minimal structure and un-cryo'd tame servers New Server type with a maximum tribe limit of 30 uncryo'd tames, 800 structures [foundations, wall, doors, etc...] and limited to 20 tribes with structures. I could be wrong but its been my observation that PVE servers have been almost unplayable because of huge bases and crazy amounts of tames. PVP servers do not have the same issues with over population of tames and huge bases filling up a map as they self police themselves from the gluttony. This excessive clutter leads to lag, DC's and crashes. When I first started playing ARK there were many times when the server would be full and you had to wait for someone to log out so you could get in and we did not have the issues we have now. So I reject the idea that the reason for the issues is the number of people on at one time. Our extinction server rarely has more than a dozen players and lags and crashes all the time. These new maps could be smaller to help naturally restrict over population and clutter. This is what I thought they were doing to some degree with Genesis with separate Biomes, but it was our experience that the server we played on became unstable only after a month. I love this game. I have been playing since 2015 on multiple systems: PS4, PC, mobile, Switch [I even tried Pixark]. I'm not the best player. It's only been since extinction that I really started advancing into Tek and getting comfortable with boss fights. It makes me sad that now that I'm close to the pinnacle of the game and I can not play without the frustration of lag, crashes and getting booted. I really don't want to give up on the game, and if it means I have to play with some heavy restrictions I'll take it.
Performance Tweaks Hello, not sure if this info has been released to Xbox but I have some tweaks that may help with the current lag and fps issues. All these settings just type into the console... sg.groundclutterquality 0 r.bloomquality 0 r.lightshafts 0 r.viewdistancescale 1 r.ssr.quality 0 r.sss.scale 0 r.upsamplequality 0 Now the clutter settings does effect performance but what I noticed was only a couple fps difference when set to 1. The view distance quality has a odd effect when you turn it to 4. This does effect fps greatly but the performance seems to be replaced with a lot less game freezing if the number is higher. However lower gives better fps and if you make it lower then 1 then things in the world will not load. I hope this helps you guys out.
This seems to be a lingering issue amongst some Xbox players that has never been answered or resolved. Can we figure out what's going on? TL;DR: Textures are not loading. The graphics look low-quality and seem to never fully load. This happens for both dinos and structures, and seems to be getting worse and worse over time. I'm on an OG Xbox One, running a private dedicated from a second OG Xbox One, though I've recently seen the same issue reported on Nintrado servers and single player. More info: The problem started happening roughly when Aberration came out. I can't pinpoint exactly when (before or after), but I recall seeing the issue uncommonly the first time I played Aberration. It started with textures just seeming to take a while to load. Eventually, they'd pop in after I had been around the base a while. But the issue got worse. When my small tribe and I started fresh on The Island, I'd noticed that some textures stopped loading completely. Specifically on structures and things like storage boxes and dinos. Eventually that last layer of texture/detail just siezed to exist on everything and I've been living with it ever since. It's even worse on Extinction. Any Extinction-specific dinos just look like vague blobs and shapes until I've been staring at them for 10-20 seconds and they finally render into a recognizable form. Since the issue started happening, I've been scouring these forums as well as Reddit and it seems like the issue has never been answered. It was acknowledged by mods here a couple times that they'd "look into it", but alas, here we are a year later. I've tried: - Uninstalling and re-installing Ark. - Clearing console cache. - Deleting local save game data for Ark. I've also heard of people attempting to adjust graphical settings like bloom quality to try to fix, with no success. I've come to terms with the probable fact that it's a performance issue that can never be "fixed", but I'd like to know a few things: - Is there a fix? - If not, then what causes this issue, why was it not an issue before, and why has it gotten worse? - Who else is experiencing this issue and what are your circumstances? (Which Xbox do you use, and how are you playing, etc.?) ((I'm currently at work, but will see if I can attach pictures as an example later)) Thanks in advance!
Performance/Lag FIX! (reduce number of specific creature) As you can see on the screenshot, people are practically limitless breeding dino's causing EXTREME framedrops. Having multiple of these bases close, its LITERALLY unplayable at 1-5 fps....its UNACCEPTABLE. Now...those people have bases JUST ONLY for LAG....oh i mean, "breeding"..nothing more. This game is fun and you should be able to do anything you can, however WITHIN LIMITS! Just like "turret limits" "tame limits" "plant x sway animation limit", etc. - Wildcard: Additionally add a limation to the amount of creatures you can have of ONE type. - Perhaps make breeding more efficient and faster, to compensate for MASS BREEDING FARMS.... Seriously, Ced or anyone from Wildcard go have a base near this one (example), and do your thing, its literally unplayable. It has nothing to do with my PC, its pure UNLIMITED use of animations and assets.... - Also, add shorter range of "low quality animations". - It seems that the tails of the managarmr are really really really fancy, that they cause additional performance impact. If its not my base, not my creatures, they are inside a base, and i should not see them or that player is NOT there, the ANIMATIONS SHOULD BE MINIMAL!!
