  1. I believe it was the introduction of cats and rats to the island and then a huge storm..but I’m not fully positive.
  2. Just adding my ideas since we can’t link them. As long as this makes it in that’s what matters!!! There is very little known about the actual hippocampus slovencicus. Along with another species of extinct seahorse were found in the mountains only about 20 years ago. My idea would be for them to be a lot larger and able to be ridden. Body style wise, they would resemble almost like a sea serpent, dragon. I’ve thought about incorporating the seaweed body style of a sea dragon, but then my little sister wanted to draw it for me, and so her drawing is the basis for my idea. Behavior : I would love for these to be extremely useful under the water but also have limited use on land as well. In the wild they would swim around in schools of 3 to 5. They would receive a pack bonus while roaming together as well, whether tamed or wild. They are typically hostile when something gets too close, but become extremely hostile, and will chase anything that comes near their nest. they are extremely fast and armor, plated, and difficult to take down without proper precautions. On land, their mobility is restricted, but they make great turrets while latched onto pillars or structures with their prehensile tails. When tamed they can blow their smokescreen to tranquilize creatures wandering with in range. Taming : Egg stealing…yes i know we have seen this before but not underwater. And these things are FAST and TOUGH. You can’t just swoop in on an Itchy or a Shadow and speed away because they will out swim both without breaking a sweat. On top of that they are armored in bony plates like a knights steed. Mosas, Dunklos, etc. will have a tough time taking multiple of these at a time. Much like Gigas they will be dangerous to take on head up mostly because they run in schools of 3 to 5 members. But if you’re able to make it out with an egg or two it will be well worth it. Raising an egg after hatch will be only with narco berries. Did I forget to mention the nest are always surrounded by sea scorpions(eurypterids) making dismounting even more perilous. Utility : These will be underwater mounts, unlike anything the Arks have seen before. Fast and dangerous and covered in armor plates they would be exceptionally difficult to take down. While able to feed on fish they will be able to live off of narcoberries. This diet allows the Hippocampus to be able to blow a narcotic smokescreen into the surrounding waters. Survivors must be careful as they will not be a immune to this smokescreen themselves, and must have proper filtration in order to not be affected by the cloud. I’ve also though about the use of their prehensile tail as a way to destroy structures. Maybe wild ones like to wrap themselves around these and as such when people pillar widespread areas, they randomly find that these creatures destroy random pillars. The main purpose is to add life to the ocean. These would make it a lot more colorful, but also a lot more dangerous and more of a thrill to be underwater. As far as a saddle goals, I’m not sure if I want to have a real saddle or to be wrapped in the tail when mounted. If they were given a saddle, I thought about making it a chem bench sort of like the opposite to the equus saddle. I do know for a fact that I would love to see them be extremely colorful and vibrant. All kinds of multicolored patterns in regions to truly stand out in the oceans. Disclosure there is nothing in the rules disqualify me from posting two creatures. While I would love for this one to make it in, I did post another as this one would also fit beautifully on Genesis part one. I also had a few people specifically asked that this be put into the vote.
  3. Sorry man I just really wanted to stand out and have people to understand how cool it would be to see and hear this
  4. Dude, I literally just posted this a little while before you! I just want to know how to link my idea to yours so we can get a hippocampus voted up. If anybody knows how to help me link it, please do so so we can have more ideas added into this. Also, I just wanna promote my little sister’s drawing that she made for mine. Lol

  6. This is an animal I’m very passionate about and would love to see in game. It’s a Hawaiian bird that was native to the island of Kauai. Unlike most creatures submitted, this is one that went extinct extremely recently. The last female died in 1982 and her male partner was last heard in 1987. Nobody ever found the male, but there’s a recording on YouTube of him calling into the void, hoping that there was one more of the species alive, but they never answered back. The species was officially announced extinct in 1989 after an expedition turned up no clues of their existence. Diet: berries or keratin Temperament: docile likely to run when attacked Time Period: Holocene epoch(current) Behavior : The Kauai Ō’ō is a fascinating creature to behold in the wild. You will hear them long before you find them as their hauntingly beautiful call echos throughout the forests on the Center. Stories are told of a haunting, wailing of banshees on the floating island on the center. Curious survivors have learned that it is this bird of magnificent beauty and vocal possessions, making these sounds into the night . Ōō’s spend most of their time flying in and out of the canopies, calling out to each other in beautiful harmonies. It is near impossible to get the drop on them as the echo from their call reverberates off of any and all nearby creatures. It’s almost as if the frequency of their voices is in tune with the beat of the heart allowing them to always know exactly where anything is within a certain radius of their selves. This is most effective for them, when finding friends and mates from great distances away. While they are more likely to choose flight over fight They are capable of an extremely loud siren wail using this beautiful voice. It’s disorienting to even the largest of creatures, but doesn’t last very long. Taming : Taming an Ōō is a fun and simple matter. As they call out into the unknown all they want is to know there is someone out there calling back. A survivor that can not only find one, but also entice them with a beat and song of their own, will have made a great friend. The drums would make ok instruments to accompany their song and help them keep beat but something more melancholy and melodic would work better. Maybe a new item like a flute or ocarina to better mimic the haunting melody that they produce. Once a survivor has drawn in the attention of an Ōō you have to maintain the melody and match them putting on a beautiful duet. Be careful as this may be a beautiful show, but predators may be drawn into watch as well thinking it’s a dinner bell. Utility : I like the idea of a shoulder pet that can be easy to miss flying around enemy bases. Using parasaurs would be a hard counter in that case. But one the size of a desmodeous that can be a hard counter to wyverns or manas would be awesome as well. Here are ideas for both. As a shoulder pet: We all have lost a tame and spent time looking for them. These can be set to help you find tames almost like a tracker for tribe, owned creatures. I am even thinking with the idea of this working as a mating pair effect. You have to have one following the tame that you’re missing and the other one has to be the opposite sex and would use the call to look for that creature. It can even be a shoulder pet that can sit on your tames shoulder while the mate sits on your shoulder. Or you can use the flute/ocarina to communicate from a distance. The Ōō follows your tame and you use the instrument to call to it. As a rideable tame: As a large rideable tame they could be used to induce a deafening siren wail. This will disorient enemies, and enemy tames for a few seconds, they can either make it hard to move, or give an affect similar to drinking beer. This can also be used to knock flying and gliding tames out of the sky. They instantly drop and breath attacks like wyverns and manas would be disabled from the ensuing shriek. Playing the new item from on their back maybe can amplify the sound based attacks range. Both: Once tamed they can serve several reconnaissance purposes. Using their song they are able to sense the heartbeats of creatures, from vast distances. On PVE they can be used as not only a way to see creatures around you but also as transponders. On PVP they can be set to fly over enemy bases and ping how many enemies and tames are out in the open or hiding in buildings. Allowing raids to be more tactical or to help defend bases when you suspect somebody is lurking outside. Because it works off of heartbeats It is only limited to creatures that actually have beating hearts. Meks and striders would not be affected. Also, it would only have a certain depth into the water that it would be able to see.
  7. Amphibious Rock Climber Bioluminescent Alien Hardened War-ter Criminal Behavior : As the name suggests this is an enormous sea star with nine arms. They are comparable in size to a trike and easily can be ridden with a proper saddle. It is extremely curious using its nine arms to experience the world around them due to their eyes not being like ours. A moderate temperament the Sea-Star becomes aggressive when provoked or when it senses its favorite snack nameless venom. Once provoked it rears back displaying its rows of tube feet along each arm. These harden from their usual suction cup like appearance and become hard as steel. It’s alien like movements leave predators and attackers stunned as to what is happening before them giving openings to escape or strike first. Common creatures that feast on them are sarcos, karkinos, and if they can get the jump on them reapers. Taming : Sea-Stars are extremely graceful in the water but awkward messes on land. With out a proper access to hydration they dry out much like their real life counter parts. They seem to be able to be tamed if you can lure them out of the water and dry them out before refreshing them with water from a canteen or water skin. If a survivor can entice them with nameless venom or raw meat into a trap before they dry out it might make taming a lot easier and protect them from their chief predators Reapers Sarcos and Karkinos. Wild accessible to new survivors, veterans will find taming these an easier task with better access to canteens and tek canteens. Utility : Sea-Stars are bioluminescent and live a semi-amphibious life style. While graceful and alien like underwater they have a slow waddle on land. It can use its suction tubes on its arms to grip prey smaller than itself drawing them in to its mouth concealed on its underside. It’s suction cup tubes are its most versatile feature, they even go so far as being able to scale vertical walls to increase mobility. But beware being attacked while scaling walls. They cannot use the suction and properly defend themselves as their tubes must harden in order to deal damage. They are amazing at harvesting nameless venom and seem to drawn more out of them than other creatures. They also have the strange ability to detach one of their arms in an attempt to escape attacks. Having nine arms has its benefits and these guys can lose up to 5 of these arms at will distracting the would be attack long enough for them to vanish. Sadly this also slows down an already slow movement speed which can be deadly but especially on land for these guys. They grow back over time but it’s not the fastest process and takes a minute or two to gain all 5 again. Dossier : Wild : The Nine Armed Sea-Star is a magnificent creature to view in its natural habitat. Extremely graceful and alien like under water they ebb and flow through the waves of oceans and lakes and mesmerize prey with them bioluminescence and ballet like movements. Although rare they will venture on dry land if they sense an easy meal such as their favorite nameless and their ultra rare venom. Due to their awkward gait while walking they must ambush to do this and an unaware survivor can easily be mistaken for dinner when caring something it wants. Their tube like appendages can go from their sticky suction cups to sharp talons and back at will and make short work of any unsuspecting prey. Domesticated : A tamed Sea-Star can make a handy companion to any survivor able to make them an ally. Underwater they move with a surprising quickness and can evade even the deadliest predator with ease. New survivors may be especially keen to tame one as they have a fantastic ability to climb vertical walls and project a beauty light to ward of creatures of the dark. While they are prone to drying out in the fresh air of land I suspect they can be kept hydrated with a proper saddle. Their discarded legs that grow back after some time would make an excellent basis for the frame work as the hardened bone like limbs are impossible to break. With a little metal and a canteen of water the saddle may keep them hydrated long enough to traverse the abberation zones with little worry of drying out.
  8. I was actually thinking Genesis in the ocean biome. But the idea in general needs exposure.
  9. Introducing the Underwater Equus/Procoptodon The Hippocampus or more common known as the seahorse will be an extremely fast mount underwater. Its main use is an underwater chem bench when wearing a saddle as well as a mobile tranq gun. They passively make bio toxin concentrated from their favorite meal narcoberries that they can then shoot ethier in a cloud or as a projectile dart that deals torpor to its target. They can only make/use a finite amount of bio toxin unless equipped with a saddle in which they can store extra taken off of jellyfish in the surrounding ocean. Tusos, Eels, as well as jellyfish are immune to this torpor dealing blasts and as such are the only predators of the Hippocampus They have an apprehensible tail and are able to grab onto structures and deal damage to pillars. This tail also carries a poison tip that they whip at attacking creatures or in defense of young/eggs. Males much like procoptodon have a pouch that babies can receive a imprinting boost. Adults maybe have camoflauge or invisibilty? Taming is egg stealing but they lay their eggs in areas surrounded but deep sea scorpions and the parents are never very far away. Be careful what you bring to escape as even in the wild these are very fast tames and will gain on you in the blink of an eye. Babies can only eat naroberries until they are adolescents and then are able to digest fish like adults. Like their real life counterparts they go through food extremely fast and must eat constantly as they grow!
