You give yourself too much credit

I'm not giving myself any credit.  Just saying your ignorance led to this discussion not my post.

Laughable  You're now stooping to assumptions.  I have full grown children.  Nice try.

Still, if you are inbetween breeding cycles, you should have prepared any events that might happen.

Wrong.  You can't prepare for a patch that doesn't have a time associated with it.   When I left for work there was no patch.  There was no timer.  I worked 12 hours that day.  While I was at work they pushed the patch.  Nice try.  Simply put you're just trolling now.  If you're going to actually do it you should try harder.  It's tiresome constantly showing your lack of understanding.

Oh wait ... I'm some little kid and I don't work right???

Any downtime, the server stops and the world stops. You prepare for the fact that any breeding attempt might fail.

Again you're not grasping the issue.  I'm not talking about the down time that the timer isn't running.  I'm talking about the amount of time it takes to download the patch after the server is back up.  If there was a 1 hour buffer in there, the server was down for 15 minutes and it takes 2 hours to download the patch, you're minus 75 minutes.  Your baby will not survive 75 minutes with no food.

Especially when big patches are rolled out.

736 was an impromptu patch.  We didn't breed around big patches.  That's stupid and again you're just steering off topic.  We knew that the big patch was going to be an issue and held off.  736 on the other hand had no actual ETA and was thrown out there.

After all, this is just a alpha.

Just because it's an alpha doesn't mean that there shouldn't be a modicum of communication from the company to its customers.  This isn't just some random rant from some little kid who's mad about a glitch.  This is a planned patch that should be communicated.  Not a 15 minute message broadcast or a tweet on twitter that says the patch is through QA and here it comes.  Let people know that you're planning on taking servers down.  They knew it was coming.  Should have been communicated better.

Don't try to make smartass remarks to me.

First, I didn't try.  I succeeded.  Second, I'm not controlled by you.  I'll make whatever type of comment I deem necessary. Finally, You don't like it?  That's a you problem.  You quoted me ... I didn't quote you.

I did not take into account you were just playing on a console.

Ignorance isn't an excuse.  If you're not sure what someone's referring to then don't respond.  You chose to respond.  I think the words you're looking for here are "My bad.  You're right that's kind of messed up how they did that.  Us PC players had ample time to prepare."  Instead you assumed something you knew nothing about, and then you're upset I called you on it.  It's cute how it's my fault you responded to my comment about my game regarding how the game patch affected my gameplay and you're mad at me.  Cute.  Cute indeed.

    Nice try though.

    Thanks.  I do try.

This patch was announced  long ago

No it wasn't.  No one knew about the patch being added for 736 coming out.  Nice try though.

    Xbox Patch 736!

Don’t worry guys! It’s been submitted and it’s currently going through QA/Certification! As soon as we know the status of it, we will let you know and roll the patch out. We are very grateful your patience and as soon as we can your games will be updated with the latest fixes from the patch! To check out the full-notes, you can head to our patch-notes thread:

I'm a little frustrated at the way this patch was wheeled out.  We're in the middle of a breeding cycle.  I work during the day and heard nothing about a patch being released.  Then I get home to try and rush and feed the baby dinosaurs before they die and what do I find .... another patch.  20GB of content in a week.  It would be nice to get a bit more notice here especially considering that the game itself is an online real time environment.

I'm curious.  If the patch download causes our tribe to not get on in time, is this something that can be restored?  Or are we just SOL?

Thank you for the effort! :D that clears it up a bit more for me. I really thought it was gna be on the West coast area originally. Appreciate people willing to help others

One of my closest friends is color blind.  So I know his struggles.  It's the best I could do quickly so you get a better idea at least.

As a Valhalla dev, I can tell you that we have not been approached by wildcard with any official mod information, so may just be best to choose one of the two official ones as announced now :)

Man ... just burst my bubble .....

Per the creator of the center its 20-40%, and that looks about right in the dev kit.

I'm trying to wrap my mind around this though.  Is this surface area that's bigger or the "caves" that add that 20-40% and that's where they're making up ground?

Both your points sound fair enough to me :)

And sorry I actually have very little knowledge on the new map and im trying to keep it that way to make exploration a bit more fun. I do know that it is definitely a good amount larger than the current map though.

Yeah I only know what I see in videos since I've only played this game on XB1.

Maybe a democratic vote? Or dictate it, either ones good.

It was a democratic component.  The reason for those questions were surrounded in what would be best.  If everyone leaves to chase those new maps then the "premium" areas on the map might open up allowing us to have a greater presence in an area we would like to have on the map.

As for Valhalla we all just like that map so much.  The Center map is nice and all but we just like Valhalla more.

@EvilChaosDX I've seen conflicting reports regarding the size of the new Center map.  I've seen 20-40% do you know if that's accurate?

Completely agree with you. The change of map will be nice.

I'm looking forward to seeing what else will be released onto xbox in the future.

Our entire alliance has been having a massive discussion regarding this entire mod project and how it will change the game.

    • Should we move to a new map?
    • Should we stay because everyone else will chase the new map?
    • Will it hit PC first and then hit XBox?
    • Do we wait for them to bring Valhalla?

It's been explained why numerous times...

You can blame Microsoft directly for Xbox not getting holiday content, because it costs wildcard a MINIMUM of $10k for every patch they release. It's also the reason they release patches in "bundles" on xbox. I wouldn't do it either, and don't blame them one bit. Once Microsoft decides to let companies release patches for free, you might be able to see things like this...(steam does not have this same practice)

Don't like it, give Bill Gates a call.

Most of their money...what a joke.

Not saying I don't believe you but I'd love to read up on that.  It's the first I've heard of a company paying to patch content.

I put in a link in the post, have a look at the line after the one you quoted :)

I don't see a link to the website you're referring to.  I see a link to the downloaded software, but nothing online.  The reason that I am looking for an online version is so that my tribe mates and I can all see the necessary information.  I'd prefer that it not be a black box of information that only I contain.

    Hope that makes sense.
