  1. This is another Bastion Beetle submission. I get people want it to die, but to me I genuinely love bugs and wanted bastion beetle to win. I have been giving Bastion Beetle some thought and I am still working out a solid idea! I do not expect Bastion Beetle to even come close to the top this time because of how late it is, but I wanted to try anyways and get some opinions and thoughts of the new bastion beetle idea. Even if there is hate here that will not deter me from reposting it when it is completely ready. Without further ado, Here is my new idea for bastion beetle! Antarctotrechus Balli Aka The Bastion Beetle Antarctotrechus Balli is a large and very rare creature found in the underground jungle (redwood biomes or bog biomes on maps without underground jungles) to which it seems well adapted. This unusually large beetle resembles a Rhinoceros beetle but on a much more massive scale. Aside from their unusual size, these creatures seem to have a strange implant made of purified element. Males have this implant on the horns and the females on their bellies. The males of this species are extremely territorial and will become aggressive and will attack anything that they think is challenging them. They will use their large frontal horn to try and flip their opponents over or knock them off of what they are standing on. It is suggested to never to and approach a male near a cliff because of this. Females of this species are usually quite docile and will not attack unless necessary. They are so docile that a survivor can walk up to them and pet them without any issues. I have seen one tribe that was able to tame an Antractotrechus Balli. They claim to have an area covered in red extinction sap which lured multiple Antarctotrechus Balli to the area to feed. Eating the sap seemed to cause the Antarctotrechus Balli to release certain pheromones' that started a mating ritual to begin. The males and females of the species began fighting each other until only one female and male was left. This pair then mated and laid an egg in the ground nearby. The pair was seen dead a few days after mating but death was not caused by the injuries, it seems this is simply how the Antarctotrechus Balli life cycle progresses. After the egg was laid and the parents had left, the tribe walked over to it and found that the egg was getting cold very quickly. They brought a creature that produced the right amount of heat and began incubating it right away (If you use a creature that is not warm enough the level will not be as high.) The young of the Antarctotrechus Ballis favorite foods are in order, Red Sap, Blue Sap, Element, Sap, Crops, Berries. Once the larva has hacthed it can be carried on the shoulder. Male Bastion Beetles duking it out for a mate. (I am aware these are Rhino Beetles.) Art done by TheActualAngel There is more art to come! With the abilities, I wanted the bastion beetle to feel completely different between the female and the male. Sorta almost like shadowmanes, but to a more noticeable degree. This is more pushed with a tek saddle, though I have gotten feedback that maybe the tek saddle just isn't right for this creature. I am messing around with it still. It is just a idea atm, and hey maybe wildcard will see this post in future votes and think the tek saddle was a good idea but the execution needs to be different. I am a firm believer of showing more potential abilities is better because it gives more of a idea of what a creature can do, even if the abilities are not 1 to 1 in the final product. ABILITIES: Male Abilities: Males have a large horn that is used to knock enemies back. They can carry creatures in their horn that is Carno size or smaller and can use this ability to either transport aggressive creatures safely or thrash them around to deal damage. Their horn is sharp so they can cause impaling when they grab a creature and thrash around or headbutt them. Males also have the ability to fly long distances if necessary thought somewhat slow. The longer the male the runs the more damage it does (it does not increase in speed as it runs). Although not capable in the wild, tamed males can get the fuzz around their horn covered in sap. If covered in blue sap, they can hold creatures slightly larger than a carno, but no bigger than a Allo. If they have red sap, it causes the impale to bleed out faster due to the red sap opening their wounds more. Purple sap can be made in their inventory. If they have purple sap on their fuzz, then they gain a good attack stat bonus for a short time. The purple sap will also allow it to use both red and blue sap properties. Tek saddles allow them to imbue their horn implant with increased damage and has an energy field around it as the element resonates with the power from the saddle. The energy field changes properties when exposed to different types of sap. Blue sap increases armor and gives them better healing (around armor.0. Red sap gives the horn armor piercing and and increased attack (like a tek sword but around the horn). Female Abilities: Females can run and can fly slightly faster than the males. Females have the ability to gently push things out of their way as they move. This includes pushing away creatures without angering them. Females also have a headbutt attack that does decent damage. They can body slam things under themselves. Females have higher natural resistance, but lower damage overall than males given the fact they do not have as many abilities. The females tek saddle prevents them from flying due to it's placement. The saddle does not slow the beetle down however and in fact increases their speed. The beetle has a large tek cannon on it's saddle that can fire normal cannon balls as well as blue, red, and purple artillary shells made in it's inventory with sap. Blue shells are crafted with blue sap, element, and gunpowder and cause a plasma explosion which stuns creatures (especially tek creatures) and disables electronic devices for a short time like an EMP. Red shells are made with red sap, gunpowder, and element and create gravity fluxtations that drag creatures closer and afflict burning for 2 seconds. Purple shells is a 5 second energy wave that freezes enemies in place and burns them. To make purple sap you must have red and blue sap and element. Difference between male and females. If you do not like the suggestion then you dont have to vote for it! Please let us be civil and not argue over it. I would love suggestions to make it a even better idea! Thank you for reading what I have.
  2. So I am just doing something quick ig to try and give visuals. This is what I thought the size could be. As for saddles, I thought I mentioned more about the saddle. I may have forgot to add more when I was proof reading what I wrote. I'll add it in after this comment but the saddle was suppose to be a tek saddle. The tek saddle would go around its main body, not it's arms. Putting a saddle around the arms would probably hinder too much mobility. The tek saddle could possibly make the starfish hover away without any arms, though I havent thought of a balanced tek saddle ability. all I know is I would hate it to be just a plasma cannon. Most likely my personal idea would be to have the tek saddle revolve around one of its abilities though. Like the light. The tek saddle was suppose to give the rider complete protection ( Also oxygen and rad immunity) so that not even a fab rifle could hit them inside. ( Not sure how the tek railgun works. I heard it shoots through walls so possibly can still get hit by the tek railgun)? As for water, I could add that in as well. I imagine it would only be able to walk on the water floor. I also imagine it being flexible so it could still go through some tight caves. It wouldn't have any floating capabilities (Though tbh I have thought about other votes such as gen1 and gen2. Also thought I could make it work in extinction too.) and would not be able to attach to creatures. I imagine it being too big for that.
  3. Thank you for taking the time to look at my submission about the Villebrunster. I have always considered ark to more than just a game. I am always fascinated by the amount of new creatures in the game that I have never heard of before. It causes me to research and look up more about the creatures. While looking at other creature submissions and previous votes, I saw a lot of recurring creatures or creatures that were very similar. I wanted to add a bit more diversity to the ark voting and have a new unique species come into ark. Sadly I am no artist, so I wouldn't be able to provide original art. I can however provide pictures of Villebrunaster! I hope you enjoy my submission, The Villebrunaster! VILLEBRUNASTER Common name: Villebrunaster Species: Asterozoa Time: Ordovician Period Diet:Carnivore/Pescatavore Temperament: Neutral DOMESTICATION Tamable: Yes Breedable: Yes Rideable: Yes Image of Villebrunaster WILD: Villebrunastar is a unusually large species of starfish that had adapted to live on land rather than in the water. It is an incredibly tough and resilient creature that would best be described as a tank with suction cups. It's hard outer shell and it's ability to climb up nearly any vertical surface makes it very hard to kill but also a very unusual sight. Many would expect a Thylocean or Purlovia to fall down on them from the trees or in the caves only to have a starfish fall on their heads. It's multiple limbs give it the ability to climb and also have the ability to regrow themselves after a fight. Even without their arms they can still climb using the suction cups located on their main body. Here is where I could imagine Villebrunaster spawning. Up at the top drawing seekers to it's mouth. DOMESTICATED: The Villebrunastar is a carnivorous creature that mainly eats Squid bats but has a love of Karakinos claws which prove very effective in taming it. It can be given a saddle and ridden, though many think that this looks quite ridiculous as the rider has to ride in the creatures mouth. Aside from being very silly looking, it is also rather slow and despite it being able to put up a fight; many people use them for their utility. I have seen large fights with Villebrunaster losing all their arms, and despite being armless; Villebrunaster always seems to be able to make a great escape. I envision Villebrunaster being a tank/support. I do believe we don't need any more dps tames on aberration. Let us not upset the balance of the wildlife on aberration. Sure they might be able to do alright damage, but I would like them to never do more than a rock drake or reaper. Villebrunastar Taming: You will first need to lure them off the ceiling by hitting them with plant species z fruit. After they are on the ground, you will then need to destroy all of its arms. Destroying its arms causing it to run away. After a while it will return to where it lost it's limbs though it is unknown as to why. Perhaps it wants to try and eat it's lost limbs to replenish it's energy, or perhaps it wants to take revenge on it's attacker. Once it return it is possible to climb into the creatures mouth and feed it. It has a wide variety of tastes including Karakinos claws, plant species Z fruit, and raw prime meat. After feeding it the Villebrunastar will calm down and eventually become friendly towards the person who fed it. Each arm takes around 10 minutes to grow back. While taming, if more than 3 grow back you will need to attack it again to remove the arms, during which you will lose affinity. A example of what I would imagine its mouth looking like. ( It has evolved in aberration. Its lifestyle caused its mouth to be above its body instead of underneath). Abilities/Attacks: First Attack- Basic attack where it lifts one arm up and slams it down to knockback and deal damage to enemies. Second Attack- Bite attack(Will only be able to bite from above its mouth) Third Attack- Lifts up all arms above mouth and slams them down to create a shockwave similar to a wyverns wing attack. This attack deals decent damage if all arms hit, knocks enemies back and slows them. Fourth Attack- Grabs a target with one of it's arms, it can either slam them down, throw them, or carry them somewhere else. This could be useful for taming and transport of creatures. Each arm can carry one creature but after carrying 3 or more it loses the ability to climb. Fifth Ability- Cycles through skin types similar to a Stego. You can choose between Rock mode which increaes defense or Spike mode which enables reflect damage. Sixth ability- (Requires no arms) Will release pheromones calming enemies for a time. This allows Villebrunaster to possibly escape. Seventh Ability- Can cycle through the types of light it gives off. 1) simple light 2) damage boosting light to nearby allies 3) health regen light to nearby allies 4) damage resist to nearby allies 5) weaponized light that acts like a flashbang to stun and deal damage to enemies (Activation is on a different key and you will see a bar indicating your flashbang is charged. Will use all your charge and damage scales depending on how much charge you used). These are just ideas of abilities to hopefully catch peoples and wildcards eyes. Some additional images Image of a asterozoa I encourage everyone if they have a different idea for Villebrunaster to share it! Thank you again for stopping by and reading!
  4. bruh, people downvoting for liking the spooder again. Imagine having that much free time.
  5. I honestly absolute agree that it is a bit bland and has pre-existing abilities. I personally hated making previous creatures obsolete because oh this creature does it way better. (Example and the one that peaves me off the most being Sino and Archaeopteryx) In the end of the day though it is a community vote. I do disagree with boosting your vote through socials, but no one forces them to click that upvote button. Other than being cute, I personally wouldn't want the dire otter to win. However my opinion isn't exactly the full communities opinion.. If it does keep coming back that means it has enough people wanting it. I got a lot of comments on my last bastion beetle submission saying not to force the idea on them and let it die. I don't think it is quite fair to throw a idea under the rug because multiple people don't want it. If this idea does win in the end count on wildcard to make it UNIQUE and useful in its own way. I guess I just wanted to say that despite it being posted on other socials and keeps coming back to multiple votes; no one is forcing them to vote for the dire otter. I do think your opinions are more than valid though.
  6. I do think instead of turning it into a plant in a plot though, the zombie idea could be expanded on more. Possibly replacing all special abilities a previous creature had with its own(Like reapers right click or basilisks breath attack). Either way I personally love the idea, but I think it would be more enticing to vote on if it wasn't just stuck in a plot.
  7. I actually like this idea quite a bit. Super unique and not a generic prehistoric creature. Quite upset they made aberration of all things IRL prehistoric creatures, but in the end despite this being a IRL species; you managed to make it seem so alien.
  8. Not my personal favorite since it seems to just be a giant otter, but if wildcard adds cool abilities and makes it useful then that would be great! A giant cute otter(I personally love otters even if this isn't my personal favorite) would be pretty cool to have.
  9. Glad this creature mad it back into the top 10! Never abandon the idea if it doesnt win this time! It is clear we want this creature! Gorg in Rag!
  10. Decent idea. I do hope that the oceans are touched up. If they are this creature might even be more useful! I always hated that the oceans always seemed abandoned( Well besides the gen1 boss).
