its claw swiping attack. The color on its finger claws and horns will change depending on what mode the Maip is in. This gives players a visual indicator as to what effect they currently have applied for the claw swipe attack. Razor Claw (Red): Used for harvesting pelt and causes the Gnashed bleeding status when attacking. Serrated Claw (Green): Used for harvesting hide and acts like the tek claws when attacking. This means its attack speed will increase with each successful hit landed. Exhausting Claw (Blue): Used for harvesting keratin/chitin and causes stamina drain when attacking. Piercing Claw (Yellow): Used for organic polymer harvesting and pierces through armor when attacking. C Key: Rush Ability - Maip goes into a stance where its opens up its claws and gets ready to rush forward. You can slowly move and aim while in this stance. Upon hitting left click when in this stance, Maip will rush forward with a sudden burst of speed. Upon hitting a target that is Rex/Spino sized or below, it will stun them. A successful hit will also give the Maip a damage boost for 15-20 seconds. This ability goes on a cooldown once it has been used successfully. Spacebar: Maip has the ability to jump upon pressing spacebar. Left-Ctrl: An aesthetic roar that looks and sounds cool. Additional Information on the Real-life animal: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maip
  4. Dossier Wild Tarbosaurus Bataar is one of the more docile carnivores. Only hunting when hungry, often being to lazy to hunt otherwise. And don't be fooled by their lazy behaviour they pack a wallop! albeit their speed is lacking the bite or tail swipe is one to be cautious of. This giant can often be seen in the coastal areas or the plains of the island scavenging whatever washes up on shore or eating easy picking. Although aggressive toward small dinosaurs, (No larger than dilos) they are docile toward humans unless attacked or if you steal their eggs. When their eggs are stolen their parental instincts kick in and will chase down the thief until they can no longer run or until the egg is safe. Domesticated In order to domesticate one of these creatures you must take an egg hatch it and raise it. Although their wild counter parts are naturally trusting they are fairly intelligent and the usual taming methods prove ineffective, The only way to truly to gain their trust is to imprint on a baby one. Due to the trust built up through out the life of the baby allows a small platform saddle to be equipped. Because of the smaller stature of this creature the platform saddle needs to be lightly built allowing less armour from the saddle. This platform saddle also limits their movement. A regular saddle is much easier for the Tarbosaurus to bare allowing it to be armoured sufficiently for combat and have full mobility. Attacks- Bite - A standard bite dealing normal damage. Tail swipe - A tail swipe knocking small creatures back and stunning medium sized creatures. Large sized creatures are unaffected. Ability Ability 1 - If fertilised Tarbosaurs are put in the inventory and dropped the Tarbosaurus will enter, a distressed state allowing it to take more damage but dish out harder attacks Ability 2 - A bonus with siblings if eggs are hatched within a simair time allowing for a courage boost. Possible balancing Due to trust they remain unaffected by other animals stat boost Platform saddle lowers the overall speed of the Tarbosaurus and has none if not minimal armour from platform saddle You must steal wild eggs and raise them in order to tame Tarbosaurus Appearance Their height would be a similar height to a rex no bigger than a Spinosaurus standing up right Fairly lean although adequately muscled in order to believably carry a platform saddle (Not sure if this is too Overpowered or Underpowered i don't play pvp, sorry for any bad grammar.)
  5. This is my first ark creature submission and a bit of a rushed drawing so excuse the bad dossier and hand writing. Alioramus (Alio for short) is surely one of the most vicious creatures I have encountered on the island and unlike most predators of the island the Alioramus hunts other carnivores almost exclusively but it will never turn down a tasty survivor in its territory. My dinosaur art I had to post on reddit because the file was too big wild the Alioramus is found on most parts of the island though having a preference for cold climates where it can find its favourite prey Yutyrannus. Alioramus are one of the few creatures immune to the Yutyrannus roar even though the beast is smaller the the Yuty and is even able to give its own unique screech which has been known to be so loud that it has scared off any would be predators. taming The Alioramus is a relatively easy to tame creature on the island with you having to hide near the creature and drop Yutyrannus lungs (or other meats and tributes less effectiveness) until it learns to trust you and then the Alio will follow you and you have to then search for and kill a Yutyrannus (or other carnivores for lower effectiveness) and once the Yutyrannus is killed the Alioramus must be hand fed its lungs then bravo you have tamed a Alioramus. domesticated Once the Alioramus is tamed it will become fiercely loyal to its master and there companions. its saddle is capable of holding a total of three people of which weaponry can be used on from. the Alio is also able to move incredibly quick for its size our speeding near every creature on the isle which has often led to hit and runs on the backs of Alioramus to settlements about the island. Its is also one of the only creatures of its size (between a Allo and a Yuty in size) to jump and pounce upon prey locking them in a position where they cannot escape. the screech of the Alioramus is able to scare off any beast from battle except for its own kind the drawback to this is that it will often off other tames and allies alike though this fear that this creatures spreads empowers the beast making it faster, stronger and able to break through stone structures (it can only break wood and thatch normally). If you have gotten this far I thank you for taking the time to read my little presentation and i hope you vote for the Alioramus Arks tenacious little tyrannosaur links https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alioramus https://dinopedia.fandom.com/wiki/Alioramus
  6. Introducing the mauisaurus!! just so you know I kept getting this creature mixed up with the dakosaurus, tylosaurusand some more creatures for some reason while making this. I also don’t know if this creature has already been used yet wild the mauisaurus is an aggressive aquatic reptile. It uses its strong jaws and teeth to grab onto its prey. you should be careful not to aggro the mauisaurus, It may chase you forever. domesticated There isn’t much about a tamed mauisaurus really. Once tamed the mesosaurus is not able to be ridden. abilities •being able to knockout creatures: Using their strong jaws, the mauisaurus will grab its prey and violently shake it, causing it to go unconscious. •able to grab survivors off of their mounts: If a survivor is riding on any type of creature smaller then a shark the mauisaurus will often rip them from their tames back before killing them. •able to drag stuff the water: the mauisaurus may go a bit close to the surface sometimes. Whilst doing this they might spot a bird, raft or maybe a survivor flying around above the water. Sometimes the mesosaurus may use their long neck to grab creatures and drag them under. (this might also happen to creatures that are on the beach. Creature must be smaller then a turtle.) taming to tame this creature you must lure over other creatures for it to kill and eat. The higher level the creature, the more it’s taming effectiveness goes up. To prevent it from attacking you whilst taming it you must eat either calen soup or fria curry. (incase you have already caused it to attack you, the soups will cause it to lose aggro) other info •diet: carnivore •time: late Cretaceous •spawns: Nearly everywhere in the ocean Wiki: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mauisaurus thanks for reading this! Please let me know if you like it or not. some of the things here are inaccurate since I kept getting it mixed up with different creatures like the dakosaurus
  7. Name: Smilodon Diet: Carnivore Species: Saber-Toothed Cat Time Period: Pleistocene epoch Temperament Aggressive In the wild the smilodon hunt in packs, they will be typically in packs of 5 . The smilodon go after large herbivores . In the wild the smilodon will sink their fangs into its preys body causing them to bleed. Once the smilodon's fangs are released from the preys body they get a buff called ' Blood Rush' giving the creature a 1.5x speed boost and allows it to attack with it's claws dealing a stackable bleed to its prey. How to tame: To tame this saber-toothed cat you the player must kill all but the alpha of the pack which will then send it into a rage mode. what you must do is get away from the smilodon and allow it to sink its fangs into your dinosaurs flesh sucking their life force but also increasing its taming. Where to find: The smilodon will typically be found in the freezing cold sections of the snow (e.g murder murder snow on ragnarok) and found in some grasslands across the different arks(Design of smilodon may be different depending on which one the player comes across) Once tamed: Once you tame this creature you'll be able to ride without a saddle but can be equipped with a saddle at level 60. When riding on its back you gain a severe insulation buff whilst in the cold so survivors can survive in the cold a lot more easier. The attacks it has are a bite attack, and a intimidate debuff roar which decreases the attack of those that are effected. Once close enough to a target you can press the jump button causing the smilodon to sink its fangs into a creature. After 10 seconds of dealing mild bleed damage to the target creature the smilodon will be released and gain the blood rush buff. This buff provides 1.5x speed to the smilodon and changes the smilodon's bite, causing it to deal a stackable bleed and holding down left click/right trigger makes it deal a powerful slash which makes it lift up its entire body and slashed down on its opponent. (Only the alpha can do the jump attack on creatures and if successful causes all tamed smilodons around it to deal bleed with their bite attack. This creature can be found on: The island, extinction, gen1, ragnarok, valguero ( Basically every map that has snow) and maps with grass lands such as gen2 and rag.
  8. WILD The Albertosaurus can often be found surrounded by a pack of troodons these two have a symbiotic relationship with the Albertosaurus fighting off larger predators and the troodons defending the Albert while it sleeps at night. ABILITIES The Albertosaurus can compress and expand its spinal chord ranging from the size of a bary to the size of an allo in its small form the Albertosaurus can jump long distances sprint at high speeds and has a stealth that reduces the aggro of other dinos and gives a small damage reduction, however this form has rather lackluster weight and health with only average melee. In its large form the Albertosaurus has a bleed effect on its attacks as well as a stomp attack that will slow down nearby creatures once this form will also have a super attack similar to a shadowmane. This form lacks stamina and speed but has great melee and health as well as an average weight. TAMING To tame the Albertosaurus you have to sneak up on it while it is sleeping killing the entire troodon pack then you access the Albert's inventory placing an artifact inside upon doing this the Albertosaurus will go into a rage changing into its large form then chasing the survivor then to finish the taming the survivor has to drop hunter trophies as the Albertosaurus gives chase then the Albertosaurus is yours.
  9. So I know we have the Snow Owl, but let me introduce you to the real biggest owl that ever walked the earth: Ornimegalonyx. Yes, I said walked; this owl was probably mostly flightless, able to fly only in short bursts like a wild turkey. Wanna see it? Here's the owl compared to a modern human. (From Wikipedia) It had very large feet for its size and was likely an ambush hunter, sitting and waiting for prey and then pouncing on it. My thoughts for the Ark version were this: -Ornimegalonyx (Orni) is about the size of a dilo (scaled up a bit from real life, but really, how many Ark creatures are their actual size?). -They are VERY FAST like a troo, though hunting alone rather than in a pack. -They're mostly found in open country (most of Scorched Earth, places with not a lot of trees but not generally on mountains). -They do not wander in the wild, rather, sitting and waiting in concealment posture (see below) for a dino small enough to eat to come by, similar to the purlovia or thyla. -They cannot be ridden, but once tamed can act as a sort of guard dog or standing harvester of small animals. -For PVP, the Orni can be set to "Conceal," making itself very skinny and difficult to see until it bursts from hiding at enemy survivors. -Taming would be accomplished in a way similar to the otter or gacha: you bring small, live animals to the Orni so it can catch them (jerboa/compy/dodo/lystro, etc). This would require a net, lasso or grappling hook, or you could bring it tamed dinos for a small boost. Other people have suggested this animal as well: https://survivetheark.com/index.php?/gallery/image/9882-ornimegalonyx-dossier/ ^I like the idea of the Orni producing pellets that can be substituted for something, cementing paste or otherwise. https://survivetheark.com/index.php?/forums/topic/669350-ark-1-or-2-ideas-ornimegalonyx/#comment-3339689 If it were me designing the actual look of the bird, I like the common idea of being superficially similar to a burrowing owl, though with longer legs and smaller wings. Just please, god, don't put ear tufts on it like they did with the snow owl.
  10. There aren’t that many dromeosaurs in ARK Survival Evolved currently with there only being like two in the game that being the Raptor/Utahraptor and the Deinonychus along with the little demon that is the Microraptor which is why I am suggesting to add the Dakotaraptor to ARK Survival Evolved. The Dakotaraptor also known as Dakotaraptor Stenini was an extinct genus of dromeosaurid known from partial skeletons that was unearthed in Harding County, South Dakota, USA in the Hell Creek Formation by paleontologist Robert DePalma in the year 2005 in a bonebed that beared the remains of a variety of dinosaurians and non-dinosaurians and do to it’s rarity in the formation it has been given the nickname as the ghost of the forest. On the Arks the Dakotaraptor also known as Dakotaraptor Brutum meaning brute, beast, or animal in Latin, is a dromeosaur that like the Deinonychus is covered in feathers with it looking similar to a bearded vulture when it comes to coloration and is slightly bigger than the Raptor/Utahraptor being 6 meters or around 19 feet long. It also makes a loud crocodile like bellow similar to the sound of a thunderstorm along with hisses, grunts, growls and a loud guttural roar. It is also able to go quite fast for the creature’s size with it being lean and muscular along with being able to take a lot of damage. It’s bite and claw attacks can also give a bleed effect to things that it is attacking similar to the Deinonychus or Allosaurus. Similar to the Argentavis it can regenerate its health by eating carcasses along with it being able to smell dead bodies and things on low health similar to the Direwolf. It also has a stomp attack and a tail attack along with it being able to latch onto surfaces and creatures similar to the Deinonychus but it can also actually crawl on surfaces much better than the Deinonychus with it being more like the Megalania and the Rock Drake instead of jumping from place to place like the Deinonychus although unlike the Deinonychus it is too big to actually glide but still takes no fall damage do to it’s feathers acting as armor from the fall. It also has a fear roar that scares smaller creatures away such as the Deinonychus and It also has another roar that gives it a new ability called war cry which makes it in raged somewhat similar to the Giganotosaurus with it being able to deal around two or three times more damage to things than normal along with giving it glowing red eyes although unlike the Giganotosaurus it won’t kill you too. You can also craft the saddle for it at level 42 with it’s saddle having two leather pouches at the back similar to the Equus along with some weapons hanging off it like a sword or axe. Also similar to the Deinonychus you need to steal their eggs in order to tame it and while you can find the Deinonychus up on open cliffs, you can find the Dakotaraptor in the dense redwoods and higher up in elevation in more mountainous terrain near the peaks of mountains. You can also find them mostly living alone although you can also rarely find them in lose mobs of three or four compared to the typical wolf like pack hunting that you always see in dromeosaurs.
  11. Diet: carnivore Size: medium/large Habitat: snowy and Arctic areas Left click ability: bite attack Right click ability: tail wipe attack C ability: a cross-hair will appear on screen. Aim the cross-hair, and press left click to confirm where the Cryolophosaurus will fire. A second cross-hair will appear that functions the same, and afterwards a third. Selecting the location of the third shot via the cross-hair will then prompt the Cryolophosaurus to stand upright and fire three damaging snowballs, one to each selected location. Has a chance to freeze opponents hit, preventing them from moving. X ability: for a duration of ten seconds apply an ice effect to its bite attack. This effect slows down opponents hit and has a chance to freeze them. Additional features: can be put into turret mode outside of battle, causing it to crouch down. The area in front of the Cryolophosaurus will be highlighted. The beginning point of the highlighted zone (close to the dinosaur's head) will be highlighted in red, and if a wild creature, enemy, or enemy tame enters the highlighted red the Cryolophosaurus will lunge at them, knocking any mounted foe hit off of their mount. This causes the Cryolophosaurus to exit turret mode. The rest of the highlighted zone will be highlighted blue. If a wild creature, enemy, or enemy tame enters this zone, every 1.5 seconds they will have a damaging snowball spat at them. This does not force the Cryolophosaurus out of turret mode. Additional features cont.: any items placed in the inventory of a tamed Cryolophosaurus will be naturally preserved and thus will not spoil, but fertilised eggs, after being in the Cryolophosaurus' inventory for six in-game hours, will not gain levels as quickly upon hatching. Description: a large carnivorous theropod dinosaur, Cryolophosaurus is believed to be related to Dilophosaurus. On the Arks, however, while resembling their extinct counterparts, Cryolophosaurus is very different for one key reason, and that is its ability to spit a freezing slush picked up from its tundra habitat and spat out from an organ in the dinosaur's throat with great precision and force. Some sexual dimorphism has been observed in the individuals found on the Arks; males tend to have much larger, spiky-er, and more colourful than the females, and the females tend to be larger, possibly to produce more body heat for incubating eggs and to help ward off would-be attackers from their nest.
  12. Ceratosaurus Diet: meat , eggs Temperment: neutral A peaceful , lazy carnivore , comparable in size to a carnotaurus(irl its smaller than carno).Next to the wild ceratosaurus would walk its cubs , which can be tamed(adult can't be tamed). To do this we must feed the young dinosaurs with kibble, during this we must also watch out for the adult dinosaur that wants to chase us away.Ceratosaurus attack only small creatures , like Dodo , compy, but if we are getting close to young Ceratosaurs, their parents wants to kill us. Ceratosaurs spawns in forests, mountains and desert.his saddle is able to sit two people, and it reduces the weight of items in his inventory, which makes him one of the coolest mounts to travel. Male ceratosaurus have bigger Horn than female , and spikes on his back. Skills: 1- bite, deals little more damage to big creatures 2- stomping, scaring away small creatures, and slowing down enemies 3- Stab with a horn , brings out a lot more resources (like polymer, chitin etc)/ inflicts bleeding. 4-This dino can't be stunned by other creatures, and traps(but can be picked up by all wyverns, quetzal and tuso. 5-saddle reduces weight of items in its inventory
  13. Named as "Single Crested Lizard" This would be an interesting add to the ark world, It is distinctive by the single crest on its skull, they claim it could've been used for mating. The crest was also used to intensify the roar, it could be useful in communicating in a flock while hunting. They're comfortable hunting alone or in groups.
  14. Dossier: One my time on the ARK one of the creatures I've been the most in love with have been the Anurognathus Turbela, contrary to Anurognathus Ammoni, Anurognathus Turbela is almost eleven times the size of its original counterpart, Anurognathus Turbela is a creature of loyal temper who will follow survivors with chitin or meat on them, the Anurognathus will constantly follow the survivors and will beg them for food whenever they encounter them in an adorable little fasion, when in the wild these creatures usually travel in packs of up to five individuals, and it is usuallly recommended to tame at least two Anurognathus Turbela for them to be effective when in travel. When tamed, Anurognathus can prove to be a valuable tame, and it is not uncommon to see survivors without one of them in their backs, even going as far as to jumping off the back of their tamer to protect them from imminent danger, if the player is attacked or left injured badly by a creature, Anurognathus will proceed to chip away at the creauture by guiding it away until the creature is lost of sight, afterwards the Anurognathus will return to its tamer and stay by its side, however it can be trained not to do that, Anurognathus enjoys meat and chitin and it is always fun to pet them to see their reactions, as well in long falls Anurognathus will spread open its wings as a parachute to attempt and reduce the fall damage recieved, however this will drain its stamina quickly, eitherway a very useful tame for experience and new survivors. Pro tips for taming: Anurognathus will avoid dense forests, swamps, redwoods, mountains, and rivers, and can only be found in plain areas with low amount of trees around, places like 'the footpaw' or 'the weathertop' are good places to find Anurognathus. Anurognathus is a passive tame, implying that you'll need meat or chitin in your last slot to be able to tame them, Anurognathus won't attack unless provoked, and angering an Anurognathus is a very poor decision as the team can chip away at a starting-level survivor, and in groups can probably kill a decent level para. Utility: Parachute but not as OP and also reutilizable, can save you if you're being attacked by like a carno or trike but of course you can disable that setting and let it stay with you and watch you as you guide that 150 rex to the trap knowing damn well you finna die, have a fluffy, loyal companion who will be by your side regardless! And by the way don't be a heartless person and try to kill this thing they drop literarily nothing besides hide and meat.
  15. Gualong Wucaii means literally crown dragon, this Chinese antecesor of the T.Rex is theorized to be one of the first tyrannosaurids and the one that started its rivalry with the ceratopsids. So, here's my concept for Guanlong: Common name: Guanlong Species: Guanlong Dracotyrannus Time: Late Jurassic Diet: Carnivorous Temperament: Aggressive Wild: Guanlong Dracotyrannus is a medium-sized Ark carnivore being slightly smaller than the Raptor. These hunters go in packs and tighter they're not afraid to stalk creatures larger than themselves. But don't be fooled, these carnivores know how to fend for themselves. They are proud creatures and will not give up easily, but despite this they're curious by nature and can be surprised by fire leaving a small period where the survivor can run away because the Guanlong will be fascinated with the fire and/ or other bright elements that capture their attention. Domesticated: Despite the Guanlong's pride, it has shown incredible loyalty to its survivor. Ithey may seem small, but a pack of these predators is to be feared. In fact, this predator will face larger creautres in a pack, and if it loses it, it will not stop fighting until its enemy falls, thus honoring the fame of its descendant, the T.Rex . Taming: Guanlong dracotyrannus is a proud hunter and will not accept being tamed unconscious. because of this, only survivors above level 40 are worthy of taming. To tame this creature, you have to separate the desired specimen from its group and once this is done, distract the creature with light and feed it with its favorite food, then the Guanlong will emit a roar and attack the survivor, but there is no need to worry since the Guanlong will damage the survivor very slightly and its difficult for it to kill you. Then yo must fight back the Guanlong (it's recommended to hit it with your fists so as not to kill it) and after a while of "fighting" teh Guanlong will roar and stop attacking you, that is when you must take advantage and feed the creature, then repeat this process until it tames. His favourite food is the excepcional kibble, followed by the prime mutton, cooked prime mutton, prime meat, prime fish meat, cooked prime meat, cooked prime, fish, raw meat, raw fish, cooked meat, cooked fish, dried prime meat, and dried meat. Skills: Main attack (Left click): Bite Secondary attack (Right click): Pounce (if the creature is small, it will immobilize it on the ground and bite it as if it were a raptor) (if the creature is larger and the secondary attack button is maintained, the Guanlong will bite and scratch in a long period like deino always consuming 75% of its stamina) Alternative attack (C): Roar: The Guanlong will emit a roar that increases the attack and damage resistance to allied creatures. If the guanlong have pack bonus it also applies a damage reduction to the enemy. Alternate attack (LCTRL): Ambush (The Guanlong crouches and reduces its movement speed and noise making it harder to detect) Jump (Space bar) Passive ability: Luminous attraction (The Guanlog is attracted to light sources, when it is in the wild it will stare at the light source for 15 seconds before going back to what it was doing, if the source is a torch or a lumipet it will look and pass by, but if you carry them, it will attack you until it kills you leaving the pet unharmed unless the pet attacks the Guanlong then it will kill it to. Wild and tamed Guanlong are immune to fear. 16. My submission would be Megaraptor, which despite the name is not a dromaeosaur like the Utahraptor and Deinonychus but is instead a possible relative of the T. rex and Yutyrannus that specialized in using its arms and massive hand claws to hunt instead of its bite Megaraptor (technically Aerosteon but same difference) model by JWE modding team Jagged Fangs Designs Common name: Megaraptor Species: Megaraptor pugnator Time period: Late Cretaceous Temperment: Aggressive Diet: Carnivore General gameplay concept: The main draw of Megaraptor would be its interaction with the dermis items of ARK and its ability to use them to gain passive buffs against specific creatures. Megaraptor will be able to harvest a dermis from slain creatures in a similar fashion to the Taxidermy Tool. This dino will have a special "dermis slot" in it's inventory, ala the costume slot, and this will facilitate its main gimmick. Putting a dermis in this slot will give the Megaraptor various combat buffs when attacking the specific species the dermis came from, which I'll call the Dermis Buff. This could range from a large damage boost, increased attack speed, faster health regen, or even a form of lifesteal, or any combination thereof. However, these buffs will only apply when attacking whatever creature the Megaraptor has the dermis buff against, and will not come into effect when attacking any other creature. Additionally, to give some additional utility perhaps the Megaraptor could also gain some passive benefits when within a certain radius of its targeted species. Say, it could gain a small boost to its speed and a slowed stamina drain, and clever survivors could equip the Megaraptor with the dermis of some common dino (say, Parasaurolophus) to more easily traverse the ARK. In turn, to perhaps add a downside and a reason to go without a dermis, Megaraptor might receive certain penalties when in combat with creatures it doesn't have the dermis buff against. As to further function as a combat focused mount, Megaraptor can use its dexterous arms and large talons to pierce through certain defenses, such as prying open the Doedicurus' rolled up state. Additionally, using its long arms Megaraptor can swat away bolas, Archaeopteryx, and various flyers to prevent them from dismounting its rider. Taming Ideas and Wild behavior: Megaraptor in the wild are aggressive loners, relatively rare compared to other dinosaurs. They prefer similar climates to other large carnivores like the T. rex and Allosaurus, and don't frequently venture near the beaches survivors spawn at. Instead, these are mainland animals typically found in redwoods, tundra, dunes, and mountains. Megaraptor are unusually aggressive towards smaller carnivores, and will go out of their way to kill Dilophosaurs, Utahraptors, Troodons, and the like. They in particular hate Alpha Raptors, and it is through this rivalry that they can be tamed. In a similar fashion to the Voidwyrm and Reaper Queen, a Megaraptor must be fought to be tamed (only when a survivor reaches an arbitrary but high level, ala some other passive tames). Upon reaching a certain damage threshold (percentage based on its current health), the Megaraptor will enter a dazed state for a limited period of time. When this happens, a survivor can approach the creature a feed it an Alpha Raptor's claw, filling up the taming meter and refilling enough health to repeat the process. Stats, Attacks, and Misc. Size: Medium-large, maybe somewhere in the range of the Megalosaurus or Allosaurus Speed: Quick Health: Moderate, maybe 600 or so. Megaraptor could gain a lot of survivability from its dermis buff Primary, LMB attack: A simple bite and slash, nothing special Secondary, RMB attack: A two part attack consisting with an upwards leaping slash, followed by a second slash on the way down. If this second slash hits a flying creature, said creature will be grounded from the impact. Perhaps if the Megaraptor lands both slashes, it will receive a short attack speed buff for its LMB attack independent from (but stacking with) the dermis buff to get some comboing going on. This could also be the attack that will harvest a dermis when used on a corpse. Tertiary, C attack: A roar to like nice and scary, since that's always fun Other passives: Prevents dismount, pierces defenses, can jump short distances, gathers mainly hide and pelt Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megaraptor TLDR: Carnivorous dinosaur similar in stats to Allo that can equip dermis to gain combat buffs from whatever species that dermis is from. Tamed passively with Alpha Raptor Claws at high levels.
  17. Wild: The Seymouria on the island seem significantly larger than they did in the paleozoic as they are around the size of a Megalania. Seymouria are an odd species of amphibian as they are largely terrestrial and often are found far from water. Even stranger is that these animals do not shudder at more extreme climates, and thus can be found in snow and desert alike. To acomplish this however they must conserve water, and as a result their feces is almost completely devoid of water. This water absence causes the feces of Seymouria to be very volatile and prone to exploding from pressure within. Wild Seymouria are aware of the explosive properties of their feces and will lay fields of these mine-like droppings around their territory. Seymouria are aggressive and will attack nearby survivors, but they are extra careful not to set off their own traps and thus can move around their minefield unscathed. Taming: Seymouria have anti narcotic properties in their blood and it is nearly impossible to knock one out with a standard longneck rifle and dart. Instead, many survivors have turned to using the Seymouria's traps against them and lay in wait for the Seymouria to approach one of their own fecal mines. With enough firepower, if the Seymouria is close enough to the mine, the explosion can inflict torpor through brute trauma. The amphibian will be quick to become hostile if the aggressor is in the immediate area. This process may need to be repeated a few times, but once the Seymouria is knocked out, it will desire meat as would any other carnivore, however it may appreciate a filled canteen more. Domesticated: Once domesticated, Seymouria can be ridden into the battlefield, or before a battlefield even exists... With their natural instinct to avoid their own traps, they naturally have also picked up on being careful around other traps as well like bear traps and narcotic traps. This makes for a perfect stealthy scout that can go beyond enemy lines. Domesticated Seymouria also may be coerced into defecating their fecal mines on command, but this may require some artificial stimulation. If such an ability is honed properly though, the Seymouria may prove to be wonderful for defense of your own base of operations.
  18. Description: The Ogresuchus is a small reptile that lives in the wide plains, forests, and any place where large egg laying herbivores are found. This creature can be used as a shoulder pet and can be found in deep shades of blue, brown, green and blacks and greys. Think of a creature with the looks of a kaprosucus and about the size of a Pegomastax...or more of a scrunched kapro with a shorter face and stubbier tail. Abilities: When worn as a shoulder pet it cools you down from the hottest climates like beaches, deep forest's and the deserts on Scorched earth due to its cold blood. It can also be set to wandering and will collect all eggs within a certain radius storing them in its inventory saving you time. When the creature is wandering it will not be attacked by any creatures unless it steals their egg therefor will be attacked and chased until it runs to far out of range. It will also bring back eggs from your dinosaurs ready to be made into kibble or hatched into new dino's. Taming: This creature is tamed passively with its preferred foods being large eggs, superior kibble and raw prime meat. If hurt will run and your taming process will start over. 19. nanuqsaurus would of course live in the artic parts of the arks, where it would be a medium sized creature. as far as the abilties i think it would be nice if it gave u isolation for cold as well as a hiding ability in snow and maybe af a sniff that can locate nearby enemys. it would be cool aswell if it was a pack hunting dino like a pack of 2-4... and they could maybe have some kind of new buff when they attack? but would love a smaller but more dangerous yuty in ark Idk but thats just what i think would be cool. if u dont like those abilitys i came up with then think of ur own then:)
  20. Simbakubwa kutokaafrika Great lion from Africa I heard tales of these beast on the grassland. they are veracious predators that seems to have no fear of any creature on the island...well except the giga of course. Simbakubwa kutokaafrika is an impressive Hyaenodonta carnivore. despites it name it dose not hunt in packs or prides instead hunting in solitary and only interacting with others of it kind during spring. that being said it hard to imagine this large but still smaller that a dinosaurs predator challenging a rex to a carcass until you see it for yourself. this creature also seems to get excited when large herbivores are in the area ending it into a biting frenzy. it powerful jaws able to crush the toughest hides and armors of the natural world. however do to this "Challenge everything ." attuites taming these powerful beast has proven quite a challenge. adults seem to not eat when knockout unconscious like the other inhabitants of the ark. but some smart warlords have used chain bolas to make the Simbakubwa powerful bite not a problem which to their surprise also make the beast passive and also them merely has to starch a simbakubwa like a giant oversized puppies. once tamed your have yourself a powerful mount to take into battle with epically if there are large enemy herbivores in the fight (bronto, paracer, mammoth or Diplodocus ) as it bites faster due to it's excitement. Passive: Big game hunter: if a large herbivore such as Mammoth,Bronto,Paracer or Diplodocus gains an incase in attack and attack speed Lmb: Bite Rmb: gnashing: Bite dose bleed but is on a 2 minute cooldown .bleed dose not affect bosses 😄 paw swipe: Gathers hide at incased rate X: turning bite: Simbakubwa quickly turns around and bites anything behind it Left crtl: roar that can scare carno and lower weight animals. Right crtl: Yawn that is mainly just to give the creature more life dose not have any affects both images are from Wikipedia
  21. Though we have a Direwolf and it wouldn't be hard to make one look like a fox, the Giant Fox could be smaller than a Direwolf, but obviously bigger than your every day average fox. So, I'm posting this here for the giant fox. A Giant Fox would make a pretty cool addition to the game and I have a few ideas for not only its abilities, but stats in relation to its bigger counterpart - Direwolves, and if it would need a saddle or not. So, here is the ability: Creature: Giant Fox Biome: Any, but most in Redwoods Abilities: High Jump (3 wall high), Creature/Item Bag location (Super Hearing and smell), and Stealth Ridable: Yes Breedable: Yes Tame Method: You have to throw meat at the ground and let it eat it but if he see you he will not eat the meat and attack you Saddle: Optional (Can wear a saddle but does not need one to ride, like the Equus) Well, this is my take on it and personally I'd love to see a Giant Fox creature added to the game!! Also this is open for discussion as well as a suggestion. Thank you all!!!
