I've found a cave underwater and there is a lot of fish meat there. It tries to eat me in turn but thats even more fun that way. Also its good for leveling dinos because its high-level fish meat. But I heard caves are somehow special thus I wonder: are they one-time or they too respawn and are accessible forever?

Thanks for reply! Does that mean that for structures, on servers where it is enabled, they can disappear right in from of me? For dinos, where it is since last login, is it login of and tribe member or exactly the player who tamed them? I understand that for people who lives and developed with Ark for years it is all obvious, but for beach bobs its not:) And I too chose to leave on the beach though its a lil cold here at times, but I want to know the rules how it works, and its nowhere written to be found.

Playing single-player, "Disable Structures Decay PVE" setting was unchecked by default, tooltip says that by default everything "decays" in 7 days. I checked it, to be safe, but nowhere found exact mechanics of how it works: does it mean that people who forgot to uncheck it rebuild all their stuff every 7 days? Does that mean that on official servers everyone have to repair each and every building section to prevent it fall apart? That would be tedious to say the least. Or they don't have to because raiders destroy it faster and all structures are considered super-temporary anyway ? The worse for dino decay. They untame or disappear? Rebuilding is one thing but every dino is unique its super long time to find one with good wild level/stats, not to mention breeding as I've read it takes weeks or longer on official, and than they just "decay"? Super confusing setting for me as a new player. How does it exactly work? p.s. googling only gave me long discussions on pillared lands and that being a problem, but not exactly any data on solution implemented, thus unknown which of wild ideas from back than is "works as it should" now.

Anyone can tell if there is a simple enough way (w/o programming API calls but with just file manipulation) to install ASE mods on PC w/o Steam? I know there is TEK Launcher but preferably avoiding 3rd party tools, other then TotalCommander and Notepad

Ouch. They have different release dates on different platforms. Even different on Steam and Epic on PC. What a mess

I'd go with ASE now because it seems to be much more mature and developed, with less bugs than ASA yet, so even if ASA were released on Epic or Gog right now I doubt I would try it before another year or so of patches (it's how I usullay play games: let someone else test and debug it:) On ASE it seems comparably easy to setup cross-platform, and there are plenty of guides even the one on old Wiki here https://ark.fandom.com/wiki/Dedicated_server_setup I'm just unsure if I want to use SteamCMD, or find another way, and when. With your own server its your rules, full filesystem access and you can backup anything: saves, settings

Hi Can someone point to an official (or at least wiki) page where all ASE DLCs (including extras like The Center and Fjordur) release dates were published? Some people wrote the order on Reddit but can one trust what random people write in Reddit?

I've never played on a console since what.. Sega Mega Drive? But maybe you can access its filesystem somehow and get your world files and try to restore your world or at least Character on PC? Its possible that backup world files are created on console same way they do on PC (and on PC Ark backups Every world At Least three times, so many times it crashed it restores nicely at least)

Not sure if this is the thread to ask... but is that true that one can't play on official servers without accepting spyware on their device (PC)? Is that so for many modern games?

On PC I had a LOT of crashes initially. To the extent there were "prohibited areas" (usually with lots of dinos and useful stuff) I could not really cross and dangerous to come near (dangerous to look at - it crashed on looking) Until I found magic parameter "-norhithread" No crashes any more, settings mostly High/Epic (except Shadows and Textures are on Medium) I hope you'll find some kind of alike solution for console
