  2. Creature Electrosaur:
  3. the gigaspica is like the real world magpie but with sharp teeth that deal bleed damage and can detect materials like metal, crystal, oil, all the gems and dropped cryopods with it's eyes. to tame it you would have to get crystal or metal/ anything shiney and passive tame it but it has a aggressive status like an argentavis and it has 50% weight reduction for metals. it's an omnivore when tamed so berries and meat are on the menu. It has an attack like a ptranodon barrelroll that is powerful. it can pickup 4 people or 3 creatures one in it's mouth one in it's right talon and one on it's left. So it's a midgame tame that's like a powerful really useful argentavis Hoped you liked the suggestion and if a mod reads this can you take down my other post because I can't delete it thank you and have a nice day
  4. Thalassodromeus sethi lived in present day Brazil about 100 million years ago. It had a LARGE bony crest that was speculated to serve as a large thermoregulator, and brilliant display for mating. Thalassodromeus was first thought to be a skim feeder but that idea was largely dismissed and has since been speculated that it hunted like a stork wading through the marshes and swallowed its prey whole. In ARK we see the Thalassodromeus living in swampy areas. Here they feast on their favorite prey, leeches. Its crest is flashy and easily scares away most swamp dwelling creatures, except for the occasional sarco, to which they just relocate if they are unfortunate enough to be caught out alone. To Thalassodromeus's credit, they often wander in packs or 3 to 5 and are not timid to encroaching hostile prey and will attack it relentlessly. They get a boost of morale and confidence when together in groups and will defend their nests ferociously. You can steal an egg at great risk, but trespasser beware. Taming process: To tame the Thalassodromeus one either has to brave stealing an egg or approach it with its favorite food; not in hand, but rather, stuck.. to you. However, it can sense disease leaches so it will attack the sick on sight. Thalassodromeus will then "pick" the leech off of you and begin to gain your affection. This peck does come with some damage, so bing some healing. Also, ghillie is a must. Tamed Thalssodromeus: Mountable The Thalassodromeus offers quite an array of abilities to the ARK's Tribes. Once tamed, the thermoregulations of the crest offer great thermal protection versus all of the ARK's climates. Thalassodromeus is also a great hunter of leeches, its favorite food, gathering heaps of leech blood in the process. Their flashy crests scare away most small creatures from attacking it, even the cunning thylacoleo thinks twice. They serve as decently fast mounts matching Pteranodon speeds and have a pack boost from an alpha. Once boosted the Thalassodromeus gains a speed boost and a diving attack with its large bony crest that slices its targets and produces a bleed. Beware though, if you miss you target, you may get stuck in the ground... for a few seconds. The Thalassodromeus can swallow small prey whole.
  5. Dossier: One my time on the ARK one of the creatures I've been the most in love with have been the Anurognathus Turbela, contrary to Anurognathus Ammoni, Anurognathus Turbela is almost eleven times the size of its original counterpart, Anurognathus Turbela is a creature of loyal temper who will follow survivors with chitin or meat on them, the Anurognathus will constantly follow the survivors and will beg them for food whenever they encounter them in an adorable little fasion, when in the wild these creatures usually travel in packs of up to five individuals, and it is usuallly recommended to tame at least two Anurognathus Turbela for them to be effective when in travel. When tamed, Anurognathus can prove to be a valuable tame, and it is not uncommon to see survivors without one of them in their backs, even going as far as to jumping off the back of their tamer to protect them from imminent danger, if the player is attacked or left injured badly by a creature, Anurognathus will proceed to chip away at the creauture by guiding it away until the creature is lost of sight, afterwards the Anurognathus will return to its tamer and stay by its side, however it can be trained not to do that, Anurognathus enjoys meat and chitin and it is always fun to pet them to see their reactions, as well in long falls Anurognathus will spread open its wings as a parachute to attempt and reduce the fall damage recieved, however this will drain its stamina quickly, eitherway a very useful tame for experience and new survivors. Pro tips for taming: Anurognathus will avoid dense forests, swamps, redwoods, mountains, and rivers, and can only be found in plain areas with low amount of trees around, places like 'the footpaw' or 'the weathertop' are good places to find Anurognathus. Anurognathus is a passive tame, implying that you'll need meat or chitin in your last slot to be able to tame them, Anurognathus won't attack unless provoked, and angering an Anurognathus is a very poor decision as the team can chip away at a starting-level survivor, and in groups can probably kill a decent level para. Utility: Parachute but not as OP and also reutilizable, can save you if you're being attacked by like a carno or trike but of course you can disable that setting and let it stay with you and watch you as you guide that 150 rex to the trap knowing damn well you finna die, have a fluffy, loyal companion who will be by your side regardless! And by the way don't be a heartless person and try to kill this thing they drop literarily nothing besides hide and meat.
  6. Arambourgiania is an extinct genus of azhdarchid pterosaur from the Late Cretaceous period (Maastrichtian stage) of Jordan, and possibly the United States.[1] Arambourgiania was among the largest members of its family, the Azhdarchidae, and it is also one of the largest flying animals ever known. The incomplete left ulna of the "Sidi Chennane azhdarchid" from Morocco may have also belonged to Arambourgiania. a giant speedy pterosaur saddle - level 97 stats H = 1300 + 200 + 5% S = 800 + 40 + 5% O = 10 + 0 + 100% (joke stat because flyers cant enter water) F = 200 + 120 + 10% W = 6000 + 200 + 20% D = 50% + 5% + 1.7% MS = 175% +15% + 10% Drag = 2000 attacks/uses left click on ground - air wave knockback with wing left click in air - bite right click on ground - U-turn (instantly turns you around and launches you into the air uses 1/2 of max stamina) right click in air - grab that can carry anything smaller than a rex (can carry rexes) attack3/c in air - special grab (can grab flyers execpt for wyverns and quetzals) grabs from mouth but does 50 dmg (cancels the other grab if you are holding any other dinos) attack4/x in air - U-turn but uses 3/4 of your max stamina taming something extremley stupid
In Greek mythology, Pegasus is a winged horse. Pegasus was the first horse that came to be among the gods. Pegasus was the horse of Zeus, god of heaven and earth. Pegasus, along with his brother Chrysaor, was born from the blood shed by Medusa when Perseus cut off her head.It will be tamed by feeding it rare flowers and eliminating it will give as a reward a skin for sword and bow and a feather that can be used for recipes with speed, resistance and damage buffsse domesticara dandole de comer flores raras y al eliminarlo dara como recompensa una skin para espada y arco y una pluma que se podra utilizar para recetas con bufo de velocidad resistencia y daño
  8. My tribe and I are very into avatar, so I was wondering what looks like an Ikran/Banshee from the movie. There is nothing like it, I just thought of this while raising my reaper so I dont have any dossier or anything but I have ideas. Taming: You have to search for a mountain they are inhabiting and go on foot, then you have to prove your worth by either falling from a height or fight it hand to claw, the creature will target you, this is indicated by a red line connecting both of you. Once you tame it you can ride it without a saddle but you want to make a saddle. Riding with no saddle: This will be like flying a fast pteranodon, like really fast. Nothing special. Riding with saddle: This is where the specialties come in, with the saddle you can dive and swoop. With the saddle you will be more mobile than anything else in the game, you will be able to outrun anything in the game. Breeding and Raising: They will not be able to breed because they are supposed to be special and one at a time tames. Tamed Abilities: Like said in the riding section you will be super agile with a saddle but not that special without the saddle. Another ability it has is a roar that increases speed, this can only be used with a pack of them, with the roar it also makes others of this creature friendly to you and help you attack creatures, when this runs out you better fly fast. Wild Abilities: These creatures will make the sky dangerous, the sky in Ark has always been passive and never really dangerous. These will try to swoop down and pluck you from you mount and with target the player rather than the mount, but only if you are in their territory, once out of their territory they will be neutral and not attack you unless there. Eggs: When you are in their territory they will have nests, the eggs in these are very nutritious and can hatch baby versions of these creatures that can be used as sentries to protect your base, but be careful because as you get closer to the nest more will be aggressive. Sentry Mode: When you take an egg and successfully make it to base you can hatch it, when hatched they will need to grow like any other tame, then when they are fully grown they will act as guards for their assigned area. You can set a location for them to patrol or protect and they will attack any creature in that area.
  9. It can mate with Direwolves but the babies are 50/50 chance of having wings. The males have a wing structure reminiscent of large bats while the females have those resembling feathered bird wings. It can dive into the water and out of the water to fly. It does the falcon Stoop. (Falcon hunting dive.) Saddle optional provides greater manuverability with cold storage utilizing frozen canteens. Eats raw meat and rotten meat sharing similarities with vultures. Tameable with mutton (prefered). Wing span of 12ft. Weight of approx 375lb.
  10. The Heracles Inexpectatus is a giant parrot that I could see go both ways, Shoulder mount or Rideable (depending on how big you make it) Shoulder: Rideable (Ultimate stealth Flyer) * Lowers Dino's agro range * Lowers Dino's agro range * It'd be fun if it would imitate your emotes * Cancels Dino's sound based abilities EX: Yuti's Courage/fear roar * You can hear tribes voice chatting from further away * Immune to most if not all negative dino effects * can confuse dinos in packs to not have a pack bonus * Cannot be detected by parasaurs * Right Click Ability: Chaos: confuses wild dinos into running around randomly for a couple of seconds * C ability: can pick up very small creatures
  11. This mythical serpent can be an iconic and powerful creature for a strong and hard work tribe.
  12. Common name:Caviramus Scientific Name:Caviramus Hypnotis Time:Late Triassic Diet:Carnivore Temperament:Neutral/Waiting Predator Wild Caviramus Hypnotis is a solitary, medium size, fast flying pterosaur with a bizarre but fascinating way of hunting. Its crest, wings and tail feathers glow and shine in a hypnotic way, almost making the Caviramus appear angelic to smaller creatures, including humans! This hypnotising lures smaller creatures towards it, and the Caviramus will begin eating this animal whilst it is still alive, and it wont even try to escape either! If one comes across a wild Caviramus, look away immediatley, looking at it for too long will leave you unable to escape its trance, it seems the Caviramus will not be bothered to pursue prey that is not attracted to it. Domesticated Im not sure how, but people have managed to both tame and ride Caviramus, its about as fast as a Pteranodon, at the size of a Tapejara, making it a convenient flyer for travelling, scouting, or even just basic melee combat. Its hypnosis is also a great way to lure wild or enemy creatures into traps. The hypnosis also seems to calm and soothe both humans and creatures. I witnessed an extraordinary case of this soothing when a tribe I was staying with had knocked out a Tyrannosaurus, though unfortunately some Raptors had attacked it whilst asleep, the tribe brought their Caviramus over, and when the Tyrannosaurus woke up, it was perfectly fine!, perfectly domesticated as if the Raptors had never come along in the first place. The Caviramus is really extraordinary I'll say that, its perfect even. So beautiful. So... Majestic. Vic, Victoria? Victoria is that you? Image Credit:Dinopedia.fandom
  13. Yi Qi, in real life, a small micro raptor like creature but has membrane wings instead of feathers and was only capable of gliding instead of powered flight. In ark, the prehistoric creatures are subspecies of creatures they are based on, maybe an ark Yi Qi could be a supersized (size range im imagining is slightly larger than an argy maybe even close to allosaur or carno sized) version that is rideable, can climb rocks and redwood trees to glide off them, maybe the faster you glide down the more momentum you build to form a speed-based attack like the snow owl and griffin however as you swoop and hold down left click, a crosshair forms to be able to aim a quick sweep in and concuss an animal for a short period like a peregrine falcon where its short and quick and you're back in the air again without having to risk too much time being hit by a melee attack. This animal would be more of a support creature to help create openings in battles while other dinosaurs do the main work and would have to be very maneuverable in the air. Ability 1: An ability to compliment the speed, it could have a dismounting ability to launch speedy sneak attacks to knock other players from their mounts and pinning them down in the style a raptor can at the same time stunning the dino to ensure safety of the pinning ability, could even have an armor negation to its pin attack or damage the player based on a small percentage after the initial strike which would take into account its melee. For PVE related encounters it could stun certain sized animals and keep them still to make it an easier tame, (size of creature changes the stun time) or to offer more time for an escape. Ability 2: Since it has a bat like resemblance, an echolocation ability to spot players to give it an edge in badly lit areas, for example, night combat would give you the edge. This echolocation ability would be similar to the parasaurs but faster and can be heard by affected players to atleast know they have been spotted. (Didnt know desmodus was a thing, so instead probably could build off of its ability with another rider on a desmodus that lets you have a lesser version of its echolocation) Taming: Taming process could be, similar to the carcharodontasaurus but it can only be feed insect-like creatures or do a similar thing to andrewsarchus taming however youre falling off some very tall cliffs or trees trying to keep the animal upright so you don't fall off or just matching certain directions and if you fail you risk falling off hundreds of meters high while being sweep attacked by the Yi qi, perhaps on maps like crystal isles like the floating cliffs or the tall rocks on abberation you would have to utilize climbing picks or grapple hooks to get close and mount it where it then begins to fall and glide around the area at a high speed. Habitat: Redwood forests, biomes with cliffs, floating cliff mountains like in crystal isles would be perfect. Passive Abilities: Will collect more chitin and keratin when harvesting animals that can give it, Will increase the chances of collecting seeds from bushes, eating insect like creatures can give it a similar frenzy effect to the carcahro or just simply heal it to help with cave exploration. Cons: Perhaps as a balance, if its wings are shot in a pvp encounter holes will be blown into its membrane like wings and give a speed reduction which takes 2 or 3 min to fully heal, but must need a sniper bullets to penetrate the thick skin.
  14. The Heliogutus is a power egg incubating animal found on The Island, Lost Island, Scorched Earth, and both Genesis maps. I is a big and powerful creature with the jaws of a Rex and the speed of an Argie. It is has no damage reduction and shouldn’t be exposed to powerful animals. It can have upgraded speed. It is a knock out tame with each level needing five tranqs. It will attack on sight. It is an omnivore
  15. This insect is very small in real life but Ark isn't always biologically accurate and takes creative liberties like with the scorpion, mantis and dung beetle so with that being said hears the idea... This beetle would be the size of a trike fully grown. Would be able to walk, fly (slowly) and swim. Taming: Taming wild you would need guillie suit, bug spray, and a new craftable taming item called a rotten pouch (spoiled meat, honey and rare mushrooms) to passive tame. Combat: These beetles will be very tanky with lots of health and average melee output as medium sized carnivores. They'll have a very versatile movement as they can fly walk and swill. They'll have a special ability to release narcotic fumes by shaking its body side to side similar to the magmasaur pink fume ability. Utilities: High carry weight.. land sea and air travel.. high health for dangerous explorations New item: Potent Stomach acid: craft this new item in this creatures inventory using spoiled meat (like a lot 200 to 500) and force feed to any knocked out creature to increase starvation by 2 or 3 times. (Only 1 use allowed per unconscious creature) Breeding: Only can breed in water. Have a larvea for that can't leave water till adult. Eats spoiled meat Let me know what you think and vote if you like the idea.
  16. From Wikipedia article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passenger_pigeon) Passenger Pigeon Dossier Wild Similar to the once most numerous bird on earth, they travel with large flocks and migrate to various places. Journey across the biomes is very harsh and they require lots of food to keep their journey. They head to the glass field, fertile forest in a high speed just like having a race! Some flocks often visit human habitat to get some food from hands or even from crop plots. Don't let your clops be stolen! Domesticated Like a common pigeon, they produce "Pidgeon Milk" both of the male and female. This milk is effective for increasing imprint of babies and may be good partners for breeding just like a maewing! The most useful utility of this pigeon is a long-distance carrier. Using their ability of migration by flocks and homing ability, they can carry lots of cargos and important messages for tribe members! Utility of Pigeon 1: Breeding Helper Like oil of basilos, they produce Pidgeon Milk in certain intervals. This milk can increase imprinting quality by feeding it to babies. It may be useful to the dinos like gigas and carchas, which needs lots of time for imprinting. 2:Great Carrier of the Sky (Just like a Delivery Crate) They can carry lots of baggage by flocks. Destination of them can be chosen from pins of maps or your tribe members, dinos or Tek Storages. If the destination is set to tribe members, dinos or Tek Storages, inventories of pigeons can be removed to them as soon as when pigeons arrived at the destination. If you set pigeons to follow survivors or dinos, they return to them after finishing delivery. Flocks have pack bonus of speed and maximum is +8 and gain 50% speed increase. Pigeons also have weight-reducing ability and can carry large amount of carriage. Weight-reducing items are include: Stone, Raw Metal, Thatch, Wood, Metal Ingot, Fungal wood, Sand, Clay, Fiber, Cactus Sap, Cementing Paste and Structures Combat Pigeons are also good resource of meat. If you hunt them, you can get large amount of prime meat. However, they run away in a high speed when a member of the flock is attacked or killed. Taming When you drop Simple Kibbles or berries, pigeons on the sky or ground comes to you. The one which can arrived to the food first can become tamable and others are not tamable. From the second feeding, only the first arrival can eat taming food.
  17. General: Alright here is my idea for a new giant dragonfly, while there were never any dragonflies as big as I am suggesting ARK has moved away from reality a little over the last few years, so I think that wouldn't be a problem anymore. I'm still not sure on the name, so I used the scientific name of dragonflies as a placeholder for now since the Meganeura already exists in the game. But now onto the creature: I would see its size to be one of the larger flyers in the game being somewhat smaller than a Wyvern. The Dragonfly is all about flying and aerial combat. They are fast and have a lot of stamina, they have ok damage and rather low health for their size since they are very streamlined for fast flying. Because of their focus on lang fast flying they are alson unable to carry large weights giving them only a low weight stat for their size. Since they are insects they do have an exoskeleton which provides them with a small amount of armor. They are also very vulnerable to fire. Wild: They can be found close to large lakes or rivers. There they behave very territorial. They have very clear flying patterns always flying in circles or on almost straight lines occasionally stopping and hovering in place. Dragonflies are aerial predators therefore they only attack flying creatures, this also applies to the player who is only attacked while flying. If they attack a smaller creature they will grab it and land on any large enough surface to eat it. They will also rarely land by themselves to warm up in the sun. It is important to note that like real Dragonflies they can not walk, while on the ground they can't move at all. Tamed: A tamed giant Dragonfly can be very useful for traveling as well as for aerial combat. They have 3 different flying modes: Counter stroking: in this mode the Dragonflies Front and hindwings move 180° out of phase, they can only move slowly while in this mode however they can move in every direction (Front, back, left, right, up, down) their movements are very precise, and they can of course hover in place. While in this mode flying consumes no stamina however they do not regain any stamina either. Fast flying: for simplification I combined to different modes of flying in real dragonflies for this one, here they move all four wings at the same time in order to achieve great speeds. Still they remain very agile and can turn around very quickly. This mode consumes a high amount of stamina Glide: This mode is very self-explanatory, the dragonfly glides. This mode does not consume stamina, or it might even allow the dragonfly to regain small amounts of stamina depending on balancing. Dragonfly vision: Dragonflies have extremely good eyesight. Their eyes are specifically adapted to detecting movement. When active all moving creatures are highlighted including cloaked ones like Rockdrakes or shadowmanes, flying creatures are also highlight while in flight even when not moving. Lock on attack: real Dragonflies have a success rate of over 90% in their hunts, this is due to their ability to predict their preys movements, allowing them to not chase their prey from behind but intercept their preys flight path. In the game this will be translated into a lock on attack which can be used on any target but is most effective against flying targets. When this attack is performed the dragonfly will do a quick dash towards the target, smaller flying targets will be grabbed by this, targets on the ground as well as larger flyers will receive a high amount of damage. This attack may or may not be able to dismount and grab players from their mounts again depending on balancing. Bite: the name says it all it's a bite. Damage is increased towards grabbed creatures. Cold-blooded: due to their lifestyle Dragonflies are very sensitive to temperature, in cold temperatures a Dragonfly's flight speed is decreased. More importantly its stamina consumption is greatly increased as well as stamina regeneration being slower. Real dragonflies can also overheat however the effects of overheating don't translate to gameplay as easily, but it might still be included Breeding: In this area I'm Still not quite sure how it can be done best but here are my thoughts on how to breed dragonflies Eggs need to be laid in water. The eggs hatch into larval dragonflies which also live entirely aquatic. When the dragonfly matures it changes into its adult form which is able to live on land. Taming: Now the big question, how to tame a Dragonfly. While a Dragonfly sits down a player can feed it meat and mount it, the dragonfly will then start to fly again making its taming similar to an Equus. After a certain time the player gets thrown of again. Since dragonflies will always land upon grabbing a flying creature players can sacrifice tames like Pteranodons to land Dragonflies, this could also be used to increase taming effectiveness. While the Dragonfly can be ridden without a saddle due to their anatomy a person sitting directly on its back may interfere with wing movements making it harder for dragonflies to fly, therefore a dragonfly can only achieve full flight capabilities while ridden if a saddle is applied that allows it to freely move its wings. So now that I have explained all of my ideas I want to note that this may or may not work well. So most likely a lot would need to be changed for this creature to actually work within the game. But I think this could be used as a foundation, and i really just want more bugs in the game as they have a lot of potential but have been greatly overlooked in the past. Feel free to add ideas or comment on my ideas.
  18. Draconis Aquarius, otherwise known as the Sea Strider is a large draconic creature that makes its home deep underwater. Growing in sizes comparible to the Megachelon and Mosasaur, Sea Striders are very intelligent carnivores that prefer to prey on Cnidaria, Electrophorus, and Ichthyornis or Pelagornis in the wild. Despite being large and powerful enough to take out a survivor or Ichthyosaurus with ease, Sea Striders actually enjoy the company of docile creatures and friendly survivors, often going out of their way to protect them. When wild, Sea Striders slowly float around near the ocean floor, keeping their massive fin-like wings outstretched while they search for their favorite electrified snacks. While usually docile, they become vicious opponents when attacked, capable of surprising bursts of speed when flapping their fin wings, and delivering powerful bites with their large mouths. Befriending one of these behemoths is easy, but taming one is a different story. If you spend enough time around one and give it some biotoxin, it may allow you to test your worth by mounting it, at which point... You'd better hold on tight. Once mounted, the Sea Strider will rocket towards the surface of the water and break into open flight, causing you to have to steer it away from colliding with things while following prompts to keep it from throwing you off, while it fights against your directional controls. Higher level Sea striders require a higher survivor level to tame, with the minimum level being 60. When tamed, they are powerful water mounts and flyers, capable of a wood and silica pearl harvesting bite, the unique ability to fly and go underwater indefinitely, propel themselves underwater and in the air with wing flaps, glide while flying, and heavy wing attacks that can knock other flyers out of the air or stun creatures underwater. On land, this wing flap functions like a Wyvern wing flap. In the air, they can barrel roll to strike everything around them (but not increase speed), and in the water they can slash with the sharp edges of their wings to bleed attackers or escape from a tuso's grip. Sea Striders are immune to electrocution by Electrophorus, Cnidaria, Voidwyrms, and Electric Prods, while also gaining a damage reduction against the lightning Wyvern. Despite their size, they can't support a platform saddle, and can be ridden unsaddled but do have a special saddle that forms an oxygen bubble around the player, allowing them to breath underwater while mounted. For PvE, this would be an excellent travel and combat mount, as well as a great harvester dino underwater. For PvP, the Sea Striders would also be a great travel and combat mount in the air and water, and could even be used as a soaker underwater thanks to their wings. Along with being their main weapons, the wings recieve 30% less damage from projectiles when underwater, including turrets. Despite being such useful and diverse mounts in the air and water, they don't have any typical limbs or many special abilities they can use on land, which means they're quite slow and clumsy trying to walk or run on their wings and can only use a bite and slow charging wing flap while landed. And that sums it up for the Sea Strider! Hope you like it!
  19. When looking at ideas for a new pterosaur species for Ark Survival Evolved. The species Pterodaustro comes to mind, but many communities create unique designs and suggestions for this species, that don't take into mind the anatomy and background behind the Pterodausto, creating subspecies more similar to Rhamphorhynchus and Dorygnathus, where the animal's teeth are sharp and act like needles. However, while these ideas aren't bad, and in my opinion would work for something else. My team and I personally think that a much larger variant of Pterodaustro, a pterosaur with a baleen like mouth from South America (specifically Chile and Argentina) would and could work as a new rideable flyer to the game (and/or possibly for Ark 2). Common Name: Pterodaustro Species: Pterodaustro dionaliarium Time: Early Cretaceous Diet: Filter-Feeder Temperament: Docile Tameable: Yes Rideable: Yes Breedable: Yes Torpidity Immune: No Taming Method: Passive Preferred Kibble: N/A Preferred Food: Raw Prime Fish Meat Equipment: "Pterodaustro" Saddle (Level 39) Rider Weaponry: Yes Humans Can Carry: No cooked pterasaur ... reddit.com Wild: "Basking in the shallows of Ark's oceans, Pterodaustro dionaliarium is a unique medium-sized ctenochasmatid pterodactyloid pterosaur that lives in the warmer climates of the Ark. Having a mouth full of bristle-like teeth that help the Pterodaustro filter feed, this gentle species lives in moderately sized colonies. Having nesting grounds placed around beaches and coasts, this species migrates and travels around the Ark depending on the season and the amount of food available to that location. However, these pterosaurs are highly adapted to their aquatic environments, and can be found in and around estuaries, lakes, seas and open oceans in search of food. Being one of the few species of flying animals in the Ark adapted to water, Pterodaustro stride and paddle with their splayed hindlegs, tilting their heads and filtering smaller organisms from the water below, a strategy that they also perform in freshwater environments. Feeding off of crustaceans such as shrimp and crabs, invertebrates, algae, and small fish, these food sources give the pterosaur a pinkish to whitish skin texture and pigmentation. This is a by-product of the metabolization of pigments from their food source, similar to the process with flamingos. After this process, P. dionaliarium will clean its upper coating of pycnofibres that cover its back and the top of its torso in order to keep itself clean and to prevent parasites and further damage to its skin and these fibers. A form of cleaning similar to preening performed by avian waterbirds". Domesticated: "When saddled and domesticated by a survivor, Pterodaustro becomes one of the best aquatic and aerial travel mounts. Instead of having to be fed via fish like other aquatic birds and pterosaurs, this pterosaur can filter feed by sitting on the water’s surface and skimming, using its baleen-like teeth to snare and trap small invertebrates and microorganisms. Alongside that, the Pterodaustro is great at chitin harvesting and with its increased speed and size. It can quickly avoid predators and long-ranged weaponry. The "Pterodausto’s" paddle-like feet that allow it to lightly tread and paddle in the water, the recommended saddle can allow multiple (two to three()survivors to use fishing roads on the sides of the saddle, use the saddle as a storage for supplies and as the perfect aquatic and aerial travel mount". - Helena Walker Abilities and Advantages: The pterodaustro can filter-feed anywhere where there is a body of water, freshwater and (primarily) salt water. The Pterodaustro receives a nocturnal boost at night, this is because of the scleral rings found in Pterodaustro fossils and skeletons that suggests that it most likely filter-fed at night similar to modern day anseriformes and/or waterfowl (geese for example). At night the pterodaustro can use its eyes to detect prey underwater, similar to a Snow Owl's vision. A natural way that the Pterodaustro can perform to reduce its hunger depletion, is through an ability known as "Stone Digestion". The ability is activated with the swallowing of gastroliths, stomach stones and/or gizzard stones that can be found as standard stones, rocks and even sand piles that coat the shore of beaches and lakes. These stones and minerals can be swallowed by the pterodaustro to reduce hunger depletion in the hunger bar of the pterodaustro by 2.5% (there is a limit of 10 stones that can be swallowed - an overall percentage of a 25% debuff towards its hunger) as the stones and compounds help break down tough materials in the animal’s stomach such as the chitin and hard carapace of crustaceans. This ability is in effect until the animal disposes of the stones through its intestinal tract. When this ability is activated, the Pterodaustro's weight is lightly (barely) affected, but also its buoyancy. When swallowing prey such as fish (megapiranhas, sabertooth salmon and coelacanth) and/or gathering chitin from trilobites, ammonites and other invertebrates, it grants a regeneration effect similar to that of an Argentavis. The Pterodaustro has a 50% weight reduction towards oil, silica and black pearls and chitin, but also has a 10% increased gathering rate of these listed items. With its large neck muscles and strong spine, the Pterodaustro can lightly skim the water when in flight, for about 2 minutes. Replenishing hunger instantly, but will have to rest shortly after, filling the hunger metre to full and applying the digesting effect. This characteristic might be considered impossible due to drag and other physics applied especially to the animal’s skeletal and muscular system, but it adds to the fictional yet scientific characteristics of Ark Survival Evolved. Young pterodaustro have a fast growth rate and an imprinting buff towards their health, movement speed, weight, oxygen and stamina stats. The pterodaustro can perform a “pumping mechanism” or “pumping action” similar to that of flamingos, auks and mallard ducks that has only been found possible in pterodaustro when compared to other Ctenochasmatinae pterosaurs. When performed by a pterodaustro, it uses its tongue to pass water through its baleen like strainer to make filter-feeding more efficient and separate and sift out different organisms from the water below, allowing it to collect specific resources from its environment such as chitin or oil from invertebrates depending on the pterodaustro. Weaknesses After leaving a body of water and settling on land, the Pterodaustro has a 80-90% chance of having to clean itself off, or the pterosaur will have a slowness debuff applied and will have difficulty during flight. The Pterodaustro can't eat kibbles and other resources such as mutton, but rather chitin, raw and prime fish meat and/or using its filter feeding ability to fill up its hunger bar. The Pterodaustro have short legs, that allow the animal to launch at a fairly low angle, resulting in the animal having a fairly frantic take off when compared to other pterosaurs. Any suggestions and comments please reply below. These are my team's suggestions, so all credit and all reference goes to them for the idea (s). 20. First discovered and classified in 2017, but named in February of 2022. The new genus of pterosaur named Dearc sgiathanach, is a large species of Rhamphorhynchid pterosaur that lived on the islands or the landmass of present day Scotland, during the Mid Jurassic. With this new discovery, my team thought that introducing another "newish" prehistoric species (alongside the Sinomacrops) would introduce the Ark Community to a new creature and species of pterosaur, that was recently discovered, named and classified. Common Name: Dearc Species: Dearc denairc Time: Middle Jurassic Diet: Piscivore Temperament: Reactive Tameable: Yes Rideable: No Breedable: Yes Torpidity Immune: No Taming Method: Knockout Preferred Kibble: Superior Kibble Preferred Food: Prime Fish Meat Rider Weaponry: No Humans Can Carry: No Jurassic pterosaur found on Skye ... bbc.com Wild and Subspecies “Being the largest subspecies of Rhamphorhynchus pterosaur from the Middle Jurassic of Europe, Dearc denairc is a large aerial piscivorous predator that feeds on cephalopods and fish and is the largest Jurassic flying reptile found on the Ark. D. denairc has a wingspan of 3 metres or 9.8 ft, a size that is unlike anything present in other pterosauria of its time such as Dimorphodon. This size could be due to the abundance of prey in its habitat, low amounts of ecological competition and/or the adapted niche that it filled on the coasts of Jurassic Scotland. Like most of its relatives, Dearc has specialised elongated teeth designed similar to that of a needle, an adaptation common amongst Rhamphorhynchoid pterosaurs designed to pierce through the flesh of its prey and help snare or trap larger fish, ammonites or squid, preventing them from escaping. Dearc also has evolved peg-shaped teeth at the back of its jaws designed in holding food in place, and also have a secondary use of impaling and tearing through the chitin or scally flesh of Aquatic vertebrates and invertebrates. The subspecies also has large reinforced, neck muscles present in the pterosaurs neck, this is due to the species unique adaptation in skimming across the water’s surface and in dive-bombing. Characteristics that make it a superior ruler of the seas, from the skies above. Domesticated “It’s unknown if the pterosaur can be saddled or domesticated, however. It would make a perfect tame in fishing, trapping and the snaring of aquatic mollusks, arthropods and vertebrates from the water below. The species could also be used for its ability to dive underwater and in skimming the water’s surface for prey. Making it an important tame in collecting resources and materials from the seas, oceans, rivers and skies of the Ark”. Abilities The Dearc has a 75% chance of activating the ability known as “Skewered!”, when in combat. This ability activates when the Dearc attacks an enemy, and its its teeth end up stuck in either an opposing player or tame's flesh, causing extreme bleeding, the injury effect and (a 25%) impaled effect. The ability lasts for 30 seconds, until either the Dearc is knocked off (causes a 50% of an impaled effect), it flies away, or when the Dearc is killed. This ability can be further enhanced, through increasing the attack damage of the Dearc. Increasing the amount of damage that is implied onto any enemies or threats that oppose the Dearc. The Dearc has a secondary ability known as “Aquatic Detection”, an ability that allows the player to guide there tamed Dearc (similar to that of a Scout from Extinction or an Exo-Mek in Genesis Part 2) towards a body of water, this will result in the Dearc giving off the location of any aquatic creatures in its proximity. This is due to the species relying heavily on its large eyes and eyesight, that were suited for locating fish and cephalopods, from the skies above. The Dearc also recieves a nocturnal boost at night, which increases its movement speed, attack damage and the radius of its ability "Aquatic Detection" by 10%. This is due to the speculated hunting behaviour of rhamphorhynchoidea pterosaurs such as Rhamphorhynchus. The Dearc has a collection rate of 60%, 70% or 80% (depending on its level) towards Chitin, Fish Meat, Keratin, Bio Toxin, Oil, and Hide with a 75% weight reduction. The Dearc has a 20% applied debuff that reduces the amount of energy it uses when in flight and/or when propelling through the water. Any suggestions and comments please reply below. This Post will be Updated Shortly. These are my team's suggestions, so all credit and reference goes to them. Thanks. - MonstersHunters
