Gigantspinosaurus: The prime meat harvesting spikey boi
Kingkestrel373 posted a suggestion in Creature Submissions
The Gigantspinosaurus is a passive dinosaur, but don’t let that fool you. If provoked it will attack mercilessly and not stop until its aggressor is dead. When tamed it can be ridden and used to harvest prime meat efficiently. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gigantspinosaurus- 1 reply

Paraborhyaena: The Karkinos Crusher Predator
Kingkestrel373 posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
The Paraborhyaena would be a middle to late stage creature that specialises in hunting creatures with hard shells like Doedicurus, Ankylosaurus and even Karkinos. It’s razor sharp fangs make short work of their tough outer shells and are adept at harvesting large amounts of chitin and keratin. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paraborhyaena-

Daspletosaurus- The Aberrant Rex ARK Daspletosaurus Dossier FINISHED (1) (1) (1) (2).tiff <--- THE LINK FOR MY CONCEPT DOSSIER WILD Daspletosaurus Torusus a remarkable species of carnivouris creature. Standing as tall as the famous T-Rex I've found that Daspletosaurus is this arks version of the Tyrannosaurus, although this ark is an incredibly dangerous and random place to live, the Daspletosaurus is used to these conditions and makes the most of it by hiding out in small caves deeper down, but be careful when going near these caves they will strike and grab their prey, once grabbed the prey will become unconscious when that happens it will eat its prey alive. WILD Daspletosaurus also has incredibly fast healing factor when it eats or finishes of a corpse, doing this also will increase its overall damage output for a decent amount of time, during this time period it'll be able to also run faster and have tankier health. DOMESTICATED To tame one of these foul creatures on this ark truly is a stupid idea, but if brave enough i believe that it can be possible. I believe that Daspletosaurus becomes weak when lead out of its cave, if leaving something shiny like a type of gem or glowing creature that is native to this ark, it will lure allowing you to knock it out by grabbing its attention once out after that drag it towards a brighter area away from its cave, once this is done it will become scared and run a way from anything that threatens it, during this time I believe passively feeding it a my custom mixture made from different tiers of kibble and insect liquids, you will need different tiers of kibble and different types of insect liquids for each different Daspletosaurus's, once a Daspletosaurus has been tamed i believe that it will make taming others very easy. The reason i think this is because i've found that it's able to turn gems into a type of paste that can be used as a little bit of a worse alternative to the mixture i've created. Mixing gems in its inventory with cementing paste and water will turn it into the Daspletosaurus's food if it can't find any prey. ABILITIES: Grab and knock out: able to pick up smaller- small medium sized creatures and knock them out over time Bite: a normal bite that inflicts a small amount of torpor tail slap: do a spin that causes high damage and knocks creatures back Eat: walking up to a corpse and feasting on it to add buffs

The megacerops is a prehistoric rhino closely related to a horse surprisingly, which has been found by many palaeontologists over the years. It had a pair of blunt horns unlike our present day rhinos. So why have another rhino in ark? Well the woolly rhino is well as the name suggests woolly so I think it would be nice to have a variety of non woolly and woolly rhinos and for right now the paracer is the only thing related to rhinos, like how ankylosaurs are related to stegosaurs, plus the game needs more mammals so I think this would be a great addition to ark. Size: the megacerops was 2.5m tall and 4.6m long compered to the woolly rhinos size being 1.6 tall and 4m long Sorry I could not find an accurate size comparison of the woolly rhino. here is some pictures of the megacerops. Taming method: to tame the megacerops you must sneak up behind it and feed it berries or superior, exceptional or extraordinary kibble then you have to ride it, hunt down and kill carnivorous creatures to gain trust (omnivores can work) and once you kill enough you have your very own megacerops. Abilities: the megacerops has a wide variety of ability's which is listed here below. (1) a standard headbutt. (2) a charge dealing high damage to players and dinos. (3) when the megacerops uses this ability it tilts its head close to the ground and starts running wile it does it scoops up rocks from the ground with its large horns and after 10 seconds a small bolder is formed (the bolder begins to form when you start the ability) that weighs down the megacerops but can be launched dealing high damage to players, dinos and structures, if you charge into a player, structure or dino the bolder will break and deal more damage than the standard charge (the larger the bolder the more damage it deals but the less range it has). (4) megacerops will slightly crouch while tilting its head to take further reduced damage to the head by 30%, making its total reduced damage 45% to the head when crouched. (5) megacerops will passively take reduced weight for metal, stone, obsidian, crystal, flint and rockets. (6) megacerops will passively take 15% reduced damage to the head from projectiles. (7) when lower than 20% Hp the megacerops goes on an adrenaline rush and gain red eyes similar to the gigas rage mode, which kicks the rider of and makes the megacerops take 20% reduced damage and deal 15% more damage. while active the megacerops will deal damage to you, your tribe and your allies if you get to close to the attacks but it will focus on taking down anything that deals damage to it. Farming: the megacerops is efficient at gathering wood, thatch, berries, fibber and fungal wood and is decant at gathering cactus sap, rare flower and rare mushroom. Saddle: the megacerops has a standard hide saddle as well as a metal saddle which has a rocket launcher attached to it. I hope you like my submission .

Tasmanian tiger the bone crunching predator
Jaxywaxy posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Stands up leaning on tail becoming immobile enabling it to have inferred vision, bone crunching effect due to its insane bite force (slows target), can drag dead bodies and has high stamina. Thylacines also gave off an odour if this was added to the game it could de-aggro small and medium creatures. Has ability like fjordor hawks to sense nearby dead creatures. They could live in highlands and in/ area around swamp castle as they lived in grasslands and wetlands. thylacine or Tasmanian tiger would hunt alone or with a partner so they would be found in solidarity if they were added to the game. As they are a marsupial they could have a pouch used to carry around babies similar to the protopactdon but for smaller creatures. As a solitary apex predator it would have to be a fairly powerful mount in order to be able to takedown their prey. Females would use their pouch to carry around their babies so a possible taming method could be knocking out the a female with a baby or Joey and then imprinting on it. Aggressive temperament to most creatures but timid to survivors. Appearance The Thylacine was sandy yellowish-brown to grey in colour and had 15 to 20 distinct dark stripes across the back from shoulders to tail. Although the large head was dog- or wolf-like, the tail was stiff and the legs were relatively short. Body hair was dense, short and soft, to 15mm in length. It had short ears (about 80 mm long) that were erect, rounded and covered with short fur. Jaws were large and powerful and there were 46 teeth. (the appearance part was from JurassicDino on a previous post) None of the pictures are my own I found them online. wiki link https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thylacine- 13 replies

Machairodus: Ark's Baddest Kitty & Pack Giga Counter
Kaimen posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
MACHAIRODUS Species: Machairodus Time: Late Miocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: Similar to the Ark’s Smilodon brutalis, the Machairodus is a large species of saber-toothed cat that dwells in the mountainous biomes of Ragnarok. They are much larger in size, however, amounting closer to the mass of a Shadowmane instead. Machairodus also tend to hunt in packs of up to five. This powerful big cat possesses a pounce-and-tackle ability much like the Thylacoleo to survivors and even other small dinosaurs. It is pointless to attempt to overpower a pack with a larger, stronger dinosaur, however, as the larger a predator is, the more the Machairodus' primal spirit boosts their attack damage. Pack Alphas drop their teeth, a special ingredient used in their taming process. Tamed: In similar behavior to their wild counterparts, Machairodus are able to pounce onto unsuspecting survivors and small-medium dinosaurs. However, once tamed, the Alpha of the pack gains the ability to pounce onto larger dinosaurs and attach to them for as long as their stamina allows. During this time, the Alpha is able to inflict heavy bleed damage with a special "shredding attack" that deals immense amounts of damage. Additionally, as long as the Alpha is grappled, its packmates deal increased damage with a stacking bleed effect if being ridden. It's "primal spirit" feature is included in its tamed variant, making it a swell counter to the Ark's largest carnivores… especially the infamous giganotosaurus; arch enemy of this vicious, apex pack feline. The feature increases the amount of damage dealt to larger creatures and also offers a climbing damage reduction the higher the damage dealt to the machai is. It is heavily reliant on pack bonus, however. Taming: To tame these beasts of a feline, survivors must first gather Machairodus teeth from killing prides of them, only the Alpha of which drops its teeth. It is important to kill the whole pride, however, as remaining Machais will linger by their Alpha's body, making it difficult to dismount and retrieve the teeth from its inventory. Once a survivor has gathered enough teeth (provided they are high enough of a level), they will be able to craft a special weapon that is required for taming the large feline. A survivor must approach the pack on foot and allow themselves to get pounced by the pack's Alpha. They must have their crafted weapon equipped to their last slot for the tame to initiate, however. Once pounced, and provided the weapon is properly equipped, survivors will need to succeed through a series of dodges and counter attacks until the Alpha retreats into a state of "temporary respect." During this stage, the survivor must capture the Machairodus they wish to tame using a net projectile. After it is trapped, the rest of the pack will begin attacking and must all be killed. Only then will the trapped Machairodus fully gain the survivor's trust, though it will not yet be fully tamed. To build its taming effectiveness, survivors must offer a tamed sacrifice to be devoured by the Machairodus. The larger the creature and the higher its level will determine how high its effectiveness will turn out. Appearance: This tank of a cat boasts robust shoulders rippling with sheer muscle. Towards the rear they lean out, giving them less weight to support when latching onto larger creatures. Two scarily long canine fangs curve elegantly from their mouths, perfect for dealing damage and key to survivors for defending against them long enough to tame one. A short, spiky mane lines their back, ending at a short nub of a tail. Their rosetted pelts assist in blending in with their surroundings. Extra: I've created this concept primarily as a hardened giga counter. It's a much needed addition in my opinion, as even with the arrival of the carcha the giga has no true rival. Nothing matches its raw damage, and in typical PvP bases it's the most used dino for sheer power. In most battles between dinos it's just a matter of who's giga rages first or gets the most bites in. I think that the addition of the Machairodus would provide an even challenger for the giga, even if only in packs. In stereotype, the giganotosaurus is supposed to be the biggest and the baddest. So, a creature that only amounts to its power (but definitely amounts to it nonetheless) in packs, and with effects like an insane pack bonus and stacking bleed, seems like a reasonable counter to me. They would need a tanky amount of health to survive a giga long enough to kill it; something a lot of creatures lack. It would either not have a saddle period with such high health, or have an optional saddle for pure armor value to survive its rival's brute strength. It would be a late-game tame with a level limit on the weapon needed for its taming mechanic, meaning there would be limited speed-running to tame it. It's different and difficult method of taming altogether evens out for how strong of a creature it would be in general. The fact that it might not have a saddle or have an optional saddle unlocked at a later level would somewhat balance the amount of damage large packs would deal. I just really want to see people use something else for raw power in the game besides gigas, or to have something actually capable of killing them. Please consider the Machairodus, or offer ideas that you think might refine it! -

A new Dino Dossier has been revealed, this one is everyone’s favourite powerful pouncing predator, the Tylacoleo! Common Name: Thylacoleo Species: Thylacoleo Furtimorsus Time: Late Pliocene - Late Pleistocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: Thylacoleo Furtimorsus is a large, powerful marsupial that can often be found hunting around trees. Its long claws and semi-opposable digits make it an apt climber, a quality that Thylacoleo uses to its advantage while hunting. It clambers up trees and waits to ambush passing prey by pouncing upon them. When something that large jumps onto a target, it becomes stunned and doesn’t stand much chance. Thylacoleo’s most notable fighting quality is its powerful jaws. Once it bites its prey, it locks its jaw in an iron-strength grip that can hold most smaller creatures in place. Thylacoleo then goes on to savage its prey with its sharp claws. If it needs to escape a fight, Thylacoleo uses its muscular hind legs to jump back to safety among the trees. Domesticated: Thylacoleo is a moderately strong mount, and its ability to climb trees and jump long distances makes it useful for traversal such that developing tribes often tame it. Small raiding parties particularly favor Thylacoleo, as it is well suited to ambushes and unfair fights.- 3 comments

Common Name: Megalania Species: Megalania Muruspede Time: Late Holocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: Megalania Muruspede is among the largest creatures found throughout the island’s complicated cave networks. Reaching up to three meters long, it can traverse vertically up the cave walls with little difficulty, using its claws as iron-strength grips. Fortunately, Megalania’s size means it is unlikely to sneak up on anyone. Unfortunately for spelunkers, it is an aggressive and dangerous creature nonetheless. Like other Varanidae, Megalania is a venomous creature.. Its poison is slow-acting, but will drain the victim’s effective strength and health until death unless cured by a rare antidote. That said, the Megalania’s prey are usually ripped apart well before they succumb to the poison’s long-term effects. Domesticated: The extremely rare ability of Megalania to effortlessly climb walls makes it a highly sought after mount. While it is by no means the fastest, strongest, or toughest mount -- the way it can effortlessly climb in the caves and scale mountains means it will always have a place in any advanced tribe’s stables.- 2 comments

Common Name: Woolly Rhino Species: Coelodonta Utiliserro Time: Late Pliocene - Late Pleistocene Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Friendly Wild: Coelodonta Utiliserro is a friendly herbivore, common to the tundra and grassland regions of the island. It is a large and dangerous creature, though it seems fairly trusting of the fauna around it. Once attacked, Coelodonta charges towards its foe. It builds up momentum as it charges, and depending on its ultimate impact speed, the results can be terrifying. With enough room to charge, it can even skewer the largest creatures in just one single gore! Despite how powerful Coelodonta are, many tribes still hunt them extensively due to their unique resources. Its horns can be ground into a highly arousing powder, and its thick fur can support many insulating outfits, making the Coelodonta much in demand. Even less advanced tribes use packs to hunt them down, though at significant peril. Domesticated: When not being hunted for its horns, Coelodonta makes an excellent beast of burden. Its ability to take on far larger opponents provided sufficient sizeable load capacity, make it a solid addition to any trader party or gathering expedition.-

Common Name: Triceratops Species: Triceratops styrax Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Short-Tempered Wild: Apparently a cross-breed of a Triceratops and Styracosaurus, Triceratops styrax has both the characteristic three-horned face of Triceratops and the prominent horned-ridge of Styracosarus. Normally a very docile grazing animal, Triceratops becomes extremely aggressive once angered. Triceratops will chase down would-be predators (and egg-stealers) with incredible prejudice. I've seen Triceratops have an especially hostile reaction to the Tyrannosaurus on the island, with herds attacking in groups. Domesticated: A common mount for those that ride dinosaurs, Triceratops doubles as both pack animal and combat war horse. Triceraptops' bony ridge works excellently as cover from frontal attacks, and the dinosaur's charge is incredibly dangerous.-

Common Name: Stegosaurus Species: Stegosaurus regium Time: Late Jurassic Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Docile Wild: Stegosaurus regium has approximately 16 paired rows of plates along its back, flanked by another smaller pair of 6 plates. This is contrary to the alternating rows of Stegosaurus fossils found in museums. I've encountered Stegosaurus, in varying amounts almost everywhere on the island. Not surprisingly, Stegosaurus uses the spines on its tail to defend itself. While not aggressive, Stegosaurus will come to the aid of other nearby Stegosaurus. This implies it to be a herd animal. Domesticated: Commonly used as a safe way to transport large quantities of goods. The plates on the Stegosaurus regium double as a cover against the arrows of the attackers. Unfortunately, they also make it harder to load and unload some cargo. The Stegosaurus attacks by swinging its spiked tail at the opponent, which has a wide area of attack. Care must be taken not to anger any nearby dinosaurs by accidentally hitting them. The swinging attack, however, is excellent for collecting large amounts of berries.-

Common Name: Spino Species: Spinosaurus aquareliga Time: Early-Late Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Territorial Wild: Among the carnivores on the Island that can match Tyrannosaurus in size, Spinosaurus aquareliga does not quite match its ferocity. Spinosaurus four legs and large sail make it fairly swift on land, and incredibly fast in water. The one comforting fact about Spinosaurus is that it seems more at home near water than away from it. While the creature is insatiable while near water, it tends to become more docile as it gets further away from it. On one occasion, I only escaped a Spinosaurus by getting far enough from its lake home to make it simply lose interest. Domesticated: Spinosaurus is an incredibly well-rounded apex carnivore. Faster than a Tyrannosaurus in water, able to travel on land unlike a Megalodon, and larger than a Carnotaurus, its all-terrain versatility may be unrivaled. For hunters who wish to have a well-rounded mount, Spinosaurus may be the ideal choice—If they can acquire one.-

Common Name: Sarco Species: Sarcosuchus excubitor Time: Early Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Patient Wild: Among the island's water-based threats, Sarcosuchus excubitor is a lot what you might expect from a giant crocodile: A patient killing machine. It spends much of its days lazily waiting in the water for prey to walk near. That said, it is not opposed to scurrying onto land and pressing the issue when hungry. A good tactic for escaping many predators is to jump into the water, as most are slow swimmers. This is a bad tactic for escaping a Sarcosuchus, obviously, as they are actually faster in the water than they are on land. Domesticated: Despite being river-dwelling creatures, Sarcosuchus seem quite at ease in the oceans. More than a few fishing communities use them as mounts simply to help fight off Megalodons, or to gain better access to the resources found within the reefs. -

Common Name: Sabertooth Species: Smilodon brutalis Time: Early Pleistocene/Holocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: Smilodon brutalis is a solitary predator, generally found in cold, lightly wooded areas. The island's mountains are the perfect habitat, as the mammal's fur keeps it safe from the bitter temperature. While its huge fangs are excellent for delivering deathblows, the creature's claws can be just as deadly. Despite normally being a solitary creature, Smilodon brutalis are not opposed to hunting in small packs. In fact, they have to do this to take down larger prey such as Mammoths. Enough Sabertooths can take down a Carnotaurus, perhaps even a Tyrannosaurus. Either way, Smilodon brutalis should not be underestimated. Domesticated: While not as fast as Raptors, there's no denying the Sabertooth's increased resilience and power. In addition, well-trained Sabertooth can be taught to use their claws to flay corpses. This may sound morbid, but it is among the best ways to quickly gather large quantities of hide from the giant beasts of the island. -
From the album: Dossiers
Common Name: Rex Species: Tyrannosaurus dominum Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: Among the deadliest creatures on the island, Tyrannosaurus dominum is a killing machine. Active mostly when hunting for food or defending its nest, a reasonable plan is to avoid every Tyrannosaurus. I've seen no creature on the island that can contest Tyrannosaurus for sheer dominance. It is pure power - from its bite, to its stomp, to its tail, to its arms. Despite being a different species of Tyrannosaurus, everyone I've met still refers to them as a "Rex" or a "T-Rex." I've long since stopped trying to convince anyone especially the few who I've seen wearing Tyrannosaurus teeth as necklaces. Domesticated: Taming a Tyrannosaurus is without a doubt a primary goal for any aspiring warlord or warring Tribes. There is a reason Tyrannosaurus is considered the king of the dinosaurs (or with this genus, the 'lord'). A Tribe that actually manages to tame one has almost nothing to fear to challenge their power.-

Common Name: Raptor Species: Utahraptor prime Time: Early Creataceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: Utahraptor prime is an incredibly aggressive species of Utahraptor found on the island. It tends to travel in small hunting packs, attacking smaller prey with its sharp teeth or enlarged foreclaws. One of the faster creatures on the island, Utahraptor often uses hit-and-run tactics against larger opponents. The large curved talon on the second toe of this sub-species seems particularly suited for attacking while jumping. Utahraptor prime usually kill their prey with numerous slashing and leaping attacks in rapid sequence. Domesticated: Despite its normally aggressive nature, Utahraptor has become one of the main mounts for roaming bands of raiders, as well as scouts for the larger collectives. Those who ride Utahraptor claim they are difficult to tame, but fiercely loyal once they are. As a carnivore, once tamed they require a steady stream of meat to sustain.-

Common Name: Quetzal Species: Quetzalcoatlus conchapicem Time: Late Cretaceous Period Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Skittish Wild: Quetzalcoatlus is one of the largest avians on the island. It shares a similar silhouette with the Pteranodon, and nests near the absolute highest peaks. Upon closer inspection, though, Quetzalcoatlus is an enormous creature of tremendous power. I find it strange that such a large, imposing beast would be so skittish. Unlike other creatures of its size, it is more likely to flee than fight. I suppose the decision to flee from any trouble keeps the species alive on an island with so many dangerous predators. But then how does it eat enough to sustain its massive size? Domesticated: Tamed Quetzalcoatlus have a very specific role on the island. Too slow to be an efficient local transport, and too weak to be an effective warbird, the tribes I have encountered tend to employ it as a mass carrier.Quetzalcoatlus is primarily used by these masters of the skies to safely carry vast quantities of supplies, creatures and human cargo from one base to another without tiring. -

Common Name: Scorpion Species: Pulmonoscorpius gigantus Time: Late Silurian Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: I'm not sure why, but the giant scorpions I've seen on the island are far more disturbing than most of the Dinosaurs. Rather than simply kill its prey, Pulmonoscorpius gigantus injects its victims with a tranquilizing poison, then eats its unconscious prey alive. This subspecies has a large pair of pincers that seem connected to the same toxin sacs as the tail. I've never seen another scorpion that has this adaptation, but I've never seen another scorpion that is larger than I am, either. Domesticated: Trying to tame a monster like Pulmonoscorpius gigantus sounds like a crazy idea, but I suppose the ability to knock out a foe could come in handy. It could certainly make incapacitating some of the island's other creatures much easier.-

Common Name: Pteranodon Species: Pteranodon wyvernus Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Skittish Wild: Pteranodon wyvernus is a large pterosaur, capable of flying for incredibly long periods. While others I've seen on the island still call it a Pterodactyl, this is inaccurate. The Pteranodon seems to be one of the least aberrant Reptile on the island. Pteranodon wyvernus mostly feeds itself by eating the small fish around the island, but they can also be found scavenging any number of dead animals. Because of this they are one of the most common Creatures on the island. Domesticated: I don't know how they did it, but I once saw a trio of Pteranodons with riders on them. This must be the fastest way to get around the island, but it can't provide any measure of safety or secrecy. -

Common Name: Procoptodon Species: Procoptodon vivencurrus Time: Plestiocene Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Reactive Wild: The first marsupial I've encountered on the island is the Procoptodon vivencurrus. Standing nearly three meters tall, it is also the largest jumping creature I've ever heard of. It is a fairly peaceful herbivore that only fiercely attacks if aggressed upon. One of Procoptodon's most unique features is its pouch. Unlike many pouched marsupials, Procoptodon's pouch is relatively dry, and has little in the way of sticky or oily fluids. I assume this is good for the joey, but I have not figured out exactly why yet... Domesticated: Procoptodon's dry pouch makes it an excellent beast of burden that can carry far more than other creatures of its size. But more importantly, many tribes use it as a two-seater transport by having a secondary rider nest in the pouch. Since this passenger doesn't have to worry about controlling the Procoptodon, the pouch-warrior can focus on firing his or her weapons.- 5 comments

Common Name: Plesiosaur Species: Elasmosaurus remuspissa Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Docile Wild: Elasmosaurus remuspissa has a strange role in the oceanic food chain. It almost exclusively hunts the smaller creatures in the waters, leaving most even moderately large creatures (such as humans) alone. The sheer size of theElasmosaurus means that the quantity of creatures it must eat to sustain itself is nothing short of enormous. Despite its imposing size, Elasmosaurus still has natural predators. Well, a natural predator: the Megalodon. Apart from that monstrous creature, I myself have only ever seen two creatures bring down an Elasmosaurus: a Spinosaurus that found its way into the deeps (not common), and humans. Though I will admit, I have yet to fully explore the staggering deep underwater caverns surrounding the island. Domesticated: Much like the Brontosaurus on land, Elasmosaurus is an excellent way to transport large quantities of goods over water. These powerful creatures are in fact so large that they can be used as mobile water bases. Ambitious tribes sometimes build bunkers right onto the backs of Elasmosaurus instead of building cargo ships. -

Common Name: Phiomia Species: Phiomia ignavus Time: Late Eocene/Early Oligocene Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Skittish Wild: Phiomia ignavus is another herd animal on the island. They are small enough that almost any predator can bring them down, but large enough to provide plenty of meat. Were it not for the protection of the herd, and their instinct to run from any predator, these would almost certainly be hunted to extinction. A Phiomia's tusks and trunk make it especially suited to scavenging plant life from the ground. It uses its tusks to dig up loose plant life, then uses its stubby trunk to scoop the foliage into its mouth. Adult Phiomia often dig up food for their young, and watching a baby Phiomia attempt to use its trunk can be quite amusing. Domesticated: While it is completely possible to ride a Phiomia around, they are a meager choice. They work very well, however, as pack-mules. And I've seen some communities keeping a herd of these around as livestock. The Phiomiarequire protection though, as they are terrible fighters. -

Common Name: Parasaur Species: Parasaurolophus amphibio Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Skittish Wild: Parasaurolophus amphibio has some of the more interesting adaptions of all creatures I've seen on the Island. Like all parasaur it has a signature head ridge. Very docile at first, I've often been able to approach them without complaint. If startled, however, the Parasaur immediately runs - very far and very fast. This species of Parasaur seems to have a previously "disproved" use for its ridge. Small openings at the top of the ridge allow it to be used as a snorkel. This is unique to Parasaurolophus amphibio, as is their surprising speed in the water. Domesticated: As a relatively simple creature to domesticate, Parasaurolophus amphibio is one of the most common mounts I've yet seen on the island. Its ability to run fairly fast for lengthy intervals makes it a solid mode of medium-range transportation, though it has almost no ability to defend itself or its rider.-

Common Name: Paracer Species: Paraceratherium gigamicus Time: Oligocene Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Docile Wild: Paraceratherium Gigamicus is a massive, long-necked mammal that inhabits some of the island's grasslands. It resembles a gigantic horse/rhinoceros hybrid, but is over twice the size of either. Paraceratherium is a very peaceful and friendly herbivore, and doesn't even seem to mind other creatures near its nest. Barring some... surprise... yet in store for me, I can safely say that the Paracerathrium is the largest mammal on the island. While its size means that the Paraceratherium can provide an incredible amount of food, it also makes it dangerous when hunted. Domesticated: A beast of burden second to the Brontosaurus, Paraceratherium is an excellent worker. It is a naturally friendly animal, and is not afraid of humans. However despite its normally calm demeanor, when it or its owner is provoked by aggression, the Paraceratherium can quickly become a real threat to the attacker and will use its girth to its advantage in combat.-
