Krixasgaming
Griffin Hatching help Is one able to feed a baby griffin if the mother is not in the picture? I had a egg given to us but unsure if we will be able to feed the baby when it hatches due to no mother!
XaosRes
No, the baby griffin must always stay very near to the mother otherwise it will starve, it don‘t eat or can‘t be fed.
nintendogamer7
It must be next to an adult FEMALE griffin, not necessarily the mother. Allies’ female griffins will work as well as long as it is close enough to her. This is only required until it reaches the juvenile stage of its development. TypicalArkGamer
Like @XaosRes and @nintendogamer7 said, it must be close to a female griffin. If you don't have one yourself, you could try talking with an allie with a female griffin and see if he will let you. And if not, you could at least turn that egg into griffin kibble in order to tame one yourself faster.

LuminalChimera6
I have a second baby after the first reached juvenile stage but it says it's insecure while still next to it's mother. I've also tried putting it next to another female of the same surname
