The comfort of your base everywhere ! Advanced survivors need advanced dinos, get yourself a living hydro power plant : the Aquilarhinus. Main paleoarts : ICRA Art Additional "art" : little old me NEVER RUN OUT OF ENERGY On an archipelago like The Center, water is everywhere. Even on land ! It's an underrated resource in itself, found not just in the ocean but also in its many jungles, large swamps, and glorious waterfalls. Take advantage of the setting of the map, and turn water into a renewable source of energy for your base, your camp, your trap or your FOB ! Look below for a breakdown of its abilities ! The Aquilarhinus is the one of the few large creatures spawning on beaches. It stays where the water is ! It favors warmer climates but can be found occasionally on the beaches of colder areas. With the Aquilarhinus, you don't live where your generator is : the generator lives with you. Access to water is, ideally, natural sources of water (ocean, lake, river, etc.), which will be sustainable as long as the Aquilarhinus is kept safe. But ! It can also be filled water containers in its inventory, though that will require constant monitoring. The engram for its saddle is unlocked late in the game, because otherwise, a wireless gasoline generator would be way too OP ! The Aquilarhinus' main attack depends on whether its saddle is "switched on" : The Aquilarhinus comes with a personality quirk : it behaves differently depending on the night/day cycle ! The taming methods for the Aquilarhinus are not very complicated, but there are two of them and they yield different results. Like the Chalicotherium's, the passive tame of the Aquilarhinus can never be ruined. We have enough problems as it is. Lastly, the Aquilarhinus has a gathering ability that lets it dig the soil on any map, and find mushrooms there ! The foraging ability is slightly less convenient than harvesting, because you can do it anywhere, even if no mushrooms assets are around. But it guarantees access to mushrooms wherever you are, and even some chance of finding chitin. This will be useful in case the remaster doesn't bring DLC resources to The Center. And, well, people transfer maps, anyway. Why you should vote for the Aquilarhinus - Hadrosaurs are cool ! And ASA could use more creatures that are not badass killers, for a change. This is my contribution to that effort - Day/night behavior and TWO taming methods, for more immersive gameplay - Use water access and/or water containers for a brand new purpose - Find mushrooms and small amounts of chitin by foraging anywhere - New electricity-based attack : the electrical pushback ! - The mobile generator expands nomadic gameplay and/or raids PS : having two different ideas for The Center, a map I like very much but in dire need of a TLC, I decided to submit two creatures this time. I thought it'd be fun to be in a competition with myself, see what people respond to. Please also check out the Sinopterus 🥰

PROTOSTEGA - IS A NEW BEAUTIFUL AQUATIC DAEODON

WILD Protostega is one of the most interesting and mysterious animals of hostile Aberration. These turtles inhabit the entire water area of the Bio-Luminescent Chamber, spending most of their day hunting cnidarias. They will not attack the survivors unless they themselves are not touched. The speed of the protostega is quite high in the water but very slow on land, so the fight with it is not difficult. Hunting for protostega is necessary only for the extraction of a unique resource - a shell fragment, and so this turtle does not represent any nutritional value THE METHOD OF TAMING Prostostegs have poor eyesight and in the wild they mostly rely on light coming from the creatures themselves or the environment. That's why, survivor, you need to prepare the setting for a candlelit dinner. Be sure not to forget to cook a Blue Kambucha - the only treat for this turtle, which consists of Biotoxin, Rare Flowers, Aquatic and Ascerbic Mushrooms (made in Cooking Pot). Despite the fact that this drink is toxic to survivors and causes an effect comparable to the spores of poisonous flowers - protostegs love it and willingly take it directly from their hands DOMESTICATED These turtles have a pretty decent supply of health, which gives them an advantage during combat. Protostegs are also a real danger for alien karkinos, get it for yourself and you will get a supply of Organic Polymer for life. And if your dinosaurs are tired of fighting and they need recharging, then protostega can be an excellent replacement for daeodon - the main thing is not to forget to make enough Blue Kambucha. BREEDING Breeding these turtles is not easy. Since these are residents of one of the most inaccessible regions, they mate only at low temperatures around -30 °. Then the procedure is standard - you just need to hatch an egg and monitor the fulfillment of their desires- 4 replies

Platybelodon – The living netgun Diet : Herbivore Platybelodon is an ancient proboscidean who lived during the middle Miocene and is related to elephants. His particularity ? Well, his inferior jaw is flat and look like a shovel. I would imagine this creature to live in group of 3 that would live in the swamps of abberation. With his size similar to a Morelatops. This creature could be a early/middle game taming (saddle lvl 30 idk) we already had end game taming so why not. The taming method can be centered around mushrooms, I have 2 ideas about it but i’m not sure which one to use. 1st idea : you would need to wake him up from his nap and travel with him to find some mushrooms (the toxic ones being his favorite) 2nd idea : It would have to do with the effect of the mushrooms, you would have to be in hallucinations to began taming it with other mushrooms. I’m still looking for other ideas for his taming. Despite being not that good in a fight, Platybelodon can have a lot of utility Utility 1 : Immunity to poison (mushrooms/basilisk) His thick skin make it immune to any type of poison. He can travel mushrooms (red/blue) and doesn’t take damage from basilisk poison. Utility 2 : Mushroom’s collector Once tamed, Platybelodon can harvest mushrooms like no other creature on abberation. Utility 3 : Living netgun With his large shovel as mouth, Platybelodon can dig out a big mass of dirt and mud. Platybelodon could have the capacity to throw that amalgam at opponent, that would directly get it stuck in mud (similar to netgun and Chalico). Of course, you wouldn’t be able to immobilize creature bigger than a Carno (or even rock drake) At level 45, you could also unlock a new type of saddle with storage where you can keep stone. The particularity is that if you collect enough stone, the Platybelodon could dig out dirt but with some sort of stone in it that could be use as boulder when thrown by the elephant. I know this maybe not the best creature to add in ARK but i really think it would be a great addition to the game. Something strange for a strange map😜 I’m open to any comment 😊

Introducing Formicium Acronum, The Giant Fungal Ant!
DonutsGhost posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Common name: Big Heads Species name: Formicium Acronum Time: Unknown Diet: Omnivorous Temperament: Aggressive Wild: The concept of Formicium Acronum is quite terrifying. It wields massive mandibles perfectly designed for shredding into unsuspecting prey. They’ve shown to have a special taste for the flesh of mammals, and with its climbing capabilities… You should be careful not to get too close. Tamed: Once tamed, Formicium Acronum proves to be an incredibly versatile mount. The Big Heads strength is unmatched. Although it may sound surprising, it's frequently used in farming! Its ability to pick up and move large dinosaurs makes it an invaluable herder. Although it is most commonly used in agriculture, do not mistake it for a coward. Its attacks are hasteful and relentless and when in a pack they quickly become overwhelming to even the strongest of beasts if not disposed of quickly, and their armor makes that all the more difficult. Taming: Taming a is quite freaky. The player must kill all but one of the giant ants in a pack and then passively feed the last remaining giant ant Rare Mushrooms. Once the ant is fully tamed it will have been fully taken over by the mushrooms and it will follow your commands. Behavior: In the wild, Formicium Acronum can be found in groups killing things in the Fertile region of the map. Attacks: The primary attack is a fast bite attack. Secondary attack is a “shred” attack. While holding the button which is assigned to the secondary attack the Big Heads movement speed is slowed and it deals a continuous flow of damage to those it makes contact with. This shred attack also deals an armor piercing effect where the more the target is hit by the shred attack the more the target's armor is neutralized (similar to amargasaurus’s armor piercing spike). The third attack is a grab. This grab can pick players off of mounts and pick up dinos up to the weight class of Direbears. The Big Head can damage the picked up creature using the primary or secondary attack mentioned above. The fourth attack would be a projectile attack. The ant shoots a blob of goo from its gaster (behind) which will act as a tracking beacon. Whatever the goo hits its exact coordinates will be shown on screen to the player for 5 minutes or until the player places a new tracking beacon, or the dino/survivor is uploaded/cryopodded. Abilities: Insects Vengeance: After successfully killing a mammal, including survivors, Big heads receive a melee damage increase for a period of time. Harvesting: Big heads would be very good at harvesting resources such as clay, sand, mushrooms and fungal wood. They also have a pack bonus.
