  1. **Dossier:** Name: Rhaphorhynchus Species: Aerial Glider Diet: The Rhaphorhynchus is a carnivorous creature Intro: In the skies above the diverse and Element-infested landscapes of ARK Extinction, the Rhaphorhynchus gracefully soars with unmatched speeds, a remarkable and nimble aerial glider that fills the role of a flying messenger and scout. With its distinctive appearance and unique gliding abilities, it stands out even among the exotic creatures that inhabit this post-apocalyptic world. Source: https://nixillustration.com/tag/rhamphorhynchus/ Appearance: The Rhaphorhynchus is a moderately sized gliding reptile, typically reaching a wingspan of around 6 to 8 feet. Its body is compact, designed for aerial agility, with long wings and a slender tail. The wings are equipped with elongated fingers that support a membrane, enabling it to glide effortlessly. Its beak is lined with sharp teeth, indicating its carnivorous nature, and its agile legs are equipped with curved talons. The creature's size has been adjusted to allow survivors to ride it, making it an ideal companion in the challenging environments of ARK Extinction. Source: https://blog.everythingdinosaur.com/blog/_archives/2010/10/11/4656983.html Habitat and Behavior: This aerial glider is often found high above the diverse landscapes of ARK Extinction, utilizing the air currents to conserve energy during long flights. It is a solitary creature, usually encountered alone or in pairs. Rhaphorhynchus is known for its keen senses and remarkable agility in the air. Altough the ramphorhynchus has unmatched speed and agility its one of the weakest in combat it feasts on small creatures and likes to avoid confrontation but will fight if provoked. Abilities: 1. **Aerial Glide:** Rhaphorhynchus is an exceptional glider, capable of riding air currents in the Element-infested wastelands of Extinction. This ability allows it to cover vast distances efficiently while conserving energy. Additionally, its improved wing design enables it to reach higher altitudes, giving it the advantage of acquiring an even better vantage point to navigate the challenging terrain. 2. **Dive Attack:** When threatened or hunting, Rhaphorhynchus can perform swift dive attacks. It uses its sharp beak and talons to strike at prey or deter potential threats. Survivors who encounter this creature should beware its aerial assault, adapted to the challenging environment. 3. **Sonic Scream:** Rhaphorhynchus has developed a unique defense mechanism to survive in the Element-infested wastelands. When threatened, it can emit a powerful sonic scream, disorienting and stunning nearby Element-infused creatures. This ability serves as a last resort to deter attackers in Extinction's harsh landscape. 4. **High-Altitude Observer:** Rhaphorhynchus can send out a unique "ping" or echo from its location, a form of aerial echolocation. This allows it to detect movement and pinpoint threats or valuable resources within its field of perception. The information is relayed to the rider or nearby tribe members, providing valuable insights for survival in the ever-changing, Element-infested world. This ability also allows it to stay aloft with ease. 5. **Versatile Climbing:** Rhaphorhynchus possesses the ability to climb and access high ground from virtually anywhere in ARK Extinction's diverse biomes, whether it's cliffs, trees, or even the ground itself. This exceptional climbing skill enhances its survival in the wild, where terrain is as unpredictable as the Element itself. 6. **Wind Current Manipulation:** Rhaphorhynchus has the unique ability to sense nearby air currents and manipulate them to its advantage. This sensory adaptation allows it to stay aloft for extended periods without expending much energy. Survivors who ride this creature can utilize this ability to identify and harness favorable wind currents for longer glides in Extinction's challenging conditions. Rhaphorhynchus can also use its wind current manipulation to maintain altitude and extend its glide duration, making it faster than any other flyer in Extinction. 7. Elemental Zephyr: Rhaphorhynchus taps into the Element-infused air currents unique to ARK Extinction. However, this ability comes with a trade-off. Initiating the Elemental Zephyr requires the creature to channel energy, which takes time to charge up. During this charging phase, the Rhaphorhynchus becomes more vulnerable to attacks and cannot perform other actions. Once activated, the Elemental Zephyr grants the Rhaphorhynchus an extraordinary burst of speed and agility, allowing it to maneuver through the most challenging aerial obstacles with grace and precision. This ability allows the creature to move in any direction, granting unparalleled control over its flight path. Furthermore, while the Elemental Zephyr is active, all nearby Rhaphorhynchus companions can utilize the wind tunnel it generates. This tunnel remains open for approximately 30 seconds before the entrance closes, enabling other Rhaphorhynchus creatures to access it. This wind tunnel can be used in any direction up down left right so you can use it to get up high or as a trap for other rhaps to either get far away from you or to lose its hight However, it’s important to note that maintaining the Elemental Zephyr consumes a significant amount of stamina. Therefore, survivors should use it strategically. The duration of sustained flight with the Elemental Zephyr ability is limited, lasting approximately 2 minutes before the Rhaphorhynchus needs to rest and recharge. Source: https://a-dinosaur-a-day.com/post/158403141640/rhamphorhynchus-longicaudus-r-muensteri-r/amp Source: Taming: Taming the Rhaphorhynchus remains a challenging task due to its aerial prowess and solitary nature. Survivors interested in befriending this creature must utilize their own gliding equipment, such as a wingsuit or glider suit, to approach it in the skies within ARK Extinction's distinct biomes. To gain its trust, survivors should offer it a selection of prime meat or fish, dropped from their aerial position. Patience is crucial, as it may take several offerings before the Rhaphorhynchus becomes accepting of the survivor's presence. Once the creature decides to ally with a survivor, it can be ridden as an agile glider. Its ability to soar through the air currents, manipulate them to its advantage, and climb with ease to high ground provides survivors with a significant advantage in traversing the expansive and treacherous landscapes of ARK Extinction. **Spawn Biome:** The Rhaphorhynchus can be found in all biomes of ARK Extinction except for the wasteland, where the harsh conditions make it an unsuitable habitat. 2. English: (Sadly i not have draw of it, but imagine big vulture like real one, with some spike, and the blue "element friendly" corruption like other extinction creature) Cryptogyps lacertosus the cheater death Common name: Crypto Species: Cryptogyps lacertosus (hidden vulture and powerful) Time : Pleistocene Diet: carrion feeder Temperament : opportunist Preferred Food: Golden hesperornis egg Inventory Power: Cryptogyps can store Golden Hesperornis Eggs for a very long time to prevent them from rotting, in addition it can turn 25 Spoiled Meat into Raw Meat and 400 Raw Meat into Prime Meat. Power cheats death: Cryptogyps if his life reaches zero will have immunity to the next damage, if he keeps his immunity or he does not receive damage after losing it for 2 minutes, he will regain 2000 hp and live (or else 20% to see so it's not too cheating) Bird breeder : Cryptogyps can make baby vulture, featherlight, ichthyornis and hesperornis making these creatures obtainable in new ways and in non-canon locations. They will have like normal parents the random stats of the mother or the father however they will not be able to reproduce with their parent (logical it is not the same species) and will act like their natural counterpart Taming Method: Passive To start the taming I know it's contradictory but you have to kill the Cryptogyps then you have to make sure you lock it in a safe place but not too small or else it will refuse the next step, to start you have to do a bait, to do this you must put a taxidermy with a corresponding trophy equip, the bigger it is (so alpha and apex predator) the better the taming will be after the fight, you can put basilisk alpha, karkinos alpha, giga, etc, he will be attracted and you can lock him up to kill him, then once his power cheats death is active you must catch him, either by a metal bolas or by a megalosaurus (be careful, this removes his immunity) once you catch him you must wait 2 minutes (the time he regens, then you can release him wait without attacking him for him to approach you and once ready enough give him a caress, then depending on Cryptogyps's reaction you must react, if Cryptogyps attacks you weaken him to show who dominates, if Cryptogyps is imposing and opens his wings give him a golden egg of hesperornis, then repeat a caress and fight back if he attacks attack, if he imposes feed him, be careful, it will not lose effectiveness if you are the one attacking it, but if it is another creature (wild or tamer) this could affect its effectiveness. Cryptogyps also accepts golden mushrooms, basilisk egg, element ores and element as an alternative if there is no golden egg but will be less effective and therefore more likely to have to fight. Maps transfer or and spawn : Aberation, Extinction, the Center, Crystal isle, lost island, Genesis 1, genesis 2 Breedable : Yes (80% of baby will be torgos arcam, featherlight, hesperornis or ichthyornis) Saddle: Tribal Crypto armor unlock at lvl 68 (argentavis I think) add 65 armor need to craft : golden egg, fiber, hide, sarco skin, Rex Helmet Skin Saddle tek : Tek Crypto armor unlock at Dinopithecus king, crystal wyvern queen (make these boss cool to make because many only make island scorched boss and Rockwell) or the best a special boss for him because the center not have special boss)can swap mode : Add 120 armor, can use element for reflect projectile and dmg, Swap armor to dmg so normal make 120% dmg, can use element to make element charged attack, when crypto bite or lacerated make more dmg and have 25% chance to make bleed Swap armor to life, heal regen to 120 per second when use element and spoiled meat, transform with time into Mummy element after 24 hours if crypto possess in inventory many element, spoiled meat and golden egg (beware of spoil meat become meat) Mommy element is lvl of Cryptogyps who craft it, mommy element can be put in inventory of death bodies to resurrect it, but function only for tame was below or same lvl of Cryptogyps, if try on more lvl dino it resurrect but lost lvl to correspond to crypto lvl, when death body eat mommy element it transform into mommy before become alive. Mommy element can be use on wild but don’t tame them, so you do tame them by normal way. Immobilized by: Chain bolas, megalosaurus (it take it on neck), thylacoleo Immune by : Net, blood, radiation Wild : Have you ever seen a mummy movie? Well I think Cryptogyps could correspond, he has an immense power over death, able to protect himself from damage incurred or to kill before being killed, he can even literally mummify to protect himself. Unlike its counterpart Torgos Arcam, it is very tall, really very tall, it is easily the size of a argentavis on the arch, at the start when I crossed it for the first time I would have thought to see one, in sum Crypto at a pace that could be mistaken for an eagle, let's say that it is especially his long neck that betrays him, moreover, I saw him once one of them being taken by a megalosaurus that he had inadvertently just woken up, and he got caught, not something you would commonly see on other specimens of his size. Tamed: When I see some of these abilities, including the one on the element, it scares me horribly, could he be one of Rockwell's minions? He is able to corrupt the element in his own way, giving his resurrection power to creatures that come into contact with the mummified element. I've seen some of the best inventors in the Federation and URE build tek armor for this creature, allowing it to amplify its already existing powers or force it to corrupt the element, this armor doesn't do I find only worsen the threat that crypto can cause. Having a tamed Cryptogyps lacertosus can however be useful for travel, you can ride on its back as a flying mount, but you can also travel in caves with it, if the air pressure of a cave prevents it from flying, it can be clinging to your spine, being like Torgos Arcam quite light, and serving as a glider, it can hover in the air, but it can also move and therefore hover and make three leaps in the air before being forced to to land. He is not worth a draconis obscurum for traveling but he is rather useful for those who are not fortunate enough to have this mount, moreover, perhaps because he knows the element well enough to corrupt it, he does not is unaffected by radiation and elemental water, allowing survivors to travel through this hostile area well accompanied or to caves in other arks to hunt for artifacts.
  3. Gigatitan In real life gigatitan is an extinct titanopteran insect from triassic kyrgystan. It had a wingspan of up to 40 centimeters and was unable to fly, but it could glide. In ark It will be found hanging on the sides of high cliffs waiting for unsuspecting flyers to pass. When it spots one it will lift off and glide towards it grabbing it and attempting to crush its wings. This depends on the weight stat of both creatures if the weight stat is very low gigatitan will instantly crush the wings and the flyer will have to glide to the ground and will not be able to lift off where gigatitan will come to claim its prize. After it is done it will simply climb back up a cliff and wait for its next meal. However if the weight stat is similar there will be a struggle where both parties involved are able to pull each other into different directions. If the weight stat is way highter than gigatitans it will eventually have to let go. It will look like a giant locust with spikes on its legs for grabbing. Abilities wing crushing gigatitan will lock onto the wings of a flying creature glider or onto a managarmer and attempt to crush its wings. If this succeeds the target will be forced to make an emergency landing and wont be able to get back into the air for several minutes. Wing flap every 10 seconds gigatitan can flap its wings to gain a little speed and altitude. Wing flash it will reflect the sun with its wings and this works like a flashbang to anything looking into that direction. Taming gigatitan probably burrowed its eggs into plants so to get one you will have to cut down trees until you find a gigatitan larvae you will then have to feed the larvae living animals until it is big. But similarly to a reaper baby they will attack you. Also don’t forget about their protective mothers that hang on the nearby buildings. You can pick these larvae up but they will attempt to struggle by throwing spit in your face to blind you and will also knock you off direction.
  4. General Abilities in the hot weather this creature is more agile however in cold weather it is less agile. this creature also has a super jump ability then once airborne is capable of gliding similarly to the meawing. this creature can climb on almost any surface. this creature is also immune to debuffs. Variant Abilities the females are generally larger as well as being able to shoot a poisonous gas that can knock out survivors and creatures they can also produce egg sacks that can infect enemy troughs rotting all food inside said troughs. The males are capable to shoot a gas like dieses that can infect both players and tames giving them a advanced form of swamp fever that also drains oxygen for a short amount of time as well as blur vision Eating habits this creature eats almost anything it will especially hunt any element infused creature weather robotic, Tek, or even corrupted. it will attack anything element and do 3 times damage. Locations These terrible creatures can be found scattered in the outskirts of the waste land. Taming you must first hunt down a female then kill it the baby will then bolt so be ready to catch it once caught and imprinted it will be a very useful tame for travel and sieging so good luck fellow survivors Special thanks to Lamp Meow Bee Car and the rest on the ark discord for helping me with this creature idea. 😃 Creature by PlanetEarth208
  5. --Name Update-- I've been made aware that the Thoracopteridae is actually the name of the family and not a genus itself so a more proper name for it would be the Thoracopterus! hope this change doesn't confuse many people, Thank you Beelzebufo522 for the correction^ Something Ark has needed for a long time is some new creatures to make the ocean more diverse and exciting so i'm here to present the Thoracopterus, Known Commonly as the Flying Fish it is the new fastest Swimmer/Gliding Tame. Able to use its powerful tail to launch out of the water and glide long distances, even challenging the maewing with its gliding/swimming capabilities!! ---Abilities--- Launch and Glide: Gain speed to launch out of the water, the more speed you have the higher into the air you will go. Similar to a maewing you will then hold a button to glide and control the angle and speed at which you fly at. To descend there's a couple of options: a speedy dive that when done into deep water it will be a quick way to reach the ocean's depths or a parachute-like ability for a more slow and controlled descent. Or simply glide until you reach the water again. Speed boost/Charge attack: Whilst in water it is able to do a charged up attack which will propel itself forward at great speeds, you can use this a simple speed boost to move faster whilst in water or if you hit an enemy its wings will slice whatever it goes through dealing bleed damage to the target. Spin attack: If ever cornered it can do a spin attack with its fins that deals knockback and a slight bleed. Just enough to give it the time to zoom away from danger. Invisibility!: Its iridescent scales are great at reflecting the ocean around them, so whilst in water they are able to turn themselves and their rider ‘invisible’ similar to how a Desmodus can vanish into the night. Making it easier to avoid those annoying Stuns and scary alphas! This of course drains stamina quicker just like any over camo/invis abilities. On Land: What happens if you land it on land? No threat, tho it is a fish if you do happen to get it stuck on land you do have time to get it back into the water with either using cryo pod or its slither/flopping movement similar to ARK Additions Xiphactinus to shuffle its way back into the water (this idea could be expanded upon 1 idea being it lasts longer on land if you keep water in its inventory to prevent it from drying up, this meter will be shown its Oxygen bar. However I feel it's also important to keep this as a water mount so for nothing to drastic that it becomes an all terrain creature) Boats arn't safe: They are very skittish creatures, rarely allowing you to get close before speeding off and are especially afraid of boats! If you do manage to get too close to one with a raft or canoe they may feel threatened enough to damage the vessel before speeding off making them a new threat to those that wish to travel the seas without getting their feet wet. another way they may damage boats if they mistake them for pieces of drift wood or debris of which a mate pair may want to lay its eggs on, to do so they might want to cut the vessel up into smaller less noticeable pieces. ---Unsure of abilities--- Mate pair or pack boost options: pack boost was an idea had very early on as these creatures are found in groups, however I don't think it would work well with the bleeding ambush creature it could be. Mate pair tho could see additional abilities being added maybe a aoe heal ability or something else! Climbing waterfalls: These creatures have been spotted using their strong back fin to launch themselves up waterfalls to make it to migrate to other oceans, it's almost like it's defying the laws of gravity. (this idea is a big stretch as I'm unsure if it would even be possible, but I feel like it would be a helpful idea based on the different water levels on the map) Double Jump: To keep in the air almost like a bird it is able to do a strong flap of its fins to launch it up higher, this is helpful if you ever feel like you are getting too close to land and just need that extra boost to get back into the water. This second jump would only be around half the height of its max jump. ---Taming,Breeding,Anatomy--- Taming method: Taming I originally thought would be similar to an Astrodelphis but in the end a Sino would probably be a better comparison, they will spawn in groups and as long as you have their favourite food ammonite bile in your inventory (if you want it to be extra tough could have it so you must apply the ammonite bile making over creatures nearby aggressive) they will come up to you to be fed, swimming around you and sometimes running away having to chase after them. As long as you don't hurt them or don't scare them with any big tames Breeding: In the wild they would leave their eggs onto seaweed and floating debris near the water's surface.Once tamed however they will be able to breed near the surface of the water as long as there's a structure nearby to attach its eggs to. Anatomy: They have razor sharp barbs on the front edge of its 1st pair of fins, these barbs can cause severe bleeding when used at high speeds and mainly used in the wild as a last resort to escape or when hunting for food. They are sharp enough to cut through thick shells and skin of some of the largest creatures in the depths. The fin at the end of their tail is a lot thicker and stronger than the rest of the fins that it uses to glide with. This tail fin is the entire reason it is able to propel itself into the air, climb waterfall and cause knockback and charged attacks Size: slightly smaller than a megalodon there wings make them seem a lot bigger ---Idea for a Tek Saddle--- -I could imagine the Tek saddle covering the Thoras fins like the Tek Tapagara saddle, the tek blades on the fins would then have deferent settings to deal over effects over than just its normal bleed (Green mode=torpor, Purple mode=Electric stun, Red mode=enhanced Bleed for some ideas) -The strong armour around the head could make it so it can charge mineable materials and collect them. -The saddle could possible improve its gliding ability adding a thruster to just boost itself higher into the air if needed. (but it would not be strong enough to keep the Thora in the air forever just longer than normally would without) This thruster could also be used in water for faster acceleration ---Additional info--- -Can’t be picked by a Tuso as it is speedy enough to evade its tentacles -Slight overall weight reduction to make those water resource trips that much easier WILD Swimming near the surface of deep oceans they are found swimming in schools using their numbers and ability to leaping out of the water to escape larger predators. They are very skittish creatures, rarely allowing you to get close before speeding off and are especially afraid of boats! If you do manage to get too close to one with a raft or canoe they may feel threatened enough to use their ‘spin attack’ to dmg/push away the vessel before speeding off making them a new threat to those that wish to travel the seas without getting their feet wet. ONCE TAMED: Once Tamed they can become your fastest way of travel, being able to manoeuvre quickly around obstacles in the ocean and skip over pieces of land with its glide. Also a great way to bleed and dodge any attacks whilst in the water with its charges it could be the best way to deal with larger predators if you wish to engage in a fight. They are able to be saddled carrying up to 1 player, when not sprinting can hold a weapon such as harpoon or crossbow. Due to hunting Ammonite and being exposed to its bile for such a long time they have evolved to be immune to the aggressive effects of it, they will also protect the rider also making them immune to its effects. This is my 1st time submitting a creature! All art is done by myself and I really hope you like the Thoracopterus!
  6. My Goal Is To Educate People About Aurornis, First let me tell you About Aurornis Xui In Real Life, Aurornis was roughly the size of a modern pheasant, with a length of 50 cm (20 inches). It had clawed wings and a long bony tail. Its leg bones were similar to those of Archaeopteryx, but overall its anatomy was more Primitive Aurornis lived roughly 160 million years ago, roughly 10 million years before Archaeopteryx, which often has been described as the first bird. Wild : Aurornis Xui, Although Seems Cute and Cuddly From Afar,Do not approach It As Its Powerful Beak and Talons Can Shred Even the Toughest Of Creatures! Males Have A Luminescent Tail and Head Feathers, while males have Extra Feathers under its beak. The Females Have A More dull Look While a Shorter Tail And No Head Feathers. Aurornis Are Often Seen Hunting in a Pack of 3, 2 Females and 1 Male, Rarely Even all 3 Of same Gender Or 2 Males and 1 Female. Some Packs Have Been Witnessed To Raise Other Baby Dinos In There nest With there Own Young. Killing A pack Of Aurornis Xui Will benefit you Greatly as it Will drop Feathers Another More Softer and Prettier Alternative To Make Beds and sleeping bags (Beds and Sleeping Bags Crafted from Feathers Have A shorter Respawn Timer and The Beds and sleeping bags crafted from Feathers wil have A Feather Look instead of Typical Hide look), Alternatively Can make a Aurornis GlideSuit, A More Faster and Cooler GlideSuit. Domesticated : Aurornis Xui, While Domesticated Can Benefit you Greatly, It can Jump High While Aurornis Cannot Fly it can Glide While Gliding it Opens Its Tail and Wings Wide and Can Glide Up to Hours Until It Touches the Ground,While Being a Semi-Flying Dinosaur it can Swim Very Well, While Getting Scent of Insects Aurornis will Become Raged and Go on a Killing Spree on Insects Dealing 25% More Damage To Creatures. Aurornis Can be Paired and This Creature While Being A Little Bigger Then an Iguanadon Can Kill Even The Supposed King Of Dinosaurs Tyrannosaurus Rex, With its Talons and Cause Bleeding and Can even Latch On to Creatures Bigger then a Allosaurs and up, While Pouncing Smaller Dinos Down to a Raptor, Smaller then a Raptor It Can grab with Its beak and Few to none can escape Its Grasp. it Can Also Somehow Latch onto Flying Dinosaurs (More specifically Like the Quetzal) i Saw Tribes using this to Try To Bring Down Quetzals, Even Other Tribes Used Aurornis to "Injure Flying Dinosaurs" Making them Forcefully Land or drop to the ground, For Trapping or Easily Killing them. You can Make The Aurornis Make a Nest Big Enough to Hatch The Biggest of Creatures, Enable There Mother Instinct On Female Aurornis And it will Sit on the Eggs until 5% ( Almost Ready To Hatch), It will Keep Screeching Until The baby is Hatched, The Aurornis mother will AutoClaim and If You give her The necessary Things she will Imprint and Also Raise The baby up! Extra Notes : 1. it Can Latch onto Giant Dinosaurs (More specifically Like the Quetzal) Imagine your trying To tame a Quetzal, But only Low lvls Are on map, There are Few Low to mid Tier Dinos that Can Catch up to a quetzal Therefor making it more Useful. 2. The Idea is It can "Injure Flying Dinosaurs" Making them Forcefully Land or drop to the ground, For Taming or Easily Killing them , This DeBuff Could last up to 1min (Similar to the Net from Gen 2). Vote For Aurornis For a New Boss Fighting and Terrain Crossing Birdy Friend, 🐦 (Sorry My female Aurornis Sketch Wont upload, but it was shown as Dossier Says )
  7. English: Cryptogyps lacertosus the cheater death Common name: Crypto Species: Cryptogyps lacertosus (hidden vulture and powerful) Time : Pleistocene Diet: carrion feeder Temperament : opportunist Preferred Food: Golden hesperornis egg Inventory Power: Cryptogyps can store Golden Hesperornis Eggs for a very long time to prevent them from rotting, in addition it can turn 25 Spoiled Meat into Raw Meat and 400 Raw Meat into Prime Meat.
  8. Name:Basiliscus Maximus Common name:Basiliscus Temperament Female:Neutral Temperament Male:Aggressiv Size:ca.10 Meters Wild: Theese big lizards live in groupes off about 10 individuums, wich are guarded by one Alpha Male, wich kills everything it sees (you can see wich one it is because the Males have bigger crests and sails than the females). The females are less aggressive and do only attack if you attack them or their nests, wich are always attacked by various predators. Taming: The only way to tame a Basiliscus is to jump on a female, take a range weapon and get her trust, with helping her defending the nest(killing attackers).Ones she trusts you, she will offer you one egg wich you have to raise and then feed the hatchling. Tamed: This creature CAN be ridden without a saddle butt its defenetly worth it crafting the saddle because it adds three abbilities: night vision helmet minigun (one on each side) Foldable glider, with wich it can glide like a maewing Normal abbilities: Running on water diving very fast without an oxygen stat swimming exelent using its‘s tale as a whip and for picking up creatures up to the size of a stego or allo copy buffs and special abbilities Immitating Buffs/ Special abbilities:, for copying buffs and abbilities you have to immitade the creature until the immitation bar is on 100%.Then youre Basiliscus will get the buff/abbility.Example: when you copy the Sino‘s buff you will get the buff every time your Basiliscus touches water. You can only copy 10 buffs max
  9. Say hello to the Hypuronector! My friend and I have worked hard on this the last couple of days, so please vote for us! Wild: These creatures, about the size of raptors. are usually seen leaping from tree to tree. They eat insects like Meganeura and titanomyrma by waiting in treetops and then ambushing them. They live solitary lives with little to no social interaction between the species. As it is an insectivore, it generally acts docile towards survivors and other smaller dinosaurs. If provoked, they will attack back with a vicious maw and a huge tail whip. They are usually found in dense forests with many trees they can climb and glide. Domesticated: To tame these creatures, one must first give it some chitin to eat. After, lure in bugs and help the Hypuronector kill them. When fully domesticated, they can glide between trees and climb up them. In addition, they also have two special poisons that they can switch between. The first poison slowly drains the health of the creature they bite. The more bugs they eat, the deadlier the poison becomes. The second type of poison is made automatically, and can be used as narcotic. Their tails can be used for steering when gliding and to push other dinosaurs away. Its saddle can hold up to two survivors, and a lot of chitin. The saddle can also be a base for a shield of chitin surrounding the Hypuronector. If the Hypuronector is in an area with a lot of green, they can camouflage and turn invisible. Attacks/Abilities: Tail whip: The Hypuronector uses its tail to hit a creature, dealing some damage and knockback. Poison bite: When the Hypuronector bites a creature, a poison is brought along with it, and it slowly drains the health of the creature for a while. The damage of the poison increases the more bugs he eats. Narcotic poison: A poison that spawns in its inventory. It can be used as a narcotic to make anything normal narcotic makes, such as tranq arrows and tranq darts. Saddle shield: The saddle is surrounded by chitin. This lowers damage and prevents status conditions like bleeding and poison from affecting the Hypuronector. Glide: The Hypuronector can glide, similar to a Maewing, except slower. Climb: The Hypuronector can climb up vertical surfaces that have to be very flat, like trees or walls. Chitin reduction: Chitin weight gets reduced by 75% Camouflage: The Hypuronector can turn invisible with areas with a lot of green, like dense forests.

  12. Irl laophis is an extinct genus of large viper, it existed in Greece during the pliocene period. They got to roughly 3-4m in length and 26kg in weight. For in game purposes the snake would defenetly have to be made much larger (perhaps slightly larger then the current titanoboa) and instead of being spesifically a viper, i imagane it as more of a hybrid between many diffrent species of venomous snakes. This would include things like cobras, rattle snakes, other vipers and most importantly flying snakes. This is more or less the idea behind the creature, taking unique traits from many diffrent modern snake species and combinging them into a single highly mobile, high dmg, all round tame Dossier: "Wild Boasting many features found in all kinds of snakes, laophis is problably one of the most desirable creatures in the ark. It spends most of it's time hiding at the base of large rocks, mountains and such. Waiting for it's preffered prey to walk by. Once it does laophis will launch it's head towards it and deliver a bite full of venom, which takes effect almost immediately. Laophis is capable of delivering leathal doses of venom in a single bite, but it takes time for it to produce such ammounts which makes them almost skittish when confronted by another predator. Suprisingly, instead of using the rattle at the end of it's tail as a warning, it actualy seems to lure certain creatures closer. Presumably due to the fleshy structure on it resembeling food. Still a laophis rearing up and showing off it's cobra like frill is more then enough to deter most smaller threats. Domesticated Perhaps the snake's most suprising feature is it's ability to climb, leap and most shocking of all, glide. A behavior rarley observed in wild laophis, but utilised to it's full potential by survivors. Once on a high perch laophis can launch itself in a certain direction and almost identical to modern flying snakes, it can propel itself a great distance, all whilst carrying a survivor on it's back." The ability to climb and jump would tie in extremly well with gliding. I can imagane laophis climbing up redwood trees and vertical surfaces perhaps similar to a megalania or thyla, while also having a regular and a charged (mainly vertical) jump (for a refrence imagane it jumping as sort of a goofy snake spring coil). The gliding ability is based on flying snakes, in game imagane the snake almost like a thyla pouncing of a tree and then massivly extending the distance travelled by slithering in the air, with the ability to turn mid air to some extent. The lure ability is based on the spider-tailed horned viper, which has an arachnid mimicking structure at the end of it's tail. Since laophis is suposed to lure herbivores and carnivores alike, perhaps a structure resembling a leaf or even a chunk of meat would be more appropriate for it. Abilities: Venom: similar to an amargasaur's spikes, venom is almost like an additional stat that the snake produces on it's own. Venom inducing attacks will use up diffrent ammounts of the avalible venom stat (depending on the attack) which is displayed next to the hotbar (once again like an amarga's spikes). Venom deals damage over time depending on the snake's own melee dmg % (which scales up to a certain %). -(LBM) Primary bite attack: basic bite with no additional effects -(Hold LBM) venom bite: laophis launches at a select target delivering a great ammount of venom. Deals both heavy base and venom dmg, but uses most of the venom stat -(RBM) Stance change: laophis rears up, from this stance it can perform it's ranged abilities: -(LBM in stance) Venom spit, laophis delivers a lesser ammount of venom in a long range cobra-like spit. Uses significatly less venom then venom bite, but deals less damage as well -(C in stance) intimidation: laophis uses it's frill and roars to intimidate smaller threats -(C) rattle lure: laophis uses it's rattle to get any creature not curently hostile closer to it. -Heat vision: identical to the snow owl, can be turned on in a menu similar to desmodus -(Space) jump: a vertical jump that takes laophis high above the ground, can be held down to increase distance. -(Hold space) gliding/climbing: when in the air laophis can intitate a glide, imagane it as a slithering slow fall, exept laophis can travel forward at incredible speeds loosing minimal height, though not being able to gain it either. While also being able to turn mid air. Laophis can climb vertical surfaces similar to a thyla gameplay wise, but in a simialr fashion to how many modern
  13. First of all, welcome to my submission, and let me explain a thing before we proceed. If you came to see the images, scroll down to the bottom, the gallery is there lol. Also another disclaimer, this is NOT a flyer. It's a glider, despite its appearance. The real yi qi couldn't hold sustained flight and neither can this one. Yi qi is the name of this very real creature that existed during the late jurassic period in what today is China, it means "Strange wing" in chinese. However, Yi is the name of the genus and qi is the name of the species, like Tyrannosaurus and rex. So calling it "Yi qi something else" wouldn't make much sense lol. Hence why this arkified version is named Yi xue, meaning "Bloody wing" in chinese. That being said, let's proceed. Sorry if it's a bit messy, I've not had time to put it up too well before the vote, but here's all this bad boy's got running for. The quality of some images is a bit pixelated because of the submission's 400kb max size, which is pretty difficult to adjust to with several images lmao Yi Xue: A large bird-like dinosaur that has bat-like wings and can glide through the caverns with ease, similar to rock drake. A creature that rewards skill, patience and calculation over facetanking, albeit with a bunch of drawbacks to make it a true glass cannon. Its moveset and movement abilities are inspired by the Dark Souls saga and its immersive combat system. It features razor feathers and quills that it shoots at its victims, causing a special kind of bleed. While the bleed does no damage, it’s a mark, signaling how many feathers have carved the flesh of the victim. Then, Yi Xue can trigger the mark, dealing devastating damage. Here's how the Eviscerate attack works portrayed in an image. Don't worry, the Spino will live... probably. This is what happens when you let Yi xue stack too many feathers on you. The creature can maneuver quite well through the caverns and has quite decent gliding, being able to flap its wings to gain momentum. Also, the more melee stat, the more quills it can shoot, and the more stamina, the faster it will create additional feathers, enticing towards levelling your Yi xue for a full-damage oneshot build. Alternatively it can use rock drake feathers if it runs out of feathers to shoot. Be wary when exploring the element chamber though, as Yi Xue is not immune to the effects of radiation. When the bleed mark is triggered, if the target loses more than half its health with the attack, it is feared for 20 seconds and receives full damage from any source for a minute, no matter the armor or natural resistance a creature has. It is also slowed by 30% for that minute, making Yi an absolutely devastating assassination mount, good for small and large targets alike. Additionally, it can perform several mobility abilities, like backward dodges or sidesteps, giving it a brief time of invulnerability, at the cost of its momentum and a great amount of stamina. If the Yi is hit by any sort of melee or creature damage while gliding or soaring, it will fall to the ground and be unable to glide for 10 seconds after it was hit. It can still sidestep and leap backwards, though, so keep in mind it still is very mobile. You can also cause an enemy Yi xue to fall to the ground by using bullets, but it will take quite a few shots to do so. Yi xue is quite fast when gliding, so repeatedly landing shots isn't an easy task. That way, if you're the one using a Yi xue, you're punished for getting too close to danger and not minding your spacing, but you aren't absolutely clowned on if your enemy has a sniper rifle, you still have a chance. Do keep in mind that you can only be knocked out of the air if you're gliding, so taking damage while on the ground doesn't punish you as hard. Think of what fighting position benefits you the most depending on the scenario! Yi can also coat its quills with different substances and poisons, giving it alternative uses. For example, it can coat them with narcotics or biotoxin to use its feathers as an alternative method to using tranquilizers with a crossbow or a rifle. Furthermore, the amount of torpor scales with melee damage, so it’s as effective as high tier crossbows and rifles, not a joke like scorpions or pachys. There’s more things Yi can coat its feathers with; Ascerbic mushroom spores will cause dizziness and hallucinations like the fertile mushroom spore nausea, drowning the target and confusing it. Aquatic mushrooms will slightly slow and decrease the target’s resistance to damage by a slight amount, as well as applying the freezing effect on players Plant species Z fruits will work as usual, blinding and stunning, but also healing allies by a slight amount. Propellant will cause the feathers to be on fire, but these feathers won’t count towards the total feather count of the mark Reaper pheromones will cocoon the target. And will also give them the reaper pheromone buff, because why wouldn’t it? It’s reaper pheromones. Yi Xue also has a TEK saddle. However this one doesn’t go pew pew, it’s slightly different. Yi has enough of an arsenal already, it doesn’t need lasers. What the TEK saddle does is stabilize its dashes and make them even more maneuverable, as well as having an ability that blocks incoming attacks for half a second after activation. A parry ability, to put it bluntly. Let’s say you’re facing someone with a sniper rifle and you’re soaring around. If they hit you and you parry in time, your Yi won’t be stunned and will receive no damage, at the cost of a hefty amount of element. That’ll give you an edge to seek proper terrain to fight instead of glide shooting. Or if you were hit once by a rex or giga, instead of plummeting to the ground to certain death because you missed a dodge, you get to keep gliding and avoid that damage. This ability has a rather long cooldown, 15 seconds, it’s a not-so-indulgent, expensive get out of jail card that requires precise timing and incentives to keep spacing yourself instead of being greedy for damage. Abilities Passive: - (Passive) Yi xue’s mark of blood: A debuff that is applied once you’re hit by a feather from a Yi xue. It doesn’t add or take stats, nor does it do any damage. The amount of stacks lowers over time, wearing off. If the Yi xue attacks you while you have an active mark, the mark is removed and you take damage based on the amount of feather stacks you had. The more feather stacks, the more damage, ramping up massively to extremely dangerous numbers, or being weak as a melee attack. The mark can also be applied from the air while gliding, it isn’t restricted to ground only. - Feather making: Yi xue generates one Yi xue feather every so often, that it can use as a projectile. If your mount runs out of these, you can’t shoot. Increase stamina to make this process faster. The higher the stamina stat, the faster the production! On ground: - Bite: Left click, does 40 damage. It’s got pretty big teeth and a pointy beak. Activates the bleed mark on all targets hit. - Feather shot: Right click, does 10 damage. Adds 1 feather stack to the enemy hit. The rate of fire is increased the higher the melee stat of the Yi xue is. - Ammo type change: G, opens up a wheel displaying the different feather types. Normal, rock drake, tranq feathers (narcotic coated), propellant coated, etc. - Roar/Taunt: Ctrl, aesthetic - Jump: Jump to start gliding - Double tap D or A: Side step. Use this to quickly reposition yourself and get out of harm’s way, gaining a brief moment of invulnerability. Useful for fighting large, bulky creatures like rock drakes or reapers, or to dodge projectiles. - Double tap S: Backwards leap. Use this to quickly reposition yourself and get out of harm’s way, gaining a brief moment of invulnerability, like the sidestep. Gliding works a bit like a mix between maewing and managarmr. Hold shift to glide, but you can’t glide up like a rock drake, and you lose height rather quickly unlike a maewing. Tap space while gliding to flap the yi’s wings and dash in the air towards the facing direction. This costs a huge amount of stamina, but you can gain altitude by doing this. You can cling to walls like a tapejara, quickly regaining stamina. You won’t be stunned if you’re hit while clinging, unlike gliding. You can’t move while clinging to a wall, unlike deinonychus. You also cannot use mounted weaponry while riding a Yi xue, neither on the ground nor while gliding. Yi xue is already enough of a powerhouse, it doesn’t need a rider with an ascendant shotgun on it. Abilities while gliding: - Left click: Bite, same as on the ground, though it’s hard to land this attack while moving fast. Activates the bleed mark on all targets hit. - Hold right click: You enter a shooting stance while strafing in the air, still gliding. Think of it like managarmr when you’re spitting ice, it strafes and slowly glides down, but you can aim. Hold to aim, and now press left click to shoot feathers while strafing. 10 damage like on the ground and adds a stack to the mark. The rate of fire is increased the higher the melee stat of the Yi xue is. - Ammo type change: G, opens up a wheel displaying the different feather types. Normal, rock drake, tranq feathers (narcotic coated), propellant coated, etc. - Double tap D or A: Side air dash. Use this to quickly reposition yourself and get out of harm’s way, gaining a brief moment of invulnerability. Useful for fighting large, bulky creatures like rock drakes or reapers, or to dodge projectiles. Cannot be used while aiming with right click. - Double tap S: Backwards air dash. Use this to quickly reposition yourself and get out of harm’s way, gaining a brief moment of invulnerability, like the side air dash. Cannot be used while aiming with right click. - X: Eviscerate. Yi xue becomes immune to stuns for the duration of this attack. The Yi lunges towards the desired direction, dealing 50 damage and activating the bleed mark on all targets it hits, if there is a bleed mark. While in this attack, even if they shoot you or bite you, you can’t be knocked out of the air! However you can be netted, so be careful, or be prepared for when an enemy Yi performs this attack to completely outplay it. - Ctrl: Roar/Taunt. Base Stats HP: 210, same as Pteranodon Stamina: 250 Oxygen: 150 Food: 1400 Weight: 150 Movement Speed: Faster than Raptor, slightly slower than Gallimimus Melee damage is listed in the abilities section! Taming In order to tame a Yi xue you must first let it pelt you with feathers. If you're doing this on foot, it won't take it long to plunge towards you. Once it dives towards you to activate the mark and deal massive damage to you, shoot a net with a harpoon gun to trap it. Then, passively feed it meat while it's trapped, mutton or kibble. Rinse and repeat. It prefers regular kibble. Yi xues are naturally found in the fertile chamber, as well as the bioluminescent chamber. They can't venture into the element chamber as they aren't immune to radiation damage, like ravagers. And now for the Dossier! Common Name: Yi qi Species: Yi xue Time: Late Jurassic Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild Commonly mistaken for its much smaller cousin, Yi xue is a ravenous beast fitting of its unique environment. Much like Draconis obscurum, Yi xue is able to glide through the caverns with its bat-like wings, although it is incapable of flight. Despite its fame as a murderer of unwary survivors, Yi is a rather fragile creature, barely able to stand against a raptor in a duel. However, its strength comes from its unique behavior and hunting tactics. Instead of diving head on like most beasts do, Yi takes a much more tactical approach, gliding over its victims while raining down razor feathers made of a special keratin. The feathers themselves are mere annoyance, but they carve the victim’s flesh, covering it with light, barely noticeable wounds. When the Yi has covered its victims with enough feather-induced wounds, it strikes fast like a lightning, absolutely decimating its opponent as it’s turned into mincemeat from its now very much open wounds. Domesticated While many will choose a Rock drake over a Yi xue for combat, traveling and utility, those who have trained extensively along these wyvern-like dinosaurs claim they’re the ultimate tactician mount, able to outmaneuver most threats in the caverns while giving even reapers a run for their money in terms of damage. Though one must first master the drawbacks that come with the usage of Yi xue, for there’s a plethora of dangers that can easily turn a Yi and its rider into kibble, like a pack of Ravagers, a Megalosaurus or even radiation. That's it, thank you for sticking around and it'd mean the world to me if you upvoted Yi xue! Thank you for reading it all up to this point, and have fun with the contest! Funny size comparison here. It can be ridden as stated before.
  14. Common Name: Glowlix Species: Corytophanidae Time: Mid-Jurassic Diet: Insectivore Temperament: Aggressiv WILD The Glowlix travel alone at the giant roots of the Luminous Marshlands. They will only attack you if you come really near because they cant see really good . You can also find some Glowlix on the ground searching for their prey . Its not hard to find them because they glow really bright . Domesticated When tamed , the Glowlix will be a strong parthner for your trips in Aberration . They can use their light to protect you from nameless and they can climb , so its not hard to get around . ABILITY The Glowlix has the ability to throw his tale on enemys and bola them for 40 sek. you have to wait 1 min untile his tail grew back. they can climb and deal bleeding damage . TEKSADDLE With his Teksaddle hes able to glide around , shot projectiles , and project a small tek shield in front of his head to block damage , if the shield gets destroyed you will have to wait 3 min to open the shield again TAMING If you want to want to tame that giant lizard you will have to get near him and hopp on his back , you have to be really slow and quiet or else he will attack you . if you hopped on his back the last thing you have to do is pressing key combinations , the key combinationts will pop up on your screen . ----------------------------- I inspiratet myself from the animal (helmet basilisk)
  15. Introduction The Kunpengopterus, or the "Monkeydactylus", will be the prime stealth bomber of Aberration, and a raider's best aerial friend. Using its corrosive Gel bombs and excellent climbing and gliding abilities to its advantage, survivors bold enough to tame this vibrant pterosaur will possess a lethal weapons valet and explorative superiority over the caves and caverns of Aberration. (more pretty pictures are in the comments section) Table of Contents: Artwork and Introduction Dossier Potential Base Stats and Spawn locations Taming Before the Jump Leap of Faith Abilities and Controls Abilities Climbing Gels Mobile Chemistry Bench Other Bombs/Throwables Other Notes Controls Dossier Common Name: "Monkeydactylus" Species: Kunpengopterus Fortisarmis Time: Mid-Jurassic Diet: Insectivore/Piscivore Temperament: Docile until Provoked Wild The towering luminous trees and cavern cliffs on this ark harbor a strange Pterosaur that resembles Kunpengopterus. The colloquially named 'Monkeydactylus' make themselves at home in this subterranean world. Similar to the Pteranodon in size, the Monkeydactylus have large forelimbs equipped with proportionally larger hands and opposable thumbs that come in handy when climbing and eating small animals. I've noticed that due to the lack of any real 'sky', the air here is far thinner, resulting in large creatures such as Monkeydactylus being unable to fly. However, its arms and wings are still strong enough to maneuver the rocky terrain with ease. Interestingly, I've had the privilege to watch some of the more daring tribespeople attempt to lasso and ride Monkeydactylus straight off seering high cliffs to tame them. Domesticated When tamed, the Monkeydactylus becomes a deadly effective weapons valet for the adventurous survivors of this ark. After eating a sufficient amount of food, Monkeydactylus regurgitates basic saliva that it can spit on foes below. Clever tribespeople has crafted saddles that utilize 'Monkeydactylus Gel' to their maximum potential. 'Pure Gel' acts as a severe narcotic that deals catastrophic damage to unaware or unprepared adversaries below. Meanwhile, 'Diluted Gel' has various defensive properties, like resistance to spores and acids. I thought I saw everything until I witnessed a group of Monkeydactylus dive bomb from the cavern walls, turning the land a putrid purple with goo and smoke! Potential Base Stats and Spawning Health: 350 Stamina: 550 Oxygen: 200 Food: 1000 Weight: 320 Melee Damage: See "Abilities and Controls" for base damage values for the differing attacks Torpidity: 1000 Monkeydactylus would spawn within the luminescent Region (blue zone) in groups of 5-6. In the wild, these gregarious groups of pterosaurs would be seen walking or climbing near high cliffs and plateaus across Aberration. With their wildly vibrant color schemes, they would fit right into the lush background of massive mushroom trees and crystalline cliffs. Taming Taming a Monkeydactylus is all about timing and placement. The unique method of lassoing a Monkeydactylus and hunting with them cowboy-style is dangerous, exhilarating, and the prime opportunity to gain a valuable mid-game ally. Before the jump To approach Monkeydactylus to tame them, survivors need to be wearing a full ghillie suit and have a Monkeydactylus lasso (Above) equipped with them as well. A Monkeydactylus lasso can be crafted by killing a Monkeydactylus (one from a different group beforehand) and harvesting the "Monkeydactylus tail". Which when combined with some fiber and thatch, makes for a strong enough lasso to ride a Monkeydactylus (see "Abilities and Controls" for more on the Monkeydactylus Lasso) *If survivors walk towards a group of Monkeydactylus without both or only one item equipped, the Monkeydactylus will stay neutral towards them. However, they will display that they know of your presence, not allowing you to start the taming process. When close enough, survivors need to lasso the Monkeydactylus! This initiates the next phase of taming. Leap of Faith Upon lassoing your target Monkeydactylus, it'll let out an ear-piercing screech as it runs in panic to jump off the nearest cliff! Here, survivors will have 3-4 minutes to catch as many small animals as humanly possible by hunting across the terrain below! Fish and insects are more effective in taming than other small animals since it's their favorite food! Monkeydactylus' favorite prey: Achatina Araneo Arthropluera Coelacanth Dung beetle Meganuera Piranha Sabertooth Salmon Trilobite While hunting during the 3-4 minute period, survivors can utilize the Monkeydactylus' abilities to climb, soar, and skim-feed to tame it. *Skim-feeding is the action of gliding across bodies of water and having the Monkeydactylus open its mouth until it snaps up a fish. A skim-feeding animation would initiate when you attack the surface of the water, and after a couple of seconds, the Monkeydactylus would be seen snatching up fish to add to its taming bar. If survivors fail to gather enough food to befriend the Monkeydactylus or if it takes too much damage, It'll buck you off and begin to attack you! So, be careful when figuring out where and when you want to tame a Monkeydactylus! Abilities and Controls The Monkeydactylus has multiple abilities that allow survivors to maximize both their PvE and PvP potential. *All the following potential abilities and values could be subject to change to whatever WildCard sees as fit and balanced.* Climbing/Gliding Firstly, the Monkeydactylus would join the Rock Drake as the only other climber in ARK Aberration! The Monkeydactylus would be able to climb all surfaces in Aberration, and combined with its great stamina, allows for long ranged exploration into the caverns of the ARK. Whilst they can both climb effectively, the Monkeydactylus is more fragile and maneuverable in the air, having a dive-bomb akin to the Griffin. The ability to climb and glide across far distances perfectly segways into its truly lethal component, the Gel. Gels The primary thing that sets the Monkeydactylus apart from everything in Aberration is its role as a deadly Bomb valet. Over time, a tamed Monkeydactylus passively produces "Pure Monkeydactylus Gel", a corrosive substance that can be used to severely damage unwary survivors and tames. Using bombs and blasts made from the Gel provide a variety of attacks to utilize while gliding. However, when this Pure Gel is chemically diluted with water (cooking it with water), it turns into "Diluted Monkeydactylus Gel", a substance that provides more defensive properties. Pure Gel (Purple Goo) (the Grimace Shake 😮) Monkeydactylus will produce Pure Gel passively over time as long as they have sufficient amounts of food in their inventory. 5 Pure Gel = 1 Jar of Gel Pure Gel and Jars of Gel can be made for different things (see “Other bombs” section for more) Fish meat and Chitin boost Pure Gel production whilst standard meats and other foodstuffs give no boost. The Monkeydactylus' special attack consists of a Pure Gel blast, dealing heavy damage and decent torpor (though not as concentrated as the bomb)(appears as a large, purple ball of saliva that splats on a large radius on the ground). While most creatures use the stamina stat for their attacks, the Monkeydactylus will use up its food stat when it attacks with its Gel. So, it's crucial to keep the Monkeydactylus supplied with its favored food to replenish lost hunger and recharge for more Gel Blasts. Pure Gel can also be crafted into a throwable smoke bomb that deals heavy torpor, decent damage(not as concentrated as the Pure Gel Blast), and induces temporary blindness in a small radius (appears in the form of a purple cloud) Diluted Gel (Teal Goo) Diluted Gel yields various resistances to different hazards survivors face across the ARK. 5 Diluted Gel = 1 Jar of Diluted Gel When Diluted Gel is applied to armor, it provides a perfect counter against the acidic venom of the Arthropleura and other arthropods (it also makes your armor look slick and shiny as a byproduct) All armor types are available to craft with Diluted Gel within the Monkeydactylus' crafting modules (more on that in the "Mobile Chemistry Bench" section) When Diluted Gel is consumed, it grants you extra resistance against Torpor, Spores, Diseases, and some slight health regeneration, at the price of some of your food stat. Mobile Chemistry Bench The Monkeydactylus saddle comes equipped with a mobile chemistry bench along with a few other craftable items: Other Bombs/throwables When combined with different resources, Monkeydactylus Gel can be crafted into different types of items, all having varying effects. Jar of Pure Gel + Basilisk Scales = Poison Grenade Jar of Diluted Gel + Chitin = Regular Antidote (usable on both tames and survivor, heals diseases) Jar of Pure Gel + Narcoberries/ascerabic Mushrooms = Narcotic Bomb (throwable bomb; deals high amounts of torpor, very little damage) Plant Species Z has good synergy with the other throwable bombs Monkeydactylus have, so it's worth equipping them here. Other notes As an overview, a combination of climbing/gliding, the Gels, and the various throwables the chemistry bench provides, the Monkeydactylus is a versatile explorer and fighter that can be deadly to any foe unprepared to fight it. The Monkeydactylus carves out a niche as the prime stealth bomber of Aberration, using the plethora of bombs it has to wreak havoc on everything below. However, riders need to be careful. The Gliding, while flexible, can leave survivors in vulnerable positions when they finally land on the ground. Because the base movement speed of the Monkeydactylus is average at best(becoming exponentially faster when climbing), Survivors need to accurately aim for where they're going to land when in combat. Monkeydactylus Lasso: Another possible item the Monkeydactylus can be used for is the aforementioned "Monkeydactylus Lasso". While it is required to tame the Monkeydactylus, there are a few options on how the lasso should be handled. Option 1: If only a Survivor is carrying it, the lasso would only be able to be used to tame a Monkeydactylus, and would become more useful while riding a tamed one. While Riding a Monkeydactylus, the lasso could be used to wrangle creatures, just the same as the lasso made from the Equus. Option 2: The Survivor can only use the Lasso strictly for taming the Monkeydactylus Option 1 is a lot more fun, We weren't sure if it would be balanced or not, so this one is in the air. If the Monkeydactylus were integrated into the game, I'd be keener on seeing option 1 become a reality. Controls Space (on the ground near a wall) -> Jump on the nearest surface, if you aren't near a climbable surface, this initiates a standard jump-glide like a Deinonychus Space (whilst climbing) -> Detach off of the attached surface (if high enough, the Monkeydactylus will glide off) W+shift (camera pan down mid-air) -> Dive-bomb for acceleration (remember: you can't fly, use this sparingly and with a far distance between you and the ground) Lmb -> Standard Bite; The Monkeydactylus lunges forward to bite its enemies! Damage dealt: 20 Rmb -> Gel Blast; The Monkeydactylus hawks up a giant Gel blast from its gular pouch! Damage dealt: 45 (uses 150 food)(can be aimed from the player POV) X -> Roar/Taunt -> The Monkeydactylus unleashes a loud screech while having its wings fully stretched out in an intimidating display! With all of that being said, thank you so much for taking the time to read through this! We believe that the Monkeydactylus truly fits right in with the colorful and bizarre world of aberration, and we hope you do too! Special thanks to my good friend @Pine.warbler.paleoart on Instagram for helping make this vision a reality.
  16. Introducing Rheobatrachus volans, the Gliding Frog! This animal is based off of a combination of the recently extinct Gastric Brooding Frog and the living Wallace’s Flying Frog. Aberration is no stranger to downright weird wildlife, and what’s weirder than a combination of a frog that gives birth to live babies and a frog that can fly! If this creature was added, it’d certainly do wonders for ARK’s heavily lacking amphibian roster, along with adding something that Aberration sorely needs! The biggest part of Aberration, in my opinion, is the unique methods of transportation that are imposed on the player due to the environment. While end game choices like the Rock Drake are everything you could want and more for cave exploration, I feel like early game creatures like the Ravager and Roll Rat are lacking. Their movement abilities are interesting, but are either incredibly niche in use or aren’t really the best for the map (for example, as much as I love the Roll Rat, on Aberration it’s very prone to just rolling off a cliff, and struggles to turn in tight passageways). Rheobatrachus will be the answer to your early game transport needs and add a new, if a little goofy, way to travel in style! Let's hop into the concept! Table of Contents 1. Artwork 2. Dossier Text 3. Potential Base Stats and Spawning 4. Taming 5. Abilities and Controls - A Flying Frog? - Abilities - Controls 6. Supplementary Links Dossier Text Common Name: Gliding Frog Species: Rheobatrachus volans Time: Holocene Diet: Omnivore Temperament: Evasive Wild Apart from the size, Rheobatrachus volans bears strong resemblance to its recently extinct relatives… except for the fact that this super-charged frog can fly! Well, more like fall with style. Much like other frogs, its sticky toe pads allow it to grip a variety of surfaces with ease. However, the webbing between its digits is specifically designed to catch the air like a parachute! This allows it to leap great distances, then gently float back to earth without a scratch. An excellent adaptation for staying mobile in these twisting caverns! Somehow stranger than the gliding is its preferred method for avoiding predators… weaponised charge light! Females will produce ammunition in the form of specialised eggs, which they swallow and store in their stomach. When threatened, they burp them up, and the resulting blinding flash caused by the eggs bursting open stuns predators long enough for them to make their escape! The males aren’t defenceless either, filling their vocal sacs with charge to put foes in a trance, then croaking loudly to send them running! Domesticated While not the most adept climber, or the fastest glider, Rheobatrachus is the perfect choice for those just starting to explore the depths! The giant amphibian is especially popular thanks to its unique reproduction. Giving birth to live young means that it is far less water-dependent than its kin, making them much easier to keep in captivity. Any added mobility in these caves is invaluable, and its affinity for defending itself with charge light has saved my skin more times than I can count! Potential Base Stats and Spawning Health: 225 Stamina/Charge Capacity: 300 Charge Regeneration: 150 Food: 1500 Weight: 280 Melee Damage: See "Abilities and Controls" section for base damage values Torpidity: 175 Rheobatrachus would be found in the Fertile/Green Zones of Aberration. You may see this hybrid frog meandering along the ground, or resting in a lofty perch inside the caps of the giant fungal trees. I feel like having an animal, like the Archaeopteryx, that can be found roosting in trees would really help the map feel a lot more alive! All of the “activity” in ARK really happens at the player’s eye level, there’s rarely a reason to look upwards aside from trying to find a flyer. Having a creature that could bring some life to the tree canopy would be more than welcome! Taming While I love a good custom taming mechanic, an early game creature shouldn’t have anything too complex. Rheobatrachus would be a conventional KO tame, but I’d be open to any appropriate suggestions to spice things up! However, there are a few things to note about taming yourself a froggy friend… Diet Rheobatrachus likes to eat, in order of preference: Plant Species Z Fruit (kibble) Mutton Prime Meat I feel having it specifically require Z fruit as its kibble could make things a bit interesting. While intended to be an early game tame, if you really want to kibble tame it, you’ll have to wait till midgame to get a good one. Also, a few of its abilities would most certainly be useful for midgame and even into the lategame as a taming helper! Mobility These frogs are so fine tuned for movement, even bola-ing them down doesn’t stop them completely! I think it would add to the personality of the Rheo if it could still manage a (pitifully) slow crawl while trapped in a bola. Not the fastest or most dignified escape, but it’s all it can manage when its back legs are all tied up! Abilities and Controls A Flying Frog? First things first, lets get this out of the way. I hear you, how does this thing not invalidate creatures like Beelzebufo and Rock Drake? Simple, it has its own niche! Below is a handy dandy chart detailing how its mechanics differ from the rest of the bunch! Art also thanks to RRG! In terms of abilities: The Rheobatrachus would be a wonderful way to get around the upper regions of Aberration! While its combat prowess leaves a bit to be desired, it more than makes up for it in its utility! Both males and females can spread their webbed toes wide to catch the air below them, turning them into living parachutes! Both can also manage that awkward, but endearing, frog climb up a variety of surfaces! However, each has their own charge light themed abilities! Males Males are able to inflate their vocal sacs and fill them with charge light, turning them into a living lure that can slowly lead creatures to different locations. While the sac is inflated, you won’t be able to glide. Females Females will use their charge light stat to slowly produce ammunition, much like Rhyniognatha’s conversion of sap to resin. The ammo will be in the form of explosive eggs! These eggs can be shot out in front of them and create a flash of light, like Plant Species Z. A unique feature of this amphibian is its reproduction. It will give birth to live young when bred! In terms of controls: Left Click : A simple bite. 12 base damage. Harvests a good amount of chitin! Right Click : On males, this will do the equivalent of parasaur's scary honk. On females, it will be a small forward stomp with 20 base damage. C : Charge-based abilties! Males will glow and lure things towards them, females will shoot out a singular egg from their ammunition stockpile. Left-Control : Activates climbing mode. Being a frog, this fella can climb, just nowhere near as fast as creatures like the Rock Drake or Megalania. Really, its climbing is just enough to help you not have to take the long way round if you fall off a cliff. Spacebar : Leap! Can be aimed much like the Procoptodon's/Karkinos' jump. Holding spacebar activates the parachute. 17. Name: Sugar Glider Species: Petaurus breviceps Time: early-mid Miocene period Diet: omnivores Temperament: Ebullient (1863 illustration by John Gould) Aberration can be a difficult map to get started on, it can be difficult to traverse around as it’s terrain varies a lot in height a lot from all the different biomes, from the underground to the surface and everything in between. Early game there isn’t many options besides the use of ziplines or gliding suits, so this idea was to help with early game traversing. I got inspired to suggest the sugar glider when I came across two fan made dossiers by Interface5 and Seria602 which I will include below. I thought it would fit super well into aberration especially and surprised I hadn’t seen them submitted before in any of the other creature submissions. Wild They are commonly known as Sugar Gliders due to their love for sweet and sugary foods such as sap and nectar. There ability glide through the air aid them in reaching their preferred food and evading enemies. These gliders can launch them self from trees enabling them to glide 50 meters or more. They are more active during the night and tend to take shelter during the day in tree hollows. Its size cannot be ignored as it is several times larger than its pint-sized counterpart. They are very social pack animals; it is very unlikely that you would find one alone. Domesticated With them being unable to fly they make up for it with their amazing climbing and gliding abilities which make great to traverse the ark. Besides their amazing locomotion they also can strip bark from the trees allowing them to gather their preferred food sources. Fun facts - sugar gliders are omnivores, their preferred food is sap and nectar however they also eat fruit and insects. - female sugar gliders have a marsupium (pouch) that they use to carry babies. - they are nocturnal. - They are very social animals and tend to live in colonies of up to 10 animals - Sugar gliders can produce four types of sounds under normal circumstances: barking, hissing, crabbing, and hissing or purring, but when threatened they bark to warn others of the dangerous surroundings. - Sugar gliders communicate via their saliva and can make distinctive/unique scents that aid in identifying the hierarchy/territory, these scents can also be used in deterring enemies. thoughts I think a nice idea could be they rest during the day, either curled up on the ground (like shadowmanes) as there a lot larger in sizer to their smaller counterparts or they could sleep latched onto trees? (Like how the Thylacoleo attach to them.) Seeing as they adore all things sweet and sugary, I think they should be able to harvest sap and honey from the trees/hives. Since they are not fighting creatures and lack the ability to fight, maybe their bark could startle dinosaurs for a moment allowing them to run away. Maybe they could be able to care for babies in their pouch but limited to two babies maximum. Taming the idea for taming these, since they adore sweet things, I thought it would be nice if you could passively feed them, I think it could be nice if they would come running up to players holding their preferred foods. (Like a ferox to element) So, the idea is a large sugar glider that is an early game mount. With amazing ability at traversing the ark, a good early glider/climber. A top tier traveling companion! The ability to startle dinos around it so it can make an escape from any danger. it would also have the ability to gather sap/honey. information and images credits; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sugar_glider https://a-z-animals.com/blog/10-incredible-sugar-glider-facts/?from=exit_intent https://a-z-animals.com/animals/sugar-glider/ 1863 illustration by John Gould Intergace_5 and Seria602 for the dossiers
  18. (Artwork by me) Behavior: Santanmantis is highly aggressive in the wild. It will attack pretty much anything – from the size of a Dodo to a Reaper Queen, and even its own kind if multiple are present. Appearance: Santanmantis axelrodi is between about the size of a Rex and Allosaurus. It is a four-”armed,” four-legged mantis with an iridescent exoskeleton and wings. Its head is similar to that of a carnivorous dinosaur, but clearly has some buglike features as well. Design inspiration was taken from fossils of the prehistoric mantis, the iridescent bark mantis, and just myself spitting out random details. Taming: To tame a Santanmantis, you must breed two wild Santans together. Since this is a unique taming process, here are the steps to getting a Santanmantis of your own. First, sacrifice a live tame of yours to a female Santanmantis to pacify it. The more health that tame has, the longer she will be pacified. Then lead a male to her by having him chase after you. Once the two are near each other they will begin breeding. When that is finished, the female will kill her mate and become fully passive towards you. After a while, the female lays an egg that you can take and raise to earn your very own Santanmantis. Stats are taken from both parents. The female will die after laying her egg. Potential Abilities: Left Click - Slashing Flurry: Santanmantis swings its arms and hits twice. It gradually swings faster as it is spammed and will deal bleed damage if spammed for long enough. Left Click (Hold) - Grab: Santanmantis will grab hold of anything nearby up to the size of an Anky. It can carry four creatures at once, but cannot glide or fly while carrying. If there is something small enough to grab nearby, it will pick it up. If there is nothing to grab or if all four arms are full, Santanmantis will drop everything. Can also pick up eggs undetected. Right Click - Climb/Lunge: Point at a slope and Santanmantis will jump onto it, allowing for you to climb in any direction, even side-to-side. Right click again to stop climbing. Right Click (Hold) - Evisceration: Hold right click to show a crosshair. That crosshair will lock onto a target up to the size of a Carnotaurus. Once the target is locked, let go to lunge at the target and snare it in Santan’s four arms. It will then proceed to essentially rip the poor target open, dealing an appalling amount of damage. If the target miraculously survives, DOT and slow will be inflicted for a short period of time. C - Dash: Santanmantis holds its spined arms out and dashes a medium distance forward, inflicting bleed to whatever it hits. Pointing in any direction other than forward will have Santanmantis turn in an instant while attacking, similar to the Sarco. Left Ctrl - Roar: Just a cool aesthetic roar cause why not. Space - Glide/Fly: Females can glide, males can fly. For females, hold space and release to jump into the air. Hold shift to glide, just like a Rock Drake or Maewing. For males, pressing space will simply lift them into the air for flight. They cannot sprint while flying, though, and flying consumes drastically more stamina than it does for most fliers. Passive - Bioluminescence: In dark areas, Santan’s abdomen lights up with about twice the diameter of a typical lightpet’s charge. Perfect for fending off Nameless and Reapers, but will turn off in well-lit places. Passive - Radiation Immunity Sexual Dimorphism: Male Santanmantis are a little smaller, have less health, and deal less damage. However, they are faster and have the ability to fly (Although not as well as most fliers). Female Santanmantis are larger, tankier, and more powerful, but they are slower. They can also glide about as well as a Rock Drake. Overview: Santanmantis axelrodi would essentially be the Swiss Army Knife of Aberration, along with the males being the one and only rideable fliers on the map, and the females being efficient gliders. It can climb in all directions, even side-to-side. Since light is also essential to survive on this map, Santanmantis’ abdomen lights up in dark places just like real-life fireflies. It’s also perfect for raiding the Rock Drake trench, as it can pick up eggs without aggroing the parent. Not only is it great for travel, Santanmantis is also great for combat, able to inflict bleed with most of its attacks and can insta-kill a lot of small-medium sized creatures with its Evisceration ability. It is also immune to radiation. Sexual dimorphism is also a highly wanted trait for creatures in ARK, and it’d be interesting to see both genders have their own advantages and disadvantages over the other. And of course, who doesn’t love a new and unique taming method? Wild As if I could ever think that this broken ARK couldn’t get any worse… then I discovered Santanmantis axelrodi. This thing looks like if a regular praying mantis were dunked in a barrel of nuclear waste! But as horrific as it is, this prehistoric mantis is fascinating – maybe even beautiful. Not only is it an insectophobe’s worst nightmare, Santanmantis is also a masterful hunter. It’s got speed, power, tactics, everything you’d want in an experienced killer. Much like modern mantids, Santanmantis can climb up any surface and grapple any unfortunate prey with its modified front limbs, to which it will devour with brutal haste. Domesticated Santanmantis’ impressive set of skills can be utilized to perfection inside the dark, untamed environment that it calls home. With its ability to climb, glide, and even fly for short periods depending on the insect's gender, scaling the caves is not a problem. Of course, you can’t forget that it can pick up smaller creatures in its arms, and will even pick up eggs! I wonder if that could be used for any special heists… Are you afraid of the dark? No need to worry about that either! When entering dark environments, Santanmantis’ abdomen will light up – just like a glowbug! However, this glow cannot be activated or deactivated manually, so it can’t save you from the Nameless and Reapers forever.
  19. My suggestion comes from the first known reptile to glide about 260 million years ago, the Coelurosauravus. I think Aberration could use another dino that significantly helps with early-game traversal. The Rock Drake is amazing, but it takes a while for the survivor to attain. The Draco Venenum will help traverse the map early on as it is proficient at gliding and climbing. I also think the taming of the creature is different than usual, as it is very similar to the Troodon. I also foresee the wild Draco employing hunting tactics like the Thylacoleo. Introducing a new tranquilizer from its venom could be interesting as well. Wild Card hasn't introduced a new tranquilizer with an even greater potency than the narcotic. Finally, I am fully aware that my version of the Coelurosauravus is significantly larger than what fossils have pieced together but consider the recently added Rhyniognatha. Wild Named for its potent venomous bite, this gliding reptile must be related to the much smaller Coelurosauravus. It's much smaller than the Rock Drake being about the size of a Parasaur. I will call it the Draco Venenum. Draco is capable of gliding flight via membranes formed by an enlarged set of ribs. It is one of the most agile creatures in this aberrant world. Taming The Draco cannot be tamed by conventional means. It is virtually immune to narcotics of any kind. To tame the Draco you must present it with a weakened tame of your own allowing it to paralyze it and then feast upon its corpse. The more powerful the tame, the more effective taming will be. Domesticated Once tamed, Draco's venom could become very handy in knocking out other creatures. Its venom is even more potent than the Basilisk's. Draco's bite will do the trick, but I've also been able to utilize the venom to make an even more potent narcotic. Draco proves to be a very useful companion early on in my adventure. 20. NAME: NEOBATRACHIA SPECIES: NEOBATRACHIA AJAJU TIME: UNKNOWN DIET: CARNIVORE TEMPERAMENT: AGGRESSIVE WILD THE NEOBATRACHIA IS A TERROR OF THE JUNGLE IN ABERRATION, A MASSIVE SIZED TREE FROG DESCENDANT THAT STALKS THE CANOPIES AND CLIFFS BY LEAPING AND CLIMBING TO PURSUE ITS PREY. GIVEN IT’S SCIENTIFIC NAME AFTER A MYTHICAL BLOOD DRINKER THIS FROG USES A SERRATED TONGUE TO GRASP ITS VICTIMS AND AS THEY STRUGGLE BLEED THEM OUT. EVEN WORSE DUE TO THEIR LOVE OF HALLUCINOGENIC MUSHROOMS IF YOU ATTACK THEM TO MUCH WITH MELEE AT CLOSE RANGE YOU WILL GO FOR A LITTLE TRIP. THIS BEAST IS A THREAT ON LAND, WATER, AND EVEN SKY AS IT CAN USE ITS GIANT WEBBED FEET TO SLOW ITS FALLS AND GLIDE FOR A SIGNIFICANT DISTANCE TO CHASE GLIDING SURVIVORS. IN THE WATER THEY ARE SLOW AND EASY TO EVADE AT LEAST, BUT NEVER LET YOUR GUARD DOWN IF YOU THINK ANY ARE NEAR, THERE’S NOTHING LIKE HAVING A NICE SWIM ONLY TO HAVE A GIANT FROG SLAM INTO YOU AT HIGH VELOCITY FROM SOMEWHERE HIGH IN THE CANOPY. THEY DO HAVE A SPECTACULARLY BEAUTIFUL SONG WHEN COMMUNICATING THROUGH, FOR A CARNO SIZED AMPHIBIAN THAT WANTS TO EAT EVERYTHING. DOMESTICATED TAMING A NEOBATRACHIA IS THE CLASSIC, BOLA IT AND THEN BONK IT UNCONSCIOUS TO GIVE IT FOOD, WELL BLOOD, THEY LIKE BLOOD MIXED WITH HALLUCINOGENIC MUSHROOMS. ONCE TAMED YOU HAVE A BEAST THAT CAN CLIMB WALLS AND TREES, GLIDE ACROSS THE CANOPY, AND SWIM THE WATERS OF YOUR CAVERNOUS HOME! THEY LIKE RAVAGERS CAN CLIMB VINES AND ZIPLINES, BUT ONLY IN ONE DIRECTION. WITH A FLICK OF ITS TONGUE YOU CAN BLEED OUT MOST CREATURES YOU FACE, OR SEND OTHER SURVIVORS INTO A HALLUCINOGENIC STATE, AND FOR ANYTHING SMALLER THAN A REAPER YOU CAN POUNCE UPON IT TO PIN IT DOWN. THE ONLY DOWNSIDE IS THEY BREED SLOWLY AND KEEPING THE TADPOLES ALIVE IS A CHORE, BUT IF YOU MANAGE THEN YOU WILL HAVE A POWERFUL ALLY IN YOUR MISSION TO SURVIVE THE ARK. ANOTHER REASON SURVIVORS TAME THEM IS TO HARVEST THEIR MUCUS WHICH CAN BE USED TO RESIST RADIATION OR TURNED USED AS A NARCOTIC SUBSTITUTE. THEY MAKE EXCELLENT MOUNTS FOR AMBUSHING SURVIVORS ATTEMPTING TO GO FOR A GLIDE, EITHER BY PINNING THEM OUT OF MIDAIR TO THE UNFORGIVING GROUND OR A MUSHROOM TRUNK, OR DOING A TONGUE FLICK TO DISABLE THEIR GLIDER AND SEND THEM PLUMMETING TO THEIR DEATH. THESE FROGS TAKE NO FALL DAMAGE FROM GREAT HEIGHTS SO FEEL FREE TO GO WILD IN EXPLORING EVERY POSSIBLE HEIGHT OR DEPTH YOU CAN. UTILITY WAR MOUNT, NOT SUPER HEAVY ON HEALTH/DEFENSE BUT MORE THEN MAKES UP FOR THESE DRAWBACKS BY HAVING TWO STATUS EFFECT INFLICTIONS AND HIGH MOBILITY ALL TERRAIN MOVEMENT. NO FALL DAMAGE SO YOU CAN LITERALLY JUST LAUNCH YOURSELF INTO A MASSIVE FALL AND JUST DROP OR GLIDE AWAY. GLIDING IS MORE EFFICIENT THAN THE GLIDER ITEM AND OTHER GLIDING MOUNTS IN DISTANCE AND STAMINA, AND IT CAN LAND ON VERTICAL SURFACES LIKE A TAPEJARA. THE PIN CAN BE DONE ON GROUND OR WALL AND YOU CAN SNATCH SOMEONE FROM THE AIR, WORKS JUST LIKE A RAPTOR PIN.
  21. Pet Info: 1. Butterfly Pets are used to collect "Nectar" aka water when you collect from bushes or flower shrubs (This would include crops). I would think if you add a container to their inventory it would be a way to fill them up while it is on your shoulder and you collect berries, etc. 2. They Glow brightly and flutter and move their wings when they get near a bee hive (Queen Bee) or a Water Well Spot. 3. While equipped you can glide short distances (Like glider wings) 4. They buzz when thunderstorms are near. 5. They do not attack and are naturally passive flee. 6. Are tamed by holding up a torch in their vicinity AT NIGHT, after eating a rare flower. (It is instant tamed this way, the timer would need to be low to allow you to run from everything else. lol). 7. They give Chitin, silk and/or rare flowers when killed. 8. They eat any vegetable, berry or fruit, Preferring Rare Flowers. My Thoughts: I'm hoping it can be around the size of a Sinomacrops. I would LOVE to have all color ranges open, as many as possible (They are meant to be colorful!). Real world Information: The Queen butterfly (Danaus gilippus) is a year-round resident in the deserts of the American West. It is a relative of the Common Monarch (Danaus plexippus), but is darker in color. Adult Queen butterflies have a wingspan of 2 5/8 inches to 3 7/8 inches (6.7 to 9.8 cm). The larvae of the Queen feed on the various species of milkweed that grow throughout the desert. Queen butterflies are found throughout the American deserts and in the southern regions of the United States, south through Mexico, Central and South America to Argentina. 23. The arbanitis is a giant trapdoor spider Local to the desert area, such as scorched earth, this giant spider lives in small burrows that survivors try to take over to build small bases to hide from the weather. They posses a stunning bite which they use most by striking from under ground after burrying themselves. They also posses the ability to jump large distances and have limited glide ability and take no fall damage. They can also climb on walls and ceilings. When tamed these spiders make an excellent travel companion with there ability to glide and make taming easier with there torpor inducing bite. You would find these buried in the sand in small pocket burrows that your p/c could build a small shelter out of the weather in.

Common Name: Archaeopteryx Species: Archaeopteryx Magnamilvum Time: Late Jurassic Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Fearful Wild: Approximately one meter long, the Archaeopteryx Magnamilvum is a primarily tree-dwelling proto-bird. It avoids the ground as much as possible, preferring to stay in the safety of the trees, where few predators can reach it. I’ve not seen an Archaeopteryx outright fly yet, so it’s possible that they can’t generate enough lift to do more than glide long distances between perches. I’m not sure how a creature as fearful of the ground can be such a picky eater, but Archaeopteryx only seems to consume certain rare insect matter. The most likely explanation is that it tends to nest in infested trees, stripping them bare of such food sources. Domesticated: While not large enough to bare the full weight of an adult human, Archaeopteryx still has great utility. Despite the creature’s inability to fly, its wings have sufficient strength to dramatically slow the rate of a person’s descent if that person holds Archaeopteryx while airborne. Taming Archaeopteryx can be somewhat troublesome, though, as it refuses to eat most common food sources, and glides to prospective safety at the first sign of any interloper.
