Ithrynn
Anyone else have trouble taming roll rats? Okay, so I wait ‘till it burrows and then I toss honey at the hole, got it. I’ve successfully tamed a few rats now, so I must be doing something right. But of the 30 or so pots of honey that I’ve tossed at underground rats, most of them haven’t been eaten. I’ve yet to tame a rat with a decent taming effectiveness. Most of the time I drop the honey on the hole, it disappears, the rat doesn’t get any taming, but rather its taming drops, and I get more frustrated. Inconsistent success is worse than total failure! What the heck is going on with roll rats and dropping honey? Is there a trick to getting decent taming effectiveness with these rats? Please tell me your experiences. Vaculity
Trap it inside a trap or so, then always get ready to toss it with the hotbar holding the honey the moment it has burrowed fully. You only get a few second before It unburrows. This'll also make it safe from most predators, unless they happen to wander too close.
LORDARK
As the rat dives the entire body into a hole throwing honey, note if you are away more than 2 and a half feet away from the rat, the honey will not fall close enough.
