Today in ark, I fed my dino's and went to some decayed bases and collected the left behind loot. it was a short day, but productive.

there are several player boats sitting under 50/50 now, so if any fall from the sky people have a chance to reclaim them on our valguero server. no ones done anything down inside the ab cave yet at 50/50 though.

Today I hopped on Valguero to do a little metal mining before 2x was over, within 5 minutes of being there i noticed it was getting extreme lag, but i headed out anyhow and went farming, I saw a nice spot of metal that hadn't been farmed yet and went to land, as i did two Chalk golems popped up out of the ground and I quickly flew back up into the sky found a safe rock and dropped my anky off on it, then headed back and led the two chalk golems off the cliff, returning afterwards to get the metal. It turned out to be a nice little hall of 2.5k ingots worth and i headed home. I thought i hadn't seen one of my friends on the server for awhile so i decided to fly to their house and see if they had been on, over 5 allo, a lake and up a cliff, i arrived at their house, 6 days decay left, yep they hadn't been on recently, hope they come back soon, went to fly back to my house and had almost got back and.... the server crashed. When the server finally came back on, i found myself almost dead on the ground, thank god i did a mindwipe and reset my skills from crafting else I would of been dead for sure, I whistled my bird to me and flew back home. looked like we got a 10 minute rollback, so i checked the metal, was still in the forge, and set it to smelting, then headed upstairs and started making a ton of gunpowered, watching the server stutter and stall off and on I decided sense 2x was over i'd head back to the island and hatch some rex eggs. I got on the island and within the first 5 minutes that i was there, DC'ed... I restarted ark as every time i get DC'ed i can't connect to a server unless i do, looked for the server and it was missing... hrm... did it crash? a few moments later it popped back up, 700 ping, 400 ping, 100 ping, ah there we go, checked it a few more times and the ping was fine, I noted that hardly anyone was on it as well, once i got back on, I found everyone got disconnected from it. well... off to what i set to do... hatch rex eggs. I pulled out my 9 eggs and tossed them down in the hatchery room, and sat around for a hour waiting for them to hatch while talking to my tribemate on valguero who was doing the same with wyvern. as the egg was about to hatch, DC'ed... doh... i felt i was going to end up with a dead baby... When i got back on the server, i looked at the egg and it had 2 minutes left... hrm.. rollback? well i was happy the eggs were safe. I picked up 8 of the 9 eggs and quickly stuck them in the fridge, i'll hatch them another day. and as i got back into the hatchery the baby hatched, a nice light grey rex with a green back and dark spine. I claimed it then shoved some meat into its inventory and looked at the stats. 23k health and 1007.8 melee! yes! i was so happy, fed him for a little bit and noticed server was getting choppy so i cryo'ed him and stuck him in the fridge. I stuck around for awhile and just to make sure the server saved a couple times before I headed out. I got a plee of help when I was about to head out from another friend on a ragnarok server, he'd lost his gear and was afraid he was gonna lose his rex too as he had just joined that server, luckly it was one I had a base on, so i grabbed my tapa and headed to obelisk, 9 minutes before i could transfer. hrm... i let him know... then headed to my vault and grabbed some of my backup gear for him, along with a gps and a canteen. once i got on the server another friend from valguero was helping them, and he got his rex back, we met up on the beach down below the castle , and i gave him his new gear along with 2 cryo pods. we all hung around for abit, laughed, and ventured a little then headed back to our bases even though the server was getting some heavy lag spikes, even killed a high level alpha carno. I refreshed my spino trap while i was there and opened the doors so my friends could use it while they were on the server, sense the doors don't actually have to be closed to keep the spino in. then headed back to Valguero. Once back on valguero I went home and started making bullets, finally getting out of the darkages, though i know i'll still use my trusty crossbow and pike, as they have saved me many of times. I was going to craft a nice shotgun blueprint i found but was short on supplies, so i headed out to get some cp so i could make more polymer, at first all went fine, took the materials hopped on bird, killed the beavers, leaving the dams destroyed. but then came that last dam.... as soon as i opened it I was hit by a beaver and it bounced me 1/2 way into the lake, trying to dodge beavers and swim back to shore, samon decided to join in and attack me as well... omg.... my armor started breaking... as i got to the shore, one final hit and i was dead. In fear for my bird, i hopped on the wyvern and quickly flew to the lake across the bay, and i managed to retrieve all my stuff, bird safely sitting on the ground and not one beaver to be found, as quickly as they appeared they all seemed to of vanished as well. well sorry wyvern, no beaver snacks for you! once back home I started making poly and... arg, only 1/2 of what i needed in obsidian... well... we'll leave that for another day. I don't know if wildcard owns the server cluster of if they are leasing it from someone, but the servers seem to need some serious maintenance, talking with the people i play with on 4 of 5 of the servers, they are all experiencing DC's and server crashes. Somethings not right somewhere, hopefully they will straiten it out soon, hopefully before the Genesis launch.

unicorn can only bred with unicorn, no crossbreeding horse species in ark. ===================================== what i did in ark today... ===================================== Both my tribemates were on today, I worked on making some custom recipes on Valguero while they moved stuff from the starter base to our newer base as we all had rooms setup for ourselves in it, and the kitchen and forge area are just about done minus storage. we added the finishing touches with a couple chem benches to two of the rooms, and while one tribe mate sat sorting the items brought from the starter base, me and the other tribe member headed off to the swamp with our kangaroos. once we arrived we landed on a partially built base structure that looked like it had been given up on and moved our argy to a safe spot on it, then noticed there was a alpha rex that had gotten itself trapped under the structure between the pillars, at that point, instead of collecting berries like we planned we picked up the kangaroos and headed back to base. Once we got back to base i put the kangaroos away and found the other tribemate had headed off and i saw 'help!' in chat, he had grabbed his wyvern and headed back to kill the rex, but while he had started fighting it, his wyvern glitched through the floor and was under with the rex, probably how the rex ended up there. I headed off to help him on my wyvern and thats when he told me it was a 150 alpha rex, so i flew in a strait line to help him, not worrying about stam as I flew there knowing i could make it in a single flight. halfway there he said he managed to get free, but i continued my journey there in order to aid in the killing of the rex. after a good 10 minutes of switching back and forth between us both on attacks, I called out on the server and another person from another tribe came to help us. Now there were 3 of us attacking the rex, and we were slowly killing it off. we cleared trees as we hearded the rex to a spot that would have worked great. two of us were down infront of the rex, about to attack again as it had cornered itself at a cliff, just as we begin to attack..... the server crashes. yep... crash, it was offline for a good 5 minutes before it came back up, we were all worried we were going to come back to dead wyverns, I was one of the first to get back on, followed by my tribemate who logged in just after me... as I logged in, I died. I got to see red around the screen and dead.... so I respawned at the one bed we had at the swamp on a small boat, I could see my wyvern hovering as I was running back and thought 'well hell be safe from the rex' as I got half way to my dead body, the green glow vanished and my wyvern flew off... i was like "whao whao DILO!" Then i spotted it, my tribe mate wistled fo the wyvern to follow, I yelled out to him to come back and after abit he showed back up at the swamp base that was partially built. I went to hop on the wyvern and.... one of those leaping crocs grabbed me, took me under the water, and ... dead again... I had to wait to respawn for 4 minutes, the whole time worried that alpha would show up and eat the wyvern... arg... finally I got respawned, jumped on the wyvern and did a quick look around, the other guys wyvern was still there on the ground, but i couldn't see the alpha rex, so I let them know their wyvern was safe for the moment and they were trying to get back on, and finally did. The server had rolled back more then 15 minutes, judging where the wyvern were when we had gotten back on. My mate that had been sorting items back at the main base found that all the sorting he had done had been undone by the rollback and decided to call it quits for the day. My other tribemate stuck around for abit but stuck to the base, same as I sense we weren't sure if another crash was to come as the server was stuttering pretty bad. I ended my day talking with another tribe thats leaving Valguero and heading off to Extinction to play, They have grown tried of the unfixed bugs in valguero and the vanishing dino's as myself, and decided to go to a server that was more stable and didn't have the bugs that are happening in Valguero. After we talked about different things, and we did a shared dicord stream so they could show me their other bases, we called it a night. thus ended another day in ark. ============================================== Valguero Vanishing Dinos ============================================== During our discussion about whats been happening on Valguero, and thinking back to our game play times on older servers, there was the same issue in Abberation once upon a time, the dino's would vanish but, here's the thing, in abberation the dinos spawned at 50/50 on the map. The exact same place on Valguero that has had the ptera/dimorph/Moth ball showing up along with the ptera apocolypse. Now I wouldn't bother mentioning this at all but, several times on the server I play on people have found others Deino's hanging in the sky at 50/50, when those tribes were contacted about it their response was all the same "I wondered where that dino went to". This leads me to believe that the vanishing dinos may be doing the same thing as what was going on with Abberation, getting randomly moved to 50/50, sense I've lost 3 anky 1 ptera and 2 wyvern to them just 'vanishing' Next time this happens im heading off to 50/50 and looking for my dino, both in the sky and down in the ocean, I've already crafted myself several scuba sets. Part of the problem with this is - we are not getting death notices for dino's in the tribe log 1/2 the time, so its hard to tell if your dino is just missing or if it is in fact dead. Anyhow felt I should mention that for anyone else that has had problems with vanishing dino's on Valguero, perhaps it will help you recover your dino before its too late.

if that were the case I wouldn't play on official at all. Only thing you have to pin code to keep others out on official is tek storage, sense it doesn't seem to be able to tell if a tribe member is using it or some random bloke, but its the same on unofficial as well.

Official server. I highly doubt they were stolen. kinda hard to steal someones tamed dino, and the cryofridge was locked. inside a locked building. P.S. you ask how its wildcards fault? well for one they've known about vanishing dino's for almost two weeks yet, and still haven't fixed the issue. (yes wildcard even said they know about it). So yeah, I chalk it up to wildcards fault.

went on to valguero today, was going to pull out my baby wyverns again and feed them. went to cryofridge.... they weren't there. i knew i had stuck them in the cryofridge, so i thought 'well maybe a rollback' so.... checked inventory... nope. checked every container.... nope. checked every dino.... nope. My baby wyvern and their cryopods just gone.... a 155 and 150.... this ruined my day. Love how things like this just "seem to happen" and continue to happen.... Thus far i've lost ..... 2 wyvern 155/150 that i was raising - just vanished. 1 anky with 400 melee and 1k weight - just vanished from infront of my forge. 1 tek parasaur that was in turrent mode in the middle of my building thats in the middle of my walled area... just gone without a trace. I've felt i've had items vanishing too, as I am missing a chemistry station i made in the fabricator and a fabricator that both were going to be placed in my smithy room, yet, no where to be found in any container / dino / inventory. this event today litterally made me rage quit the game. Good job Wildcard.

Spent abit of time on Valguero Making kibble from deino eggs and getting ready for the weekend, hoping to get a few more dino's to add to my small base, well, I consider it small, its about 1/3rd the size of my island base. After I was done with the kibble, I did a bit of decorating in my main house... you know, there really aren't a lot of pieces to use to flush out your house, I hope they do add the primitive plus items to the main game as well, so that we can decorate abit more. I sstup one room the best I could to make it look like a little study, using the smithy as a desk, a fireplace, some large storage boxes, and a couple beds. it didn't turn out too shabby, even hung a war map above the smithy and slapped a chair down in front of it. Afterwards I headed to my island map base, did a little more construction there on the project that was already going on, fed my element gacha some stone so that I could keep my tech generators running, and bred some eggs with the high melee rexs hoping to get some more 1008 melee rexs out of the mix that I can use to down breed levels. at the same time I I pulled 3 of my higher level rex female juvi's out of cryo and let them grow while I was working on all this, taking my giga out occationally to collect meat to refill the two tex troughs. All in all it came out well, the female rexs are now at 50% growth, I got 40 element in the tek trough, and did some more work on the exterior walling of the base to make it look a little prettier. I also got 9 rex eggs down to 1 hr hatch time left, so on Monday I can hop on the island and hatch n' grow some rexs. And perhaps get these 4 ladies almost up to being adult. All in all, its been a productive day I think.

Today i hopped on the offical Valgeuro server with no plans in mind, I'd been working hard on getting my base built there, found a nice flat spot in the chalk that wasn't pillared and after a few weeks its looking pretty nice, but i needed a break from the grind. so, i grabbed my argy and flew to the little dino pin I had built seprately up on the hillside close by, filled with mostly with horses I had gotten during the event. I set the three unicorns to mate, and headed out on my argy. I wandered about the map for awhile, and people on the server were being a little edgy, so i mostly kept to myself and flew around exploring areas I hadn't been to. I spotted a 150 rex not to far from my base and decided to tame it, flew over close to it while it was busy chomping on a doedic, hopped off and took aim, after shooting it 3 times the rex proceeded to run away from me... wait... 3 shots with a crossbow? it should be chasing me... but I ended up chasing it, shooting it multiple times, finally the rex stopped, let out its roar and i figured it would start chasing me, but nope, after it roared, it faced me, then ran off to the left, there i was chasing it again. by the time I finally knocked the rex out, it was almost at the front gate of my base, I felt like i had chased it forever. I stood there watching over it during the tame, only had to kill two raptors to keep it safe, and after it was done taming.... I found it had worse stats then the 130 i had tamed the previous day. after that i wandered abit more, and one of my two tribemates logged in, they headed off to a cave to get some loot crates and I made a trade deal for a event color argy to breed with my argys, so i proceeded to collect wood back on the newb islands. apparently all hell broke lose in the cave between my tribemate and another tribe, their dinos were blocking the exit so he couldn't get out and things just escalated between them both from there, mostly because of a language barrier i think. Anyhow after that was all calmed down, my other tribemate logged in and we all headed out to go do some caves, but due to miscommunication on what was at the caves, we weren't prepared, and it ended our joureny quickly. Once again i found myself alone on the server as one tribe member headed to bed, and the other headed off to work. So i started wandering again, and came across a spino, I was feeling a little bored so i decided to tame it even though it was only a lvl 20, perhaps i could get some eggs from her. It was a pretty quick tame being it was still 2x, and afterwards I still had a bunch of mutton left, while heading back to base with spino I spotted a 135 ptera that was stuck in a trap, yep had to tame it. while i was taming that one 2 compy decided to run up and nip at my heals, couple trank darts later a 145, and 150 compy were out, hey, I had mutton why not? so i tamed them as well. While waiting on the 135 ptera to finsh taming, a 145 landed right in front of me, bola'ed and proceeded to tame it as well. So the day wasn't a total loss. Oh man the unicorns! Headed back to base and had a few minutes to wait on the unicorns, after a short time out popped a 158 and a 111 unicorn baby. I was happy, fed them some berries then cryo'ed them to take care of another day. Fed my dino's and decided to call it a night. still more to do on the base, but it was nice to take a breather from just building and wander around abit, even though i didn't have any idea what I wanted to do. well... till the next day.

I went to my main base and cryopodded all my dino's except 5, so i have less to worry about while i play with the new character on the new dlc map. its been a struggle as alpha rexs keep wandering into my base there, lost 3 freshly tamed rexs in 3 days do to that and a bronto, so many hours of taming just gone. Still trying though, hopefully i'll get a decent base made soon

Today, and all weekend, I've been reworking my base on the island. because I am trying to keep resources safe around me (stone, metal, trees) I've extended my base off shore giving myself a large 22x24 platform addition to the base, Know I've placed well over 600 pillars for supports, placing them from the ceilings all the way down to the seafloor every 2 ceilings. Most of todays construction was working on the exterior wall on the front half of the base area, a 2 foundation wide wall with a slanted ceiling. Pillars 4 high every 2 walls, stone walls 2 high, then greenhouse windows, then wooden walls and finally the slanted roof. One section I placed a behemoth gate, which will have a bridge coming off of it toward the main land, I plan on making it look fancy too. Tore down some of the buildings inside the wall and got all the foundation blocks lined up. still much to do though, only about 1/3rd of the exterior wall is done in total. Once the exterior wall is completed, the plan is to move all the vaults from the last two buildings into my tower, then pull down the misaligned buildings and rebuild the ground area so its all lined up. Then, inside the wall area there will be several buildings to house dinos and different production areas, and a few personal houses for tribesmen to live in. at the back of the base there is a large tower that was built up prior starting the rebuild of the main area, and before starting on the walls, I built 4 gacha pens that house a pair of gacha and 5 owls each to mass produce Element Dust, Obsidian, Crystal and Organic Polymer. Being that the resources nearby are safe from being blocked, it will be easy to feed the gacha. I also extended my baby pen out and made it abit larger inside so that I could keep larger dinos in it longer before moving them outside, like rexs and yuty. Its got a tek gen with 2 tek troughs that cover the full length of the building for feeding those inside and just outside of the hatchery. Its been a week 1/2 project so far with everything that's been done, but I think its coming along nicely, and the idea of making it look more like a town rather then a big building (now that less kibble dino's are needed) I think will work in nicely. Some people have given me some nice complements to what I've been doing there, so its keeping me building, I do like building

boulders, no cannon balls, but they are just as much of a pain to tame as a rock elemental, but die quicker due to misses.

you have to shoot the crab with boulders directly in the face, if you miss it does major damage to them, very easy to kill the crab while trying to knock it out. To top it off there is no way to recover a crab once it falls through the map, it will just keep falling till it hits the death plane (part of the engine) as the crab is a bottom walker not a swimmer. so Both the doedic and the crab will be killed due to Wildcard not fixing a known issue sense 2017.

what did I do in ark today..... I just lost my Crab & My Doedic UNDER THE MAP while farming rock on Herbivore island on the TOP MOST section, this caused me to Rage quit the game. Crabs are a major pain in the arse to tame in the first place and then losing one to this?? not only that but my Doedic as well? this is just.... yeah.... I can't say how I really feel at the moment as its probably forum ban worthy..

today I started yet another major rebuild on my base, slowly dismantling parts of the base and replacing them with new parts as I move along. Very time consuming but, I do enjoy building and taking down and rebuilding parts of the base to make the base even better is always fun. This time I think im going to make the base look more like a small town, now that I don't need as many different types of dinos for kibble eggs, it should make having kibble dinos out a bit easier and not taking up so much space. Tomorrow, and the next day, more base reconstruction and Element Veins! need that element for tek stuff

I don't get it... seems most just read ' will be enabled Tuesday' then went ballistic about it before continuing to read 'the 21st' which is, totally, 1 week from today. So … all you going 'gah I have less then 24hrs! wc you suck' need to go back, re-read the article, and then apologize for your comment. Thank you Wildcard for restoring my character and imprints, I'm glad that I was able to finish off the work that I had started with baby dino's and only losing one in the process. i'm going to make sure to let my friends know as well, many don't read the website and rely on word of mouth for upcoming things like this.

Structure & Dino Decay is shut off currently while the address the problems that 112 caused for many players, losing their character and being unable to complete their baby's, feed their dinos, and maintain their bases. They stated that the decay was going to be off for 1 month, with a weeks warning to when it will be turned back on. So until then, expect rendering lag to grow, and last for up to 15 days after while you wait for the abandoned bases to decay (even longer for the tech items).

Game suggestion - Fix the server stalls happening on the Official Servers. Its really hard to play when you have server stalls happening every 5 minutes that last up to 1 minute. Not to mention all the rubber banding introduced with the Easter Patch.
