  1. introducing the ark most hated dinosaur's: raptors "Orkoraptor" Name: orkoraptor Species: megaraptoran theropod Time: Cretaceous Period Diet: carnivore Temper: aggressive *Shadow mode: Introduction: Let's take a look at the Orkoraptor the improved rex/ Yutyrannus Main idea and function of this new creature is to have a raptor that's relevant in the end game, ideas such as: - camouflage - a Shadow mode for a last resort - catch bite for different size of Dino's - a roar to remove all buffs from enemy and debuffs for allies. - bleed damage and torpor attacks - able to track down carnivores from a high distance and players from a medium distance in camouflage mode. -able to grab most flyers with his charged bite ... wild: Wild orkoraptor most of the times is hidden waiting for the opportunity to strike down his enemies, his ability to camouflage makes it near impossible to see, hear, or track down. Most of the time found roaming the volcanic area slaughtering mantis and fighting other rexes. Taming process: To tame this dangerous creature you'll need to have some preparation, a tamed Parasaur to detect the orkoraptor if needed because it will turn invisible the moment it spots you and stay like that until he lost interest in you.if you fully prepared then you'll need to force the creature into his shadow mode and surviving it without him losing aggression on you, and after shadow mode is done you'll need to feed it tames ,Parasaur being the best feed followed by his enemy the rexes. Feeding it will not fully heal it but it will heal overtime and you'll need to tame it before his health is maxed or you'll start losing taming effectiveness overtime. If not feed for a certain time it will turn wild again and start attacking you. *Outside of shadow mode: tamed: -complete camouflage until stamina is drained even if attacked or attacking. -the ability to pin down medium size Dino's such as a trike to the ground with the mouth while dealing bleed damage ( stacking bleed as long as the dino is pinned) -normal bite attacks stack until the meter is full to lunch a strong bite attack catching the enemy from different areas for 2 seconds depending of the size, making them unable to move for 5 seconds. Small Dino's from the back dealing very high damage. Medium size Dino's from the face dealing a toxic attack increasing torpor Big Dino's such as a T-Rex from the neck dealing bleed damage The charged bite against Some flyers will put them down to the ground with a stun effect. - after the orkoraptor gets to 5% health he enters a Shadow mode: gaining double attack speed, normal bites deal bleed damage and unable to receive damage for 15 second's, but unable to attack and receive double damage after shadow mode is finished unless it's healed up to 25% health - ability to roar outside of camouflage mode removing all buffs and debuffs from self and nearby tames. - in camouflage mode the creature is soundless to the enemy or wild Dino's. -the ability to track down other rivals such as rexes from a high distance making them able to plan an attack carefully and other players from a mediocre distance while in camouflage mode. utilities: - This creature is single handedly able to track down and make the life of other players a living hell, with his ability to camouflage and track down other players and their tames, exploring in pvp will never be the same. Will this force everyone to have a spare Parasaur while in the wilds? - his pen ability makes it very hard to deal with, you'll never know when you'll be pinned until you're in the ground. ( Jump scares?) Not suitable for the weak hearts. -even if you manage to beat it down to low health, you'll better have a tanky creature or his shadow mode will finish the job. Don't get close and shoot from afar , if you're able to see it . Conclusion: just a fun horror dealing raptor to change to mood of just bite bite bite and die normality of ark, could be very fun to try something new like this.
  2. INTRODUCTION ALBERTOSAURUS The Marauder King Albertosaurus, one of the most famous tyrannosaurids, also known from the game "Jurassic World the game", second only to its recommended cousin T-Rex. This creature has always fascinated me because it was the agile and horned version of the aforementioned t-rex For this please add snowballs and maybe an igloo craft for the cold in the snow SPECIES NAME: Albertosaurus sarcophagus COMMON NAME: Albertosaurus PERIOD: Late Cretaceous TEMPERAMENT: More aggressive (like T-rex) RARITY: Slightly rarer than yutyrannus DIET: Carnivore LOCATION: Snow WILD This marauder lives in the most inhospitable areas of the island but does not disdain to lurk near Icy lakes to capture its prey. He is always accompanied by a pack Direwolves, who help him in his raids as the carno do with the Yuti, his adversary in addition. Few creatures dare to face him, only the most "misunderstood geniuses" (or perfectly understood idiots) will dare to face him knowing that even the Snow will be his enemy. In fact, he possesses the ability to use Snow as a weapon to immobilize, buff allies or incinerate enemies to death with his powerful roar, these skills have allowed him to easily defend against his rivals... to such an extent that even our bani they risk being attacked and swallowed by the Snow of this ferocious predator. TAME Taming this creature is not easy, in fact it has a degree of difficulty equal to an alpha thanks to its very debilitating abilities and its legion of beasts. To tame the beast you will have to respect these steps: 1- Eliminate his pack 2- Wait for him to roar to throw Snowballs in his eyes 3- Now mount him and he will start trying to throw you off 4- if you stay on for 30 seconds it will tame Once tamed you will not only have an excellent fighting animal, but also a support creature that will help you, for example, in the arduous fights against Deathworm, Wyvern, Giga, Alpha, Boss, PVP Wars In fact, the gentleman has the ability to armor his allies in Snow with any move he makes, making them damage resistant, halved, and FIREPROOF (get these wyverns!!!). Also he is able to farm Snow for igloos SKILLS AND MOVESETS His main skills are based on total SNOW,DIRT AND SAND CONTROL (GROUND), his moves are: 1- BITE: - As strong as he is he is not as strong as the t-rex, on the other hand he can attack MUCH FASTER, like a bird of prey, to compensate for his lack of strength. 2- TACTICAL ESCAPE: - (When the Dino is low on life) Like a ninja, if he is seriously injured he can trample the Snowy/sandy/dirt ground very hard, raising a cloud like the giant moth's, but bigger so that he can escape in case of need. 3-FEATHER SHOT : - Though the feathers are not very strong the feathers on his tail are quite sharp and are able to launch from his tail damaging anything they hit 4- ROAR OF THE MARAUDERS AND HYPERSONIC: [Left-Ctrl] - Like all the rexes in the game it has two roars compared to the others, one for group assault which, like the Dinopithechis, if it has a group following, unleashes them against everyone, in fact when this is wild what could put even a well leveled t-rex in crisis. Last but not least, he has a roar that needs to recharge after a certain amount of time which is not only his ace up his sleeve, but is purely offensive. In fact, he will emit a roar so powerful that it can tear any type of creature alive in one continuous blow. ( The Hypersonic roar works when you charge the roar and with full stamina charged ) 5- BASIC STATS: He is weaker in stamina and health than the t-rex, but he is more agile, faster and has more stamina (All these skills, when in contact with allies, to armor them giving them resistance and making them FIREPROOF) 6- PACK BUFF: When paired with 3 Direwolves or 2 other Albertosaurus it will gain the pack buff FISICAL ASPECT In appearance it may appear to be a T-Rex leaner and about the size of the Yuti, with some plumage on the upper body. (as in the first photo). His mutations range from black-electric blue to black-purple. When she uses one of his abilities it almost seems like his lungs light up. DROPS Hide Raw Meat Prime Meat Snow (Rare) Pelt Albertosaurus feathers CAN COLLECT Al form of meat (raw meat, prime, meat, mutton meat, expired meat) saddle recipe and level unlock: recipe 370 hide, 5 albertosaurus feathers, 200 fiber, and 20 metal More info: powerful legs to give a weight reduction to metal, obsidian, and wood
  3. location: murder murder snow. appearance: small feathered shoulder mount raptor with ice coming out of it. behavior: normally passive but becomes aggressive near a giga, carcha and rhynio or while the player is holding a flamethrower. taming: passive, will take ice wyvern eggs, the player must not have any flame weapon in their inventory to feed it, effectiveness depends on level. utility: pve use: slows down wild creatures with its spit, passive fur genration like ovis, heat protection. pvp use: each spit makes giga rage meter go up by 5%, destroys 2 bloodrage points on carchar, does a normal slowdown on rhynio and negates shadowmane debuff. while carried will complety prevent the player from being flame debuffed. weakness: can be shot while shoulder mounted by: bow (all types), crossbow, slingshot, longneck rifle, sniper rifle. attacks: bite - unpicked pyroraptor will only do this attack, damage matches normal raptor however with bloodrage stolen from carcha it will match megalodon. ice spit: slows wild dinos, makes giga rage meter go up, steals carcha bloodrage, slows tamed rhynio, normally spits every 8 seconds but with giga rage being stolen will spit faster. frozen shield: will explode negating flame buff but not doing damage every time the player carrying it gets debuffed by flamethrower. after stealling rhynio speed will revert the flamethrower damage back like kentro reverts melee. jump: after the player carrying it dies to: giga, carcha, rhynio, flamethrower, wild creature; the pyroraptor jumps and latches to their side dealling deinon bleed. special variants: aberrant pyroraptor (spawns in mushroom cave, has glowing feathers), cave pyroraptor (spawns in ice cave, has thicker feathers), spirit pyroraptor (ghost version, spawns in the maze, not tameable but drops ghost pyroraptor costume), lava pyroraptor (untameable, spawns as minion in lava golem fight).
  4. Name: Corythosaurus Temporal appearance: Late Cretaceous Nutrition: Herbivore Habitat: North America Aggressiveness: Neutral (As long as you're not too close to the herd) WILD: I was told that the Corythosaurus (Corytho) is mainly in herds that only roam in large areas. As soon as an enemy is nearby, the Corytho decides to protect his flock as well as his brood. That too until the bitter end. However, it is not known that he attacks any other animals for no reason. To signal to the other Corythos that an enemy is nearby, he makes a loud scream. In addition, someone told me that the Coryrthos are able to build nests in which the eggs are hatched. TAMING: Taming a Corytho is not easy. First of all, you have to wait for a pack to be attacked by an enemy and have to survive. Once that's the case, you'll have to help the Corythos defeat the enemy. BUT BEWARE!!! If you get too close to the Corythos, they will start to see you as an enemy. To prevent this, you should try firearms. Once the enemy has died with your help, the Corythos will give you some confidence. However, this trust is not enough to fully approach the herd. To achieve this, you must continue to kill enemies who want to attack the herd. As soon as you get too close to the herd, this advance will be lost and you will be attacked. If you have managed to gain the full trust of the herd, the herd will allow you to claim one of the babies, as they believe that you can protect the baby well. All you have to do is raise it like a normal baby. Domesticated: Herd bonus: As soon as at least 2 Corythos are together, they will receive a herd bonus. This provides a bonus to health, damage, and resistance to the Yuty's fear buff and the Microraptor/Purlovia buff. This health and damage bonus is amplified the more Corythos are together. In general: The Corytho is able to run very fast with a very large stamina. While his life is comparatively high for his size, his damage is relatively average. Its high weight capacity, also makes it ideal as a construction dino. The Corytho has a weight reduction for: -Wood -Thatch -Berries -Hide -Structures Females: Female corythos are able to act as an efficient nanny. This means that babies who are raised by a Corytho nanny are not only fed and shaped, but the Corytho nanny would give everything to protect the babies. In addition, it gives the babies (ONLY the babies) a buff (motherly love), which causes the babies to consume less food and are shaped twice as fast (possibly more efficiently). Males: Males are good at defending the base. As soon as "Groupleader" (or something similar) is activated in the male's radial menu, the male is able to alert his own tamed dinos, which are standing within a certain radius, to dangers with a scream and give them a buff "For the tribe", which gives them a health and damage bonus to fight the enemy. The male can give this buff not only in the base, but also on the go when dinos are within range. Someone told me that the male Corytho is also suitable for bosses. Controls: left-click: simple attack with the beak right-click: strong attack with the fingers c (only for males): "For the tribe" buff
  5. Like its close relative the ankylosaurus stegourus is a great armoured dinosaur however its very aggressive and will try to fight almost anything. Stegourus tail is no joke it can cut any tree making it a great wood collector and fighter if its tail ever hits a dinosaur they will bleed out uncontrollably and if you think a large dino would easily tack it out well you’ll be sorely wrong if it ever hits the creatures leg the large creature will become crippled making it impossible to escape. Stegourus name means roofed tail and its tail is like a solar panel charging with the suns heat and when fully charged it will never run out of stamina, will become faster, and will do 3x damage however this doesn’t work during night. In order to tame stegourus you must wait till night for the dinosaur to fall asleep then you must feed the creature by hand but this is easier said than done because stegourus loves to move in its sleep and if you accidentally touched it, it will wake up and fight you. you will need to wait for the next night to start again as it won’t fall asleep again. it will also wake up if a threat is near.
  6. Tired of taming a Rex for bossfights over and over again? Try Daspletosaurus! Dossier: Daspletosaurus inhabits the hottest ecosystem of Ragnarok: the desert. With their feathered bodies heat doesn´t seem to affect them. More than that, I was able to observe Daspletosaurus half burying themselfs in the sand to take a nap several times. Although Daspltosaurus seems to be quite rare, I could once observe the meeting of two Daspletosaurs. The rather violent fight of the two suggest that they are solitary. At first you might not think so, because Daspletosaurus is not much bigger than Allosaurus, but they are the top of the foog chain. Their small size, compared to their cousins the T-Rex, they make up for with a strong biting force! But they are not really aggressive. Their aggressions seems to be directed only against other Daspletosaurus and their favourite food: ceratopsians. Their neutral nature made me wonder if they could be tamed. During my research I made some very interesting discoveries. Daspletosaurus builds its nests in the desert sand by moistening it with its saliva, creating a kind of clay. This prevents the eggs from getting lost in the sand. At night, the mother lies permanently on top of the eggs so that they do not cool down. I have observed how a mother briefly left the nest to drink and this short moment was apparently sufficient for the eggs to become too cold and the embryos died. Unfortunately, this seems to happen frequently, which probably explains their low numbers on the ark. If only there was some way to help them? Taming: The mother defends the eggs during the day to the blood. Strengthened by the sun and the will to protect her children, other dinos are too afraid to get too close. (daspleto plays a threatening gesture, so that the player knows where the border is. If he crosses it, she roars and creates fear like the yuti, only with 100% direct fear) At night, however, the mother sleeps on her clutch. You can gain her trust by sneaking up on her (ghillie) and dropping a piece of high quality meat from a ceratopsian on the ground in front of her and create distance again. Wait a while until she falls asleep again and repeat the whole process. (again, threatening gesture if you get too close. If you are too close, she stands up and attacks you or fearroars you. in both cases she leaves the nest and the eggs lose 1/3 of their durability (3 chances)). As soon as you earn trust, she puts down her head and opens her mouth. In this mouth you put a piece of meat OR water (0 slot) depending on what she asks for. She swallows and does not put her head down until she is hungry again. You do this until she reaches "Taming" 100%. Once that is reached, you be able to get ONE egg of the clutch. Breeding: Daspletos are breedable. But they ONLY mating in the desert at daytime and their eggs only hatch their too. If a superheat appears, the eggs hatching 5 times faster. non neutered Daspletos are aggressive to each other. You have to turn on mating by the female first, than get the male to her. they will mate and the female will scare away the male after. If the female have cooldown and you put a male to her, they will fight. they will also with other females, so no cluster mating! Abilities: Because Daspleto have a very unique taming and breeding process, they gain several strong abilities to make it worthwhile to tame them. - Can dig itself into the sand and thus protects itself and the rider from sandstorms, super heat and other dangerous weather effectsThey can. - can either create clay passively in inventory or must be set to wander, picks up sand from the ground and spits out clay again (like the achatina) - daspletos do not tolerate conspecifics in the same range as gachas. If two Daspletos get too close, they will attack each other (making them uncryobar in combat would be a consideration) - you can neutere a baby to avoid the aggressions to each other, so you will be able to use them in bossfight. Neutered Daspletos will not draw aggro from other Daspletos! - gets a buff for several real live hours when taking a sand bath. The buff gains damage resistance, a small health reg bonus and better stam reg. - Bonus damage against all ceratopsids and conspecifics. - can lie down to heal a bit quiker - dmg and health reg bonus at super heat and/or in desert biomes Attacks: Left click: Bite (higher base dmg than a rex). If you look infront of you it will normaly bite infront. But if you look back Daspleto will turn like Sarco to bite the enemy behind it. Right click: Tail swipe if you look behind or footstomp if you look infront. Both doing a bit less dmg than the bite but provides a high knockback and slow down enemies. X (single click) - dig in. Can move like Basilisk and Players oxygen drains while burrowed. Click x again to splash out of the sand with a anklebite which do a bit less dmg than the bite but sow down enemies and giving them a bleeding debuff. (digging has a cooldown) Also this attack blends riders with sand in their eyes. Comsume a good amount of stamina when moving under the sand! X (holding) - get ready for a sand bath! Get the Sandbath buff ctrl - Females WITH mating cooldown: Fearroar similiar to Yuti fearroar. Non neuteres males get the courage roar instead alt: Crunch. Higher base dmg than the bite and cause a strong bleeding debuff
  7. Ragnorok to me has always been a really big PVP map, so I thought why not try to introduce another turtle-like creature that would give Carbonemys a little friend and try and saitiate the hunger that PVP players have for their shields. Thus the HENODUS Arks first ever weildable creature. Henodus was a Placodont lived in and around the shallow, brackish lagoons of Europe during the late Triassic period, around 228 million to 200 million years ago. It was herbivorous though has also been thought of as a filter-feeder, and would allow survivors to take on each other and provide another option in between tek shields and riot shields. WILD In the wild, survivors can find Henodus in the lagoons of Ragnarok; it likes to float around the bottom of these lagoons and look for any kind of plant matter it can scrape off and chew with its odd mouth. They are relatively docile creatures but will fight back before trying to make a hasty exit. Unfortunately, Megalodons, the Basilosaurs, and some carnivorous land creatures find these little Placodonts irresistible. The Henodus does try to fight back and, if in a group, can possibly take down a Megalodon, but will end up as an empty shell if left to a group of hungry Megalodons. They have been seen to travel out of their watery homes to try and lay eggs and bask in the warm sunlight, but then become prey to all the large carnivores that would like to get to their nutritious heno meat. TAMING PROCESS Certain survivors and tribes, especially those that live around the coasts of these lagoons that Henodus calls home, have had luck taming these little masochistic Placodonts. They say that if you go out and protect these little guys, they become fanatics of those that are helping them. They will swim around and follow the survivors like little water puppies until they finally find enough solace with the carnage the survivors inflict on those who wish to take a bite out of the tough Henodus shell and will then allow their saviors to pick them up. TAMED Once tamed, survivors have said that the Henodus likes to ride about on the backs of the ones that saved it but, given the command, will switch to their savior's arm to act as the shield for the ones that shielded them. Tribes have noticed that the shells of the Henodus are pretty sturdy to damage and can withstand taking barrages of bullets by having them deflect off the odd shape of their carapace. Their Henodus does not seem all too bothered by the impacts though enough sustained damage will eventually cause the Henodus to succumb to the damage inflicted. Survivors have also been seen having sword duels while using their specific Henodus as their shield during the fight and will bash into one another, stunning each other from round to round. Though for those tribes that do not wish to inflict pain on their little water friends, instead allow their Henodus to protect and reflect any damage from other survivors on their backside, allowing them to have a better chance of being able to then turn about and destroy those that dare harm their Henodus. OTHER Tribes that tamed and bred some Henodus have noticed that specific mutations allow for hardier carapaces that allow their little living shields more damage resistance and better overall durability before they need a rest to certain weapons and damage types, along with one tribe that had found a mutation that turned their Henodus into bright red living shields that inflicted fear among those that opposed them. Certain tribes that have tamed wyverns have also found that mutated Henodus had become more protected from the elemental attacks of their wyverns and became very important when fending off those attacks from other wyverns. Since no specific tame has ever operated like this, this will be a quick summary of what I just typed. Henodus is what I would call your very own customizable shield that your survivors can use to run turrets of others and fight hand to hand; it would be an in-between, most likely between tek shields and riots. Lower level/mutated Henodus could be all over the shield line, from wooden to possibly tek. They would work similarly to Sinomacrops; when you press the corresponding button, they would essentially flip from being a shoulder mount to your offhand and possibly have a bash attack that you could perform to stun particular smaller creatures and players. They would show up in first person just like standard shields but with their little head and eyes looking right at you as you use them to fend off bullets. When on your survivor's back, you would be shielded from bullets and damage that others might try and snipe you from the back. They are just shielding your back. You can also breed these little buggers to make them hardier to specific kinds of damage, like making them better at reducing melee damage but taking more damage from bullets and vice versa. While also able to do other general mutations for colors, health, and the like. So given enough mutations, you could have a Henodus shield that could soak hundreds or maybe a thousand bullets and protect any attack from the back or possibly even be able to withstand Rhyniognatha resin, Wyvern attacks, or Reaper attacks. On a final note, I want these guys to be little battle buddies and rewarding for PVP players that put the time in caring for and customizing their Henodus, so while not being ridable, hopefully their range of shielding capabilities makes up for them. Also I do not own the photos of Henodus, but they are pretty cool. Please give your own feed back, and try suggesting more things that could be cool for the Henodus.
  8. STOMATOSUCHUS was a stomatosuchid neosuchian that lived during the Late Cretaceous. It lived alongside some of the largest predatory Dinosaurs to have ever lived. DOSSIER - Name: Stomatosuchus Inermis Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Piscivore Temperament: Aggressive WILD Stomatosuchus can be found in the Desert & River . Its diet consists mostly of fish however it may prey on smaller dinos if necessary. Despite its large size, it's still frequently preyed on by larger crocodilians and some large theropods. If provoked, the stomatosuchus will attack the survivor, possibly trying to swallow it whole. TAMING To tame a Stomatosuchus, the survivor must passively feed it dead fish, similar to an otter. The survivor must wait for it to go to land and fall asleep, which is when the survivor must feed it. Fish with larger sizes will boost the taming effectiveness and speed up the taming process. DOMESTICATED Stomatosuchus doesn't need a saddle to ride on, however it does contain natural armour similar to a shadowmane. This creature is also very fast in water, almost being as fast as a Sarcosuchus. The Stomatosuchus possesses a powerful bite that may be charged up while holding down it's primary attack. Stomatosuchus also has the ability to swallow smaller creatures and even survivors. Stomatosuchus is especially effective at helping the survivor obtain fish baskets. Fish will passively swim up to the Stomatosuchus where the survivor can easily trap them. Once tamed, the fish can then be stored in the Stomatosuchuses throat pouch and released when in another body of water. SADDLE Stomatosuchus doesn't need a saddle to ride on but if you wanna fight against any high level Creatures or Bosses then you must have to unlock it's saddle at level 85 and that saddle is the Armoured Saddle with 2 Automatic Turrets and need some Gasoline to use the Turrets. Equiped the Armoured Saddle on Stomatosuchus, then it is also 100% immune to Lava, Hot & Cold weather. Finally, While you riding Stomatosuchus into the underwater, then you don't need scuba tank or else because Stomatosuchus will give you 100% oxygen into the underwater without sacrificing of its health or anything. And Stomatosuchus is 100% immune to Electricity because of it's Armour. Also Stomatosuchus have unlimited Giga bite damage for some moments to use against the Bosses & any high level Dinos or else. It can gather & produce lots of Oils.
  9. Dossier: Common Name: Ornimegalonyx Species: Ornimegalonyx Terranoctua Time: Late Pleistocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: Ornimegalonyx is a giant terrestrial species of owl that lives in plains and deserts. Like most ground owls, they burrow underground and make dens, but unlike most, they hunt at night. Also unlike most burrowing owls, they seem to still have some control over their abnormally large wings that normal ground owls don’t have. Their feathers seem to fold against its body very well, allowing them to be very aerodynamic. This influences their hunting style, going to large heights, and sky diving at their prey. The most interesting part of the owl is its stealthiness. The Ornimegalonyx doesn't even make a peep while hunting, even when jumping around with its strong legs. Ornimegalonyx seems to have a certain hunting style that not only make it faster and fierce, but make them completely silent, to the point where creatures with echolocation can't even hear them. They do, however, hate certain light producing objects. Domesticated: Ornimegalonyx is an incredible stealth hunter that can very easily take out a target one after another. If that wasn’t good enough, I’ve seen survivors strap on jets onto the backs of these, allowing them to use their wings again. The fuel used for the jets, made from unique chemicals of the Ark, seem to combust very quietly. Funny enough, the jet's booster can accelerate loudly at fast speed and allow the owl to swoop at anything small enough it can grab. Gameplay: Ornimegalonyx will be a tad bit bigger than a Terror Bird. It will spawn in the dunes or (in the plains on other maps) in packs of 2 to 3. They will attack medium sized creatures. They might surprise attack players by burrowing underground. They only spawn during the night, and during the day they will be underground. Taming Information: Ornimegalonyx are a knockout tame that can only be tamed during the night. While their torpor does drain at a super fast rate,if there is an electrical storm, any Charge related source, or fire light, touches it, then their torpor will drain at a normal rate. Creature abilities: Passive: During the night, the Ornimegalonyx is able to be ignored by all wild creatures. Ornimegalonyx makes very little noise. Has Stalker vision during the night. First Ability, Slash Ornimegalonyx will perform a basic claw slash or peck while running, and will do around the same amount of damage as the Terror Bird Second Ability: Jump Ornimegalonyx will do a leap similar to Ferox, being more horizontal than vertical Third Ability: Float Ornimegalonyx does a float like there Terror Bird, except descends a lot quicker. Fourth Ability: Sky Dive While in the air, the can land back on the ground, similar to a Managamr dive, except if a target is hit, the Ornimegalonyx will pin any small target to the ground, and will start scratching at it. Has 25% armor piercing. Uses a lot of stamina Fifth Ability: Prowl Will grant the Prowl Buff until toggled off or stamina runs out. Prowl will make the Ornimegalonyx completely silent, where Parsaurs and Desmodus can’t detect them. Damage and Speed also increase by 30%. While Prowl is activated, the Ornimegalonyx stamina will drain at a pretty fast rate. Will automatically deactivate if Charge is around. Fifth Ability: Burrow Ornimegalonxy burrows underground like a Basilisk, but moves at a much slower rate. If Jet saddle is equipped, Ornimegalonxy can shoot itself out of the ground. Will cause a lot of noise Jet Saddled: Allows Ornimegalonyx to fly, just being a bit slower than the Desmodus, but doesn’t have a good turning radius. Skydive happens much quicker. Sixth Ability: Swoop Ornimegalonyx will swoop down, and grab a smaller target and throw them forward a considerable distance. Will create a lot of noise Seventh Ability: Sky Burrow: While in the air, Ornimegalonyx will do a straight dive back into the ground, and burrow itself. Other Information: Immune to fall damage. Has normal breeding function with its breeding stats being similar to a Snow Owl. Has a Primitive saddle that is unlocked at level 56 that has armor value. The Jet saddle can be unlocked at level 68 with no armor value and can be crafted in a fabricator. A special fuel used for the jet saddle, called Augmented Gasoline, can be made in the Chemical Bench or Mortar and Pestle, made from gasoline, angler gel, and polymer. Can be hit with bola and net. Weapons can be used on this creature. Gameplay Uses: Ornimegalonyx will be an excellent stealth creature, with its being able to take down one target at a time with anything noticing. Its skydive will be this creature's main attack, being able to dismount survivors and deal major damage to them. If that doesn’t work, then its prowl can be used to finish a target off. Not to mention its jet saddle, which not only gives it the ability to fly, but also buff it's already good skydive and another dismount that can quickly relocate an enemy survivor so that they will have no help. This creature can also be amazing at rocket runs, with its two attacks that greatly increase its speed, one of which makes it immune to Parasaur detection. It can escape and surprise players with its burrowing abilities. Another cool thing about this creature is that you have a choice how to play it, with one saddle offering armor, and the other offering no armor, but extra abilities. However, it does have counters, being very mediocre at killing other mounts, and its Prowl can be completely counter with a Charge source. In PVE, this creature is excellent to use for taming or going out in the wild, with creature deaggoeing really quick off of it. Overall, this creature could be super fun to use in PVP, and would add a stealth creature to the game, something Ark doesn’t have a lot of. I thought it would be cool to add another owl to the games, since the one we have in the game isn’t really owl like. When I was searching one up though, this is the first one to show up. The only problem being it was a giant burrowing owl. So it thought it would be cool to allow this thing to still fly, but with the help of its saddle. The idea of adding another owl to the game was to make a stealth creature, similar to owl in real life, but since the Ornimegalonyx is a burrowing owl, it was fun to give it attributes from both burrowing and flying owls. Pictures: (None of these images are owned by myself)
  10. Dossier: Common Name: Hallucigenia Species: Hallucigenia Monstrumvernis Time: Cambrian Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild If I haven't seen Hallucigenia Monstrumvernis in the flesh, I would've assumed it was made up or from some Sci-Fi flick, yet its mere existence shocks me. While Hallucigenia have an almost alien-like appearance, they are actually a relative of modern day velvet worms. Unlike the fossils of Hallucigenia already discovered, Hallucigenia Monstrumvernis is as big as a small car and has rows of teeth in its mouth. The scariest part of Hallucigenia is its chemicals stored in its body. The chemicals can be sprayed out of the bottom arms or the top spikes of the Hallucigenia in the form of gas. The unidentified chemical causes anybody who inhales to panic and hallucinate, making any target easy prey. Hallucigenia mostly stays in the shallow part of the ocean, where sea life won’t attack it, but sometimes comes out to hunt on beaches. Once Hallucigenia finds prey, it shoots slime-like substances out of its main pair of arms, and then drags its prey in. The Hallucigenia then injects its bottom arms and toxin into its victim, securing the kill and allowing Hallucigenia to start eating away at its victim alive. Even if a man or creature escapes the grasp in a drugged state, Hallucigenia can use the slime excreted from the top arms as tentacles, allowing it to whip its opponents from farther away. Domesticated: While I haven’t found how to domesticate a Hallucigenia, my theory is that if a chemical were to counteract its own immunity to its fear toxins, then it would be acceptable to domesticate. The survivors that have managed to tame Hallucigenia have used its unique anatomy to its fullest potential. The fear toxins allow Hallucigenia to defend itself from predators, other survivors, and can even make creatures more acceptable to tranquilizers. I’ve even seen survivors demonstrate its mobility, by teaching Hallucigenia to curl up in a ball and roll on its sturdy spikes. Hallucigenia might give most survivors nightmares, but if you can get over that, then you have yourself one of the most useful and bizarre creatures a survivor can tame. Gameplay Wild Information: Hallucigenia is around the size of a Baryonx and will mostly spawn in the shallow end of the ocean, and very rarely spawn on the beach itself. It will only attack small to medium sized creatures and all creatures will ignore it unless attacked. Once the Hallucigenia aggros onto something small enough, it will grab it and damage its target similar to a Bloodstalker. You can swing to get out of the grab and if a target does, then it will chase it while spray its toxins Taming Information: Hallucigenia is a passive tame that can only be fed on land once affected by its own fear gas. The Hallucigenia can be led onto land by attaching itself to an aquatic tame. The only way to make them affected by their own gasses is to shoot ammonite bile arrows/darts into the Hallucigenia. After it is affected by its toxin it will start to flee and allow the survivor to feed it. Its favorite food is Mindwipe toxins, which make it an instant tame, but mutton and raw meat can work as well. Creature abilities: Passive: Deals 25% damage from melee attack back at target. Immune to Paranoia unless affected by Ammonite bile. Can move in horizontal directions. Saddle has a built in oxygen tank built in, so players mounted are immune to any toxic gasses (Poison grenades, Poison Balls, Hallucigenia Toxin, etc). New Status: Paranoia is a debuff that can stack up to 100. Once infected with Paranoia between 1-99%, the target will take 25% more damage and deal 30% less damage. If fully infected with Paranoia, the target will take 80% damage from Hallucigenia. If the target is a tamed creature at 100%, they have a similar visual effect to a Yuty fear and run away. If the target is a human with 100%, they will be blinded like a Yuty debuff, but will also have their game volume lowered, except for Hallucigenia sound effects, which will randomly play or can replace other creature sound effects. Wild creatures at full Paranoia will take 30% more torpor damage. Paranoia will slowly decrease over time, or can be quickly decreased by Yuty and Mammoth buff. First Ability, or RT:: Slash: Hallucigenia will swing its top arms at anybody close. If nothing is in its attack range, it will extend its attack with hardened slime coming out of its tentacles. This attack will have a 8 foundation range, but has very little horizontal AOE. This attack does a little more damage then a Bloodstalker melee. Second Ability: Hold RT Grab: Like a Bloodstalker, the Hallucigenia will grab its target with its extended tentacles and pull the target closer. It can grab the same creature that the Bloodstalker can and has the same range as a Bloodstalker grab, but the Hallucigenia reticle will not have an aim assist and it will take a second windup for Hallucigenia to start the grab animation. Once grabbed, the target will slowly get infected with Paranoia. Once fully pulled in, the Hallucigenia will inject its lower arm into the target, giving it 100% Paranoia and start sucking on the head of the target. This attack will deal a bit more damage than a Bloodstalker grab, but has no armor piercing. If used on an aquatic or swimming tame that is above its drag weight, it will grapple itself to it. Third Ability: or LB and RT Fear Toxin: The Hallucigenia has a HUD meter that shows the amount of Fear Toxin in its reservoir. Hallucigenia oxygen is replaced with Fear Toxin Capacity, which can be leveled, but very little. Once LB is held, the Hallucigenia will slow down like a Velonsaur and main attacks switch to the Fear Toxin stance. Once used, the Hallucigenia will spray orange fear gas into the air from a distance of 4 foundations then linger for 3 seconds and depletes Fear Toxin from its reservoir. It is like a flamethrower except it stays for a couple of seconds. The gas texture will be an orange poison grenade that is easier to see through. If in the gas, a target will quickly stack Paranoia. If the target wears a hazmat helmet or gas mask, they are immune. Cannot work underwater. Ally creatures and players can be affected. Doesn’t stack with Yuty fear, instead applying more Yuty fear if Yuty fear is already applied, and vice versa. Fourth Ability: or LB and LT Fear Toxin AOE: The Hallucigenia will go into Fear Toxin stance and spray Fear Toxin out of its top spikes, which surround it in a 4x4 foundation radius. Everything is the same as the normal Fear Toxin attack, except it depletes more Fear Toxin. Cannot work underwater. Ally creatures and players can be affected. Fifth Ability: or LT Mobility Stance: Hallucigenia will roll up into a ball, a lot like a Roll Rat. The Hallucigenia will not deal damage and will be slightly slower than a Roll Rat, but the turn radius is greatly decreased. Unlike the Roll Rat, Hallucigenia doesn’t move forward once the Mobility Stance is activated. Sixth Ability: or A Jump: Does a small jump. If used in a Mobility stance, the Hallucigenia will jump the same height, but still have momentum and can use its melee and grab attack while in the air. Seventh Ability: or Right Stick Toggle Climb/Sink: Hallucigenia has a climb similar to Rock Drake and Megalania, and can sink and attach to the ground underwater like an Andrewsarchus. Other Information: The Hallucigenia can be affected by radiation. Immune to fall damage. Can breathe underwater. Anything from Argy and up can pick it up. It has normal breeding with breeding stats comparable to a Mantis. The Saddle can be unlocked at level 72 and crafted in the fabricator. At the same level, Ammonite Arrows can be made, which is an arrow that gives the ammonite debuff. Immune to fear. Can be hit with bola and net. Weapons cannot be used on this creature. Gameplay Uses: The main purpose of this creature is to lock down areas and take down any threats that come close to it. It has amazing offensive capabilities with its high mobility, disjointed long attacks, and a dismount. Its paranoia can also completely counter enemy players by disabling all of their senses and by being able to deal massive range blows. It also has amazing defensive abilities, with its fear toxin being able to stop enemy pushing to certain areas, unless they want to get Paranoia, which buffs Hallucigenia’s already good range attacks, and can also obscure vision with the gas being kind of hard to see through, and its damage reflection being icing on the cake. The weakness of this creature, however, is that it cannot do all of this at once and has several counters. The main negative about Hallucigenia is that its a glass cannon with its heath stat being around the same amount as a Terror Bird. For it to be amazing at defense, it has to be slow and predictable, meaning the rider is acceptable to be shot at. Also Paranoia doesn’t stack all at once and Hallucigenia has no damage option while spraying fear toxins, so swift offensive attacks can take one out, with the cost of suffering from partial side effects. Not to mention gas masks and hazmat helmets completely negate the gasses’ effects and Yuty and Mammoth, both popular creatures in the current meta, can greatly reduce the time for Paranoia to go away. For it to be amazing at offense it has to get out of a secure area and be acceptable to attacks that it cannot handle with most mobility-based creatures, such as wyverns, tropes, and manas, being able to take Hallucigenia down with ease. Any ranged attack completely negates Hallucigenia damage reflection. Hallucigenia is a skill based tame that relies on strong follow through to be good with, and good placement and understatement of surroundings. If you can do that then you have yourself one of the best creatures in the game, that can counter most non-mobile creatures in the game, including Gigas. It doesn’t take away from other creatures like Bloodstalkers and Yuty either, with Bloodstalkers being more mobile and easy to use, and Yuty having a better ranged debuff that is better for teammates than itself. For any PVE player, this thing is also a taming machine, making tranq more effective to use, and being a pretty good mobility creature on the right maps. Overall, this creature might not be meta defining, with it rather being very strong or very weak, it will be a fun addition to the games, with it still having a fun and unique design but also keeping it down to earth unlike later expansion pack creatures. I wanted more Cambrian creatures in Ark because they are so weird looking, you would expect them to be a Wildcard original creature, but turns out they actually existed, which really gives light to the crazy amount of insane looking organisms that lived on our planet. The main fear gimmick is based on the name of Hallucigenia, which was given to it by its “”bizarre and dream-like quality” as described by the people who discovered the fossils. Hallucigenia sounds like hallucinate, and what would be a better concept then to give it something that had to do with making the player and other creatures hallucinate, and at the same time making its fear unique in how it works and how it is applied. Its arms shooting out slime is a concept taken from its later ancestor, the velvet worms, who shoot the slime to capture prey. I didn’t want it to have a debuff and a crowd control ability, so I gave it the ability to use the slime as tentacles extending from its arms to make it more alien-like. Pictures (I do not own any of these)
  11. Dossier: Common Name: Facivermis Species: Facivermis Locosomnium Time: Cambrian Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Short-Tempered Wild If I were to describe Facivermis Locovermis in one word, it would be insanity. This giant worm has 10 arms and an elastic posterior shaped like a bulb (that as it turns out is literally a light bulb) lives deep underwater. If it wasn’t crazy enough, these things use their ends to anchor themselves to the seafloor and lunge at anything that it can grab, the largest I’ve ever seen being Megaladons, however if it just wanted a little snack, then it will use its illuminated tail to attract unfortunate prey, and finish them off with a heavy blow with the same tail. To top it all off, these things also rarely live in swamp areas, where it competes with even Spinosaurus, being able to bully them around with heavy blows from its tail. What can’t this tail do? Facivermis isn’t a force of nature however, it is very vulnerable to loud sounds, and can even start to come immobilized from it. If you can somehow manage to kill these worms, you can harvest its bulb to get the bioluminescent gel or use it as a siege weapon. Domesticated: Normal tranqs do not work on Facivermis, however if something soft and smooth were to deal heavy enough impact damage to Facivermis without it breaking open its head, it could theoretically get knocked out. I have seen domesticated Facivermis be surprisingly playful and loyal to its owners, almost like a dog or cat would, and I even caught one playing with some baby creature within the tribe. Facivermis are also ruthless in battle, with it being able to use its utility tail for a multitude of things, including throwing it at creatures, using it as an anchor, and even throwing it into the air and using the momentum to send it flying. I’ve even seen the bioluminescent chemical in its tail being able to be lit on fire without bothering the Facivermis at all. God got real creative with this one. Gameplay: Wild Information: Facivermis are a little bit bigger than a Wyvern and will spawn in groups up to 2-3 deep underwater or very rarely in the swamps. It will attack any creature up to a Rex in the wild. If far away, it will use its Tail Throw. Underwater, its tall will be anchored to the ground, and if anything up to a Megalodon comes toward it, it will lunge at it and start to thrash its target. If a creature roars or explosions go off, then the Facivermis will recoil. If drums or any other rapid sound are played near the Facivermis for long enough, then it will stay stunned for about 10 seconds as shown by a special animation. Taming Information: Facivermis is a knock out tame similar to Rock Golem and Karkinos where you have to hit its head to deal torpor. The gimmick of this taming method is it has to be hit with a Facivermis tail to deal torpor. There are two ways of doing this. A) Having another Facivermis use it Tail Throw at the head of another Facivermis. B) Climbing up a Facivermis back while stunned will cause it to wind up a tail attack and hit its head. After its knocked out, it can only be fed with Angler Gel and a lot of it, but its food does goes down really quickly Creature abilities: Passive: If lit on fire, it gets the Ignition buff. If the tail is damaged only 50% of damage will be inflicted on the Facivermis. If Angler Gel and a torch combine in its inventory, it will receive the Ignition Buff for 30 seconds New Buff: Ignition Tail attacks will now do fire damage. New Debuff: Startled Startled is applied when enemy roars or explosions are set off near Facivermis. Startled is a percent based debuff, with 1-99% making Facivermis 10% slower and 20% stamina drain, and 100% dismounting the rider, making him ignore whistle commands, and making him 30% slower with the same stamina debuff. The larger the creature or explosion is, the more Startled is applied. For example a Giga roar will give 15% Startled while a Sinomacrop roar will give it 5%. Another example would be grenade will only give 8%, while rockets while give 20% First Ability, or RT: Jab: Does a simple jab melee attack with its arms. Does around the same damage as a Dire Bear. If held in the air, it will be able to grab Second Ability: LT Tail Swipe: Facivermis will do a above average damage tail swipe with large AOE and high knockback, but will be slow and has end lag, think of it like a Bronto. Ignore armor. Uses a large amount of stamina. Third Ability: Hold LT Tail Throw: Once LT is held, it will show a reticle and once released the Facivermis will throw its tail. If used on or a little bit above ground level, it will throw its tail without moving to do massive damage and a lot of knockback. Has a 8 second cooldown, has a 15 foundation radius, and completely destroys structure up to stone, but barely damages metal. Ignore armor. If a target is not hit, then it will leave its tail exposed for a second. If an attack is used on the head of any cannon/catapult tamed, then it will deal torpor. If Facivermis has Ignition, then once the tail makes an impact, it will explode and cause fire damage and then get rid of Ignition. Fourth Ability: Tail Fling: Once used, it will send the tail flying in the air with the Facivermis falling behind and while dealing moderate damage and knockback on landing. If the Right Stick is pressed during this process, then wherever the tail lands it will be its anchor. Fifth Ability: Down on Right Stick Anchor: Facivermis will anchor itself to whatever surface it is on. If used on a vertical surface, it can dangle from its anchor. Facivermis can go 20 foundations away from its anchor. Get rid of Ignition. Sixth Ability: LT while Anchored: Lunge: Facivermis will lunge at a reticle from a 20 foundation radius and bring back to its anchor. It will go on its back and if RT is held, it will start thrashing and dealing high damage to whatever it grabs for 10 seconds or if enough damage is dealt to it. Seventh Ability: Down on Right Stick while Anchored: Reel In: Facivermis will quickly go back to its anchor point, if pressed again it will detach. Eighth Ability: LB then Hold Right Stick: Lure: It will start to glow its tail, causing wild creatures and tamed creatures to follow to the light. Ninth Ability: LB then Hold Right Stick Toggle Climb/Sink: Can climb on surfaces like Rock Drake and can sink to the bottom of water like Karkinos. Other Information: Immune to radiation. Immune to fall damage. Can breathe underwater. Anything bigger than a Quetzal can pick it up. Has to be bred underwater and its breeding stats are similar to a Spino. The saddle is unlocked at level 85. It drops a unique item called a Facivermis Bulb. It can be put into a mortar and pestle crafted into 50 Facivermis Gel, which is a substitute for Organic Polymer or Angler Gel, or can be put on a catapult, which then acts like a larger version of Plant Z seeds. Emotes with the player, similar to Bloodstalker. Can’t be hit with bola, but can be hit with a net. Weapons cannot be used on this creature. Gameplay Uses: Facivermis’s role in the meta is to be a wildcard tame, sort of like a Reaper or a Wyvern. It's a creature that can just show up out of nowhere and turn a whole battle around. Its mobility and insane range/ crowd control can change up a whole strategy in an instant. It can counter most creatures in the game, with the largest creature it can grab being a wyvern/quetzal out of the air and on land being Stego and Mammoths. It also has tools to distance enemy dinos and players and are able to retreat quickly. It can even lure away enemy dinos from enemy players right into a turret wall or high damage dino. The biggest benefit of the creature is that it can attack from anywhere and completely counter an enemy raid. However, if any enemy player prepares for a Facivermis, they will be highly rewarded. It has a smaller healthpool for its size, meaning enemy fire can take one out quickly. Its tail attack requires a large amount of stamina and can be used without it, so if you can get a Facivermis on the run, it can’t run for long. Also offensive creatures such as Gigas, Rexes, Spinos, and Reapers cannot be grabbed, so can rush down a Facivermis that is low on stamina. Even faster creatures such as Mana and Bloodstalker, while not being immune to the grab, are highly mobile and hard to hit, and can easily shut it down with their crowd control/grabbing abilities. It cannot move while it has something grabbed, so it is completely vulnerable to attacks, This is not to mention its main counter being loud sounds. The Startled effect might go away quickly and can be rather hard to stack, but once a Facivermis is Startled, it can turn the tide of a battle a lot like a Giga rage. For any PVE player, the creature will be a pretty mobile and good damage tame to be used, not to mention it can grab Quetzal out of the sky without harming it and it can knock out pesky cannon/catapult tames. Overall, this creature, like the Reaper and Wyvern, can completely change encounters over its head and does it in a unique and fun way. This creature could affect the meta a ton, or a moderate amount, just depending on how it is balanced. It can bring a new challenge to the game, but also solve a lot of problems at the same time. I wanted more Cambrian creatures in Ark because they are so weird looking, you would expect them to be a Wildcard original creature, but turn out they actually existed, which really gives light to the crazy amount of insane looking organisms that lived on our planet. The Facivermis really caught my eye in terms of looks and potential. It's one of those creatures that could've just been as large as its real life counterpart, only a couple of cm, but can be enlarged to take full advantage over its unique appearance. Its lunging attacks are actually how it hunted in real life, attaching itself to the seafloor, then grabbing anything it can find. The idea for it having a flammable tail actually comes from its name translating to “torch worm. Pictures: (None of which are owned by myself)
  12. Introducing Gorgonops, ARK’s Dagger-toothed Bloodhound Common Name: Gorgonops Species: Gorgonops secutor Time: Late Permian Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: “Gorgnops secutor has the most developed sense of smell I’ve witnessed among the local wildlife. It’s a hunter in every sense of the word: once it memorizes the scent of its next prey, it will seek it out anywhere, no matter how far it runs. Gorgonops prefers to take its time to bring down its target, since it’s no fast runner. Furthermore, its sturdy physique allows it to resist venom and toxins that would knock out or even kill any other creature of the same size. That means Gorgonops doesn’t have to worry about snake bites, bug stings, poison gas and such! Good thing it’s not so ravenous to devour anything it smells!” Domesticated: “I’ve met some ingenious survivors who specialized in training their Gorgonops as bloodhounds. This beast’s smelling is so masterly, it can be taught to recognize the scent of just about anything. Wild herbivores, tamed creatures, enemy survivors, you name it! It can even learn to detect hidden traps or treasures! Moreover, tracking creatures such as Parasaurus are able to detect threats from greater distances, with a tamed Gorgonops’ help. But that’s not all: thanks to its durability, survivors can use Gorgonops to carry knocked out creatures on a special transport sledge.” Introduction: Greetings, survivors! I introduce to you the stalker of scent; the Gorgonops! The foundational ideas and selling points for this therapsid include: Role as a tracker and taming assistant Taming method involving kidnapping Ability to find max-level creatures Immunity to torpor and toxins Enhances the tracking abilities of other creatures Can drag unconscious creatures to safer locations for taming The Gorgonops has repeatedly appeared in votes and makes it to the Top 10 consistently, but hasn’t made it through. As one of ARK’s scrapped creatures and one of the few from the mainstream to have not made it into the game, this concept for Ragnarok will give it time to shine. Wild: Gorgonops most often patrol the arid zones of Ragnarok. Their incredible sense of smell allows them to detect creatures in a wide range around them. Not being very fast, they tend to go after specifically slower prey, which includes survivors. They’re patient, and will track down their targets until an opportunity presents itself. You’ll usually find Gorgonops in mated pairs, since they guard something valuable. Taming Process: To protect their offspring from the dangers of the ARK, Gorgonops will build their dens in more secure and healthy areas. In these dens, they will store food and raise their pups isolated from the outside world. Survivors can enter these dens and kidnap the pups for themselves. However, parents have increased aggression towards anything within the vicinity of their dens, gaining a parental buff. The owners of the den will need to be dealt with in whatever way a survivor desires, and ensure that they can collect the pups in relative safety. From there, survivors will need to tend to the young beast’s needs until they are satisfied and reach adulthood. Tamed: Congratulations! You’ve successfully tamed a Gorgonops! With such a fierce predator and expert tracker in your hands, its utility will be immeasurable. Actions: Primary Attack (, , ): A basic bite attack. This ignores armor. Secondary Attack (, , ): The Gorgonops raises its nose to the air and takes in a scent. A reticle will appear, allowing for aim. Creatures sniffed out by a Gorgonops will be permanently tracked until they sniff out a different target. The current target will have their level and stats revealed like HLNA. Learning the scent of a specific animal will allow the Gorgonops to passively identify others of that species in the future. They can also identify the smells of objects like traps and explorer notes. Roar (Click C, , ): A strictly cosmetic roar. Jump (Press Space, , ): A basic jump. Cannot jump with the Gorgonops Sled Saddle. Passive Abilities: Autoalert: Like a Parasaur, the Gorgonops can detect specific threats. Because of its sense of smell, it can better pinpoint specific species. However, it needs to have been exposed to the scent before in order to properly warn their masters. Immunities: Gorgonops are immune to the effects of torpor, poisons, and radiation. Gorgonops Den: In their inventory, survivors can craft a den like those found in the wild. This structure can house anything up to the size of an adult Gorgonops and can store food like a trough. Babies will be able to eat from the stored reserves, and will grow at a faster rate while in the den. There is also notable insulation. Treasure Hunting: When idle, Gorgonops have a chance to uncover rare resources, equipment, blueprints that are added to their inventory. The quality of unearthed gear is entirely random. Tracking Buff: Nearby creatures with similar tracking ability such as Parasaurs, Troodons, and Direwolves have their own detection range increased in the presence of a Gorgonops. Sled Saddle: The Gorgonops has a standard Gorgonops Saddle. A more advanced Gorgonops Sled Saddle can be constructed as well. Unconscious creatures can be placed onto the sled and transferred to a different location. Multiple Gorgonops may be required to drag larger creatures. Two for a Rex, three for a Bronto, etc. Having this saddle equipped prevents jumping. The sled saddle can also carry cargo and can have structures placed on it’s surface area, great for sleigh rides in the snow and dessert also able to be used as a carry bus for multiple players if chairs are placed on it, because Gorgo is very quick it’s a faster alternative to platform saddle creatures and diplos. The sled can be used as a battering ram fill the sled up with rocks and switch to battering ram lead the Gorgo up a slope and detach the sled it will proceed to quickly crash down the hill destroying any structures in its path. Parental Buff (Wild Only): In the presence of their own pups, wild Gorgonops receive a buff that increases damage output and damage resistance. Pups raised by survivors don’t develop this behavior. Utility & Scenarios: PvE: Gorgonops provide lots of use when it comes to taming creatures. Their scent being able to identify the levels and stats of creatures makes finding worthy tames far easier. Bringing unconscious creatures to safety as they tame is also incredibly helpful. If you need to return to a particular creature later since you don’t have the resources, you can leave the creature marked and come back once you’re ready. The Gorgonops Den is great for raising babies with the growth buff and food reserves. The den can also act as a temporary base when on the go. Digging up valuable treasure is certainly valuable in itself. Gorgonops may see use in swamps and other areas with lots of venomous insects and beasts. PvP: Gorgonops make for great base defenders. Their autoalert defining specific species is paired well with Parasaurs who identify particular groups of enemies, now at an increased range. In the midst of a fight, their fangs come into good use when ignoring armor of all kinds, allowing them to deal high damage to normally beefy targets. If a target is sent on the run, the Gorgonops can pick up on their scent and hunt them down until they’re caught. Sniffing out traps can ease raiding by helping raid parties avoid disaster. The main thing to note is that the Gorgonops isn’t a great fighter. It operates more as an ambushing assassin that ganks when opportunities present themselves. Directly involving themselves in battle leaves them vulnerable to creatures who fill those bruising roles better. Conclusion: If there is any creature that truly deserves to join the roster of ARK, it is the Gorgonops. Countless entries in previous submissions with a wide variety of ideas show that this creature can work! In the most popular map of ARK history, bringing back a scrapped creature, and a popular one at that, would give players the best gaming experience imaginable. Have fun, survivors! 14. The Stranded Salvation server is a casual PVPVE community looking to enjoy ARK’s many challenges and rewards. Our server attempts to create a balanced ARK experience by keeping boosted rates and settings to a minimum. However, we do accept player feedback and will make any changes that the majority of the community wants to see. Some of our rates: Harvesting: 2x Taming Speed: 1.5x Mature Speed: 30x (by request of the server community) We also have things like: slower player starvation, slower crop decay, doubled stack sizes (for certain items), and other minor alterations to default rates and settings Our server does not have many rules, and many disagreements are settled in game through diplomacy or raids. However, that being said, it is highly discouraged to wipe tribes off the map entirely. It is almost always unnecessary to wipe a tribe and can cause players to leave. More details about rules can be found in our server discord. Overall, we’re just a group of people playing ARK and having fun, against both players and dinos. We currently only have The Island, but we plan on adding or switching to newer maps in the future. 19. Make it possible to upload tames from certain player worlds to official servers. I know it sounds ridiculous but hear me out. This would make player worlds more worthwhile (better player retention and completion). It would give players more of a reason to populate official servers.(since that can help themselves with what they did in their own world) it allows players to engage in PvP without losing everything(the main detractor of PvP) Makes PvP have a bunch more "big dino fights" Some caveats: This player world would only ever be 'the island' or some small map with no real narrative and maybe small enough for no player tethering. The gather and tame rates would be the official rates. And very few of the roster of dinos would be available in this world. no wyverns, no dlc dinos, no mammoths or mantis or whatever wildcard chooses. And the max wild tame levels would be reduced. Those tames would only be available if you created a new character in a PvP or official server and upload those tames back to your single player world. Maybe you can disable mating for those dinos in the player world, idk. (also, maybe make players no longer able to transfer their character to other clusters? only tames. a fresh start of each new narrative but you can help yourself with tames) Ideally, I think there would be a level cap on wild dinos in the players world. forcing them to create a new player on official servers for better/new dinos that they can then upload back to their player world. This would make the game so much more about "dino collection" where I think it shines. Imagine having a staging base in Gen 2 to never run out of maewings. Pumping your dinos in the server to keep the base so that you can continue to tame and collect maewings that you send to other maps. For this reason, I think player transferring should be taken out, it would make choosing your first official map to expand to much more strategic. When you beat all the bosses on a map it gives access to those map specific engrams to every newly created survivor on each map. It also allows newer player to establish a foothold in PvP official servers since there arent massive clans transferring across the cluster nuking new bases. There is plenty of play-room with this: a level cap on wild dinos in the player's world. (Forces you to play in official servers if you want to get higher level tames) a level requirement for certain dinos (give yourself Parasaur at level 30 on official/give yourself a rex at level 100) a cap on the amount of dinos you can give yourself in official every week/month. I'm sure you can monetize that. Assign a value to certain dinos/its level, and make a "foreign tames value cap" on each official server. maybe you can spend "hexagons" for more "foreign dino slots" or more "max value". (hexagons that you get from beating bosses in official or doing missions in official) There are a million ways to play around. I feel like it would make the game less nerve wracking. Open more opportunities for more missions/more reason to do bosses. Everyone would have the same start. There would be a place for builder types. Everyone would have access to PvP. It might even open a large market for selling high level/specially bred tames. It opens the game up for way more game modes by making the dino collection process more engaging and concrete. Pretty much, think of this 'player world' as a town builder mobile game. Except its 1st person and ark. You run around and build stuff for your friends to maybe see and tame cool animals and fight dinos. But you know to really get the cool tames, do missions, fight bosses, and start getting "hexagons" for skins/unique dinos/more value cap, you need to make a base in official. there are a million ways to take it. There could be no more player character transfers across clusters. It could be a new narrative for every map. Only able to send yourself tames. More gamemodes could be added as ark would be focused a lot more of dino/tame collection rather than everything being about survival. I mean the dinos are already pretty much pokemon, maybe make bosses separate events from official PvP servers? or make all official servers PvP? idk but above is the general idea. Please consider.

  22. I'm down for PvP or PvE. I have a lvl 72 character on an official Abberation server but I've been going solo. Pls lmk if your tribe is recruiting
  23. I have over 20k hours in ARK, 99% from official pvp servers, starting from a few weeks after the games release. These are the things I would recommend fixing to make ARK: Ascended the best game possible. These are mainly regarding Official Smalltribes Servers. 1. Removing Broken Maps I suggest keeping maps like Genesis 2 strictly PVE/Single player, removing it from smalltribes, or removing a lot of the broken items/dinos. Alot of these issues dont affect main official servers as much as small tribes. 6 man was completely ruined by the addition of this map. GENESIS 2/Fjord: -THE MAP: Genesis 1 on steroids. Missions are WAYYYY too easy. It takes 3 minutes to do a velo hunt mission, and it gives you more points than any genesis one mission. People began turreting off entire areas so that the mission would be automated, giving them infinite points. Element is also too easy on this map. - Stryder: makes farming too easy. You can right click on ab and get infinite metal. You can put stryders in the small genesis 1 lunar cave, and spawn on them every hour, right click and get 2-4k element in 2 minutes. They are too easy to tame for how OP they are. They completely ruined the grind aspect of PVP. People run around with 4 capped suits, capped rifles, etc, because they have infinite resources. TLDR: ruined the grinding aspect of ark, makes gathering resources too easy, too easy to obtain one - Shadowmane: They are easy to tame, fast to raise, every single one has a good saddle, without having to craft it. Their hp scales too high, along with their damage reduction mechanic, they are impossible to kill. Along with them being the most mobile non flier in the game. They can dismount with 0 skill and 0 counter. Before shadowmanes tactics like snow owl would be used. The snow owl rider had to hit behind the giga to dismount, and could only freeze a few at a time. You could plant Z the owl then kill it, spread out, etc. TLDR: Has too much hp, mobility, utility, no counter, unkillable - Astrodelphis: Too fast, does too much damage, glitchy so its hard to dismount, needs to use WAY more element when using its saddle for boosting speed, or shooting. - Tek Bow: Does way too much damage, doesnt use enough shards. Tek bows made gigas almost completely irrelevant. When you pop a giga, it gets shot by 2 capped tek bows and dies in 20 seconds. They also added to the cancer cage culture with the tranq arrows. This item is a big reason why Gen2 ruined pvp. - Voidwyrm: Has insane health, and like the shadowmane, a no skill point and click dismount, that doesnt affect your tribemates. People go around with 100k hp voidwyrms dismounting people, while their tribemate sits on a 2k melee lightning and oneshots them once they're dismounted. Big reason why rag pvp was ruined. - Fed suits: They cannot break........ There is no point to wear normal tek, unless you are suit pvping, you can get an infinite amount of fed suits just by spawning. they makes tek suits completely irrelevant. They have bad armor values, but when people have 800 hp, it doesnt matter. - Noglins: Again added to the cancer caging meta, too easy to tame. They have alot of counters, but they are a horrible addition to small tribes. - Desmo: outside of valguero, flying should not be allowed in caves. Desmos are so fast, that turrets hardly register them. You can swoop onto someones fortnite, pick them, and drop them into your turrets without taking any damage because youre so fast. - Fjordhawk: When you die, and youre tribemate cant get your body, you should lose your gear. This is a VERY pve tame. Half the times it doesnt even work, it just deletes to antimesh, then no one gets the kit. - Defence Units: This is an extinction "tame" but it added to the automated farming problem plaguing ark. You can craft these very cheap, and harvest them for WAY more than you used to craft. People would kill thousands to farm electronics and oil. No one uses these in PVP besides to farm. - Meat plants: Removes the complexity of raising and feeding dinos, you throw a dino out, take 10 seconds to hit a plant, fill maewing, thats it. You dont have to leave your base to raise a dino. Id like to add, I think a lot of good things cames from gen2 like, Maewings, net guns, tek crop plots, exo meks, mannequins, etc, that should still be in the game, adding spawns to island or every map for maewings, and making the items base game engrams, like cryopods, not map locked ones. 2. Revamping maps A lot of maps dont have good locations for the present ark meta. Caves are pretty much the only thing built, for good reason. Modded servers like MTS revamp locations to fit the current meta. They have added dozens of caves in spots where bases could never be built today. I would suggest doing the same. Adding a ton of good/medium tier caves, so that people have more places to build that wont get instantly raided. 3. Removing/Revamping EVO events At the very least, remove breeding boost from evo events. Breeding should never be included in an evo event, raising times should be set in stone, excluding holiday events perhaps. Making dinos too easy to raise removes the attachment and value of them. If evo events stay, they should only boost EXP gain, taming, and maybe gathering. Gathering should only be kept in if it doesnt effect the amount of element you get from genesis 1 and extinction element veins. Currently people abuse evo events to get insane amount of element from genesis one ele runs, and element veins. I will make another point about revamping element later. 4. Revamping Element Element is one of, if not the most important material in ARK PVP. Currently there are 3 maps where element is too easy, Gen1, Gen2, and extinction. As mentioned, these maps wouldnt be as broken for element if EVO events didnt exist. Getting 1k-1.5k from a 50k element vein is balanced, and the same from a gen1 ele run. With evo events you get 2x-3x that amount which is far too much. Element gachas should be completely removed. People create scripts that run element gachas 24/7, removing the need to do boss fights on other maps. Again, making things too easy to get decreases its value and attachment. Prior to gacha scripts, you had to prep bossfights, or run element veins for dust before you fobbed. You had to use the little element you had sparingly during a fob. Now people can transfer over infinite element, removing another layer of complexity to PVP. 5. Removing automated farming This ties into the element point. People clone thousands of karkinos, ovis, and craft thousands of defence units to automate farming, polymer, chitin, hide, pelt, electronics, and oil. With a melee character, you can harvest tens of thounsands of hide from an ovis, and harvest a ton of electronics and oil from defence units. People dont do poly ruins, they clone karkis and harvest them with a moschops for 5k polymer per. I'd suggest ovis dropping a normal amount of hide, like every other dino, or not dropping hide at all, and only pelt. Possibly make it so moschops cant harvest poly from karkis. Defence units addressed above. 6. Conclusion This is all from a small tribes PVP point of view. Ark is not meant to be an easy game, I've put over 20k hours into it, and grinding is one the reasons this game was so fun. Putting the time in to make gear, raise dinos, mutation breed etc. Almost every aspect was enjoyable, yet grindy. Doing metal runs on Ab with a skiff/magmasaur or and karki/anky. Setting up a cliff plat and spending hours doing poly runs on crystal isles. Taking an angler to crystal isle bubbles for black pearls, doing an element vein to make dust. Doing missions for hours on end for spark/ charcoal so you could make your c4. Killing things in lunar for electronics. Spending those first 10 hours keeping a close eye on your babies, doing meat runs and berry runs. These were all ruined by the things listed above, the game is simply too easy now. People played ark PVP because it was the most complex, grindy, progessive, yet insanely fun game out there. Every point I made led to the same conclusion, the game has lost its complexity, to a point where 90% of people dont enjoy it anymore. If ark ascended doesnt address a majority of these problems, i fear for its longevity.
