  1. Jat drew up this AMAZING diagram for us.
  2. If I'm understanding your question and the answers I've seen elsewhere from WC. If it's the steam version of the game that is being hosted the folks who play on consoles will not be able to play with you. It gets a bit blurry how it would work with the Windows Cross Play version of the game though, particularly if the players are on either PS or Xbox as I'm fairly certain one wouldn't be able to crossplay between those two given how Sony is pushing back on that happening. Really hope to play with more PC folks as they've built up some great communities. There are some great communities in the Xbox dedicated server world but they are fewer due to the multiple issues folks have had hosting them on the consoles.
  3. But doesn't that mean that folks on console legacy servers won't be able to transfer to Ragnarok at all?
  4. This is the last thing I've seen on this, though I'm from the US so I have no idea who that is store wise.
  5. That and if they use the link Jat provided it goes directly to the 24h 07m 15s mark that the interview starts at. Though this only seems to work in browsers. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151136534?t=24h07m15s
  6. Answering myself yet again. From the interview that Ced just gave it sounds like it's only going to be 1080P at 60fps for the "epic like" settings for the Xbox One X. Disappointed, but this seems more reasonable given how well PCs with similar (or even some better) hardware seem to be able to handle it and not be able to do 4K at 60fps with epic settings.
  7. You saw this already, but for those who didn't and see this thread. @GP shared the link here: The youtube link is here: Thank you GP for finding this.
  8. Correct, you cannot play using your steam account in the Windows 10 Store version of the game. Nor can you play with others in the Windows 10 Store/Xbox when you play using the steam version of the game, as you already indicated. You cannot connect to a server that is running the Steam version of the game with an account that is using the Windows 10 Store/Xbox version of the game. Correct. You can host a server (at least that's what they've said before, we'll have to see when we actually get the Windows 10 Store version of the game) with the Windows 10 Store version of the game and anyone with the Windows 10 Store or Xbox version of the game should be able to connect. Obviously should if it's properly configured and actually working. That is at least my understanding of how it works. Could be wrong, but I've read a bit up on this already and followed them and what they've said thus far. And is how it works with other games that already allow for this type of play.
  9. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151136534?t=24h07m15s not live, but that is the link to the twitch stream.
  10. Asked on Twitter, but I'll ask here in case someone here knows. I've already bought the game, how do you buy the seasons pass if you already own the game? I don't see it on the Xbox store.
  11. Right, in general that makes sense, but the way that video output works, at least on consoles, is that you specify the output resolution in the Xbox system settings. It cannot dynamically change that, at least not the current version. So in my case I have mine set to 4k resolution. It cannot change that output resolution, so it must do some sort of internal conversion of what ever dynamic resolution it outputs and then has to upsample it to 4k to render. I'm guessing that's what it does for PCs as well, as I've seen some folks claim 4k on PC, but when you look at the actual output it's actually some lower (but still high) resolution upsampled to 4k and not a native 4k. Also wondering if they'll take advantage of the newer 4k VSync (VRR/Freesync) I've seen talked about, where it just sends the frame when it gets it. Guessing PCs have something similar already. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2017-project-scorpio-supports-freesync-and-hdmi-vrr
  12. Appears 60fps is not at 4k but variable? Not sure how that works on consoles though. So perhaps it outputs at a specific resolution and up samples to 4k?
  13. The Steam version is not the same version as the Xbox/Windows 10 version. If you buy Steam you don't get the Windows 10/Xbox version and visa versa, buying the Steam version doesn't get you the Xbox/Windows 10 version. It's confusing I know since folks can play Ark on Windows 10 already, but that's the Steam version of the game. So yes, there is a difference, though it appears that perhaps graphically it will improve likely it won't have all the awesome mods you get in the Steam version. Unless the can pull off something similar (though still not as good) as was done with Fallout 4 and Skyrim on consoles.
  14. The Windows 10/Xbox version is not the same game as the one you bought via Steam. If you want the cross play version you'll need to buy that version from Microsoft directly, if you're not interested in that then the Steam version will continue to play as it does now and you don't need to buy another version. I know it's confusing as folks are likely playing it on Windows 10 already but the steam version.
  15. At 4k? And hopefully PCs will see this, maybe even PS4 Pro? Sorry if you already posted this as there are a lot of posts now. LOL
  16. Boo, no Ark yet. Jesse must have been sent back for recertification. Jesse said he's going to be on soon.
  17. Ummm... it's talking about Player Unknown right now, guessing Ark is next. Gotta be delayed otherwise it wouldn't be WC. LOL
  18. Happy Birthday Ark and WC. Thanks for the amazing game. All the best to your future.
  19. Could you point us to a bit more detail on this topic? I've done some searching, but most of the articles/tutorials are older and there have been some drastic changes in Unreal Engine as well as the ARK development kit that make me think that they might be out of date. Perhaps the changes don't matter. Could you or perhaps the other modders reading this give us newbie folks a bit more info on this topic? I've got enough experience development wise to start playing with this and seems like a good opportunity to get my daughter trying things out as game design is an interest of hers now.
