  1. There was never any agreement anywhere. It was a desicion made by the developers. This is something you, and everyone else who bought the game in Early Access/Game Preview accepted when you hit that purchase link. Wildcard are the developers, not you or me. We are paying testers, that's it. The bonus is that we get the game for a cheap price and are able to provide feedback whilst the game is being developed and suggestions people have made, have already made its way into the game. Wildcard have the sole right to do whatever they want to do with their game, be it serverwise or otherwise. I can understand the frustration, as i've been frustrated about a couple of things myself, but my point still stands. 1: All game development companies wipe their content 100% before release. No ifs, or buts. It's a complete wipe, regardless of what players want. 2: ARK players in general are lucky to even keep their stuff when the game transitions from being indevelopment to full release. They are given a chance to move to a different server and start fresh and keep everything. If some people are slow, well, that's their problem, no one elses. They can still start new characters on the new servers. People would keep playing regardless. The vocal minority also claimed that people were gonna stop playing after the flyer nerf. Guess what? People continued playing! The vocal minority that cried out might've left the game at some point, but so what? It's not like that's gonna hurt the developers in any way, especially not financially, since this is a Buy to Play game and not a subscription based game. Besides, most of them either came back not long after, or will come back on release. You and those few people who complain about this, are the vocal minority. No offense, but this is a fact. The majority are in-game, playing and enjoying the game.
  2. On top of everything else you mentioned, this is probably the most annoying thing on official servers next to spawning into a dino pen.. Morons building on top of explorer notes and closing off ruins etc..
  3. What on earth did you expect when you bought into Early Access, then? I am pretty sure that you, as a lot of other people, were expecting a finished product more or less, completely ignoring the huge blue box where it says: _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ http://store.steampowered.com/earlyaccessfaq/ Early Access Game Get instant access and start playing; get involved with this game as it develops. Note: This Early Access game is not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I added the earlyaccessfaq link there just in case you're still confused.
  4. When the game releases, people have every right to be mad if it is still filled with bugs, but that's besides the point i was trying to prove here. The point is, some people expect the game to be fully functional during the development stages, and completely ignores the sticker that says that the game might not work at all, WILL be filled with bugs, and that it may or may not be completed. However, when 'any' game releases, filled with bugs that requires massive workarounds and such, people have a right to complain. Why not get involved and report bugs sooner then? To help the developers squash said bugs before release? Not a lot of people think like that. I agree, a 100% wipe would be better, which is what i've been pushing for since the start. However, even if they did a 100% wipe, people would still bitch and moan about it. That's kind of the point here, which is why i said 'lucky', as other developers wipe their games 100% not just before release, but between dev stages as well. But there are a lot of people who don't understand Early Access. Early Access is just another lazy term for Alpha and Beta. I am by no means a fanboy, don't get me wrong, but when i see so many replies from people who can't stand the thought of losing everything they built up DURING THE DEVELOPMENT STAGES OF A GAME i get a bit irritated. I've been trying to push them into replying about some nasty bugs on the Xbox One as well without much luck, but it wasn't game breaking. I could still play the game without it ruining the main experience. There is so much information, right infront of your eyes when you look at games in Early Access on Steam or Game Preview on Xbox Live, it's amazing that people are actually able to completely ignore the warnings. While we may all be different, we're all born with two eyes, usually on the front side of the face. However, these complaints about certain trivial things and the server wipe. I think some might be born sitting on their eyes.. All developers have to start somewhere. Is that wrong, though? No. It's business. Plain and simple. The development cycles are still the same, regardless of how they go about it on the business side of it. Most developers who start out doesn't have the backing of a well known publisher or major investors. Studio Wildcard was bought up by Snail Games USA, after they released ARK on Early Access if memory serves me right. Pre-release and Early Access are two different things. Pre-release is a version of the game, released to pre-order customers, prior to the official release. Such as a head-start, where they get to play the game before those who did not pre-order. It will still require a big update on release. Think of it as a movie being shown to a specific audience, before it's scheduled release. Early Access, as i've explained previously, are the lazy term for Alpha and Beta but using one single term for both stages. Note: In some cases it may even cover pre-alpha for those developers wanting to get the pre-alpha build out to people to get feedback. So no. I am not convinced you fully understand how it all works.
  5. Drive people away? Drive the stupid people who failed to read the 'contract' they signed when buying the game in its current state, which is not a finished product, yes. The smart people who understand how game development works, no. People expect too much. They haven't got the slightest idea what Early Access/Game Preview means. To them, they're just playing a finished product without ever doing any form of research into what game development means. Players in this game are lucky. I've alpha/beta tested for a lot of games throughout the past two decades, and while dev companies do things differently, as far as buy to play games goes, they all have one thing in common: 100% wipe before launch, so that everyone starts at the same level, to avoid any form of advantages over new players who didn't get into the alpha/beta.
  6. You're lucky they don't wipe every single server 100% like all other game developers do between each individual development stage and a few days prior to launch. This is what you agreed upon when you bought into Early Access/Game Preview. Everything is subject to change during Early Access/Game Preview. Both terms are just new terms made up to cover Alpha stages and Beta stages. So what? This isn't a subscription based game where you pay them money every month to play the game. You bought the game. The End. I've been wanting a 100% wipe on 100% of their servers since the start, though. Unfortunately that's not happening, but seeing all these salty tears is almost as good.
  7. That Clay Microraptor.. Wow! That looks so amazing I can't wait for the Phoenix. Just need to be rideable, and with a trail of fire behind it when you ride it!
  8. I'll try my best to remain civil and constructive about this, but i have to get this off my chest, as this is getting ridiculous.. Don't you ever tire, of complaining when you don't win? You've complained multiple times in the past as well when one of your creations or showcases didn't make the cut. What i see here is a case of entitlement. In competitions, there is no entitlement, unless you win. However, you're never entitled to win. If you can't stand losing, don't enter any competitions, cause some times you win, sometimes you lose. You deal with it, and move on. I'm sorry if this came off as a bit harsh, not my intention!
  9. The current Xbox One wouldn't be able to handle mods such as Bush people. Xbox One X on the other hand might be able to. This mod even have some high-end spec rigs struggling. A shovel is smarter than the NPCs in Conan Exiles..
  10. No, it's not actually. The COD Collectors editions have never been that expensive. Not the digital ones. The physical CE for the COD titles have never been this insane. For buying the Conan Exiles Barbarian edition i received twice as much swag, both physical and digital and the price tag was only $59.99
  11. ALL developers who make buy to play games, wipes their servers before release, to ensure that everyone starts on an even battlefield on release. It is common practice in the industry to do so. Though, i do believe that Studio Wildcard should've taken a firmer stand on it and be more decisive about it much earlier on, like most developers do. As it stands right now, on official servers, it's impossible for ANY new player to join. You either spawn and get insta killed by wildlife, or you get turned into a blood bank. If you get lucky and manage to run away from the spawn zone, you can't find any decent locations to build on, as most of them are being monitored and pillared by the alpha tribes or other less intelligent beings who're out to make our lives a living nightmare on these official servers. I hope that makes you a bit more enlightened.
  12. Dang, dat price tag I paid less (three times less) for the Conan Exiles Digital CE and got more physical goods with it as well as digital swag. Christ all mighty, $159, that's insane! No, i'm by no means a cheap DireWolf. I buy all my games as CE, but this, this is too much
  13. Then i do hope you'll address some of the questions related to the Xbox One and the issues we're having with it. The Xbox One community is part of the same overall community. Granted we paid way more to have player dedicated servers up and running, which currently are a huge mess at the moment. No wanting to derail, but seeing as you were responding to others, i had to jump at the chance. Grats to the winners. Love the art as well. Everyone's a winner imho.
  14. On an official PVE server, not PVP server. That said, impressive work from all contestants. Now, are we ever gonna get that digest for those of us who posted questions that you guys requested a while back @Jat ?
  15. It's a reliable website. It also lets you do other stuff besides downloading images.
  16. If the website was shady, i wouldn't dream of setting up a subscription for it. It's just a very handy website that lets you do more than the Xbox App lets you do. Though the best way is to upload your images to OneDrive from your Xbox One.. I just suggested xboxdvr.com since i've been using it since they published it.
  17. http://xboxdvr.com - Look up your gamertag, then download the image, and upload it here. voila. You're welcome.
  18. We're customers yes, but at the same time we are also testers. You did read the warning on the Steam store page, right?
  19. Some amazing stuff here. Nice to see new faces as well. Those drawings, though. Wish i had just half the drawing skills. I can barely make a grocery list!
  20. Wish we could get the same type of integrated mod platform on the consoles, like Fallout4 and Skyrim SE have. It would be a direct link to the mods on a website, where modders can update both the PC and console mods whenever they want to, without the restrictions imposed by the current system, where we can browse, search and download + rate mods at our own pace. But, i guess the game would have to be officially released, for something like that would be accepted by Microsoft.
  21. Bud. You sound a bit too self-entitled and self centered here. There are probably tons of people entering, and to be honest, you've been getting special treatment for far too long, along with a couple others, in MY honest opinion. Heck, Xbox One players aren't even able to enter this contest stuff because they don't even have mods to make their stuff look cool. That said, this is just another week, with the exact same names showing up as winners, runner's up and honorable mentions. Nothing new to see here to be honest. Stop whining.
  22. They need to split it up into two groups. Modded and Non-Modded, then split the prize pool in two. That way, console players can participate as well. Right now, console players are left out because modders will get 100% of the attention because they can make way more flashy builds than console players can.
  23. Well, that's a deal breaker for me and many others, i'm sorry to say. Why not just make it an instanced "world", like so many other games do out there? I'd also like to drag another elephant out of the closet here. Spawns, or should i say, overspawns. You also mentioned base spawns, but what about the issues with overspawning dinos etc. Take the Center for example. The redwoods are literally an ocean of Pteranodons. The swamps and other places are swarming with packs of up to 30-50 creatures in one tightly packed group in certain areas. Now, i'm running my own dedicated Xbox server, so i'm sure you can see why i want to push this up through the priority lists. It has been going on for far too long, and my server is just an empty shell of what it was before the spawns went out of control on the center as well as on the island map. Is there a fix in the pipe line for this for us Xbox server owners?
  24. @Jat : Will we ever be able to do the SE to The Center/The Island and back/Or other way around type of transfers on player dedicated Xbox One servers? Will we have to buy a 3rd Xbox One for this? I have been asking this over and over and over again with no answer at all. This is kind of a deal breaker for me. The advertisement video promised everyone, and that -should- include everyone, including player dedicated servers.
