  1. Lost island I believe. There's a section of the map in a swamp that overlooks an Aztec themed set of pyramids near that spot if I remember correctly
  2. I cut a portion of the statement via quote selection because I took issue with the fact that you would assume me a liar merely because you misunderstood the nature of my statement. Furthermore I specifically mentioned unofficial because it should be pretty obvious that single player is a mode that you can't fine tune as you would a server you rent and can access the files to. I was operating under the assumption that you'd glean that and thus it could remain as an unspoken understanding of how the game modes work. But enough wasting our time on the matter. I've said my piece and I'm certain the mods get sick of watching me blather on whenever I crop up. Have a good day.
  3. That would require I be implying such things to begin with. I said either adjust whatever you have going on accordingly so you have the time to make use of the event (that being EVO, not the holiday stuff) or accept that it isn't an option and either go to or create a server with boosted rates if the rate at which gathering or breeding is unsatisfactory. I would ask that you actually read my standpoints before attempting to pick them apart and insinuate I'm lying. As an aside, in unofficial you can have the holiday events last as long as you please if you know what to mess around with whilst fiddling with the settings. I leave my cluster on the Easter event whenever no other event is active.
  4. Then by all means scream to the heavens. But do so with the intent of making the game better, not for personal gain as some seem to have made a habit of doing. People should demand fixes and patches when a cc comes out, not events that speed up rates because they among the thousands of players didn't have the time to capitalize on the event or simply lack the gumption to play official in its official state. Don't demand the free small fry, demand that the burger be fixed. Or else the real problem will never be addressed.
  5. Not necessarily. If the baseline product worked as intended or at least did as advertised then legally they're safe. If you can establish a paper trail leading back to the product's inception and prove it was faulty from the get go THEN you have the basis for the case, elsewise the producer can potentially shift the argument a more defensible point to weasel out of the key issue being addressed. Law's a slippery thing like that. I mean just look at CD projekt red and the horrid mess that was cyberpunk for an example of how game developers can escape the proverbial gallows.
  6. You're well within your rights to abstain from the product at that point, but again keep in mind that the complementary service is not mandatory. Further still it's likely that the product providers will likely begin to refuse the complimentary service out of sheer spite if they receive a hostile enough reaction or are simply just nagged about it too often.
  7. I mentioned in a post on the previous page that bugs should absolutely be ironed out. Defects in a paid for product should not be tolerated. Sticking with your analogy you don't go to the McDonald's after they mess up your burger, and scream at them to fix it AND throw in a large fry if it isn't expressly listed in their rules that they will compensate you for a failing. Is it good customer service to do it even if they don't have to? Yep. But always remember they still don't have to.
  8. What I offer is not a shut down of criticism, it's an answer to an easily avoidable problem. Whether it's the intended method is irrelevant to the fact that there's a playerbase acting as if it's necessary to their ability to play the game. Either make do with what you can or move on to greener pastures. Screeching like a speared hog because the rates aren't adjusted when you want them to be won't fix a problem that is, at the end of the day, YOUR problem
  9. Then they adjust accordingly or don't play on official. I balance college and a job and still find time.
  10. Asking for a fix is absolutely okay. The game has flaws, the flaws need to be ironed out. Asking (more like petulantly demanding really) EVO events every single CC is just asinine. People consistently howl for the events and take offense when they don't happen as they please.
  11. You aren't owed an EVO event purely because they've nothing to really report on in something they post weekly.
  12. Then people would whine that it takes too long to get information. Its a damned if you do damned if you don't situation. Regardless though there will still be a cavalcade of entitled children screeching about not getting an EVO event every weekend while ignoring the unofficial servers because their pride won't let them drop official for some reason. I've worked with mules less stubborn than the people here I swear.
  13. Last time they had dossiers prepared for the top two contenders because they were so closely tied and the vote lasted for a longer period (at least if I recall correctly). That said the hype was also far bigger because this was the first time the player base had an active say in what we got so there's also a chance they had skeletons of dossiers prepared for all ten contenders when the voting was at its height.
  14. Not all games are easy. Not all games are going to be a relaxing walk in the park. Look at the soulsborne series, look at the original monster hunter, look at the less forgiving maps in Ark. Is it a job? Lol, god no. But it's not meant to be a cake walk. And ah yes, the community. The community of pillar spamming beach bob hunting savages that like to block off vital resources and obelisks and seem to adore trying to make it nigh impossible to play. The community on official is as much as cesspit on official as it is unofficial and it's the rare or dedicated server that avoids that. In addition to playing official I run an unofficial cluster that's been up for years and while a majority of the community I've built is quite pleasant to be around and have been with my cluster for most of those years there will always be those that try to bring the worst aspects of the game into an otherwise peaceful society. With those sorts though I have the luxury of being able to either course correct the bad actors or boot them if they refuse to play ball and act like decent people. As for the matter of time wasting I've got nothing but time to waste, there's a blizzard outside of my home snowing everyone in.
  15. Imagine thinking this is an actual issue in a game all about grinding and surviving on basically scraps until you've put in enough work to take what you want no questions asked. You pay lip service to the essence of ark but then turn around and whine about something that flies in the face of that very essence. If you don't want hard work then play unofficial. Look at it this way: would you take a construction job if you were adversed to having to lift heavy things and heights or would you take the cushy desk job that offers more pay in a safe insulated ground floor office? Think man, THINK.
  16. Except the crux of the original issue here is people mewling at not having boosted rates every CC. Should actual game breaking issues be fixed? Absolutely; but you are in no way owed a nonessential asset. It isn't defending a company to point out that the alternative option that may have what you desire (this being higher rates) is exactly a mouse/controller scroll and maybe two button clicks away.
  17. See, I know this wasn't directed at any group in particular but as a long time warframe hosta- I mean player, that stung a bit, lol.
  18. Please defer to the image posted thusly. Well what would you have suggested? The ideas posted seemed pretty well geared for pvp.
  19. If you want (not need mind you; want) a buff to resources and breeding that badly then don't play official, find a unofficial server with rate boosts to your liking or rent one. There's practically no reason at all to sit around being angry that a game company isn't constantly handing out something that literally is not required for game functionality in the slightest. You have the tools at your disposal to exit the situation you find unfavorable, use them. Seriously, watching you guys harp on this all the time is like watching someone get mad that the supermarket's not selling the exact amount of ground beef you want when there's a butcher shop that sells by the pound right next door.
  20. This. I watch a dude on youtube who does some pretty neat animations for his gaming videos and the amount of time and effort it takes for him to get even a second of animation done borders on mindnumbing. Dude routinely has 12+ hour streams over the course of DAYS to make things look good and animate smoothly and realistically for clips that very rarely exceed three minutes in length. Keep in mind the guy does it for skits and bits and is using preestablished models that aren't being made to function too differently, the effort it takes to retool a model for actual usage in a game and not just to spice up a video is likely far more in depth. You don't just supersize an existing model and huck in a different animation like it's no big deal; you have to go from the ground up. Skeleton rig work (yes they could and likely will use a wyvern skeleton admittedly but they have to account for size variation, this thing will likely be no bigger than a griffin), animation reworks (an onyc rework would require a landing, walking, attacking, feeding, level up and if the abilities are added, a grappling and climbing animation as they're pretty static as they are now), accounting for environmental interaction to avoid meshing and clipping or the thing going full dying ankylosaur on us with every movement. Add to that they'll possibly also want a new sound pack for the creature since current onyc sounds would be extremely underwhelming and anemic from something meant to be both menacing and big enough to ride. Tl;dr it's a pretty intense and time consuming process.
  21. To be fair this is still hotly contested, though recent data leans more towards them being featherless or at least very sparsely feathered if memory serves.
  22. The real hilarity is them talking about a lack of realism considering the in game abilities of creatures in game. I mean as an example last I checked nothing in the fossil record indicated that Amargasaurus could shoot hot and cold quills out of its body and regrow them.
