ActionJaxxsun Posted April 11, 2016 Share Posted April 11, 2016 Just got the game, learning the basics etc etc. Spawning in the zones marked (easy) Question being, I am constantly getting pummelled by wildlife of crazy high levels, is that normal? On an official server, the difficulty is set to max, so the dinosaurs you find around the map range from 4-120. Renesis89 Posted April 11, 2016 Share Posted April 11, 2016 From level 1-20 i died prob about 30 times all to dinos but i didnt care because you keep all the engrams you learn and farming for the basic mats(wood, thatch, stone, flint) were really easy so i didnt mind. Coggage Posted April 11, 2016 Share Posted April 11, 2016 Dying is a bit irritating but isn't game-breaking in any way unless you lose some nice gear. It could be down to where you choose to spawn - some areas are death-pits to newbies, but some areas such as the SE corner of the map, for example, are pretty safe. Main objectives when you spawn on 1 lvl is to survive make some house as fast as possible. even 2x2 thatch... then start to build some more, bigger house and you will lvl fast. if you dont want to die so easly, lvl up in healt to about 250-300... then you have chanse to survive or escape... FireStormRising Posted April 11, 2016 Share Posted April 11, 2016 I just recently restarted my single player and logged in on the SE beach and was mauled by two Dilos.....one being a 120! If you're gonna die, might as well be epic. Yea, it's frustrating, but it really does get better and those early stupid death stories really are funny when you are level 80 sitting in a metal base. Enjoy the challenge! Build something ASAP for shelter Pay attention to your surroundings Make a storage box....put most stuff in box This last go around, I put points into my run speed and stamina and health and ran away from raptors and dilos and often freight train them into something else to eat while I sneak away. The southern islets area is a bit less stressful when you are starting out for example. The swamp or snow biomes are extremely dangerous. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
