  1. Not really? if you weren't a minority then Meavia wouldn't have gained any traction whatsoever
  2. Gorgon didn't come second twice dude all the times it's been in the top 10 it's come like 6th or 7th stop being a complete douche towards people because they want a creature they like in the game it's fine to not like something but it's another thing entirely to be a douche to them because they want it
  3. Dude people clearly love it it came second twice and third once sure not everyone loves it but those people are clearly a minority
  4. Not a mosasaur it's an ichthyosaur dunno how it's anything like the mosa aside from being a large ocean dweller
  5. Thanks for the clear and reasonable response dude
  6. With the new submission rule where someone can only win once it's going to be tough for me to resubmit the shuno especially if my shasta wins
  7. Shastasaurus submitter here Best of luck to you dude this submission is amazing you put so much hard work and effort into it you even did your own 3d models for it! I'm truly impressed
  8. See the issue with this submission is that they didn't specify it was AI art they tried to pass it off as their own art and when they were rightfully called out on it they only left a small disclaimer at the very bottom of the submission that most people won't see. I totally understand that a majority of people don't have the art skills or friends to do commissions for them so they have to resort to AI art but at the very least be honest about it
  9. I mean sure there's nothing against the rules about it in these creature votes but that doesn't stop it from being kind of a scummy thing to do as like others in the comments have said many AI generators use other peoples work without their permission for AI databases not to mention it's kind of iffy that someone who just types up some code to get an image gets the same amount of credit as an artist who spends hours on a single piece of art. AI art is controversial for a very good reason if they were up front and honest from the start about it however I wouldn't have much issue with this submission because I totally get it it's tough for people with no art skills or friends willing to do art commissions for them especially with how fast these votes come out so it's totally understandable that someone would use AI art for their subs however they should at the very least be up front and honest about it this dude wasn't and only left a disclaimer once people called them out on it and it's a tiny bit of text at the bottom of the page that most people won't see that's just being dishonest imo. again sure they haven't broken any rules but that doesn't make what they've done acceptable
  10. I'm sorry but I cannot support this submission on principal because of the AI art not to mention the fact that you initially posted it without mentioning that it was AI art and only included a disclaimer after people called you out on it and it was a tiny disclaimer at the bottom of the page that most people won't see
  11. You're still an early bird you need at least 6 posts on your account to get out of early bird and be able to start voting it should be pretty easy just post comments on a bunch of submissions
  12. Don't really see how those are overpowered exactly there are other creatures in the game currently that can't be grabbed by the tuso and the scope is pretty much just a magnifying glass and spyglass combo
  13. I've added some new abilities to the shasta after people said they feel it should have more abilities natural to itself rather than from the saddle so we now have Black Pearl harvesting Sonar blasts can disable tek including tek underwater bases Can create whirlpools using it's tail that trap and disorient opponents Can create a Sonar pulse from it's body that pushes enemies back if it gets swarmed Can suck enemies towards it into it's beak and grab them
  14. The harpoons only come out when the shasta surfaces then the sub dome disappears and the harpoon guns come out and they won't really take up a large amount of space. As for the idea to make the saddle more customisable I went this route with it because we don't really have a transforming saddle with different modes in the game yet and It's been something that i've really wanted to see personally and I did my best to incorporate it into the shasta plus I think making mutiple saddles or more customisation options for a singular saddle would take more effort for the devs compared to one saddle with 2 modes honestly cause they'd then have to make multiple models, work on the dino model with the different saddles etc so I figured this would be the best approach to go. you're right about making some changes to context though I probably should be more clear in my post
  15. You don't need to power the saddle dude this isn't a tek saddle or even a gas powered saddle it just works automatically sort of like the Andrewsarcus saddle. for the tail clipping that's not really down to me that's down to how wildcard make the creature and even then if they go off the design in my post for the saddle then the tail clipping won't even be much of an issue since it's so far from the sub saddle.
  16. I'd like to thank everyone for the immense amount of support and love my Shastasaurus has received so far! never in my life did I expect it to take off like this shasta has been a passion project of mine for a while now so I cannot tell you all how happy it makes me that you all love it
  17. Art once again done by the amazingly talented Riskybiscuits Species: Shastasaurus Sikanniensis Time: Middle-Late Triassic Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Passive Wild The Shastasaurus is one of the largest ocean dwellers I have ever witnessed on any of the Arks rivalling the Leedsycthis in terms of sheer mass and being too large for even the mighty tusotuthis to grab a hold of. However, despite its titanic size it is incredibly passive mostly ignoring all other creatures in its vicinity as very few are a threat to it with it only really focusing on smaller schools of fish which it feeds on. If a threat does arrive though such as a group of Mosasaurs or a Leedsycthis it has the special ability of echolocation and is able to detect the threat coming from a mile away. Not just that but it’s echolocation is so powerful that it can charge a large sonic blast with it being able to disorient nearly any hostile allowing the creature to make a quick getaway. Also, much like it’s close relative the ichthyosaurus it is a very social animal living in a tight family unit however due to the sheer size of the Shasta's appetite each member requires an enormous quantity of food and as a result the family units must separate to try and find food on their own to avoid competing for food sources. Sadly, due to the family units splitting up to feed many shastas will never reunite with them and will become incredibly isolated as a result. Domesticated As most Shastasaurus have become isolated and alone due to separating from their families all it requires to domesticate one is simple companionship the best way I have found to do this is with it’s close relative the Ichthyosaurus simply bring a group of them over and the 2 species will begin to interact with the Shastasaurus eventually joining the group and therefore your tribe. Once tamed the Shastasaurus makes for an incredible beast of burden able to carry an insane amount of weight due to this a lot of survivors have constructed a special saddle on the back of the creature this saddle is essentially a submarine as anyone inside it is able to breath and survive the intense pressure of the deep ocean. The saddle also comes equipped with Torpedoes that are essential for any underwater combat as they deal heavy explosive damage. And that’s not even the best part of the saddle when the shastasaurus surfaces above the water the saddle will transform and essentially turn the Shastasaurus into a whaling ship coming equipped with Harpoon launchers these harpoons come equipped with Metal wiring that is attached to each harpoon once fired at a creature it prevents them from moving allowing survivors to easily catch creatures. Abilities and features ·When underwater Saddle acts as a submarine survivors will not lose oxygen and will be able to build in it ·Saddle fires torpedoes these are underwater specific projectiles that deal heavy explosive damage upon impact and they can only be crafted in the inventory of the Shasta (similar to the Equus) ·When the Shasta surfaces the saddle transforms into a whaling ship where the submarine dome disappears and opens up to reveal Harpoon guns these guns are manned turrets that come equipped with metal wiring attached to each harpoon and when fired at an enemy creature it prevents them from moving and essentially binds them this can also be done on enemy players and land creatures and if a creature is small enough you are able to reel them in closer even larger creatures can be reeled in if enough Harpoon guns are fired on it. However the guns have their weaknesses to compensate firstly a creature or enemy player can break out of the Harpoon if they struggle enough (similar to the desmodus or Bloodstalker) and the Harpoon turrets have a durability meter and after a while will require repairs ·Saddle also comes equipped with a Submarine scope allowing you to view the surface of the water while submerged it also acts as a magnifying glass and shows the current health and torpidity of a creature ·Cannot be grabbed by a Tuso due to it’s sheer size ·Has echolocation this essentially gives the Shasta a built in submarine radar allowing it to detect any hostile creatures or players in the immediate area and Highlights everything nearby ·Can charge up a sonic blast with it’s echolocation when fired it disorients enemies essentially acting as a flashbang grenade and enabling the shasta to make an escape if the fight looks to be unwinnable this blast also can disable tek structures and gear including tek underwater bases ·Is very efficient at gathering oil from underwater oil veins and gathers Black pearls effectively from eurypterids and other creatures that drop them ·Saddle is similar to the andrewsarchus saddle as it doesn't require anything to power it and will produce oxygen in the submarine mode for no cost ·Shastasaurus can use it's massive tail to create large whirlpools in the water these can trap enemies in them for a short period of time and disorient them ·Can use a type of suction feeding to suck smaller creatures into it's beak and grip hold of them ·If swarmed the shasta can fire off a sonar pulse this will be a concussive explosion of sound coming off the shasta that will push all enemies back when the shasta is being swarmed ·Can only be tamed by bringing a bunch of tamed Ichthyosaurus or other Shastasaurus and putting them on wandering near it this will cause the wild shasta to interact with those tames and slowly begin to integrate into your tribe however if one of it's companions or the shasta itself is hurt the taming effectiveness will decrease and if one of them is killed the shasta will no longer be tameable and If the player attacks one of the shasta's companions or the shasta itself the whole group will become hostile to the player
  18. Shuno wouldn't invalidate the anky at all the anky still has one huge advantage over the shuno portability as it can be picked up by other creatures like the karkinos it gives players a choice would they rather have the ease of transport the anky or would they rather have the instant smelting and better defence the shuno has. And yes while the magmasaur and pheonix can smelt metal in their inventories it's not effective at all nobody uses either for metal smelting so it really wouldn't invalidate either the magmasaur would still be a powerhouse at PVP because of it's fireball attack and the pheonix would still be a great travel mount and pearl maker the shuno having an industrial forge saddle doesn't invalidate either. And yes there are already creatures that reduce the carry weight of metal but i don't see how my shuno having that ability as well is a bad thing? most harvesting dinos are the same why shouldn't a new one have the same ability to make metal harvesting easier?
  19. yes we have the anky and karkinos for farming metal already but that's really the only method to gather metal on Abb and it's not really that effective compared to stuff like the Anky/quetz ramp I think it's about time that Abb got it's own unique metal farming dino that can serve as a good alternative to the anky while being nowhere near as sluggish and actually being able to defend itself
  20. I put it on Abb because it's the only map where fliers aren't around so you can't rely on the classic Anky/Quetzel ramp method to farm an insane amount of metal and obsidian and the methods that do exist on the map aren't very effective in comparison so I figured it was about time Abb got a metal harvesting dino of it's own that can actually do it effectively and defend itself while not being sluggish like the anky
  21. That's a good point about the taming method I like the idea you gave about a mini OSD event thanks dude
  22. Artwork by Riskybiscuits Species: Shunosaurus jiangyiensis Time: Late Jurassic Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Passive Wild Shunosaurus is a smaller species of Sauropod often found wandering the green zone on the ark in small herds they are quite different from most sauropod species due to their shorter necks however to make up for this they have gained a remarkable new adaptation a large bony club at the end of its tail very similar to what the ankylosaurs have. This tail club is incredibly dense and is able to shatter next to anything from stone, metal and the bones of hostile creatures. In spite of it’s deadly weapon though the shunosaurus is quite passive and will most often ignore other creatures as it cares for it’s small herd and munches on plantlife Domesticated In order to tame a shunosaurus a survivor must gain it’s trust which is incredibly difficult to do as the shunosaurus pretty much only trusts members of it’s herd the best way I find to get it to trust you is to save it’s life I once saved a shunosaurus being attacked by a pack of ravagers and it quickly bonded to me as a result. Once tamed the shunosaurus becomes one of the best creatures around for mining as its large build allows it to carry an insane amount of weight and it’s tail club is incredibly effective at harvesting raw materials. Not to mention it can use a special platform saddle that comes with a built in Industrial forge allowing you to quickly smelt any metal gathered. The shunosaurus also makes for an incredibly powerful defensive mount thanks to it’s incredibly strong tail it can block and parry attacks even being able to send some flying back like a baseball bat hitting a ball. Abilities Tail whip attack the attack has massive range due to the long tail of the Shunosaurus and has a chance to inflict a new status effect Can swing it’s head to be used as a second blunt force weapon Can cause a new status effect broken bones this causes the effected creature to be briefly stunned and then move incredibly slowly for a short period Can grab and throw creatures using it's tail by Impaling them with it's club spikes largest creatures it can pick up are Carnos and Chalicos Can collect resources with it's tail whip attack like the anky Has a new buff similar to the pack buffs of the direwolves and allos this will be called the herd buff and causes the damage resistance of the Shunosauruses to increase and gives them a damage buff and movement speed increase Has a Platform saddle but this one comes with a Forge built in so any metal collected can instantly be smelted Can damage stone structures with it's tail attack Saddle can melt down items back to their base components such as flak gear back to metal, hide etc Has Bony plates and osteoderms on it’s back giving it extra damage resistance from behind Can crush element ore and convert it into element dust Can block and parry attacks using it’s tail bouncing back projectile attacks such as rockets, boulders, magmasaur fireballs etc and countering melee attacks however this attack has a cooldown period to prevent spamming Resistance to all forms of radiation and energy allowing it to survive in the most hostile environments including the surface on aberration Has a massive weight reduction of 90% on raw materials such as metal, Stone, wood etc Can gather metal, stone, obsidian, crystal, all types of gems and element ore with it's tail attack Can gather berries, wood, thatch and fiber with it's head swing attack Taming Method In order to tame the shunosaurus you must gain it’s trust by saving it from being attacked when you approach it you can feed it veggie cakes the shuno will then take a liking to you and start to follow you however hordes of nameless and ravagers will begin to arrive and will start to attack the shuno kill all of the attacking creatures and the shuno will be tamed and the more health it has by the end of the horde attack the higher the taming effectiveness will be
