  1. Dinorancher, congrats to you and your friend. But, having read this I am hoping you can clear something up for me... Are you able to pod and un-pod dinos in the tek cave? It sounds like you might have with the giga and didn't mention anything about using or training any other tames through the cave... I didn't think you could, and if so, that is a game changer for me. Me and my tribe mate tried the tek cave for the first time (on PVE) this past weekend and failed. She died from a lag glitch and I ran out of time trying to train a couple groups of theris down the path... got to final giga (just before changing from hot to cold) when time ran out. But if pods work and there is no need to hassle with trains... wow! Time no longer becomes and issue. Thanks for any more info you can give.
  2. PVE Island Official Pushed really hard the last couple days to finish getting boss teams together. A full team of therizinos and a full team of rexes are raised, saddled, and levelled. The yuti program was a little behind schedule as it took longer than expected to get 1 egg with all the right stats but it finally happened last night and the new boss team yuty commander is in the maewing basket as we speak. I have a couple others that have lesser stats and they will probably get the early boss action until the new one is ready. Also spent time recently collecting the last of the artifacts / tributes needed and I should have enough for beta / alpha of each boss. Finally tried my hand at fishing. Eh, it was ok. Didn't get anything great. Anyway, cabinets are bare from making saddles, lol, but that is ok. It was a productive event and now I can wrestle some bosses.
  3. Yes, definately check the water caves for rex saddles. For Giga saddles I would head for the desert on Ragnarok. I have found a ton of saddles and BPs in the red loot crates there.
  4. PVE Official Island Late last night I set the basilos to breed and went to bed... Woke up this morning to a baby girl 😃 and for once I didn't mind the 8 hour pregnancy. 👍 My new rexes finally reached adulthood yesterday and my tribemate collected the first set of eggs. It will be awhile before we get another set, so... I Took one of the basilos out into the deep looking for alpha tuso or mosa. I know you can get fishing poles from them and wouldn't mind having a decent pole before the Valentine event. Never really tried fishing in Ark before and I probably should give it a try since it looks like some of the event prizes will be centered around fishing. However, I didn't find any alphas in the time I had. I will try again tomorrow.
  5. PVE Official Had a good weekend. Bounced back and forth between Rag / Island / and Crystal Isles. A good part of the weekend has been raising babies. The triplet rexes that I will use to produce the next boss team are up to 83% mature. I should be able to finish by tomorrow and hope to have a small pile of eggs to hatch by the time the valentine event starts on the 9th. I switched gears on the yuty program and was able to combine the high stamina and high melee into one baby. I have been trying to find a wild yuty with high health to add to the mix but no luck yet. The best wild tame health stat I have right now is 36 points and that is not very good. Stam and Melee are at 45 and 46 respectively. I can live with that as a starting point. But the task of finding and knocking out as many high level yuties in search of health... continues. Built a water pen on the Island to breed my basilos. Waiting on the cool down timer after transferring them from Rag. Probably a project for next weekend at this point. Went to Crystal Isles and collected an assortment of artifacts and sent them to the island. Then ran around the island on the giga to collect tribute items. And spent some time improving the new island base and doing all the other little things in Ark life.
  6. PVE official Island Finished building the base on the sandy beach just west of the Red Obelisk. Then made several trips back to Ragnarok to fetch key members of the breeding and boss teams. Also took over several useful tames for caves and all the appropriate gear. I have triplet baby rexes ( 1 M and 2 F) that I am raising to be the start of a fresh Rex boss team. I have also started a breeding program on some yuties and megatheriums. My therizino line is good but will probably raise up some more just to have back ups. The last few weeks feel like they have taken forever to get the Island base started with nothing but 1x rates since the holiday event ended, but it is what it is. (I won't complain if the Devs finally decide to toss us some 2x rates this weekend though 😃👍) I have beaten the Island before on single player but ran into a real toxic environment and a poor performing server when I first started on PVE. Unfortunately, I had to leave before I could tackle the bosses. After experiencing life on Ragnarok and Crystal Isles for awhile I am very happy to finally return and pick up where I left off... and take care of some unfinished business.
  7. Pushed through 1x rates the last two days and finally finished raising a group of therizinos and a few yuties. Wow! They are painfully slow to raise. 🥴
  8. PVE Rag Official Was really hoping for EVO event this weekend to finish up raising this batch of baby therizinos and yuties. No luck there, but I did take them out for a few hours anyway. They are now all between 70-90 % done, so getting closer. My rex line is mostly done with babies popping at 40.2k health and 1225 melee. I have a couple with 1237 melee but other stats like food and oxygen are still a little too high... have to play with those a little more to get overall level below 370. Baby work is never done. lol Took a break from babies and did the beta boss fight. It was successful with no losses but about half the team got stuck under the dragon when it died and then the manticore didn't wan to land. It took longer than I wanted and several team members really took a beating but all good in the end. PVE Island Official After several servers and searching, we found a good server and a good spot near the Red Obelisk in the SW corner. Construction starts tonight 😀
  9. Official PVE After spending almost my entire holiday event breeding and raising a second boss army on Rag I started a new character and went back to the Island. I never officially beat it in PVE when I was there before and I wanted to check it off my list before moving forward. My tribe partner has never beaten the bosses there either so she is on board with the plan. We are currently in the Search and Test phase of the plan. She went one direction while I went another. We are trying out different servers to see which ones perform well enough to call home... spending time at each one to test lag / crash issues and also see which ones have a decent spot to build. I spent a couple hours on one today on the newb beach. Said hello to the locals and built a raft. It is now outfitted with the basics and I will likely set sail next time I play. I will navigate around the island and take notes about base locations. If I can make it all the way around without crashing then the server will get a yes vote. If for no other reason, just bobbing around on the beach is pretty fun.
  10. Were the parents high level? If the baby inherits all the highest stats and tries to hatch over level 450 it will do that. Happens to me often. I have also had babies hatch and glitch through an elevated floor before too. Found them on ground under the base (which sat on pillars a the time).
  11. Ahh. hmmm. That stinks. I personally never jump servers with anything in my inventory though. If that is what you are doing and you keep losing things then I would try something different. I know that is a lame response but I don't have any other answers. Good luck.
  12. Did you upload your podded dinos to the data tab? That is the only way I will transfer them. Then when you get to the other side and want to retrieve them, the data tab will, at first, be empty. But as soon as you upload something else to the data tab (like a stack of berries or a hatchet... anything will do) then everything you had uploaded before will appear again. I lost several dinos before figuring that out.
  13. PVE Official Rag My partner and I fought beta / alpha bosses back to back. Very happy with team. No issues, and nobody lost more than half health. We are now talking about consolidating our two bases down to one, adding tech elements and deciding which map to visit next. Good times. 👍
  14. PVE Official Rag Spent most of the weekend breeding and hatching yuty eggs... taking advantage of 3x rates while I can. Ended up with a pretty strong group of stats spread amongst 8 different dinos. Now trying to combine / consolidate / get mutations, etc... you all know the game. My partner and I finally had the chance to make a boss run. However, I have misplaced some of the artifacts and we were only able to do gamma. Took a team of 11 rexes, 8 therizinos, and 1 yuty. Crushed it. After the dragon landed the first time it never got airborne again. The manticore was almost as quick. I think the entire fight was done in less than 5 minutes. lol. We are planning to do Beta / Alpha next weekend. PVE Official Crystal Isles After about 30 minutes of looking for my lost artifacts... and not finding them, I jumped over to crystal isles and collected a bunch. Raised a couple of baby wyverns up to juvenile status while I replanted the garden that had died since I last logged in there.
  15. PVE official Ragnarok Tamed my first Mosa. I don't really need it since I have several fantastic basilos, but I decided it was time to check it off the list. Mosa ✅
  16. Official PVE Ragnarok Bred yuties and hatched 8 eggs. 5 babies god dad's high health and stamina. 3 of those were Female and will raise them and breed them with high melee male during event rates in a few days. One baby hatched with a really nice purple stripe but it was a junk food mutation and I will likely give it away or kill it. Official PVE Crystal Isles Made a paint sprayer for the first time. Never played with one before and I am kicking myself for not doing it sooner. I found it to be addicting and color is so much better than the dull drab gray of stone and metal. Went with a seasonal concept and my new base is very orange 😀👍
  17. PVE Ragnorak Devoted a little more time to searching the oceans and actually found my Basilo that has been lost for two weeks. Took it back to base and a 140 dolphin followed me into the water pen. I didn't have one of those so I grabbed a little kibble from the cabinet and tamed it quite easily. Notice I was low on kibble so I took out all the teams for the day and collected eggs. Kept busy by restocking the cabinets with materials, feeding hives, etc... normal boring stuff. PVE Crystal Isles Hooked up with tribe-mate and we flew around the map together for the first time, checking out all the different biomes and taking notes on potential base locations. I think we have it narrowed down to 3 or 4 but it is one of those maps where you just want to build everywhere 😂... so many good spots. Found and pocketed a 195 Ember wyvern egg. No pursuit. Got lucky 👍 Tamed an anky. Spent some time gathering materials and making foundations / wall / pillars, etc. in preparation for the eventual build.
  18. PVE official Took a second character to Crystal Isles for the first time. Built a house boat and puttered around the southwest rivers for awhile. Tamed a very pedestrian level 95 ptera for scouting... and found some artifacts that I heard were easy to find. And I was so happy to get them because the Labyrinth on Ragnarok is kicking my butt. 🥴 Found a 135 blood wyvern egg while going after the artifact of the devious (? I think) and somehow managed to get away from three wyverns by flying through a ravine full of griffens. Got back to the boat and started heading toward the green obelisk. As soon as I hit the deep water I was ambushed by a leedsichthys and lost everything. LOL, good times. 6 artifacts and my first blood wyvern egg... gone. I loaded up my main character on Rag and tamed a pair of 135 pteras and a 150 dire bear that were all pretty close to each other. Maybe the ark gods were feeling bad they killed my boat. Anyway, they tamed up real quick with the 3x rates and I slapped on some saddles and uploaded them into the red obelisk. Went back to my survivor on C.I. and loaded myself into the redwood biome in the NW corner this time. Decided to take a different approach to starting out and made my way to a beach in the far north and built a small house. 3x rates helped with that too. 👍 After I got myself settled I found an OSD to download the three tames. It seems Crystal Isles is more of a flyer map than a boat map anyway. It honestly wouldn't be bad for boats but many of the rivers are blocked by bases and navigation is much more of a challenge. Spent a little time just scouting around and looking for a nice spot to build a slightly more permanent base. I am really impressed with the beauty of the map. And just as soon as I find the perfect spot.... I change my mind because I find a better one around the next corner. lol. My tribe mate from Rag has also joined me with a new survivor on C.I. so we can start the new adventure together. I have also sent several artifacts back to Rag now and we have what we need to fight the bosses there. So much to do in the next couple weeks. 😃
  19. PVE Official Rag, Put out a few groups of dinos again for eggs today, but got nothing from it. I don't know if anyone else if having trouble getting eggs lately but I sure am. Spent a little time looking for lost basilo again. No luck, but no death message either so I am still holding onto hope. I will likely breed another basilo this weekend and start raising it if we have improved rates. Fast travelled to an outpost base to refresh it. Did a quick metal run That was it today.
  20. Ragnarok PVE Finally finished raising my megatheriums and ice wyvern. I celebrated by running the ice cave again and defeating the Ice Queen. On the way home I flew over the murder snow and say a low level ice wyvern attacking some mammoths. Only took a few minutes to find the nest and a beautiful 170 ice egg. Boo Yah! Shortly after, my partner logged on and we tried the Labyrinth. Um, that didn't go so well. Died twice. But we had fun. We turned our attention to the ocean and went after the Artifact of the Devourer. Killed lots of squids and collected more black pearls than we could carry. Both of us left the deep blue with the artifact. Everything was good until I dismounted my favorite basilo back at the beach. When I hopped off it bolted back into the water. I have spent about 3 hours looking for it but no luck yet. With 90k health it will last awhile and put up a good fight. Nonetheless, I am worried I will lose it forever. Keep fighting, UB 40. And I will find you buddy.
  21. Official PVE Ragnarok Mind wiped yesterday and spent the day making stuff. Demolished my whole supply of materials in the process. Took rexes and therizinos out of pods and added all the passive levels they have been getting recently. Gave them all MC saddles, and deemed them ready for bosses. I just need to get two more artifacts from the laberynth and we will be on our way. Took ice wyvern out of pod and let it mature with 2x rates for awhile and it is now 90%. Once I mind-wiped back to normal I spent today collecting materials and re-stocking the shelves.
  22. Official PVE Ragnarok It was a pretty good weekend. Did the Carnivorous Cavern for the first time. Got lost several times. Got within 100 points of dying because I was lost and didn't make it out before dark... when all those walking lizard things wake up lol. But in the end I did walk out with both artifacts. Finally found some otters (been looking for two weeks, every day). Tamed a M 145 and a F 20. I think so many of the spawn points have been built upon that they are now very rare on that server. I don't really care about the level, I just want one with me when I start doing the harder caves for the extra artifact benefit. It doesn't hurt to have one travelling across the murder snow either. Did some upgrades, organizing and built an incubation chamber at our Redwood base location. Few around the murder snow zone with my new otter and found two ice wyvern eggs (two different fly-overs about 12 hours apart). Nothing great (lvl 45 and 85 I think), but I was happy to finally find them. And someone on the server late last night announced they were leaving and giving away a bunch of stuff. I took a look at what he had and walked away with a bunch of high end items and dinos... so I am happy I was on at the right time.
  23. Hey all, it's been awhile since I posted anything. A couple months ago I had my survivor get stuck in the transfer process from Rag to the Island. I was going back to get the last of my stuff that I needed and... my survivor never made it to the other end. It took about 3 weeks but one of the DEVs helped me replace the survivor I lost. However, in that time I lost several tames and a bunch of goodies on the Island because I couldn't refresh. Luckily my tribe-mate on Rag was able to keep things going on that end of it. It hurts to lose stuff for silly reasons but that is liffe. Then, Just as life seemed like it was back on track I got COVID and it took me to my knees for another 3 weeks. Although I was stuck at home I didn't really have the strength to play. So it has been a bad past 2 months for ARK. But I am alive and wanted let you know I am ARKing again 🤪 and it feels good.
  24. PVE Rag official Rolled up the sleeves yesterday and did some grunt work... gathered mats and made a bunch of foundations, walls, pillars, etc for the new base build and have them in storage. My tribe-mate will be doing the building on the new base and I am just the supplier of goods and materials. So I have a ton of grinding ahead of me and am thankful for the 3x rates starting tomorrow with the summer bash event. This morning I didn't have much time before work so I flew up to the Rag ice cave for the first time and cleared the big cavern of loot drops. I am looking for a rex saddle BP since my best blueprint is a sucky 38.4. I didn't find anything good in the cave, but I didn't go down the tunnels either and I understand the better stuff is further down. I left the cave and flew through the redwoods to refresh the pillars I had placed, then quickly flew to the desert to check red loot crates. Nothing noteworthy there either. Flew home, fed the team, and logged off.
  25. Spent a lot of time babysitting this weekend. Got all the rexes and a poison wyvern to adulthood. Therizino team is now at 50% mature. Yutys and basilo are in the 77-80% range. Immediately bred some of the rexes together to get some different color combinations and to work in the new high water mark for stamina and melee. started cooking the eggs but have not hatched them yet. Made a number of metal runs in preparation for an upcoming buiding project. Scouted out sites for a new base and I think we found one we like in the Rag Redwoods. I put down some pillars while we consider our options. Flew around on new Poison Wyvern that I named Atomic Rooster. Added about 50 levels so far and I am impressed with how hard it hits... so much better than the others. Made a number of runs at the red loot crates in the desert and was prepared to complain today about how crappy the loot has been since they "fixed" the loot bug last week... but then last night I found an ascendant scuba tank, a nice mastercraft fur chestpiece, an ascendant YUTY saddle blueprint, and a mastercraft mosa saddle. So I am not complaining today. 😀
