  1. Is it only me that can't open any storage (vaults, cabinets, fridges ...) ~five mins after login?
  2. Try the DirectX start parameters -dx10 or -dx11. For me under dx11 with all settings down I have fewest crashes, but bad lag.
  3. Currently transport flights with valuable goods are really nerve-wracking because at any moment the game could crash and then I have the recovery stress. It would really help if we stay on the bird and do not fall off when logging back. OK, maybe this would have some unexpected results if players can fly high and logout there like in a bed. But as long as many of us have frequent crashes this should be. What do you think?
  4. The second last patch was great. First time I could play on DX12 with rare crashes. For crtical flight transport I switched back to DX11, where I never crashed, but have bad lag. But after the last patch all versions, DX10, DX11, DX12 are frequently crashing. Only good thing I noticed was that DX10 suddenly has good performance. Would be good if at least one DX version runs stable.
  5. A happy end. After today a Windows update came, and a new Nvidia driver, and an ARK update, I can finaly play crash free on DX12 and have great performance on medium settings. Thanks.
  6. But there is no DefaultInput.ini, nowhere in my ARK folder. And if the input.ini is reverted, we can't make changes. I still have to use AutoHotKey for swapping t and w, so that it's easier for me to transfer. Devs, please make the transfer key remapable.
  7. They wrote Geforce RTX3080 is recommended, and minimum would be a GTX1080. I have bought a RTX 3060 with 12GB RAM only for ARK, I play on low resolution of 1366x768, I have ALL settings down to off/zero/minimum. And I have crazy lag because we now have three render-bubbles: A small one for the dinos, a medium one for rocks and stuff, and a big one for the plants. If they would be honest they should say you need a RTX4. Would be cool if we get different view distance sliders for plants, rocks and dinos. So that we can adjust the performance.
  8. I was in the forest, looking for hives, two cats jumped on me. I decided to let them kill me and did nothing. They circeled around me, tried to attack me, but always missed, so I suicided.
  9. I want to add some critics regarding the fade-in behaviour of forest chunks: There is a significant difference in the rendering of forest and all other stuff. While the other stuff appears only inside our render-bubble, the forest appears in large chunks when touched from the render-bubble. That's the reason why so many vegetation is displayed outside of my normal render-bubble. And the reason for the lag. I guess it was a kind of design decision to say that first large parts of the vegetation should be displayed, so that the far parts of the landscape don't look so empty. But if the price for this is crazy lag when viewing forest, it would be better to remove this chunk-popin at least for low settings.
  10. Nice to know. But currently the filename is Input.ini and the path is: \ARK Survival Ascended\ShooterGame\Saved\Config\Windows\ The question is: Can I modify this file without the steam launcher reverting it?
  11. I have the same issue as long as I use DX12. Game runs only fine with the "-dx11" start parameter.
  12. That's the message I just got while trying to tame a Carno: "Too much tamed creatures on this ARK". Taming bar simply does not progress. But I haven't seen any bases full of dinos like in the past. And now?
  13. Another easy way is to select a stack which is short before spoiling the first piece. You then make "Split All" onto this stack and get them all spoiled at the same time.
  14. I think now the real problem is the view distance. Even at "Low" setting I get vegetation displayed from far away. It would really help if "Low" really would mean low. Can I have "Ultra Low" view distance, please? Or let me set it with a value. That would be great.
  15. True, but they made significant changes. They e.g. removed many metal nodes or made them to oil nodes. I played a lot on the old "The Island" and as I remember there were not that much vegetation like now. It's not only the lag, it's now a kind of totaly blindness what 's going on around you because of the wall of plants.
  16. There are so many areas which are so crammed with trees and bushes, causing bad lag and making it impossible to play there. Maybe the reason was that the devs wanted impress us with the new engine by making ultradense djungles. It looks really way better, but if my framerate goes below 20 fps then I simply avoid this areas and play only in biomes with normal vegetation. When I played ASA first on my old GTX card I knew I have to buy something better, and spent 300 bucks for a RTX3 card. I usually play on low resolution like 1366x768, this gives a huge performance boost compared to those who play on high resolutions. But inspite I have ALL settings turned down to lowest values, I have only fluid gameplay outside of this ultradense vegetation packed areas. So my suggestion to the devs is: OK, we have seen now what the new engine is able to, so just remove half of the trees and bushes from the djungle areas to make them playable.
  17. I drove with my taming raft to an isle, knocked out an Argy, drove him back to my base, finished the taming ... and then it got teleported back to the knockout location far away. For luck I arrived fast enough and rescued him from an attacking Carno. Please fix this.
  18. Some servers crash more often. Maybe more dupers, maybe bad hardware, who knows. But if you wait long enough even the most crashing server will have a better time.
  19. 998 get again nuked 10 times per day. I really had the hope after the last patch it would become better, especially because the enhanced restore was activated (where all players get kicked but the map is immidiately up again). But no, enhanced restore was only for a few days, I can't progress because any progress is nullified because of the frequent restores. When you devs introduced missions into the map in Gen1 you also introduced hundreds of possible exploits and you needed many months to iron out. And now with Gen2 the same. Why do you repeat a game design which brings in hundreds of possible exploits? The Gen2 rush is over, playercount per server is mostly one digit, and the remaining players have to deal with restore after restore after restore ... I guess the enhanced restore costs extra, but you really should enable it for all gen2 servers until you have ironed out this giant mission exploit mess.
  20. 998 get nuked 10 times per day since days. Can we have that enhanced restore where only all players get kicked but immidiately can login again because this enhanced restore keeps the map running?
  21. 998 was nuked 10 times (!) in the last 24 h. (According to battlemetrics)
  22. 998 crashes/got nuked every hour. I experienced the fifth crash today. Impossible to play.
