If it comes down to math, there's tons of players who would still spend to keep playing Official servers. Even the petition with over 6k signatures to keep them running shows it (in some way). I personally will be losing most of my friends I've made on official simply because they do not have the newest console. That's a pretty large percentage of the playerbase. I understand you though, I played on legacy but since far surpassed my character there (it's still existing, I found it the other day XD). Since they are still selling the full game without any warning whatsoever that the servers are being shut down, it would only make sense as well.

But they didn't for some reason. Were they just being nice? It would be awesome if they decided to do the same in this case, especially for many console users who can't afford or even find a new gen system for themselves or let alone their entire family. But yeah, hypothetical wishful thinking.

Perhaps, but they said the same thing about Legacy servers and those are currently still existing AND quite populated. They could easily just remove/retire those ones (finally) and leave a few official ones in their stead that players would have to "migrate" to in the same fashion. Edit: It's just the right thing to do. Straight up wishful thinking, naturally.

Hi Devs, Please leave a handful of servers up like you did with Legacy, that would only be fair to those who wish to keep playing as-is (especially those last-gen console users). You said you would slowly shut them all down yet there's *still* a fair amount of *populated* legacy servers, so leaving a few Official servers doesn't seem too much of an ask. Even if we had to pay a subscription to play them/keep them running, myself and many many others I know already said they would. It would be preferred and 1000x better than having to pay a 3rd party company for unofficial servers as well (and you'd get the money). Also, please let us at least keep our implant progress (not levels, just our progress), since it is already tied to our characters themselves via Vernacular ID. That wouldn't seem too difficult to implement for ASA from ASE. Now the stretch, but wishful thinking: Please let us have an "Ark" feature for ASE. As in an actual Ark, so pun intended. Let us bring over a copy of 3 of our favorite dinosaurs, all automatically neutered/spayed, and also can not be the same type. Something to bring over to keep our legacy in mind would be nice after what you have decided to do to us... Any of these options would be a great thing to do for us long time hard working players. If even just PvE (not sure how it would work for PvP because I do not play it). Hope the right people will see this plea, thank you for your time and have a great day!

Unfortunately, this isn't available on console for some reason. So OP, if you are on console, sadly you might just have to do what I did: try every server until you find it (took me 4 hours).... Helps a little more if you can remember what map you were in. Best of luck!

Also, it would be more fair for those who don't have next gen. Especially those who play as a family and can't afford multiple next gen consoles. I've already seen so many upset about that. I just noticed today that there are STILL legacy servers running (my character still exists! ^-^), and they are quite populated as well! So if they did it with Legacy, I don't see the harm with doing it with official servers for people to "migrate" to.

Not "for the full experience", you HAVE to upgrade your console because it will *only* be available on Series S/X.

Here's hoping that they will change their mind last minute and leave at least a few servers open like they did with legacy. One can dream right?

Would be even more messed up because right now they are telling us we will be able to, but I wouldn't put it passed them at all. Imagine purchasing a server and them letting you save your maps to it just to find out they are stopping that too? After telling us it's an option? Oof I'm not even going to trust ASA servers sticking around long upon Ark 2 release... I'm sure I'm not alone in that lack of trust issue they have brought upon us all. I should have learned my lesson after the Legacy debacle heh, but alas, Ark always brought me back eventually (multiple times)... Love-hate relationship XD

In that sense, I apologize too then. Absolutely, but I wasn't really posting it to be discussed. What I am willing to do (as my original post suggested), is let them take my money to keep my server up, rather than giving my money to a 3rd party. Wishful thinking. Meant to be taken with a grain of salt, unless the developers themselves change their minds (unlikely, but I remain hopeful that they will throw us some type of bone before the end. Part of me hopes they were trying to "thin the herd" before possibly doing a legacy-type server merge and leaving a couple up in the end. Grimey, sure, but they did the same exact thing back then too).

I was simply saying it was a smart alternative, a way to save the servers (or an option for whomever wants), and I get an essay on how they are running their business or what other games are doing. Not every company chooses the smart routes, and some just flat out don't care. I've played many MMOs with worse companies to know. It was just an idea, not warranting smartass responses from people who think they are top of the world because their profile says they won some kind of top award. They could have just said "would be nice, but sadly no", instead of dismissing my entire post and boiling it down to that. I would have called them a lot worse. But I'll let it go. Stop arguing with me over irrelevant crap. It was just my opinion that it would have been a good idea (money is money) and many were willing to do it. What you think matters not.
