  1. The Minmi is a well armored "Battle Buddy" useable all the way to end game with a large health pool, Natural armor plating that gets better with use, and can be EQUIPED in your Shield slot OR on your shoulder for different defensive abilities and bonuses! Please forgive my spelling and grammar. Its adorable and tough as nails, the armor plating on its back is as strong as steel! With the proper training this little guy will make BIG changes to Shoulder Pet usage. Carful though, The Minmi is Heavy and Not much of a fighter on its own. Minmi's can easily be 300lbs! making them kind of slow moving similar to its Ankylosaurus Cousins. They live off a hefty diet of fruits, berries, and veggies that grow close to the ground. Eating about it's body weight a day! Needing to stay near the food and enjoying the sounds of water, you'll find the youngest of them in the greenest zones. With that said the Minmi is a solitary creature, Minmi's are hatched and cared for till they can walk, then just kind of wonder off on their own. This is possible because of the armor plating growing and hardening very quickly, replacing damaged plates just as quick explaining the large food intake it needs. Minmi's will wonder from a zone that over supplies their needs compared to the amount of damage they take regularly, meaning Minmi's can be found Migrating out into Badlands and into alternate Hot and Cold lands for a new place to call home. Taming Minmi's takes time, trust, and Grown Fruits and Veggies. Providing it with different types till you find its favorite! The individual Minmi will do the "Petted" animation after eating the food it wants to be fed, continuing to feed it this fruit or veggie is the 1st step to getting a 100% bond! The other thing is so easy its hard to NOT allow happen. All Minmi's will wanna show you what they can do, after finding out its favored food, it will let out a taunting call to near by wild creatures and go into a defensive stands, while its getting attacked you capitalize on the distraction and backstab the assaulting creatures! This will impressing the Minmi and it will want to be fed again to prepare for another call! Eventually the Minmi will decide your its Partner and stay by your side no matter what! Carrying the Minmi is a cumbersome load to haul around BUT worth the carry weight, A Minmi on your shoulder will provide you with a defense buff, however if you pet it 1st the buff is spread to friendly tames and tribe members around you as a limited effect that continues for a time after words. With the Minmi on your shoulder you can launch it forward like a bowling ball, it will travel a ways based on your damage stat and damage enemies in its path! once it comes to a stop it will let out a Taunting call and take a defensive stands, acting as a distraction to enemy tames and wildlife. After the attack stop it will exit defensive stands and (if following you) run back to you to be picked up again. Wielding the Minmi on your forearm (shield slot) it wraps its 4 legs around your arm and holds on tight! Allowing you to use your Minmi as a shield that can out last a steel shield! Running is slowed when holding your Minmi this way but the speed decrease can easily be nullified by a high speed stat or by jumping on a mount to get where your going. The Minmi will take damage when wielded like this from your attackers, Blocking you entirely, and your Minmi gets another similarity from its Anky cousins... Its tail, while not much of a club or any real strength to swing it with, they let the attacks do the work for them. When used as a shield the Minmi Damages the attacker for a % of the attackers damage stat as blow back damage! If you and your Minmi can hold out long enough its possible the unrelenting attackers maybe be their own undoing!! The Minmi is Knockback resistant to large creatures and immune to medium creatures and smaller. This knockback resistance/immunity is something you too benefit from when the Minmi is on your person, shoulder or arm. However the Minmi, when in its Solo Defensive Stands, has its Knockback resistance increased by double against large creatures, which is impossible for a player to benefit from. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minmi_paravertebra#Discovery_and_species IDK what I'm doing, I'm just a guy who had an idea and seen a dino to partner it with. I'm passionate about this submission and welcome constructive criticism. The Tames focus on Defense is NOT something I'm willing to change course on. I'm no artist so none of these pictures are mine and the one I barrowed from IRONHIDE456 I scribbled on but really loved the art. QuesoTheCheese and Nickevon also submitted Minmi posts in the past
  2. Australopithecus- Humanities Return To Monkey Au-stral-O-pith-ecus OR Austal Wild - In the Wild Australopithecus live in small family groups wandering inside the sunken forest and last city as nomads. Their incredible intelligence, and humanoid appearance has led some survivors to speculate that these may in fact actually be modified humans, or at least be modified to act more like humans. This is of course just a conspiracy theory as there's no way humanity would do this to themselves, right? Either way there's no denying that these small primitive humans are actually quite successful at living on the new element polluted Earth. Taming - Wild Australs are actually quite tolerant of humans as long as their hands are empty. It seems they are actually quite happy to partake in trade for tasty foods, and basic materials they will trade tools and weapons they've found, recovered, and or possibly stolen to any survivors that approach them in good faith. After many successful trades with the same person the Austral may decide to go along with their new friend. (instead of the typical taming bar it's a random chance that increases as their traded with) Abilities - Will ride on your back like a baby monkey (Shoulder Pet). - Halved weight of items in inventory like a Sinocrops (Their a backpack). - Able to mimic human whistles to confuse enemy dinos momentarily. - Their small stature and hair covered bodies give them a natural ghillie effect hiding them from wild creatures when not being carried. - Gains an XP buff the more Australs there are. - They can equip hats, gloves, and pants. - By using level ups you can train them to be proficient in the use of one chosen firearm (Pistol, ShotGun, or AR). Damage is greatly reduced but they can train up to almost the same efficiency as a human with high level investment. Why You Should Vote - Respect your ancestors', return to MONKEY!!! - A shoulder pet wining would be a nice change of pace. - We didn't get a gun monkey last time, lets get it this time. - Only 1 other species of human in Ark, Great pick for diversity LOL. TLDR Trades with you, Backpack, Monkey Guns, Return To Monkey!!! I Honestly love that this could be made into a planet of the Apes Reference please WC, Extinction is a great map to it too.
  3. This is my submission for the community vote for a creature for the Extinction DLC. I’m going to do the first little bit in Dossier format because it is a useful base. Wild: They Cacops are not to different from those I used to know only through fossils, though admittedly a little bit bigger. They seem rather peaceful, hanging around beaches. They like to eat bugs, which they catch with their long strong tongue, though I am not sure that they had this tongue naturally in the past. Perhaps the tongue is like the venom spitting of Dilophosaurus I have encountered. Domesticated: Once you befriend and domesticate a Cacops, they can be a useful companion. They can ride on their owner’s shoulder and have a calming effect on people. Their tongue can be used to grapple creatures many times the Cacops’s size and experience survivors can even use their Cacops as a living grappling hook. They also seem to have no qualms with being used as living pillows, and they as so cute! Cacops drawing Wiki page I think that Cacops would be passively tamed. As an amphibian there would probably be a tadpole form that hatches from eggs laid by a Cacops that would in turn grow up into the air breathing Cacops. As the real world Cacops was very small, I think it would be sized up in Ark, but no bigger than a cat I’d say. (Sorry there is no fancy color or anything on this submission.)
  4. Hi everyone, Extinction is the only paid DLC that doesn't have a shoulder pet that came out of that expansion, so here's a concept for one, I hope you enjoy it! Dossier Creature Image source: https://a-dinosaur-a-day.com/post/711975861645115392 Species: Jakapil Kaniukura Time: Cretaceous Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Territorial Wild Of all the creatures that I have come across, Jakapil Kaniukura seems very peculiar to me due to its behavior, despite its small size it is very aggressive if you get too close to it, it also seems to have adopted a peculiar combat strategy: it wraps around its own body and He propels himself towards the target with such force that his opponent is stunned. Domesticated Jakapil Kaniukura exhibits beneficial behavior to survivors who manage to gain the trust of this temperamental friend, many using his ability to roll up as a portable cannonball for self-defense, and others finding it useful for breaking and collecting rocks. Jakapil seems to have a special interest in heavy siege weapons like the cannon, perhaps the more inventive and shameless survivors will think of using them as ammunition for their weapons. Taming To tame the Jakapil you need to place a training dummy near it, the Jakapil will start jumping towards it and deal damage over time, during that process the Jakapil will get hungry from time to time and will be given berries or regular kibble, If the training dummy breaks and it has not yet been tamed, it will be necessary to place another one. Information Statistics Drops Abilities Passives -While on the player's shoulder the player takes 20% less damage and is immune to stun. -The stone weighs 75% less than its normal weight within the Jakapil's inventory. - When the Jakapil has 15% of its total health it wraps itself in its own body and takes 60% less damage (Similar to Doedicurus). -It can be thrown from the player's shoulder like a shot-put sport (Example image below). Image source: https://arc-anglerfish-arc2-prod-abccolor.s3.amazonaws.com/public/H5TP4OMAEFAD7PUDXYGPY2WSGE.jpg -Properties of the Jakapil being thrown: When the Jakapil is thrown by the player it wraps around its own body and takes 60% less damage until it hits a target with 70 base damage. Hitting an enemy player or a creature with a drag weight of 300 or less will stun the target for 10 seconds. The Jakapil can break trees and rocks in its path when launched, collecting their resources and staying on course. The Jakapil can be fired from catapults and cannons, multiplying its base damage of 70 by 10 and 50 respectively. The Jakapil produces a sticky substance from its mouth, allowing it to attach itself to the player or siege weapon and return to the player after hitting a target. Attacks Collectibles
  5. TL;DR - Gobiraptor Minutus is a small theropod that attaches to Corrupted creatures in the Wasteland to feed off their Element. Kill the creature it's on and feed it Element to tame it. Keep it fed or it will enter an enraged "Hangry" mode. Naturally sniffs out explorer notes and scares off small creatures like pegos/microraptor. With interchangeable craftable TEK modules, it can use HLN-A's scan ability and stun TEK creatures and equipment for a short time. A rare costume can be obtained from Corrupted Alphas that allows you to 3-D print skins. Dossier: Wild: Gobiraptor Minutus is a big deal for such a little guy. It can be found in the wastelands around the Sanctuary City - well, actually found on the Corrupted creatures in the Wasteland! Gobiraptor has found a unique way of processing the Element that usually corrupts creatures and as such it latches onto larger infected creatures and feeds off them! Taming: Taming one of these little ones is a unique challenge; the first step is to remove them from the creature they're attached to by killing the creature without hurting the gobiraptor. They can latch onto something as small as Triceratops or something as dangerous as a Gigantosaurus! And the task of removal is difficult in itself: attempting to kill the creature with a tame is too imprecise, so you'll have to do it manually. In addition, if the gobiraptor takes damage at any point it will scurry off or - worse - die! The best trick we've found is to use a precise weapon like a sniper or bow to kill the Corrupted Creature. Once it's off you can feed it some form of Element, until it's tamed. Be careful though! If it finds another Corrupted Creature to latch onto you'll have to start all over! Domesticated: Aside from being adorable, these guys have a variety of uses for just about any type of Survivor! Santiago even made some cute little helmets for them! My personal favorite is what he calls the Data Scanner: helpful for looking at a creature's information. Santiago likes the Pulse Extender better - apparently it amplifies the natural bio-electricity of the little guy to temporarily fry nearby TEK - useful against those defense units. Even without the addons, Gobiraptor is quite useful. He can sniff out nearby data points, frighten away pesky creatures like pegomastax and microraptor. Finally, Gobiraptor also has the ability to temporarily power nearby electronics - like a short term, portable, bio-battery! As an addendum, Kaz was able to find a 3-D printer in the stomach of one of the larger carnivores. If you attach it to Gobiraptor, the Element it passively eats will charge the printer and you can print some unique costumes. Seeing Kaz walking around with bunny ears on his head is worth all the trouble I've been through. Make sure to feed your little guy. If he gets too hungry, he'll get hangry and start attacking you and your tames. -* So the idea with this creature was originally a bot, but I wasn't sure if that was allowed so I picked a cute dinosaur to adapt the idea to. Extinction has long been missing a shoulder pet, and I was wondering what would be the most useful creature for a survivor who has already beaten the ARKs and is now facing down the Titans. Gobiraptor perches on the medium to large size Corrupted creatures in the Wasteland. Before you can even begin the taming you have to find one you want to tame, then kill whatever it's attached to - it could be as mundane as a Trike or as terrifying as a Giga! And you can't use creatures - it will instantly kill the Gobiraptor. Additionally, weapons like shotguns or TEK rifles can hurt the Gobiraptor which will cause it to flee and despawn. So you need to kill the creature with a precision weapon. Once the creature is dead, Gobiraptor will be a little lost and just stand there, confused for a few seconds. This is the perfect time to run in and feed it some Element! At first it'll just take dust, then shards, then whole Element, repeating the cycle until tamed - similar to Astrodelphis. After eating it will curl up and take a nap. When it wakes up you can feed it again! Be careful though, feeding Gobiraptor Element will trigger an effect similar to basilos and attract nearby Corrupted creatures - and if one large enough gets close, Gobiraptor will latch on and you'll have to start all over. I thought this would be a tough and unique taming method while not being as infuriating as amargasaurus. It gives the Wasteland some life and a bit of challenge to the corrupted creatures. Alone, Gobiraptor will scare off the more pesky creatures of the ARKs like pegos, microraptor, etc. similar to a Sinomacrops. Additionally it can sniff out explorer notes like a direwolf - something I really wish a shoulder pet could do. There are two TEK helmets you can craft and equip on it: The DATA Sensor and the Pulse Extender. The DATA Sensor gives you HLN-A's scanning ability while the Pulse Extender allows the Gobiraptor to temporarily stun TEK equipment/creatures. It has a limited range and short effect - but enough to give you a head start getting away or turn an ambush into a fair fight. The PAC Attachment (Purify Absorb Convert) goes in the costume slot. Overtime as Gobiraptor consumes Element it will build charge which it will store in the PAC. You can use this charge as a form of currency to 3-D print skins! As a bonus I'd love an exclusive skin set to Gobiraptor - maybe a Corrupted TEK skin set. While the other two modules can be crafted, the PAC can only be found as a rare drop from Corrupted Alphas. It will be broken when you find it and you'll have to repair it. The battery part I'm iffy on, but to round it out I included it. Basically Gobiraptor can be placed down and set into battery mode. It will consume more Element (Like Daeodon) and power structures in a small range. Finally, Gobiraptor's allegiance is only bought with Element, fail to feed it and it will quickly turn on you and your tames. While it is in "Hangry Mode" it will attack tames and you, and also damage any TEK related items or structures in an attempt to feed. You can try to pacify it with Element but good luck - it's fast moving and deadly when enraged - you'll probably end up having to kill it. 6. Common Name: Velociraptor Species: Velociraptor mongoliensis Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Evasive/Agressive Variants: Corrupted Velociraptor, Tek Velociraptor Dossier: The Velociraptor is a small carnivore that usually travels in groups of 4 - 8 to hunt larger creatures, but sometimes you will find a Velociraptor alone. When he is alone, he usually hunts Dodos and Lystrosaurs, and when a larger creature get closer, he flees. It is possible to see Velociraptors all over region, mainly in the Sanctuary and Wasteland. When tamed, the Velociraptor will be an extremely loyal shoulder creature, that when the survivor is very injured and beig attaked, the tamed Velociraptor will jump from your shoulder and defend you from the enemy creture, and, if necessary, it will sacrifice itself for you. To tame him, you need to find a lone Velociraptor, and crouch behind him to offer him food, and little by little, he will gain your trust.
  7. Hello! Extinction was the first map I ever played on when I first bought ARK in 2018 and it's been one of my favourites since! BUT, there is something that I had recently noticed about it and that was the fact it didn't have its own shoulder pet like the other story maps do! INTROUDCING THE STINKBOMB! The Stinkbomb can be found all over the wasteland, where it blends in with the other Corrupted Creatures of the map. Because of this, large Corrupted Creatures, like the Rex and Giga, barely notice it! Non Corrupted and Smaller Corrupted Creatures, like the Raptor and Dilo, do notice it and will try and kill them! Once the Stinkbomb gets below 50% of its health it will play dead and release a gas, with a effect similar to Chalicotherium's poops, which will drive away whatever is attacking it! The Stinkbomb will be "Playing Possum" for 30 seconds, which will give the player an opportunity to sneak over to it and tame it! They have a taming method similar to the Astrodelphis in Genesis: Part 2, where you have to feed them Kibble (Their favorite!) to tame them. Depending on the level, they will want certain tiers of Kibble. Once they wake up, they will run away, but curiously follow you from a distance for a certain amount of time. If they see you walking up to them, they will pass out again (Watch out! They will still release the gas!) and you then have a opportunity to feed them more Kibble! Repeat this process until you tame your new friend! What does your new little friend do? The Stinkbomb helps you tame creatures faster! I love taming creatures in ARK, but the food drain on a lot of them is painfully slow. The Stinkbomb will release a gas from it that will slowly decrease the hunger on any creature you are trying to tame! The stats for the Stinkbomb work the same as a light pet from Aberration! With Stamina being how long the smells will be released, Oxygen being how fast it will regenerate said lost smells and Melee being the range at which the appetizer effect will effect its surroundings! You can also craft a "Appetizer Grenade" in its inventory that will effect players, tamed and wild creatures! Recipe: 20x Narcoberries, 15x Stimberries, 5x Spoiled Meat, 1x Smoke Grenade. Dossier (Please note: I'm not good at English, so apologies if there are any mistakes!) "I never thought I would see Trichosurus Vulpecula ever again when I left Oz, but here they are surviving rather well. These little guys have managed to blend in with the corrupted creatures of the wasteland, rather that be their decaying color scheme or the element within them to trick the corrupted creatures isn't certain. Wild: Like their western relative, when they are a target to predators they will, depending on the creature, either outrun them or "Play Possum" and ammit a foul smell that will chase away whatever is trying to eat them. Once they are in the clear they will jump back up and continue scavenging around for anything they can find to eat. Tamed: Other then their foul smelling magic trick, these guys have the ability to also give off a smell that makes creatures loose their appetite quicker then normal. This makes taming creatures a lot quicker. This ability can also be used to make what I like to call “Appetizer Grenades”, these can be crafted in the possums inventory which it can then be throw to creatures (or people) that are to far away to reach. This makes these guys the real Stinkbomb."
  8. Wild- In all my years I never expected to find a eusocial pterosaur, let alone one with such a... unique method of defense. Sordes cornucrepitus are related to the more common dimorphodon, yet unlike their cousins they are extremely aggressive in the wild, resting in their towering wasteland hive structures where their king and queen sit safely at the central chamber. Whenever prey or predators venture too close to the hive a specialized caste of drone are released from the hive in droves whose only purpose is to dive bomb the enemy and through a process of muscular constriction rupture their own bodies, explode on impact dealing grievous damage to their target. The process in which the creatures self detonate is fascinating, possessing several specialized organs full of volatile chemicals surrounded by constricting muscular structures, at a whim the creature can constrict these structures, building enough pressure that the creatures body cavity ruptures, exposing the chemical contents to the air and causing a violent explosion full of bone shrapnel. The self destructive drones hatch ready to fly within moments and ready to give their lives in defense of their hive. Taming- Taming your own hive of sordes is a daunting task, one must approach and rile the hive, surviving the swarming onslaught of exploding drones, if one can exhaust the hives supply of drones then the king will emerge and attack the survivor, being the largest and most dangerous member of the hive this will in itself be a dangerous task, the king is a swift flier armed with sharp teeth and vitality surprising for such a small creature. When the king sordes falls in combat only the queen will remain, plump, helpless and unable to fly away she will attempt to flee the hive and crawl away to safety, it is at this time a survivor can attempt to win her trust through hand feeding of their favorite food, mutton, after this process is complete you can bring your new friend home to have her build a new hive tower. Domesticated- A domesticated sordes hive has a surprising number of uses, the structure itself being roughly as durable as stone structures built by survivors and can be commanded to hunt and gather meat from passing wild animals, this meat stored in large chambers within the hive where its spoilage will be drastically slowed. The base defense possibilities of the hive can also not be understated as few creatures can withstand the onslaught of the hives drone attacks. One can also take a queen and have her form a small "hive backpack" which cant house as many drones but can still make a potent defensive option while exploring the wastelands. A tamed hive can also have the chemical composition of its explosive drones influenced to achieve different explosive effects, incendiary, poisonous and flashbang drones have all been documented and who knows what other clever chemical compositions can be achieved. Breeding of sordes in captivity can technically be achieved, a "Founder" egg can occasionally be found in a destroyed hive the wild, this actually being a pair of two fused eggs that can only be incubated within a tamed hive, upon hatching this will produce a new king and queen that can produce an entire new hive upon maturity.
  9. The lynx issiodorensis is the ancestor of every lynx in today's world , But because of it's short and robust limbs , it's longer neck , and larger head make the issiore lynx look like a typical cat . While I was observing the issiore lynx , I took a chance and approached it , When I did it showed no fear or any hostility towards me , but it did run away when it was attacked by a microraptor . I was able to tame one by feeding it a fish I caught , and I have learned a bit more about the issiore lynx , during our journey it seated itself on to my shoulder and it used it's ears to detect an incoming predator . While I was setting up camp at the beach the issiore lynx left when my hunger was setting in , then it returned with a dodo in its mouth . I cooked half of the meat and gave the rest to the lynx During the night when I was sleeping the issiore lynx cuddled up to me , the lynx issiodorensis I believe is a good tame have by your side
  10. General appearance: A small arthropod posses massive eyes compared to its relatively small body. Dollacaris posses claws used for attacking prey and ones for propulsion. Location: The dollacaris is found in abundance underneath the floating island The Center has become best known for. However they can be found in the open ocean, but much less reliably. Behavior: The dollacaris, while small, is a strict carnivore. However due to it's size and poor swimming ability the only thing on the menu for these unfortunate creatures are already dead creature and trilobites, as neither of those are very good at running away. This gives them a relatively skittish temperament, fleeing from most creatures and survivors. Taming: Due to the aforementioned skittish behavior this creature is a difficult one to get close too, this does not bode well to anyone wanting one of these small allies. And to top it off it is IMPOSSIBLE to sneak up on one of these creatures, no amount of ghille and bug repellent means otherwise. So clever survivors have been able to lure these creatures close with food, aka, a corpse. Once this creature begins eating one can than approach it with its favorite food, pearls. Black pearls work best but a more cost effective method does lie in silica pearls. Tamed: When tamed (luckily for all of us) this creature does eat meat after being tamed. However you don't want this creature for eating your food so what does it do? This creatures massive eyes allow it detect just about anything in nature and even things invisible to the naked eye. This is most apparent when a male and female dollacaris are "linked" to eachother (a setting accesed in their behaviour tab). When activated the male is set to be stationary, able to be latched to various surfaces, and survey an area. This adapted in nature so that the male could gaurd young dollacaris while the female stays with the young. Through the linked female you can access the males view of his nearby environment just about anywhere (his view range is about 20 feet in any direction). The male in this state can see things such as drop contents, creature level, and creature gender. This is not all its useful for, when given 100 black pearls and the dermis of any one creature, this creature can locate any member of the species that the given dermis belonged too in a given area. This can be done up to 3 times as the dollacaris is a small animal with a small brain that can get overloaded with information easily. The detectable creatures seemingly can't be swapped out as the dollacaris grows an affinity towards them and won't let you take away its precious dermis action figures. Misc: the dollacaris can half the weight of anything in its inventory. Despite being aquatic it can survive out of water just find, however, it is remarkably slow on land. 11. Introducing Psittacosaurus! The newest shoulder pet on aberration Name: Psittacosaurus Petramiculator Time: Early Cretaceous Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Neutral Wild In the wild , Psittacosaurus can be seen roaming in small groups or alone. Although small, most predators seem to leave them alone. And I know why, they aren’t afraid to use their quills. I’ve seen raptors get a mouthful of quills during an attack on these little guys. Domesticated Due to the quills and attitude towards predators , I thought psittacosaurus couldn’t be tamed. Then I learned that some survivors have trained them to spit rocks at their enemies. Rock spitting isn't the only thing they’re good for. The quills glow and can be used to keep enemies away. What’s even more fascinating is their ability to echolocate, which allows them to find food and those same rocks. Some survivors use it to find other resources as well.
  12. Hello all! This is only my 2nd attempt to come up with a creature for this so take it easy on me I hope you enjoy! This is the Vulpikala, and was heavily inspired by the Vulpes Qiuzhudingi, which is an extinct Arctic Fox believed to be the ancestor of todays modern fox breeds. Of course my creation is not an arctic fox but after generations in the toxic areas of Aberration, It has adapted some extremely unique abilities and traits in order to survive and thrive. NOTE: This is a Hybrid shoulder pet and mountable tame! How? Well Continue and you will see Vulpes qiuzhudingi Paleozoic Period Omnivore Curious / Defensive WILD The Vulpikara spent a great deal of their existance in blistering cold conditions, but upon traveling to this toxic zone, their everyday lifestyles have changed. They spend most of their days as a cute and innocent "fennic" like creature, and love to sit in trees where they playfully observe others. They have been known to "fetch" goodies for those they admire and in some cases become attached to them. They are mainly herbivores eating the fruits of the trees, but when provoked will not pass up a kill. When the Vulpikala feels the need to protect itself, it draws forth the radiation it has stored in its body to undergo a massive transformation, Going from cute and cuddly to LARGE and Formidable! If you are among those that have provoked this creatures transformation, be ready for a true test of speed and power. The true rival of the Vulpikala has always been known to be the Rock Drake. When it senses one of these creatures nearby, it starts to release a trailing glow as it moves signifying that the Vulpikala is warning its master and preparing for battle. Little is known as to why they dislike the Drakes so much, but it is believed this is due to their young being hunted and slaughtered by the drakes for many years. The size of the Vulpikala in full form dominates that of the Thylacoleo. DOMESTICATED Those who have become imprinted on by a Vulpikara have told tales of both true companionship and mystical experiences. The Vulpikara have been changed by the radiation of this abberant zone in a way like no other creature. When they or their partner are in danger, they waste little time leaping into battle from their shoulder and transforming into their full size in a flash that leaves those that see it in awe. This transformation startles all attackers as if they have been paralyzed for a brief time, allowing the Vulpikala and rider enough time to escape or fight. The Vulpikala can be ridden in this stage without a saddle, and is said to have the speed of a lightning bolt when it leaps out of danger, bouncing between cliffs and trees. If the Vulpikala finds itself in a battle it cannot win, it lets out a screech that disorients its opponent, and it releases all of its radiation to the surrounding area causing the Vulpikala to revert to its original form, but giving its master the time to escape as the cloud slows all creatures briefly, and pacifies smaller creatures. Vulpikala have been known to be an explorers best companion in the deepest zones of Aberration. Not only does it give you a get out of jail free tactic when it leaps into battle to save its master, but its ability to leap from cliff to cliff in a flash scaling even the most vertical of cliffs makes it a must have to escape any situation in the deepest depths. It is also an Ideal companion for stealing dino eggs from nests in the blink of an eye. The Vulpikala may transform to protect its master without being told to do so, but it is also known that some masters have forced this transformation at their will using a gas like substance only found in this area. TAMING In order to make one of these adorable creatures your companion, one must first create a bond with the Vulpikala. Once you locate one, approach it with ease as you do not want to both provoke it or scare it away. The Vulpikala will then decide if you are interesting enough to approach as they are extremely curious but prideful creatures. If it approaches you without incident, you then give it a "Toxic Substance" to empower the Vulpikala, then you have started the "Battle Bond" taming method. Once transformed the creature will protect you at all costs but its transformation has 2 side effects. First off it will cause all visible creatures to go into a frenzy, making them attack you without reason. Second, the Vulpikala also starts to build a frenzy meter as you battle along side it. With every kill the Vulpikala gets closer and closer to bonding with you fully but it also gains frenzy. Once frenzied its eyes glow red and it lets out a screech like no other that stuns all creatures around including yourself and attacks without mercy. If you are not lucky enough to get away in time, you may be its next victim. After the frenzy it reverts back to its cute former self and the process continues. Once tamed, the Vulpikala's "Battle Bond" with you is much like an imprint from baby to parent, but forged by the battle itself. The quality of this buff is determined by your skill as a tamer. NOTE: You cannot approach a wild Vulpikala with a tamed creature to start the taming process, and you cannot use a tamed creature to help you battle bond to it. The Vulpikala, as stated previously, is a prideful creature and will only bond with those fearless enough to fight at its side as one. SHOULDER FORM ABILITIES When on the ground, you can whistle the Vulpikala to attack any creature of its size. It has even been know to leap into the air and pull Icthyornis and Dimorphodon strait out of the sky. It has also been known that if it is wandering around on its own it can dig up and find valuable resources for its master. When shouldered, the Vulpikala soothes the master's mind allowing for any buffs applied to itself and allied mounts to last longer. Also reduces stamina consumption. FULL FORM ATTACKS Left Click - Bite attack that hits twice. Once for the initial bite, and once for ripping away flesh. Right click - A claw based slashing attack that damages and bleeds everything in a cone in front of you. C - Used to consume any "Toxic Substance" it is holding and let out a screech that buffs its speed and stamina regen for itself and all allies in the area. (While under these affects, the Vulpikala emits a light in the area due to the radiation consumed. Works like a glow pet.) CTRL - Cosmetic Howl CONCLUSION In my opinion the Vulpikala would be a perfect addition to Aberration as they are swift, can scale cliffs and dangerous areas with ease but in a unique way, and can protect their master with their many defensive traits and offensive traits. Plus the ability to steal the eggs of its only rival is pretty cool in itself I would love to hear your opinions below that could help me shape this creature even more! But remember, all things about this creature are subject to be changed by Wild Card. All art credits go to Blue Willow AI art bot.
  13. pacifastacus nigrescens is an extinct crayfish that's the size of microraptor it can be passively tamed with plant species Z seeds or aquatic mushrooms the pacifastacus nigrescens can create a charge light with it's claws (or pincers whatever works I guess) kind of like how the bulbdog does with it's antenna thing on its head , so I've nicknamed the pacifastacus nigrescens , "brightclaw'' is that ok can i give pacifastacus nigrescens a nickname pacifastacus nigrescens live in large lakes like the one at the fallen nexus , or the ones at the luminous marshlands and the crystalline swamps when you kill pacifastacus nigrescens , you can harvest crustacean meat from it , crustacean meat is kind of at the level of lamb if that makes sense to everyone else
  14. Cute, hard shelled sand crab that'll cuddle your shoulder once old enough and add armor while doing it. Too small to have established themselves in the Ark's food chain it has taken to the dietary habits of a parasite. It's health pool is tied to the 'durability' of the armor it provides, while the food stat adds more armor value. As the wearer takes damage so too will the Sand Crab and be forced to feed on the wearer to repair the 'durability' of the armor. A higher melee stat will cause the Sand Crab to repair damage to itself more rapidly (at the cost of more damage to the Host, or rapid consumption of carried blood bags). The more the Sand Crab feeds on the Host... the more it will grow and cover more parts of the Hosts body slowly replacing any equipped armor until the entire body is covered in the fully matured Sand Crab (each growth stage for consumes a new slot, removing gear). Additionally, the longer a Sand Crab spends on a Host, the more the bond between them will increase yielding a more durable Sand Crab (imprinting bonus). Matured Sand Crabs will also reproduce several offspring from one egg sack when bred in captivity. Pros: Armor that scales somewhat radically with some care. Repairs itself (with blood). Nightmare fuel. Cons: Can kill you/itself like the Bloodstalker. Lose the ability to carry a shoulder pet or equip armor in affected slots. It can't wear a helm. It provides no insulation.
  15. Nyctereutes Donnezani (Raccoon dog) Nyctereutes Donnezani is an extinct relative of the Raccoon Dog. -Nocturnal -Glowing eyes -Foragers _seeds, eggs, -Great swimmers can dive for meals -Usually seen in pairs or small groups -Mews when friendly and growls when frightened -Omnivore -Short-Tempered -Can have rabies -Capable of living with humans Wild: Nyctereutes is among one of the few omnivores found in this area. Nyctos means "night" and ereuna means "seeking." These creatures are nocturnal and are normally seen in pairs or small groups. Can hear them ‘mewing’ to each other at times as a sort of friendly banter. Usually not aggressive but will growl to warn off danger. Can become protective and territorial of other Nyctereutes. Aggressive when in danger. Stubby like stature means this creature has slower mobility, but still has a ferocious bite - careful of getting infected with rabies! Damage is doubled in packs. Have multiple coats, allowing them to survive in a massive array of temperatures. They can be found in swampy, marsh areas or in the freezing cold and here they will have a light-colored coat to camouflage from predators. Can be found burrowed underground, in caves, or foraging in trees. If survivor builds crops near a Nyctereutes, they will aggro and destroy the nearby plots if not properly protected and/or steal crop products (berries, fruit, veggies). Domesticated: Like most creatures, Nyctereutes do not seek out human interaction. However, they are capable of living with humans and even becoming a loyal companion. Are small enough to be a shoulder mount. With glowing eyes and ears, they are a great source of charge light. Despite being small and stocky, Nyctereutes are great divers and foragers - bringing back items for the survivor such as seeds, eggs, fish, crops, etc. Taming Ideas: • With pelt - large amounts, passively dropping (similar to Gacha) or maybe through tranquillizing using pelt in inventory to keep them warm and torpor high (but will become aggressive when tranqed and aggro nearby Nyctereutes, multiplying rabies risk) torpor would drain quickly • With fertilized Beelzebufo eggs, passively May become hostile, but will not do much damage and will not affect taming effectiveness. Will eventually become passive until next “feeding” • Not tame-able with kibble • Only tame-able at night (nocturnal) • Nyctereutes found in snowy regions will be hibernating and have to be lured out by means of nearby veggies planted in an accessible crop plot. Once lured, they will be available to tame. Possible Abilities: - Can pickpocket items - Infecting intruders with Rabies - Inventory capable of crafting simple or basic kibbles or just used for large storage/refrigeration - Enhance survivor's Fortitude - Night-vision - Charge light - Can make jerky with correct ingredients. However, is able to eat meat. 16. Creature Name: Giant Purgatorius Description: The Giant Purgatorius is a remarkable and fearsome primate that inhabits the wild and treacherous landscapes of Ark. This unique creature possesses several extraordinary characteristics that set it apart from other creatures in the game. Size: Comparable to a oviraptor Physical Attributes: The Giant Purgatorius boasts a compact yet muscular build, with a dense layer, loose of fur covering its body. Despite its small stature, the creature possesses surprising strength and agility, enabling it to maneuver swiftly through the dense foliage and rugged terrains. Sensory Abilities: While lacking the ability to see, the Giant Purgatorius compensates with an acute sense of smell that surpasses that of most creatures in Ark. Its olfactory capabilities are highly developed, allowing it to detect even the faintest scents and track its prey with astonishing accuracy. This heightened sense of smell also aids the creature in navigating its surroundings, helping it avoid obstacles and locate vital resources. Physical Attributes: The Giant Purgatorius possesses a unique defense mechanism in the form of a loose layer of dense fur that covers its body. This specialized adaptation, reminiscent of the resilient honey badger, provides exceptional protection against bites and slashes from other creatures. The fur acts as a natural armor, cushioning the impact of attacks and reducing the severity of injuries inflicted upon the Giant Purgatorius. As a result, it can withstand a remarkable amount of damage during battles and encounters, enhancing its chances of survival even when confronted by larger adversaries. This remarkable defensive attribute, combined with its other formidable qualities, makes the Giant Purgatorius a force to be reckoned with in the unforgiving world of Ark: survival Ascended Behavior and Ferocity: The Giant Purgatorius is known for its ferocity and unwavering protectiveness towards its young. Despite its blindness, it compensates with heightened aggression, fearlessly challenging formidable foes to safeguard its offspring. It exhibits incredible courage, even going so far as to confront a fearsome Giganotosaurus if it perceives a threat to its young. Engaging in battle with a Giant Purgatorius should not be taken lightly, as its tenacity and determination make it a formidable opponent. Taming Method: passive tame. Taming a Giant Purgatorius requires a unique approach. To gain its trust and deceive it into thinking you are one of its own, the player must obtain the pheromone of a recently slain offspring of the creature. By smearing this pheromone over their character, they can fool the parent Giant Purgatorius into accepting their presence. Once accepted, the player can start the taming process. However, this method requires careful execution and preparation, as the parent will be extremely protective and aggressive during the process. Taming Efficiency Boost: The Giant Purgatorius possesses a unique ability to nurture and protect other tames, significantly increasing their taming efficiency. When The Giant Purgatorius is present near a taming attempt, it exudes a pheromone that fosters a stronger bond between the player and the targeted creature. The pheromone emitted by The Giant Purgatorius has several beneficial effects. Firstly, it instills a sense of calm and trust in the targeted creature, reducing its fear and apprehension during the taming process. This makes the creature more open to the player's presence and interactions, expediting the taming progress. Furthermore, the pheromone of The Giant Purgatorius aids in soothing any wounds or injuries sustained by the creature during the taming process. It accelerates the natural healing process, ensuring that the creature remains in optimal condition and recovers swiftly from any damage incurred during the taming process. It's important to note that the The Giant Purgatorius's ability doesn't guarantee instant or effortless taming. It simply provides a nurturing and protective influence that fosters a stronger connection between the player and the tamed creature, enhancing the overall taming efficiency and success rate. By smearing the pheromone of a Giant Purgatorius offspring over a potential tame and setting your own Giant Purgatorius on "protective stance" mode, you can deceive it into perceiving the taming target as one of its own offspring. This clever tactic allows the Giant Purgatorius to serve as a fierce guardian, warding off potential threats that may attempt to attack the vulnerable, unconscious creature. Utilizing the Giant Purgatorius in this manner can significantly increase the success rate of taming valuable creatures, making it an invaluable asset for players seeking to bolster their taming endeavors in the wil ds of Ark: Survival Ascended. This creature is derived from the real world purgatorius - the first known primate. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purgatorius
  17. The Volaticotherium is a flying squirrel which may not be a big carnivore but the utility makes up for it's size. Wild: These squirrels spend most of their time sleeping on the redwood trees in the green zone. Occasionally they will go looking for food, picking bushes for berries and eating mushrooms. They are very aware of their surroundings and if a predator comes close, they will flee at high speed towards the nearest tree or rock ledge. Taming: Taming the Volaticotherium may be a tricky task since there's not many of them in the world. Their skittish nature also doesn't help with that. These animals are very food motivated so treats are the best option. Items like honey, fruit, plant species x, y and z seeds are beloved by the squirrels. Look for squirrels sleeping on the trees, don't attempt taming on the ground as they will flee. After you've found your squirrel, dressed in ghillie armor approach the tree and throw a treat on the ground and move away. The Volaticotherium will smell it and come down to eat it. Sometimes the squirrel may require a few treats to become tamed, just repeat the process. Utility: This animal offers a unique way to scout the world of the Aberrant caves. At level 75 you unlock the Volativlcotherium Remote Camera (VRC). This can be put on your squirrel which was a normal shoulder pet before, turning it into a living drone! When you enter the RC mode, you can control the squirrel with a series of whistles, each one coresponding to a different action. But beware, your time controlling the squirrel is limited by your battery and stamina. You are limited to a view from the camera on the belly of the squirrel (no 3rd person). In the time of your battery life and stamina, you can either run on the ground or climb a wall/tree, jump, and glide through the air! Be advised that the whistles controlling the squirrel can be heard by other survivors and the Volaticotherium can be shot down easily due to it's slow gliding speed. For balance purposes you cannot mount C4 on them and they're not immune to radiation. I hope you like my suggestion and if you see a spelling/grammar error, please tell and i will fix it. 18. My suggestion is the Ctenophora, it looks like a jellyfish, but it does not belong to the cnidarea family, with fossils dating from the Cambrian period, it would be a shoulder creature, it would cling to the survivor from the back with tentacles, it would be transparent and with bioluminescence. While clinging to the survivor, she would have an ability to camouflage herself and the survivor, making both invisible, she would be found swimming in the liquid element, to be able to tame it would require a tek armor to enter the liquid element safely, the food it would be element ore, for balance issues, I imagine that invisibility could have a 10 second cooldown after becoming visible before being able to use it again, and that when attacking it would become visible again, invisibility time would depend on stamina. It would be a passive taming, we would have to give it elemental ore, it could only mate inside the liquid element, after being tamed, it would not die out of water, but it would be unable to move, just lying on the ground waiting for someone to come to take. In the dark of night or in caves it would glow with its bioluminescence, although it doesn't give enough light to illuminate anything, it would be nice to see it glow, with luminous tentacles wrapped around the survivor's torso and arms. Another ability it could have is when in water, it strives to supply its survivor with oxygen, spending its stamina, only recovering it as soon as it leaves the survivor's back or when the survivor leaves the water, thus, the stamina it is a very necessary status, and therefore it should be used well.
  19. Wild: The Oculudentavis, also known as Narcler, is living peacefully in the deepest caves of Aberration, because of it‘s poison, aggressive creatures don‘t attack it, but it’s although really jumpy and runs away when it sees a danger. It mostly consumes small insects near them, but also absorbes torpor from unconscious creatures to survive, so try to don‘t knock out creatures near the Narcler, because he will definitely try to consume the torpor. It is really rare and is also hard to find because of it‘s colour, which is adapted to the vegetation and colours of Aberration. The Narcler is one of the few creatures which can easily survive the poison and radiation of Aberration. Domesticated: Once the Narcler is tamed, it serves you as a loyal, poisonous shoulder pet and brings a lot of useful abilities with it to make your live on Aberration and on generally every Ark easier. The Narcler is having a torpor storage, which fills itself up, when consuming Torpor from creatures or survivors, or when it gets fed things which raise torpor (for example narcoberries), it is important to know, that the torpor storage is having a limit. When it is on your shoulder, the Narcler is able to suck out torpor from you, to cause that you don‘t get unconscious, for example when you get attacked from a Titanoboa or with tranquilizer darts from other survivors. This works until the torpor storage from the Narcler is full. With the help of the torpor of it‘s storage, the Narcler is able to spit the torpor at opponents to make them unconscious, this also works with taming other creatures. With it‘s torpor storage the Narcler is also able to heal the survivor a bit, by consuming the torpor from the storage (only works when it is having torpor in its storage) When the Narclers storage is full, it gives the survivor and the ridden creature a buff for speed, stamina and strength (when the storage is no longer full, the effect stays for 30 seconds) The last but not least abilitiy from the Narcler is creating narcotics in his inventory, by using rotten flesh and the torpor from its storage, the Narcler produces narcotics much faster than the mortar an pestle. Domestication: The taming of the Narcler is a little bit like the taming of the Troodon and Noglin, you have to make creatures near the Narcler unconscious and go away quickly until he is beginning to consume the torpor, then you just have to repeat this process until it‘s torpor storage is full and you have achieved taming a Narcler! Thank you very much for reading my ideas for the Oculudentavis, I hope you liked them and I would be really happy about a vote or/and a comment(:
  20. location: murder murder snow. appearance: small feathered shoulder mount raptor with ice coming out of it. behavior: normally passive but becomes aggressive near a giga, carcha and rhynio or while the player is holding a flamethrower. taming: passive, will take ice wyvern eggs, the player must not have any flame weapon in their inventory to feed it, effectiveness depends on level. utility: pve use: slows down wild creatures with its spit, passive fur genration like ovis, heat protection. pvp use: each spit makes giga rage meter go up by 5%, destroys 2 bloodrage points on carchar, does a normal slowdown on rhynio and negates shadowmane debuff. while carried will complety prevent the player from being flame debuffed. weakness: can be shot while shoulder mounted by: bow (all types), crossbow, slingshot, longneck rifle, sniper rifle. attacks: bite - unpicked pyroraptor will only do this attack, damage matches normal raptor however with bloodrage stolen from carcha it will match megalodon. ice spit: slows wild dinos, makes giga rage meter go up, steals carcha bloodrage, slows tamed rhynio, normally spits every 8 seconds but with giga rage being stolen will spit faster. frozen shield: will explode negating flame buff but not doing damage every time the player carrying it gets debuffed by flamethrower. after stealling rhynio speed will revert the flamethrower damage back like kentro reverts melee. jump: after the player carrying it dies to: giga, carcha, rhynio, flamethrower, wild creature; the pyroraptor jumps and latches to their side dealling deinon bleed. special variants: aberrant pyroraptor (spawns in mushroom cave, has glowing feathers), cave pyroraptor (spawns in ice cave, has thicker feathers), spirit pyroraptor (ghost version, spawns in the maze, not tameable but drops ghost pyroraptor costume), lava pyroraptor (untameable, spawns as minion in lava golem fight).
  21. Image from Mels Hills wild art Common name: Tasmanian Devil Species: Marsupial Time: Miocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: short-tempered Wild: In the wild you will mostly find this creature around a forest or the redwoods. It is a solitary creature so it mostly be found on it's own. But be careful because this creatures is skittish and will run anyway quickly . The Tasmanian devil is mostly a scavenger and will feed of dead carcases around it but it will sometimes go and hunt anuyhting to the size of a hyenadon. Domesticated: The tamanian devil is a shoulder pet that every survivor will want to have with them , it has a damage bonus to small creatures to the size of a hyenadon . It will also protect the survivor from any small creatures with it's growl . Taming: The tasmanian Devil can get spooked really easily so to tame it you have to drag the body of a dead creature to it and let it eat and after it has eating enough it will come over to you and then you pet it. Combat: The tasmanian Devil is not the best of fighters with the bigger creatures of the ark but against some of the smaller creatures it has yet to be beaten , it has a passive damage boost againt any creature up to the size of a hyenadon. Sharp claws: With it's sharp claws it will be usefull to any survivor who has been hit by a bola or a net projectile , because with it's sharp claws your tamed Tasmanian Devil will come and set you free by cutting the net projectile or bola and can do the same to another tamed dinosaur if it's been whistled to it.
  22. This small and goofy looking crab makes a great shoulder pet this small crab can be found at the bottom of the ocean, its favorite food is black pearls. Tamed Atlas Obscura can make taming dinos easier in several ways it produces a enzyme that restores lost tame efficiency. The meat on it's claw is very delicious it is better then mutton for taming.
  23. I haven’t read through the other things yet, if it turns out this has already been submitted I apologies The darwinopterus is a small, flying carnivore that tends to be found in warmer parts of ragnorok. Female darwinopterus tend to lack the crest on the top of their heads which makes it so it’s incredibly easy to tell the two apart, these small pterosaurs tend to be much more colourful then most other creatures which makes them easier to spot whilst flying around. Because of this, Darwinopterus use their small body as an advantage and often fly or run behind rocks and into cramped spaces. They often flee when attacked and eat bodies that have been left around or hunt things smaller things like dodos, jerboas, etc, they can be domesticated in two different ways. 1• petting, feeding and protecting one. Younger darwinopterus are often found near the older ones and are the only type that can be tamed this way, the older ones are a bit more complicated. 2• killing small dinos, dragging their corpses to an adult darwinopterus and letting it eat it. Once you’ve done it a few times the darwinopterus will gain your trust begin following you around, then you do the same thing again. once it allows you to pick it up, grab it and it’ll tame. Tamed darwinopterus don’t have much they can do other then climbing onto your shoulder. However, they do have a couple helpful abilities that make them pretty useful! 1• grabbing items darwinopterus are able to grab items that you throw to them, you can also make them grab things by throwing that at the item. This is helpful for things like stealing wyvern eggs since it makes it easier to grab them without making wyverns attack you, they can also hold weapons in their mouth and attack from your shoulder if not on passive mode. (Only once tamed) 2• stealing from survivors (pvp) if you throw one at a survivor it’ll grab a random item from their inventory and bring it back to you. This will mostly be helpful for pvp though and is mostly useless on pve (unless your trying to annoy your sibling on a single player world. Also wild ones are NOT able to steal) 3• stat boosts These small critters love pets and cuddles, whenever you pet one it’ll temporarily boost their stats a small bit, which is good to do before making them steal from other players since it’ll also boost their speed and health incase they try to fight back despite have multiple good abilities, there’s also a few cons of owning them, such as their low stats, darwinopterus have low health, melee and stamina usually. However they do have decent weight ————————— https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darwinopterus
  24. This dinosaur is one of the most bird looking of them all and ARK needs more feather companions. Abilities I feel this bird should be like a parasaur but it rides on your Shoulder. So it should have the Threat detection ability. Taming Like most birds I feel confuciusornis sanctus should like Shiny things. Like metals, black pearls, crystal, etc So you will give it the things above and you will Keep doing this in till it gives you its egg but not all will sometimes they will give you resources or broken Equipment. thank you for reading sorry for not having a dossier.
  25. Original Species (Diochus Electrus) Dossier Species: Diochus Electrus Magnus Time: Middle Eocene Diet: Carrion Feeder Temperament: Defensive Wild Diochus Electrus Magnus is a strange subspecies of Diochus Electrus I have discovered on this ARK, it is much larger than most rove beetle species I know but tiny compared to the other beasts here. They tend to simply wander about in the forests and surprisingly some of the cold mountainous areas of this place looking for carrion to eat. Due to its small size many larger creatures would want to prey on it so it has evolved a truly unique defence mechanism. Diochus Electrus Magnus has become incredibly bioelectric capable of creating shockwaves and shooting electric beams from its abdomen. These electric light shows are usually enough to scare most would-be predators from attacking, those that aren't are tased into unconsciousness. Domesticated Those who have earned Diochus' trust (by spoiling it with food for a while) will find an organic taser at their disposal. Diochus isn't large enough to be ridden but it's small enough to sit on one's shoulder (Who thought it was fine to have a giant rove beetle on their shoulder I don't want to know). Diochus can be trained to act as an electric sentry on both peoples' shoulders and on the ground shooting electricity at threats from a distance, on peoples' shoulders Diochus seems to instinctively resuscitate survivors when they are unconscious. I have also seen people train it to be a sort of living electric mine in that it'll be trained to create an electric shockwave when enemies come close to it. I have heard rumours that a certain advanced tribe uses a colony of Diochus as rudimentary bioelectric generators to power certain machinery, while that sounds useful I can imagine it would be pretty tiring for the beetles after a while. Technical Stuff This electric rove beetle can be found within the forest and snow biomes of Ragnarok, in the wild its passive until provoked, when provoked it will start doing electricity shenanigans to defend itself. In order to tame it you must passive feed it certain food, the best food to feed it would be regular kibble and raw mutton. Once you feed it enough just like that it tamed! As a tamed creature the Diochus can be your shoulder pet, similar to how the Mesopithecus will throw poop at adversaries the Diochus will electrocute enemies (fun fact, the electrocution will deal more damage to things in water), if you become unconscious and Diochus is on your shoulder it will electrocute you to get out of unconsciousness, just beware it can't do this consantly and the electrocution may hurt your character a bit. It can shoot electricity both on your shoulder and on the ground, on the ground you can make it go into turret mode and it actually has 2 types of turret modes, the first mode is the more normal one; it shoots electricity at a distance, the second mode is the shockwave thing mentioned in the dossier, whenever enemies go near the beetle it creates an AOE shockwave. The last major thing about is that it can act as a generator, you can order Diochus to power a single certain machine that requires electricity, one thing to note, the Diochus can't power something forever and eventually it runs out of energy and will need to recharge, if you want to have it power things for longer then level up the stamina stat.
