  1. Is it the small lake just under the Ancient Device? The large spawn portal (where you pop out after doing Rockwell), if you run out and drop down into the lake I think it's fairly peaceful and has a rocky island in it. It's near one of the caves, iirc. This user here has an image of the location; it'd be under where that big metal opening pops out in the far background. https://survivetheark.com/index.php?/profile/290342-totallyuncool/content/&type=forums_topic_post
  2. I don't think "ambitious" is a great idea right now. They're financially struggling; they need to pull in their horns and finish the things they've already got progress on. Not that anything "Mass Effect" is bad, but Ark's base game experience, gameplay loop and style are both relatively unique & the series' main selling point. Trying to jump into a new genre would be a huge risk with new competition, and they also don't have money for it. I honestly think their best bet is just to push on. A lot of players are loyal to the series, and will keep coming back as long as bugs are fixed and new content is pushed. Past that point, maybe they can look at expanding. I think as a player my most-wanted feature is the new story map at the end of Extinction. More Rockwell? Yes, please. But if they want more replayability, I'd say their best bet's a twist on the old procedurally generated maps. Get them working, make them canon individual Arks, let players share them, and give additional rewards for conquering each one. It wouldn't require new -assets- either.
  3. Current Behavior: Joining a singleplayer game using the "Join Last Session" button does not have a check to see if the mods in the saved game match the currently selected mods. Most modern games (right back to Skyrim) as well as SE had a warning. Problem: Occasionally, mods are outdated or simply deactivate at random. This results in all content from those mods being permanently lost upon game load. Suggestion: A popup warning that you must click away before rejoining a game, provided when your savegame mods do not match your activated mods. --- I have seen a multitude of players asking (ex. on Reddit) 'what can I do? I loaded the game, all my mods were deactivated somehow and all my stuff is lost.' I had it happen to me yesterday. Examples of what's lost: - All modded structures, both supports and decoration - All supplies (stacks mods are common) - metal, wood, thatch, everything - All modded creatures, including the new Gigantoraptor, bred/imprinted/levelled, even ones in cryo; same with Deinosuchus, Sivatherium, etc. - All holiday items from Valentine's. That was a lot of fishing, folks. This also means all my dinos and troughs had empty inventories/no food, so I had to scramble to refill everything. My dino 'revive' buffs were gone and had to be manually inserted into every single dino's inventory, etc. This isn't an uncommon issue, and not exactly a bug; if a mod's outdated it might not load. A warning such as: "WARNING: the mods active in this save file do not match your mods list. Loading this game may lose saved, modded content. Are you sure you want to continue?" Thanks!
  4. I just tested it out in-game; hold right-click and press the numbers for those other color regions. (ASA at least.) Each one paints a slightly different section of the inner wall, including the outer edges, the inner "bevelled" area and the flat part. Region one (which you have active) only does the outer panel.
  5. Man, the Aberration votes were hard. I loved so many of the submissions but I have to say this one was my favorite. Brilliant design, artwork, and concept!
  6. Just wanted to slam in late and say this one was fantastic. The synergy with the map and its creatures is brilliant, and the creature itself is so unique compared to anything we have! (Awesome artwork, too!)
  7. To add to what the others have said: each and every dinosaur has its own page on the Ark wiki (and there's more than one Ark wiki). Those pages are priceless, so have them on-hand while playing. They'll tell you how to tame each and every dino and what they eat, what utility they serve and what abilities (button-presses) they have.
  8. They may have fixed it, then! It used to be that the high-levelled ones in the cave could be tamed. (I assume that was a bug, cave-levelled creatures should not be tameable.)
  9. I like to think that the Survivor (me, you, whoever) had a base on the healthy ring with tamed Shadowmanes. That one arrives normally. Maybe they can escape and repopulate But the Ark 1 critters I'm sure they have templates for in the ship's databases.
  10. An add-on question: does anyone know the font used in the dossiers? (The handwritten all-caps?) Update--it's available in the templates, but the two fonts are called DJB About A Boy, and deathrattle_bb.
  11. To note, use the elixir last (at 70% + taming). Iirc its additional progress will reset next time the Ferox transforms, unless they've since fixed that. Tbh I don't think they're worth taming--there's a cave in Fjordur where you can tame cave-levelled ones (up to 300 on official settings, iirc) but even then, they tend to vanish or duplicate etc. when transforming. Or if you leave your base having left one in giant form, it'll often despawn trying to transform back.
  12. I'm fascinated to find out what the "call an orphaned wild baby" will do. It sounds amazing.
