AnnabelTamara
How often do the drops appear in the same place. I saw two in the same place really close and now I’m waiting and it isn’t coming. Last time it appeared as I was stood there.
Markdh31788
They fall randomly and there's a set number of drops that can be on the map at a time. When someone picks up a drop or it despawns another one will begin to fall
Brayn
Markdh's post is somewhat accurate. However, drops are each in different "zones". Carno Island (NE part of the Island Map) is its own zone. That zone only has 1 drop. Every time you pick up the drop on Carno Island, another drop will spawn in one of the 6 or so locations. The location is chooses is random. The mountain just across from Carno Island has, I believe, two drops in that zone with probably 12 or 13 possible locations. The zone is a little larger than the mountain itself. If you want a drop to spawn in a particular location, the only thing you can do is continuously pick up every drop that falls in that zone as it becomes available. A new drop will start coming down at another random location in that zone shortly after you pick one up. AFAIK, there is no map out there on the web that shows drop zones. You can sort of see the drop zones on any explorer map. The drops will show on the map as potentially being X,Y,Z color and be tightly grouped. Assume that a grouping of drops nearby that can all be of the same variant are in the same drop zone. Meaning you would need to keep picking any of those drops as they fell in order to increase your chances of getting one to drop where you want it. Lastly, the herbivore island drop shares a zone with the nearby mainland drops.
