  1. I would think other players are destroying your base structures, but based on what you said, is it not showing that in tribe log?
  2. PS4 - Unofficial Server On Monday the flag color changed on the cluster, so last night I was transferring to my base on each map to update to the current flag color. When I got to my RAG base, I noticed that my Thylas and Rexs were all out of order. And it was obvious that they had found something, and were now farther away from my base than they should be. this surprised me, because these dinos were in a dino leash containment zone, and the zone was surrounded by plant X turrets. Notice this was worded in Past Tense. All of my dino leashs and plant x turrets were gone! I checked the tribe log, and all of them had "auto-decayed" the previous day. (Tuesday), yet I was just at the base on Sunday, so how could they have decayed in 72 hours, when they have been fine for 3 months prior, including me not logging on for 5-6 days at a time. I can only assume this was some weird bug, and best I can tell, I only lost a couple of my Thylas. So I'm guessing it was an alpha that spawn and was kited into my base area. On this cluster, the admins give plant X turrets that hit for 32k each shot, they do this to help reduce lag, and tell people not to build huge walled/gated bases. It normally works great, but in the case of this autodecay bug, it sucks. Anywhoooo, I spent the rest of the night getting the dinos back in order, cryopodding some for safety, and redoing the dino leashes and turrets. I also added some regular turrets and loaded them with ammo, as back up. Because I have been spending the majority of my time on Extinction and Valguerro, I think tonight I will go back to RAG, and cryopod or transfer (to Val) most of the dinos. I can then also reduce my "land claim" area on RAG, as I won't need it for the high number of dinos I originally had. (Rag was my Rex breeding base originally, but will move them to VAL) My small base on the Island map only has a couple Ptera and a few cryo'd dinos. It is small and takes up very little land. My base on Scorched is literally a 4x4 base with a bed an storage. And my base on Aberration is larger more of a 6x15 size, but is way off the beaten path, and no one else is even near me. I only have a couple ravagers and Pteras parked inside the base, and a couple tek stegos parked on the roof. I have a base on each map, because of the lost character bug. To get around that, I actually have a toon on each map, so I need a base to house them safely. Though when I logged into SE last night, a Pego was attacking my character who was lying in bed, and it had already killed my Jerboa. Apparently Pegos can get thru open windows. I was not aware they could do that, but there is no other way they got inside the tiny base.
  3. PS4 - Unofficial Cluster Spent the majority of my time on Extinction. Went back to the snow biome to try and tame any Owls leftover from the weekend Easter event on the map. Sadly, only found 1 colored Owl, as it seems everyone else was looking for owls too. But I did find a couple more high level MegaSloths, and also while not planning on it, kept getting attacked by leftover colored manas. I was able to trap and tame 5-6 different colored ones, including yellow, mint, brown, and orange ones. Now to just breed them with my high level manas, to get the color on better level manas.
  4. Haven you considered just mass printing a sympathy letter. I'm guessing it will save you a lot of time. "Dear Mrs. Parasaur Ryan, I'm writing to you today, to let you know of the valiant way your son died in battle today. Seems we had a little communication error, and your son ran left, when I said right, and well..... he dead. But in now way, shape or form, am I as his commanding officer to be blamed. He just wouldn't follow directions. ........
  5. PS4 - Unofficial cluster Well last night the 2nd in command Admin on the cluster retired. I'm feeling more guilty about saying no to the admin offer, but I will just make sure to set a good example by being a patient and helpful player, and assist noobs when the admins aren't on. This weekend was a Easter color event on Extinction and Valentines on Island. So naturally I spent most of Saturday taming owls in the snow biome. I know it is kind of cheating, but I tamed up a event owl that had the last Cyan zone that I had been missing for a month. Was able to breed that zone in on Sunday, and now have a breeding pair of solid Cyan owls. On Saturday evening, the admins had a paint party on Ragnarok. Every paint party I've attended before on servers, the dinos had to be either unbreedable (wyverns/Griffins) or neutured/spayed. But that wasn't a rule this time. So I took a breeding pair of my identical max level owls, and had them painted all albino white in every zone. I figured with all white breeders going forward, the color mutations will really stand out when hatched. (My current max level breeders all have brown shoulders, grey wings and white chest and stripes.) Not wanting to take the fun out of breeding for colors in the future with other dinos, I only had a wyvern and a Griffin painted beside the breeder owls. I had my fire wyvern painted black in the body and then blaze orange in the wings and belly. Looks AWESOME. I also had a Griffin painted black body with neon green wings and chest. My buddy who already had the vast majority of Gigas in color mutations, had them make him an all black giga, and then he spent the weekend breeding up color mixes on the Island taking advantage of the event timer bonus. I managed to tame a event owl that is Chocolate brown everywhere but the chest, which is more of a caramel brown. I think I have a chocolate chest owl in cryo, so I should be able to make a solid chocolate soon. I tamed an owl that had a slightly different red (watermelon) in its chest, and a lighter yellow wings than my yellow solid, so looks like I have more colors to breed to all solid. I then spent most of my ARK time on Sunday building the main house base on Valguerro in my new location, and then moving supplies/dinos from the old base location to the new one. Thankfully the distance between the two is not far, but it is over water, so I had to cryo all the dinos for transport. So for most of the evening, I had about 50 sleeping rexs, allos, yutys, wyverns, manas and Rock Drake. It was a weird sound to try and build with a constant barrage of "zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" ringing thruout my base. I still have to build a breeding/storage barn or two for the larger dinos, but the main house is done, and 85% of the supplies & items transferred over from old base. I sure hope that there are some event dinos still alive on Extinction tonight, as I want a few more color options, and I need to find a high level colored MegaSloth to breed to my max level brown female. My buddy wants to try them in a cave with a lot of Arthos. By the way, my new buddy that got hooked on Owls had to crypod a bunch on Sunday, as he reached his tame limit, and it is 99% just owls. LOL, he is addicted just like me.
  6. Well..... based on your track record, "Goner" seems appropriate! lol
  7. IS it possible you uploaded them items into the wrong section of the OB? There are 3 tabs item, dinos, and tributes. Perhaps you loaded them into the Tribute section byb mistake?
  8. PS4 - Unofficial Cluster Wasn't able to get on until later than normal last night. Last Friday I made a new friend on the Extinction map, and he was impressed by the colored Owl i had flown over to his base. At the time, he had 4 owls at his base, 3 vanilla colored, and 1 mix of pink, red and cyan, that is the same kind that everyone on the cluster has, and they have like 20,000 mutations on them. He asked if he could breed to my all Blue owl, and I told him that I don't give away or sell my solid color owls or eggs. But if he wanted to breed up his own solid color one, he should follow me to my base, and I would give him some of my event colored wild tames, that had 1-2 zones of event color on them, and he could put in the work, to get a solid color one. He was cool with that, so I ended up give him 4-5 grown owls, plus 6-8 eggs from other various partially colored one. In return, he gave me a pair of twins m-f max level owls. I tell him I am currently trying to breed up an all Black, an all cyan, and an all mint green owl. Along with finishing my all orange owl. He and I then played and bred a ton of owls on Saturday and Sunday. as well as nearly each night this week. Last night, I log on, and he texts me in chat, tells me to stop by his base. So I swing by, and he last at least 85 Owls sitting around his base, plus a whole breeding barn full ( he had asked me about my barn set up, and really liked it. and actually he modified my design, and I like his modification even better) But he had dozens of colored owls, including a FULL BLACK owl! He told me he got 3 zones of black mutation in one night, so he spent the next day on combining them and finally got it to be solid. He also go an totally different orange than what I have, plus a Forest Green, that I don't have, and a dark dark red. I told him that RNG had blessed him with so many color mutations in such a short time. Meanwhile I hatched about 100 eggs last night, and got only 3 color mutations, 2 of which I already had. The 3rd is a wing stripe, and I'm not sure if I have one in Cryo with that already or not. There are rumors of a color event running on Extinction this week on my cluster, and if so, I will be a taming fool all weekend, as I am always looking for more colors. In the meantime, I've had to cryo most of my other dinos and finished owls, as my owl breeding barn now had 8 males and 60+ females all identical. I'm a believer that you get an increased chance of color mutations, if you breeding similar or identical looking parents.
  9. PS4 - unofficial cluster So I was asked to become an admin on the cluster recently, and I was honored, and going to accept, but then after doing my due diligence, and talking to 1/2 dozen former and current admins, it became clear that becoming an admin takes away all the enjoyment of playing ARK. And currently I am having a blast, and really don't want to screw that up. Sure it is selfish of me, as the cluster needs more admins, but I just don't want for ARK to become another job. With my back injury and health issues a couple years ago, I am no longer to enjoy many of the outdoor activities that I used to, so much of my evenings and weekends now involve ARK. I don't want to mess with that enjoyment now. WHo knows, maybe in 6 months, I will get kind of stagnant in the game, and being an admin will give me a new direction within the game. But for now, I will just continue to be a player. As a player, I continued breeding my owls for mutations. Last night, I got a different shade of red on the back, royal blue shoulder, as well as Olive chest, and rust colored shoulder mutations. My buddy got a smokey gray/black chest as well as back mutations. On Monday, I got an orange mutation which at the time I believed I already had. But after transferring it to my base on the center where my Orange and Black mutation owls are. (I intentionally have not kept all of my owls on the same map, in case of a server crash/wipe.) once I compared it to my other orange owls, I can see it is yet a 3rd orange color. So I have more work ahead of me to get an all orange in the same shade. I also found a new spot on Valguerro with plenty of room to build a new base and breeding barn. There currently is a tiny starter base there, and the times will end tomorrow, and considering the base was built in metal, means the people have not been on in a long time. Knowing this, I went ahead and started building all around the allowed edge of their base. So Friday when it decays, I can start my barn build. Fingers crossed they don't come back at the last second and refresh. When I returned to my original base, I see that two event colored rexs were attacking my base and dinos, all of which were on passive. It seems they passed thru an unknown blind spot in my turrets. So I had to kill them, as they were badly hurting one of my Colored Yutys. Too bad, because one of them was a super cool blue body. I will continue to transfer over dinos to the new base location tonight if I get a chance.
  10. Just enjoy the game the way you want to, and at your own pace. After getting my head kicked in on Official PvP when I first bought the game, I switched to single player, and stayed there for nearly 2 years. Only going back online in January of this year. I play on unofficial PvE, and I love it. I play solo tribe, because trolls still like to inside people, even in PvE. But I have made some friends that we trade dinos, breedings, and party chat when playing at the same time. It has been fun, and I'm glad For my experience on single player, as it allows me to get along well online, without having to call out for help in chat every 2 minutes. I would also recommend the phone app Dododex, as it contains great info to help with taming, making kibble and dyes, etc.
  11. Yeah do last night the Extinction server in my Kluster went kaplooey! The only thing they could do to get it back was to do a 25 hour rollback. So basically over 50% of my weekend work was rolled back.
  12. PS4 - Unofficial cluster I played a ton this weekend, mostly focusing on breeding my Owls for more color mutations. I went back into my cryo fridges and realized I had a bunch of owls that had the brick red color in a zone or two. Spent the majority of the day breeding them, and I now have a breeding pair with all brick red Except the stripe. I spent a bunch of time trying to breed in a stripe I thought was the same brick red. But once it took, it was clear that it was too bright to be brick red. Got a pair of twin M-F vanilla colored owls at max level, so I have been breeding them like crazy to swap out with my other non colored breeders, so that I can hopefully get the color mutations on babies with good stats. Spent Sunday breeding those, and got 3 color mutations out of about 400 eggs hatched, But all three were colors I already had, and in zones I already had.
  13. Maybe you can have some areas that grow veggies on the map like Rag does in the highlands? Like a small "oasis" area, that people cannot build on, but the temp is right for veggie plants to spawn?
  14. Stats seem to indicate that the majority of players are PvE .... so maybe they should focus on making sure the game favors those players instead. ?
  15. Welcome to the thread! I'm pretty sure on official, there are currently limits on transferring out of Valguerro. I play unofficial, so not 100% sure of this, but I believe that is the issue you are facing.
  16. Glad you found some chitin! I too am guilty of mass culling of inferior owls in the snow biome. And then when a high level finally spawns, it picks a fight with 5 mammoths, 12 wolves and a mana. All I can do is watch, because everytime I try to get in the battle to save the owl, the stupid owl seems to swoop in just as I am attacking a bad dino. The result is always a snow owl death message. The wild ones are sooooo squishy!
  17. Server sound Awesome! and for the last part .... you are my hero!
  18. PS4 - UNoffcial Cluster Spent most of the night on the Rag map. Fiddling with my base some more, and moving some more dinos from old base to new. Kind of a mess currently, as I'm just kind of parking the dinos inside the leash radius. I hit some drops and noticed 2 event colored 406 level (max is 420) Allos, both female, so tamed them up and brought them over to my buddy who loves allows. I let him breed the females, and he gave me two high level wyvern eggs, as he had just run the wyvern scar. Sadly neither was event colored, but they are both good levels and will be usable for sure. He wants to breed to my new Tek Quetz, so he will probably just park the female at my base, and let me breed up a bunch of eggs for him. We talked a bit and got caught up (we haven't played at the same time for a week) then we both went over to Valguerro, and we discovered that his base is very close to mine. In fact I found a spot that is bigger and flatter than my current spot, and is closer to his base. I may try to re-located there, but part of me remembers that I intentionally built where I am on Val, as it forces me to stay smaller, and considering my main 2 bases are on Rag & Ext, do I really need another large base? Next thing I realize, it is 11:46, and I have to get up at 6am. So I log off and hit the hay.
  19. PS4 - Unofficial Cluster I worked from home yesterday, so I was able to play over my lunch break, and then again right after 5pm, as I didn't have to worry about my normal 71 mile commute. So with the extra time, I really got a lot done yesterday. My primary base is on Ragnarok, along the Beaver streams south of the Green OB. When I first joined the cluster this area was pretty well populated with bases. But over the last 2+ months, some of those bases have been removed due to decay/inactivity. So I recently I decided to move just bit down the way, as there is a larger section available now. My old base and the beginnings of my new base are just on the edge of rendering from each other, so not far to move, but still it has been time consuming and boring. I've moved all of the big dinos (rexs, Tek rexs, giga, wyverns, Velanosaurs, Thylas) and cryopoded a lot of the others. I've got my owls, ptera and Tapejaras parked on the roof. But I feel like now I should build a large barn next to the base to hold the medium sized dinos, and to double as a breeding area. I'm torn. part of me wants to build it, but I don't want to add to lag, by making a big building. So for now, I'm just lining up the dinos inside a large dino leash surrounded by plant x turrets. Eventually I got bored, and needing a break, I went off in search of some more event colored thylas in the stone desert area. After killing and clearing out all of the thyla spawns, I finally got a few event color spawns, but they were all either copies of what I already had, or as is the case of the beautiful neon yellow thyla, engaged in battle when they rendered, and before I could even get set up, they were killed by their enemies. I then decided to fly over to my buddies base along the east side of the desert, south of the Red OB. He has been going crazy with his Deiny breeding, and has 5-6 color mutations already, plus the magenta one from the eggs I gave him. But he was offline (both of my two best "friends" on this cluster are in time zones 2 hours behind me, so we don't overlap much, unless I stay up late.) So I took off to do a fly around the map, as I really have been spending a lot of time on Extinction at my owl breeding base, or on my new Valguerro base. I noticed a few big bases are gone, including two guys who did a ton of breeding and selling on the cluster. Too bad, as they had some good dino lines. As I enter the redwoods not far from the Red OB, I notice a Quetz flying nearby. It is a 406 level (max level for normal dinos is 420 on this cluster) so this is a high level, and a male. I already have a high level female, and a low level colored male, but this male will be a better mating partner I'm sure. So after a few attempts to dino gate it, as it flew low across the ground, I am attacked and unseated from my owl by a thyla. After fighting it off, and re-grouping, I find the Quetz "flying" in place in a waterfall. I quickly dino gate it, and then fearing it may drown when KO's I craft up some stone foundations, and layer the area below him with them. Then I tame his up, and the foundations worked perfectly! I cryo the Quetz, and start to fly off again on my owl, when I noticed flashing blue out of the corner of my eye. I turn and look, a TEK QUETZ! (I love TEK dinos, and prefer them over their normal counter parts) I check and it is a level 470! Which I believe is the highest or very close to the highest for Tek dinos on this cluster. and so begins my 1 hour saga in my quest to tame the Tek quetz. - more thyla attacks - terror birds attacks - wayward wyvern attack - pissed off megatherium attack - dismounting from owl midflight and falling to death (I had accidently transferred my element to his inventory earlier, and my tek suit ran out) nearly an hour later, hope seems to be lost, as the Quetz has vanished, when I lost sight of it during one of my mishaps. As I begin flying back to my base, I see a neon green horse just begging to be tamed (my buddy loves neon green dinos) so I tame the horse, but not before it nearly runs me into a pack of allos. One of those allos is a event colored masterpiece of cyan, pink and bright green. so I eventually tame it too. With all the new dinos cryopoded, the owl and I are flying home, when there it is! The Tek Quetz. And it is flying low across the water. I wait until it gets on land, and I try to dino gate it, but it just walks up and over them!? However he soon duplicates the error the regular quetz made earlier, and amazingly, flies right into a waterfall, and hovers there. this time I dino gate him in and once again place foundations underneath him to prevent drowning. A few close calls waiting for it to tame up, as a carno and wolve came flying down from above, but thankfully agro'd on me, and I managed to perfect tame! Finally back at the new base, I added the new guys to the group, and then logged off for the night.
  20. The south side of the Sanctuary City as it turns into the wastelands, has a ton of scorpions and spiders. I take a Thyla or Megatherium with a couple raptor body guards, and farm up Chitin quite quickly.
  21. We had the same thinking only 15 years ago. Some of the highest deer numbers in the state for decades. But in the last 5-7 years, the deer are vanishing, and the wolves are killing everything they can.
  22. Thanks, but don't get me wrong, I love seeing the deer on my property, but I also love venison. So in order for me to enjoy both, I need to help when I can to make the local herd healthy and sustainable. Sadly the timberwolves overpopulated, are doing MASSIVE damage in my state, and has greatly reduced the deer (and pet dog) population.
  23. We had similar days in real life. My Sunday, I got up early and drove up north to my land. Last week my brother-n-law and I had mowed and weed sprayed some sections of land. So Sunday I went back and overseeded most of it, as it is supposed to rain today. Hopefully it grows well, as the few deer we have left (the timberwolves are killing them almost daily) really need the food source. As we are big woods country and the local farmers were mostly unable to get crops in this spring due to flooding. By the time I returned home, I was covered in dust/dirt/bug spray/seeds. Which complimented my sunburned fore arms, neck and face. My eyes were bright red from allergies, and I looked totally baked. Took my second shower of the day (how did I get seeds there?) and relaxed on the couch with ARK the rest of the afternoon/evening.
  24. PS4 - Unofficial Cluster You may remember my post a couple weeks back about a guy who was stealing eggs while I was breeding up dinos. The guy would swoop in and take them while I was standing there, and since it is PvE, not really much I can do. So on Saturday I was on Valguero, when this guy joins the map. So in chat, I call out to him, that I'm not breeding anything on this map, so no eggs to steal today. He then posts a couple of things mocking me, and so I say "whatever thief", and I planned on dropping the subject. But then this guy says in chat, "Dude, don't breed your dinos out in the open if you don't want your eggs stolen. I do this to everyone" Well there were 3 Admins on the map playing at the time. without me saying a word more, I see the following Admin " hey (thief) what eggs are you taking?" Thief " any egg I can find, if they are out on the open I grab them" Admin " Dude, this is a PvE server, stealing eggs from people while they are breeding is against the rules" "You're banned" ... and poof bye goes the D-Bag thief! Too funny that the idiot got himself banned by talking in public chat about how big of a d-bag he is. The rest of my time, I spent mostly on VAL & Rag, as the cluster had color events going on those two maps. I tamed up about 10 colored high level Yutys, and a few Thylas and Rexs. I got a super high level Tek Rex egg, and it hatches as a male, which is great, because I had 2 max level females, but only low level males. I will now work on breeding up a Boss army. I continued to work on my Owl breeding, and managed to get my all Light Blue owl line to finally finish. I got a purple wing mutation along the way, and already had a purple stripe and purple back mutations from earlier, so I will try to get a an all Purple owl as well. I gave away a all Pink owl to one of the admins, and an all Blue to another admin. I neutured them first, and the admins were fine with that. They just liked the owls. On Sunday evening I was back on Extinction, as that is my main breeding barn/base, and I have been breeding up a Deiny army to help me with element veins. I have been giving eggs from my pair of Admin spawned higher than server setting level Deinys ( I won in a contest on the server the week before) I have been giving eggs to my two friends on the cluster. Well on Sunday one of them hatched a Magenta color mutation from one of the those eggs, and it was a male. So he transferred over to extinction and let me breed that male to my 6 breeding females. I got 5 Magenta babies, including a nice mix of the Magenta and the purple from the mom. Then before logging off, I decided to fly around Extinction to see if the scumbag thief had a base on the map, since that was the map he kept stealing eggs from me on. I covered pretty much all of the city, and the desert, as I was heading to the underground forest, I noticed something out in the wastelands. it was the remants of a base. but everything was decayed, except for the 2 vaults, a Tek Replicator, chem bench and indy forge. they were all "Demolish Allowed" so I went ahead and did so. I managed to get nearly 500 element from one vault and a ton of Tek gear. in the other vault was a TON of rockets used by the MEK. Which I just happened to win a level 630 MEK in this week's admin held contest. So very cool! At this point I was so weighed down, that my Owl could barely fly, so we flew back to base, and I called it a night.
