Bajadasaurus Dossier Species: Bajadasaurus Aquamantisia Temperament:Territorial Wild Bajadasaurus Aquamantisia is notorious for its extreme territorial behavior even to the most peaceful of creatures. Most apparent about the Bajadasaurus is that some have Sails along their neck While some have horns because of the species’ sexual dimorphism. When they're not busy running down another creature, bajadasaurus enjoy being in water spending most of their time there but travel back to the jungle when it starts to get dark out. (extra info, not in dossier) I have heard numerous stories of the infamous Bajadasaurus Aquamantisia suddenly attacking and causing great damage to villages. These creatures truly are the jack in the box! When they're not busy running down another creature, bajadasaurus enjoy being in water spending most of their time there but travel back to the jungle when it starts to get dark out. Bajadasaurus are a perfect example of sexual dimorphism; the females are less aggressive and sport 2 neck sails that they flare to frighten oncoming attackers, while the males have an array of spines on their neck. They also release a pheromone that makes them more aggressive when they inflate their neck sac. While the females of the species rarely attack unless provoked first, the males of the species are the polar opposite and even pick fights with rival males or other creatures that get too close, even herbivores! Taming Because of their less aggressive manner, before attacking female Bajadasaurs will flare their sails but will not proceed to attack if you drop them some fiber, after a while hand-feed the female to gain her trust. Although i have seen a tamed Bajadasaurus male its owner did not want to say how one might time this valuable creature. (extra info, not in dossier) It is fairly common to see two bajadasaurus males fight and while they won't kill each other, they may leave each other incredibly wounded. However, as I have seen firsthand, this is the only way that one can attempt to befriend them because of their awful temperament. During A clash between two males you must help one outbest the other and after the losing male skitters off the winning male will follow you, pondering if it needs to attack. At this time you want to feed it some medical brews to take care of those gnarly injuries. Females are much simpler to tame on the other hand, just drop them some fiber , but don’t get too close or they might become weary and attack. After a while they'll be okay with you hand feeding them. Domesticated Bajadasaurus specializes in gathering fiber and wood; however, they can crush even the hardest of stones. From quick feet to neck maneuverability, bajadasaurus are shockingly mobile for their size and become even more so after they've had a quick dip in some water. While a great mount to keep around , i'll have to continue to test how to mate bajadasaurs in captivity (extra info, not in dossier) An allied bajadasaur are excellent gatherers of fiber and wood, they can even crush the hardest of stones. These creatures are surprisingly mobile for their size and become even more so after they've had a quick dip in some water. During my studies, I've observed that these beasts simply refuse to mate while in captivity…I wonder what's their favored condition for mating. Gameplay -Can fit into the smaller boss arenas when using the toggle neck mode - Excellent swimmer -Saddle Will be placed under the head -Large Oxygen Stat -Larger than Amargasaurus but much smaller than the brontosaurus Spawns -Shallow Sea water -streams/Rivers -Jungles -Always in groups of 3 (2 females and 1 male,or 1 female and 2 males) Taming Female-get close enough to where the female will flare its sails at you then drop it some fiber. At 50% taming you can now hand feed her the fiber and this will give more percentage than just dropping it to her Male-while two males are fighting, help the male injure the other male that you do not want to tame. When it reaches 20% health it will run off. The winning male will then approach you before attacking if you do not have medical brews in your inventory. If you do have medical brews it will then lean its neck down to drink them. Breeding -For some weird reason, tamed bajadasaurudae seem to only want to mate while they're in water. -If a bajadasaurus egg is hatched while in water the baby will be granted a permanent buff called “Water Birth” that works similar to imprinting and can be stacked with it. -However, be careful to not let the baby drown before the egg hatches! Sexual dimorphism -Females lack the neck horns but are adorned with sails that can flare out before they attack or when they feel threatened, when doing this they cause a fear effect by making themselves appear larger. -Males lack the sails but instead have an array of horns protruding from the neck region. They also have a neck sac that can be inflated, causing the release of a pheromone that enrages the dino for a period of time. Passive Abilities -Pressure Dive: The deeper down in the bajadasaur goes the more damage it will do. from 1x at the surface to 1.5x at the lowest point in the ocean -Accelerates slowly while running -Hydration buff when in contact with water (similar to spino, increasing speed and damage) -filled water containers in the inventory activates the hydration buff -rain activates the hydration buff until it stops raining -A toggle neck mode allowing the creature to lower its neck to dodge projectiles or fit into places it previously could not fit into. -immobile turning Resources/Harvesting -Cannot harvest berries/seeds -only eats fiber -Great wood and fiber gatherer -can also gather fiber from trees -Organic polymer can be scraped from skin (similar to leedsichthys) -drops organic polymer when harvested -males can harvest rocks with neck spine sweep -Females can harvest rocks with stomping tantrum Behaviors -runs away from a fight when at low health (similar to spino) -at sunrise groups will leave jungles and go to rivers/lakes/shallow waters. At sunset groups will return back to the jungle -in the wild it will attack anything thats gets too close to it unless it is bigger than the bajadasaur itself or just a very small creature (this includes herbivores) -absolutely hates (tamed) amargasaurus and will always try to kill them -in the wild Females will flare its sails at a creature coming too close, only if it comes even closer then the female will charge and attack the threat -males just attack anything coming too close with no warning (unless bigger than itself or just too small) -males may may get into fighting matches where they clash horns, not killing each other but the one with its health lowered to 20% first will run off -males who just left a fight with each other will become more like the female in terms of aggression (stares down a creature coming too close, only if it comes even closer then the male will charge and attack the threat) Moveset Left click-left/right foot stomp Right click (Female)- Stomping Tantrum: Goes on hind legs then slams down Right click (Male)- Neck Spine Sweep Spacebar-Toggle Neck Mode: lowers neck down to shoulder level C -Tail grab: Can grab small creatures and players (raptor and smaller) Right click (while creature in tail)- Downward tail bash X -(female)- Bellow: sails flare out and causes a fear effect (similar to yuty) on smaller creatures and takes reduced amount of damage when attacked X -(Male)- Bellow: Neck sac becomes inflated and causes a rage effect on the dino giving it boosted speed and damage output Inspiration/idea Links Gender dimorphism based on the differing view of how bajadasaurus actually looked-Bajadasaurus - Wikipedia Aggression-Bull - Wikipedia Territorial factor,Male Sparring-Goat - Wikipedia Female flaring neck sails-Deception in animals - Wikipedia Male inflatable neck sack-Gular skin - Wikipedia

Zalophus japonicus - Japanese sea lion
ApocalypseGal posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Name: Japanese sea lion Species: Zalophus japonicus Time: 1970’s Diet: Carnivore/Piscivore Temperament: Friendly, Playful Sea lions are known by their exterior ear flaps, their long fore flippers, and a big chest and belly. They have a thick layer of short fur that covers a thick layer of blubber which keeps them warm in the sea. Wild: You will be able to spot these aquatic mammals spending there day relaxing on the ark’s beaches/coasts or swimming through the sea hunting for their desired food, they these versatile hunters can be found hunting alone or in packs, they are able to catch fish and other small marine creatures at ease. They are very playful social animals you may even see them playing with each other, you might even spot them swimming and playing with the dolphins. I have heard from other tribes that they are so friendly that they would even swim right up and try to befriend you. I also heard stories about how these creatures have been spotted saving those at sea. These sealions have adapted to be agile, not only are they able to navigate the sea at great speed just like the Ichthyosaurus, but they too can move decently on land also. Domesticated: Once you have tamed one, they become a valuable companion, there swimming abilities make them an excellent water exploration mount. They seem to be able to sense when people are in danger and are quick to notify and aid those in need. over time they create oil just like the basilo/tuso. Abilities and features these are just some of the idea’s I had imagined for some features of Zalophus. Lifeguard: this would be a sense allowing them to detect when a survivor is in low in oxygen and in danger. Breath of fresh air: Zalophus can blow bubbles which will replenish survivor’s oxygen, giving them that extra time to make it to the surface. Air/healing bubbles: a separate ability when they spin/splash about in the sea creating air bubbles with a range around Zalophus, these air bubbles could act providing air to multiple survivors/tames for a period of time within the bubble range, it could also have a healing affect within that range and only for this ability. Insulation: Since their body is made up of thick blubber with an added layer of short fur to keep them warm, I think they should be able to provide a insulation to keep survivors warmer in the cold sea Shock resistant: since they have thick blubber it could make them resistant to the shocks of eels and jellyfish. Oil supply: naturally generates oil after a period of time. agile swimmers: are incredibly fast and can navigate the sea very well. pack boost: with other sealions/Ichthyosaurus. Perform: They are able to preform a clapping animation that gives passive xp to nearby dinosaurs. Behavior: The sea lions are not aggressive until they are attacked, they are super friendly and will even approach survivors. If attacked, they can fight back by biting or with a fin/tail thump. Drops: Raw Meat Raw Prime Meat Oil Blubber Taming: Since they are so friendly and playful One must first toss them a fish to feed them and start the taming process, afterwards you must swim alongside them (either freely alongside them or mounted kind of like the Equus/diplocaulus but maybe with one had around them swimming with them) and repeat the process, until you have tamed your very own sealion. You can learn more about Japanese sea lions from these sources: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_sea_lion , https://www.today.com/pets/dolphin-seal-are-underwater-bffs-flna878362- 14 replies

Wild: Palaeoisopus, or as it's more commonly known as the Giant Sea Spider, is a horrifying sight. Found at big lakes and rivers, these creatures will stick near the surface, somehow clinging on the surface tension with its long legs, like some baby snails have been seen doing back on earth, waiting for its next meal, usually a pelagornis or other surface dwelling sea bird, however it's not opposed to eating fish and other creatures. Once it spots its prey above water it will slowly glide towards it, making sure not to break the tension, before lunging all its legs around the poor critter and being dragged down with it. If it somehow survives, they won't live for long, being injected with a toxin that drains stamina and reduces the victims durability, as well as letting the giant sea spider track it for long periods of time and distance, it won't be long until it eventually ends up being the spiders meal. Domesticated: If you, for some reason, want to tame one of these horrors you'll need to trick it into grabbing a tranq grenade by throwing one on top of it, making it lunge out of the water and getting snoozy from the gases. However, it can't get knocked out in your traditional way because of its reflexes, so once it's stunned from the narcotics you'll want to feed it its preferred food, be that meat or kibble, before it snaps out of it and goes back to its usual position. Repeat this a few times and viola, you've got a giant sea spider of your own. As for the uses of these creatures, many coastal tribes use them as a natural land mine... or sea mine, kind of a combo of those two. They will slow down rafts going over them, and sink any smaller object that goes over them. They're also great travelling companions, being fast both on land and in the water, and because of their reflexes, armor and reflexes they're able to deflect basically any projectile thrown at them! Not only that, but their toxin allows them to track any animal or boat for miles, in case you want to take that on later! Alright, that was kind of a long dossier, but I didn't really know how to make it more compact. Anyway, the Palaeoisopus is an extinct genus of sea spider that lived during the Lower Devonian period. Obviously I've scaled them up a lot, up to around the size of a bloodstalker. Since they weren't actual spiders I'm not giving them any silk or web abilities, but with it being a mainly water-based mount it doesn't really need any of those. Their use is mainly pvp related, being able to deflect most projectiles and acting as obstacles for rafts and other surface-based mounts, but they can be useful to pve survivors, acting as a tracker for anything it hits, which it can do without drawing aggression to itself because of how terrifying it is, and because all it takes is a small scratch for the toxins to take effect! Truly a horrifying freak of nature. As for why I chose just this species, well, tc is full of water, so having a semi aquatic just fits, and I love spiders and any creature that looks like spiders. Anyway, lets get to the good stuff... Passive Abilities: Tension Surfer - The Palaeoisopus can glide on the surface tension, both bellow and above water! This ability is activated with turret mode while swimming near the surface, or automatically after leaping out of the water. While in this state, if on aggressive, it will lunge either out of the water to drag its prey out of the water, or leap into the water and grab whatever's under it, trashing it with its claws and fangs, dealing large ammounts of toxins. If the thing above or bellow it is too big to grab onto, like a raft or a bigger object, it will just do a flury of slashes, dealing large ammounts of toxins. The effect the toxins have include draining the targets stamina, making them take more damage from any source, and tracking them for a set distance. Terrifying - No creature will aggro onto this creature unless they're hit first. This effect is nullified by the ammonites bile. Wall Climb - Lets this creature climb on walls or the sea floor. Climbing walls out of the water drains stamina. Jumping will launch you upwards. Input Abilities: RMB - Slash - Slashes forward with one of its claws, dealing toxin. LMB - Scratch - Scratches the target, dealing next to no damage and doesn't aggro any creature hit by it but inflicts its toxins. Mainly used to weaken or track a creature to find or fight later. C - Tension Surfer - Went in on the details above, but this is a quicker way to set ur creature on it. While in this state you're able to do the ambush attacks yourself or leap out of the water to get to higher places or catch flying creatures. X - Deflect - Stand up on its hind legs, having its other legs ready to deflect any incoming projectiles. These won't be fired right back at wherever the sea spider is looking unlike, lets say, Genjis reflect, and bigger stuff like rock throws and rocket launchers can not be deflected, unless it wears its tek suit. Speaking of which... TEK suit A tek suit available after beating the centre boss(es). While charged it will be able to deflect any projectile right where the spider is looking, dealing damage to anything hit by the deflected projectiles. This suit also allows the spider to jump further out of the water. Also enhances its tracking, allowing it to track poisoned targets for even further. BTW I didn't really come up with a genus name, so uh yeah that's that. Anyways, here are some referance pictures. The first two are reconstructions of the Palaeoisopus and the second two are what I got the idea to make it a tension surfer from, and what that'd kinda look like (don't make it a snail). Oh and arachnophobia I guess, don't kill me.

Protathlitis Description: The protathlitis are aggressive reptiles that roam around coastal regions killing any animal they can find. They are about 36 feet (11 meters) long and weigh about 2 tons, they have a long crocodile-like head with serrated teeth, they have 2 short arms with large claws, and one long stripe going from head to tail. Taming: First you have to stun it with bright light and then while it's stunned you have to ride it and try not to make it mad, like completing the on-screen prompts such as button pressing, moving in a certain direction, and riding it towards a specific creature it wants to kill, once the tame meter fills up its tamed. Utility/Abilities: Hunter Vision: Gives the creatures (and the rider) night vision and heat vision, but drains their hunger significantly Shedding: Every so often they shed their skin, which can be harvested using scissors, and made into absorbent substrate with a mortar and pestle or chemistry bench Agility: They have extremely fast agility, both on land and in water, which means they have significantly more stamina and oxygen Attacking: They have 3 attacks; A simple claw attack, a bleeding bite attack, and a dash attack Dossier: Wild “Protathlitis are lone killers that roam around coastal regions, murdering anything they can using their serrated teeth and sharp claws. to better kill prey they have evolved to have heat vision and night vision.” Domesticated “When domesticated the protathlitis become skilled members of a tribe helping with attacking and transporting. Because of their aggression, they are difficult to tame but very worthwhile. Their shed skin can even be crushed up to make absorbent materials” Extra Ideas: Combat mode: Lock onto specific animals and track them Tek saddle: Maybe to match combat mode, homing missiles??? Hope you enjoy!

The Austroraptor A Super Fast Dinosaur
SmilingBread posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Before reading this is my second creature submission, no I don't have concept art, or animations of its abilities, because I idk how to do all of that stuff. No I don't friends or acquaintances to do that for me. This was a idea that was made by me, and no one else helped. So thank you if you voted. If you need pictures of what it looks like, just go to Google and look up austroraptor. The Austroraptor or (Southern Thief). Is a unique raptor, it's only a bit smaller but also faster than the regular raptor. The austroraptor doesn't love hunting in groups unlike the regular raptor. These creatures love water and fish. You will usually see a austroraptor or two near rivers and lakes trying to catch fish. They will usually even make nests near these rivers and lakes or on the shores. But you won't have to worry they aren't aggressive towards humans. They don't like to pick fights with similar sized creatures. Unless their is multiple austroraptors they will pick a fight with creatures bigger than them. If you do attack them be warned they should not be messed with. As they make their opponents suffer, by bleeding them out to death. If it know it's a losing battle it will run away. These creatures are probably the fastest creature in the ark so good luck catching up to them. Taming one of these austroraptors is extremely hard, I heard that you must hunt with them to gain their trust. You could also risk your life and try to steal its eggs out of one of its nests. These will make a great early to mid game tame for your tribe. Allowing you to get out of sicky situations both on land and water. Also allowing you to tame stronger tames with its speed, I wouldn't recommend trying to kill a tyrannosaurus with a austroraptor. Austroraptors have many unique abilities. I heard that if you give a austroraptor a lot food it will go into a frenzy causing it get stronger, but this could backfire causing it go into the rage similar to giga. May want to stay away. It also can sense creatures underwater around them very useful if you don't want to get killed. These creatures can gather prime fish meat from any aquatic creature which is incredible. 1. Its first special ability is it being able to sense other creatures in the water. Once activated it lasts 30 seconds and the creatures that it sensed or smelled will pulsate red. 2. The second special ability would be frenzy, this ability would allow the austroraptor to get a 5% to 10% stat boost when fed a certain amount of food. Let's just say depends on the level of the dinosaur and its food stat is. Ex: For a Lvl 130 Austroraptor it would take 6 stacks of raw meat or raw fish meat or 30 prime fish meat or prime meat, to activate the ability. Downside: It could go into a rage like the giga, the more you activate the ability the higher the chance. The only way to stop its rage is to wait 10 minutes or knock it out and wait. Also yes this would have a cool down for 15 to 45 minutes. 3. It's last special ability will be able to collect prime fish meat from any fish or dinosaur including the creatures that you can't collect prime with, unlike any normal creature. How to tame: There is a couple ways to tame this creature 1. Stealing its eggs out of its nest. This would require you to steal a egg out of a austroraptor nest which would be surrounded by 3 or 4 austroraptors. 2. Helping a austroraptor hunt, after finding one if you see a austroraptor attacking another dinosuar kill the dinosaur to start the taming process. Then you be given three random reasonable creature that you can kill. Depends on the lvl of the survivor. The austroraptor will follow during this process. Base stats: Health: 320 Stamina: 1080 Oxygen: 1080 (maybe no oxygen stat) Food: 1500 Weight: 260 DPS: 28 Topor: (Depends on the level) Saddle requirement: 35-

Anatosaurus hiruphagus, the Fever Deleter
Serpent1cular posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Good afternoon, survivors! After being stumped on what to do for this contest, me and a fellow 'Retrosaur' loving friend have imagined the perfect counter to that pesky airborne virus that plagues the safe zones of every map.. May I present the wonderful, splendid looking and immaculately moisturized hadrosaur.. THE ANATOSAURUS! The Hadrosaurs are a family of dinosaurs that I hold close to my heart, and as an enjoyer of older depictions of these animals I thought that ARK could really do with another duckbill in its roster - and especially one with a twist like this.. Dossier Common Name: Anatosaurus Species: Anatosaurus hiruphagus Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Omnivore Temperament: Neutral (Aggressive towards bug repellant) Wild An oddity amongst its relatives ornithopods. They are native to the steamy swamps of The Center’s ring and possess an amphibious lifestyle, spending their days happily grazing upon aquatic vegetation and occasionally dousing their slimy bodies in mud to protect against the harsh sun. Coincidentally this behavior also acts as a form of medication, covering over open wounds and cleaning them of debris. This however is largely irrelevant, as at full maturity an Anatosaurus is too large to fall prey to predators with the exception of a lucky Sarcosuchus. Herds of Anatosaurus will often slumber peacefully upon riverbanks, their unique odor attracting droves of flies and other nasty insects. It is to be noted however that whilst a predominantly herbivorous creature an Anatosaur will never pass down an opportunity to devour its favourite treat, leeches - a craving that swamp dwelling survivors have learned to use in their favor. Domesticated Due to their apparent disdain of bug-repelling gel, the act of taming an Anatosaurus is one fit for only the most daring of survivors. These strengthened few have been documented allowing leeches to suck onto them and then wading around until one of the hadrosaurs is drawn to the scent. With one of the parasites latched onto their body the survivor will find soon themselves in the clutches of a hungry hadrosaur, eager to lap down their offering. It is a lengthy process, but by no means is it worthless. Once tamed, Anatosaurus can make for robust beasts of burden within the territory of a developing tribe. Their use as a mount both above and below the water allows them to be utilized in a variety of tasks, namely aqueous foraging and exploration. Whilst not impeccably fast nor strong the hadrosaurs are capable of dealing with a variety of threats by either being steered by their jockey to fight, or to simply flee into the nearest lake or river and make an escape. However the most notable service an Anatosaurus can provide is, oddly enough, its viscous saliva, the production of which can be manipulated upon the animal's consumption of silica pearls. This fluid can, in moderation, be used as a stand in for leech blood in the production of the lesser antidote - an item of high demand in populous areas. Due to the potential obscurity of the ingame dossier, I feel it is best to formally chronicle Anatosaurus' taming method and usage here. TAMING Not unlike recent additions to the game the method of taming an Anatosaurus is quite different than your standard "knock-out-and -feed" creature. The way the player goes about obtaining this buffalo-like beast is quite engaging, as it requires a fairly coordinated plan as to not perish in the swamp's murky waters. Anatosaurus is by default a neutral creature, however in the presence of a player wearing bug repellant it will quickly grow to become hostile. This is because in order to gain its trust, you must feed the hadrosaur its favourite treat - the disgusting leeches - and to do so you must let the parasites latch onto you. With a leech (or multiple) on you, any Anatosaurus within a certain vicinity will grow attracted and make their way over. They will then reach forward and pick up the player and pluck the leech(es) off of you, before dropping you to the ground and carrying on. The more leeches on you, the more the taming bar increases, and proportionally as does the cooldown between feedings. Similar to other passive tames if the hadrosaur happens to take any creature or player induced damage then the bar will reset, however their large size does make it so that usual swamp life such as Titanoboa and Kaprosuchus rarely bother going after them. They will be attracted to you, though.. STATISTICS Since it is ultimately the devs' decision in case I hit a stroke of luck and get voted through I will not be going over specifics in stats for the Anatosaurus. I will provide a rough estimation made by my friend for it's base stats and spawn rates however, but take this with a grain of salt. (Stats at Level 1) Health - 500 Stamina - 200 Oxygen - 400 Food - 2500 Weight - 300 (Spawns) Only in swamps with a rate of 1 every 40 minutes. Doesn't get targetted by swamp animals with the exception of Sarcos but will be attacked by other non-swamp life upon getting close to them. USAGE Anato is all around a fairly decent mount that will serve a middle game tribe quite well in the exploration department. Its running speed is slightly slower than fellow ornithopod Iguanodon, however it burns through stamina much quicker. In the water however the Anatosaurus is capable of swimming around as fast as the Baryonyx, and its stamina consumption is decreased immensely. As for combat, it is the epitome of average. If need be an Anato can defend itself from smaller threats and is by no means defenseless, but when it comes to a pack of Allos or other larger theropod it is best to steer clear. It is because of this reason that it is advisable to stick within a brisk sprint to a water source to make an escape if nescessary. Anato would also possess two mouse abilities; a simple arm swipe tied to LMB, and a pick up for RMB. Now, onto Anatosaurus' main three abilities; the serendipitous slobber, carrying and its skin care rituals. MUD BATH Being an amphibious creature it made sense to give this Anato the ability to coat itself in wet sediment to give itself the aptly named 'Mud' buff. Preferably requiring you to be standing on ground close to water, an Anatosaurus can be whistled to give itself a luxurious dousing of mud that will temporarily grant it a 50% resistance to bleed as well as increased healing. The buff will last around 5 minutes at most and have a 10 minute cooldown in order to even it out. This ability will give it just that little bit more protection out in the field, plus you cannot lie that it fits the whole rompin' stompin' aura that this hadrosaur emits. When mounted this ability can be activated with at default the C key, and will grant the player a temporary heat resistance buff - the perfect dino to cool down on a hot summers' day! One thing to be noted however is that this mud coating will wear off as soon as you enter water. This is to encourage land exploration with the buff active. ANTIDOTAL SALIVA Have you ever logged in to a server only to find the spawn zones plagued with beach bobs spreading Swamp Fever to every last person who enters? Ever wished that there was a way to make the tedious process that comes with making the antidote.. A little less so? Well, those days are no more with a tamed Anatosaurus in your tribe! Due to living in one of the most revolting places known to man the Anatosaurus has grown unbothered with the mere concept of infections, and its craving for leeches has made it immune to the nasty pathogens found in the parasites' systems. It is because of this that the hadrosaur is a living cure for the scourge of Swamp Fever. It's bodily fluids are revered by tribes due to their medicinal properties, and its saliva in particular, which can be harvested from a tamed Anato's inventory roughly 10 seconds after feeding it a proportional number of silica pearls, which is placed in the hotbar and fed with "E". The cooldown is short, about 30 seconds. It is to be noted that high level Anatos require more pearls whilst low levels require less, so fairly standard. This saliva can be used as a substitute for leech blood in the recipe of lesser antidote vials, making the Anatosaurus an impeccably useful tame even long after its days of exploration are over in an apex level tribe. CARRYING Tying in to its use as an exploration mount the Anatosaurus possesses the charming ability to pick up smaller creatures and even certain structures in its webbed hands and bring them along on your escapades! Of course there is a limit for both, with the largest creature able to be carried being the player, and for structures it is the small item box. This means that the Anato would be useful as a means to set up temporary camps along your routes, or even assist in the moving of small tames and storage from one base spot to another. Whilst (hopefully) self explanatory, I thought I'd disclose the fact that when holding an object/creature, the Anatosaurus will not be able to use its LMB swipe attack. THANK YOU FOR READING! I hope you like this unique take on a (relatively) obscure dinosaur! -
https://imgur.com/gallery/9p4AtLZ Species: Koolasuchus dualitas Time: Early Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Neutral *dualitas means duality in latin* Dossier Wild: Koolasuchus dualitas is commonly found both within the waters of the mysterious subterranean world found under these islands as well as the massive floating island at the center of the island chain. Koolasuchus dualitas received it's name due to its perplexing nature, despite being large and intimidating, these semi-aquatic predators seem to mostly float aimlessly in the water and tend to ignore most wildlife unless provoked. Keyword: Most, as Koolasuchus dualitas gets into a frenzied state when it senses any species of fish regardless of size. It is unknown as to why Koolasuchus dualitas reacts this way towards fish, some survivors speculate that it might be that it really loves eating fish. Domesticated: While wild Koolasuchus are too oblivious tho any non-fish creatures around them, survivors were able to lure young Koolasuchus infants with prime fish meat and raised them to adulthood. As an adult, survivors were able to take advantage of its frenzied state to hunt down fish as well as having Koolasuchus dualitas act as a guard dog protecting boats carrying cargo from Leedsichthys. Some crafty survivors were also able to build a special saddle that works like a miniature combat submarine that utilizes the Harpoon Guns that can even shoot small torpedoes. Koolasuchus dualitas is coated in a slime that makes it immune to the electrical attacks and makes it slippery to be grabbed on to. So how would you tame Koolasuchus? Well as the dossier states, you can only tame the infant Koolasuchus which will resemble large Axolotls. Similar to how Ichthyosaurus approaches you, the infant Koolasuchus will approach you so long as you have Prime Fish Meat in the last slot of you hot bar, from there you can passively feed the infant until tamed, from there you can imprint it or wait until the Koolasuchus is an adult. Tamed Koolasuchus will only eat fish so make sure you have fish in your inventory to feed them. https://imgur.com/gallery/JbyAlai What can it do? - It's "Fish Frenzy State" works similarly to the "Bug Killer" buff of the Megatherium, only with Fish Creatures instead, thus doing increased 250% damage to all non-fish creatures during the buff, 375% damage to all fish creatures, and 75% reduced damage for 120 seconds (Shadowmane would also be included in the list of fish that trigger the buff as Shadowmane shares many traits lion fish). - It's immune to the shocks of Electrophorus and Cnidaria - It has two attacks, left click does an bite attack (45 Base) and a right click attack that does a spin similar to Baryonyx (exept no stun) (90 Base) - Can be ridden with/without a saddle but when it has its saddle, the Koolasuchus had a Turret Mode where the rider can use Spear Bolts, Tranq Spear Bolts, Net Projectiles, and Grenades as ammo. Similar to how Dinopithecus combines Feces and Grenades to make Infested Grenades, the Koolasuchus would combine Spear Bolts and Grenades to make Torpedo Bolts, which do the exact damage as Grenades to Structures underwater and damage equal to Saddle Quality to creatures when hit. - The Koolasuchus Saddle would provide riders oxygen when underwater and protects from getting dismounted - It can't be picked up or grabbed by any creature such as the Rhyniognatha and Tusoteuthis - Same movement speed as the Sarco when in water but slightly slower than the Sarco on land - Can gather Fish Meat, Prime Fish Meat, Black Pearls, Oil (from Basilosaurus), Biotoxin, Angler Gel, and Chitin very well What would it look like? Well in the pictures provided in this post (Art all handdrawn by me cuz I'm not good at digital art), I incorporated different features from several species of salamander and newts, primarily Crested Newts, Emperor Newts, Fire Salamanders, and Japanese Giant Salamanders to add into a possible design for Koolasuchus dualitas. I also used Axolotls as an inspiration for the infant Koolasuchus. Koolasuchus would be larger than the Sarco but smaller than Spino, and yes I know Koolasuchus was large but not THAT large, but remember that many creatures in ARK have exaggerated sizes (Just look at Desmodus and Rhyniognatha). As for it's saddle, it would resemble a miniature submarine with a Harpoon Gun under the submarine part of the saddle. https://imgur.com/gallery/TTBMP6l How would this creatures be balanced? - So in order for Koolasuchus to not be over powered, first I would like to show you the potential stats it would have (Used Sarco, Spino, and Ark Additions Deinosuchus as a base to determine Koolasuchus' base stats): *Health: 975 *Stamina: 500 *Oxygen: N/A *Food: 1600 *Weight: 450 *Melee Damage: 100% *Movement Speed: 100% (It would be stronger than the Sarco but weaker than Karkinos.) - In addition to that, Koolasuchus will be as fast as the Sarco in water but would be slower than the Sarco on land. - "Fish Frenzy Buff" would be useless on land as there would be no fish to trigger the buff unless you go to a pond. - Turret mode is pretty much useless on land as they do less damage and have shorter range unless you're using Net Projectiles as ammo, exactly like using a Harpoon Launcher on land - Depending on the Saddle Quality, the damage done in Turret Mode is the following: 1) Spear Bolt) (Does not work on Land) - Primative: 300 - Ramshackle: 360 - Apprentice: 420 - Journeyman: 480 - Mastercraft: 540 - Ascendent: 600 2) Tranq Spear Bolt (Plus 100 Torpor over time)) (Does not work on Land) - Primative: 30 (300 Torpor) - Ramshackle: 36 (350 Torpor) - Apprentice: 42 (400 Torpor) - Journeyman: 48 (450 Torpor) - Mastercraft: 54 (500 Torpor) - Ascendent: 60 (550 Torpor) 3) Net Projectile) Same on every tier (Works on Land too) 4) Torpedo Bolt (Towards Creatures) (Does not work on Land) - Primative: 500 - Ramshackle: 600 - Apprentice: 700 - Journeyman: 800 - Mastercraft: 900 - Ascendent: 1000 Loading of Ammunition is the same speed as when loading Ammunition on a Harpoon Launcher - Koolasuchus Saddle would be unlocked around level 75 - 90 and require 6 Oxygen Tanks, 1 Harpoon Launcher, and an assortment of Cementing Paste, Polymer/Organic Polymer, Metal, Silica Pearls, Black Pearls and Crystal So why vote for Koolasuchus? 1) Currently ARK only has two amphibians, Diplocaulus and Beelzebufo, with one being situational at best and the other being useful in many aspects. Amphibians in ARK are very under-represented and there are many interesting prehistoric amphibians that could be in the game. 2) It would be nice to have a new aquatic/semi-aquatic creature than can be used when exploring the ocean that we don't have to worry about being stun-locked by Electrophorus and Cnidaria, as the only other aquatic tames immune to them are Basilosaurus and Tusoteuthis. In addition it would also be immune to the stuns effects of the Shadowmane and its saddle will protect you from being dismounted by Shadowmane 3) It makes sense for the Center as they're an ancient species of Salamander, and many Salamander species reside in lakes, caverns, and swamps which the Center has plenty of. 4) Currently we have Tropeognathus acting as a bomber plane and Andrewsarchus acting as a All-Terrain Vehicle with a mounted Gun Turret, and Rhyniognatha literally being a Living Apache Attack Helicopter, I think with both air and land covered, we need an aquatic warfare creature to complete the trio and I think Koolasuchus would make for an interesting Mini War Submarine for aquatic combat. 5) It would be nice to have a combat based aquatic mount that have unique buffs as the Koolasuchus' "Fish Frenzy Buff" would make it the equivalent of Megatherium and help out alot in fighting the Megalodons and Leedsichthys of the ocean as well as for hunting Alpha Megalodons and Leedsichthys. It would also be very useful in taking down Moeder from the Genesis Part 1 map. In addition to that I'll cover how it will be useful in the Center, then how Koolasuchus will be used full in other maps whether on PvP and/or for both PvP and PvE. The Center: - It's saddle prevents you from being dismounted, this will prevent you from being dismounted by creatures such as the Kapro when traversing the swamp - Because it's saddle provides oxygen as well as its ability to use Tranq Spear Bolts and Net Projectiles as ammo, it would be a good mount to aid in taming other aquatic creatures such as Mosas, Sarcos, Megalodons, etc. - It wouldn't get damaged by deeper water like how the Basilosaurus would get damaged thus allowing you to swim deeper to get the underwater Artifacts - The Center is surrounded by water that is heavily Infested with Megalodon and Leedsichthys and the Koolasuchus would gladly get rid if that problem for players as well as protecting their boats when traversing the oceans of The Center. Outside of The Center (PvP): - The Torpedo Bolts that you can shoot in Turret Mode would allow players to have an effective way to raid and thwart the underwater bases of the tribe they're raiding - It's immune to being grabbed by any creature such as Quetz, Wyverns, Tusos, and Rhyniognathas thus being an especially good counter to Tusos - It's saddle protects you from being dismounted by enemy dinos - While other ammo is useless when Turret Mode is used on land, Net Projectiles still work well on land and make Koolasuchus a good support as it can net fliers down as well as other creatures that can be trapped by Net Projectiles - "Fish Frenzy Buff" may be situational for other fish tames but it will really come in handy when combating other Shadowmane as its slime would also protect from Shadowmane's stun as well as the Koolasuchus Saddle protecting you from being dismounted Outside of the Center (PvP and PvE): - Koolasuchus would allow players to tame aquatic creatures such as Mosas, while in the safety of a tanky mount with the aid of Turret Mode, for example you can use a Net Projectile to trap a Megalodon and then tranq it with Tranq Spear Bolts - Its immunity to shocks make is an effective ocean mount, especially for maps such as the Ocean Biome in Gen 1 - Would be very effective to use against Moeder because of its "Fish Frenzy Buff" just like how Megatherium's "Insect Killer" lets it be very effective against the Brood Mother - Its immunity to Tuso grabs makes it an effective tame to aid in taming Tusos as well as making them effective in getting the loot that Tusos drop when killed

Introducing Irritator, The Stealth Spinosaurid Common name: Irritator Species: Irritator Aquafluctus Time: Early Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore / Piscivore Temperament: Opportunist Dossier: Wild: " While walking along the beach I had a surprising sight, an Irritator resting close to the shore, this spinosaurid easily identifiable by its crest and streamlined body is a fast and agile predator, adept at stealthy ambushes and quick pursuits. More than an ambusher the Irritator is an opportunistic specialist in taking advantage of the environment around him, which makes him secure his place near the top of the terrestrial and aquatic food chain. " Domesticated: " Taming an Irritator is not easy, however the tribes that have managed to tame this spinosaurid say it is worth the risk, those who manage to tame this creature are rewarded with a very versatile loyal semi-aquatic companion. With proper training your Irritator can be ridden on battle or used to cross bodies of water quickly, and thanks to its innate agility and impressive capabilities grant its rider the advantage in underwater combat, making it an invaluable mount for both underwater exploration and combat. " Introduction: Hello survivors, all quiet? I hope so, I present The Stealth Spinosaurid, The Irritator. The Irritator is a spinosaurid similar to Baryonyx, it would be a medium spinosaurid being smaller than Spinosaurus but larger than Baryonyx, the main idea is to be a versatile semiaquatic mount playing the role of marine exploration mount in PvE and stealth combat mount or combat support in PvP. Wild: The Irritator is mostly found on beaches and rivers where it spends most of its time resting or hunting. Face to face with a player the Irritator will act peacefully, but it's better not to let your guard down when you're close to him because the Irritator can even be a predator, but above all he's an opportunist and will attack you when you least expect. Like other carnivores, when seriously injured, the Irritator will not hesitate to run away, but before running away, the Irritator will emit a high-pitched roar that will make all nearby creatures angry, making them attack you and will take this opportunity to escape into the water. Taming process: To tame this spinosaurid, you must complete 2 steps: The first step is to drag a fish close to him, as soon as he eats the fish you must be quick and mount him, soon after you mount him he will run towards the water where he will dive in order to drown him. and if that doesn't work he will try to knock you off him and when he tries to do that you must feed him fish meat. As soon as you feed him, the second stage will begin where after he is fed he will calm down allowing you to guide him and when he does that you must hunt fish with him until he is tame. Tamed: Once you've tamed him you don't need a saddle to ride him, however his saddle will be much more useful for those who want to explore the oceans as his saddle has a built in scuba. Once tamed, the Irritator makes the perfect sea exploration mount, being an incredibly fast swimmer and having the strength to take on any sea creature that opposes you and your Irritator, plus out of the water the Irritator can store water in its throat that you can use to attack other creatures or to refresh you and your creatures by granting the hydrated effect to yourself and your allies. Saddle: The Irritator's saddle is unlocked at level 55 with his saddle the Irritator gains a new passive skill "Aqueous Ambush", in addition, the Irritator's saddle has a built-in scuba Description: The Irritator saddle is equipped with an advanced stealth technology that allows the rider to initiate a swift and stealthy aquatic ambush. When activated, the Irritator submerges itself and its rider in water, becoming nearly invisible to enemies above the surface. While submerged, the Irritator's movement speed is significantly increased, and its attacks deal bonus damage upon resurfacing for a surprise strike. Aqueous Ambush: Activation Cost: Moderate amount of stamina Cooldown: 90 seconds Duration: 10 seconds (submerged) The "Aqueous Ambush" ability offers a tactical advantage for hit-and-run tactics and ambushes. Players can use this ability to quickly close the gap between their target while hidden underwater, deliver a powerful strike, and then disappear back below the surface. This ability is particularly useful for surprising enemies, escaping dangerous situations, or dealing a devastating blow in PVP engagements. Effects: - Upon activation, the Irritator and its rider dive underwater, becoming nearly invisible from the surface. - The Irritator will be slowed down while using this skill. - Attacks performed while resurfacing have a bonus damage and inflict a brief disorienting effect on the target. Actions: Left Click: Venomous Bite, Irritators possess a venomous bite that inflicts not only immediate damage but also lingers, dealing continuous harm over time. Furthermore, their bites weaken the stamina of targets, reducing their ability to escape. Hold Right Click: Suction, Irritator uses its suction ability to store water in its throat and then spit it out at its enemies or its allies. (The more oxygen points it has the more water it can store) R: Sniper Mode (Similar to Velonasaur), in this mode the Left Click will now be a shot of a chargeable water projectile that deals damage if carried can cause stun and the Right Click becomes a water jet that deals damage to the player and the mount in addition to having a great knockback. X: Disorienting Screech, by emitting a piercing screech, Irritators can disorient and stun nearby enemies for a brief period, granting themselves and their allies a window of opportunity to strike. C : Tail Spin: The Irritator have a powerful tail spin attack that knocks back and deal damage enemies in a radius around it. This could be particularly effective for dealing with groups of smaller creatures. Ctrl: Fountain, Irritator will fire stored water upwards spraying water in a circular area granting the hydrate bonus to self and allies. (This ability grants the hydrated bonus even to creatures that don't normally have this effect, such as Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, and Tyranosaurus) Passive Skills: - Deals double damage against aquatic creatures such as mantas, plesiosaurus, dunkleosteus and megalodons. - Eating fish will give you increased health regeneration speed (Same as Argentavis buff when eating dead animals) - The more the Irritator runs the faster it will get (Same applies in water) - Has the hydrated effect (Same effect as Spino, Tropical Wyvern and Shadowmane) Increases damage, movement speed and health regeneration. - Irritator have a immunity to Cnidaria and Electrophorus stun. Utility & Scenarios: PvE: The Irritator in this scenario could play the role of a water mount, as it has a high speed of movement in the water and strength enough to face the dangers that the ocean has to offer, in addition its skills with water can help you on land thanks to its ability to hydrate itself with the water it stores in its throat. PvP: In this scenario the Irritator can play the role of Support for allied creatures since its ability to splash water in an area gives its allies the hydrated effect making them faster and cause more damage, besides that it can also serve as turret protecting your base with your water projectiles that can cause stun being excellent against flying creatures being able to knock them down making them subject to attacks on land.

Wild "If you are ever swimming through the vast oceans, you'll want to keep an eye out for Tethysaurus. These galvanised proto-mosasaurs have electric capabilities similar to Electrophorus, being capable of shocking prey to corral them, almost like a sheepdog nipping at the heels of the flock. However, a singular Tethysaurus can only corral small fish. It is when they group together that they become a real threat. I once saw a pod of 20 or so Tethys manage to corral a Leedsichthys away from their breeding grounds! other survivors have also claimed that Tethys are capable of speeding just above the water's surface, but I myself am unsure if they speak the truth." Tamed "Adult Tethysaurus are nigh impossible to domesticate, with many who have attempted it having met a shocking end. The only survivors I have met who had tamed Tethys had made a daring journey to the bottom of the sea to steal Tethy eggs from their two breeding grounds; located within strange air pockets that shouldn't exist. However, those that succeded gained a powerful ally, with tamed Tethys being able to scare off even the most dangerous oceanic predators with their electricity. Some tribes even use them when raiding others, for despite their slow land speed they can emit a constant electric field to jam electronic devices." Taming To tame a Tethysaurus, you must steal an egg from one of the underwater domes deep in the oceans of The Center. Once you have done this, you must hatch said egg and raise the baby to adulthood, and voila, your own Tethysaurus. Abilities Left click: Bite (Low damage, quick, applies a very weak bleed) Right click: Electric burst (Can be used even when being stunned by electrophorus & jellies, deals moderate damage and pushes enemies back) G: Ability Wheel (Choose which abilities are assigned to C & X) Ability Wheel: 1: Directional Shock (Causes target to move in the opposite direction to the one you shocked them from for 3-6s) 2: Electric Field (Disrupts electronics within a certain radius which only the rider can see. Use carefully, as it also disrupts allied electronics) 3: Electric Bolt (Charge-up attack, deals anywhere from low to high damage, stuns enemies within drag weight limit) Space: Jump (Leap out of the surface of the water) Hold Space: Ionic Flight (Hover just above the surface of the water/the ground constantly moving; other abilities cannot be used) Release Space (Only in Ionic Flight): Ionic Burst (Launch yourself high into the air, disables Ionic Flight) Passive 1: Pack Boost (Tethysaurus gains a bonus to damage resistance and output when in the presence of 1-9 other tethys, with said bonus scaling with the amount in the pack) Passive 2: Drag Limit (Tethysaurus can only affect up to drag weight 20 creatures on its own, but that limit scales with the amount of Tethys nearby even if they aren't in a pack with one another, with the upper limit being 2,000) Saddle The Tethysaurus saddle is insulated with organic polymer to allow survivors to stay warm even in the coldest waters, while also protecting them from the shocks of cnidaria and electrophorus

Ichthyovenator - Phantom of the Deep
TheBuderMaster64 posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Icthyovenator, Phantom of the Deep Icthyovenator laosensis “Fish Hunter” Early Cretaceous (Aptian), Approx. 125 - 113 MYA Spawns: Red Zone waters, and Green Zone waters. Neutral until hungry A Spinosaurid from Laos with an immense appetite and wonderfully horrific, endless throat pouch to go with it. Wild: As if Baryonyx and Spinosaurus were not able to rule enough of the waterways, Icthyovenator has made its place in the ecosystem right where they have not. These spinosaurids are surprisingly placid compared to their cousin, only becoming aggressive when it comes time to feed. Should something disturb their meal, or something more appetizing show itself, Icthyovenator will quickly change course. Though it isn’t like it needs to do anything in order to catch itself something different. The strange sounds it is able to make can surely lure just about any creature, I’m convinced. Domesticated: If one can brave Valguero's treacherous rivers and overcome the prospect of setting fish into the water for Icthyovenator to snap up, they would find themselves with, probably, the best aquatic mount for traversing the many rivers and lakes of Valguero. The unique properties of the throat sac allow for a wide variety of utilities, including both solidification of liquid elements and condensing of gas! The singing also allows for the gathering of large amounts of fish meat. Combined with Icthyovenator’s speed and power, there’s very little that can challenge this steed in Valguero's deepest depths. Attacks Left click: Bite Hold right click: Start suction R: Change target creature ammo C : Spit X: Start/Stop song Ctrl: Swallow - Bite has a turnaround similar to Sarco. - Bite speed is similar to Carno. - Decent land speed, both walking and running. - Fast underwater but not agile. - Holding C can aim the spit better. Singing The Icthyovenator has a lovely bellow it is able to produce that sounds similar to a tuba mixed with an alligator’s territorial bellow. You can use X in order to start (and stop) this song, which brings you into a minigame much like the Mammoth’s. While playing, the Icthyovenator will start to lure in creatures around it. The better you play, the bigger creatures you can attract! Better songs will also slightly increase the range. When under the effects of the song, creatures become passive as if they were being lured by bee honey. Other details about their singing: - Throat lights up when singing. - Attracts wild fish, making them easier to net, trap, or kill. *Wild Icthyovenators can only lure aquatic creatures. Suction Another feature of Icthyovenator is their suction ability. This goes into their fish-slinging ability later but has other features that could come in handy. When used on fish, manta rays, angler fish, and other small creatures, the Icthyovenator sucks them up and stores them in its gullet, much like a regular fish trap (but without the spoil timer). The size (drag weight) and amount of creatures it can store are dependent on the Icthyo’s own weight stat. The Icthyo can choose to either spit out or swallow any creatures in its throat. If it swallows something with items in its inventory, the items will appear in the Icthyo’s inventory. Other details about their suction: - Can be used on dropped items and bags. - Can be used on many different liquids. - Some items and creatures sucked up can be swallowed (CTRL) for different effects. - Effects for swallowing: — Fish: Healing (similar to Argentavis). — Angler Fish: Gives angler gel. — Water: Hydrated status. — Liquid Element: Solidifies into Element Shards. — Narcotics/Biotoxin: Temporary tranquilizing bite. *Icthyo cannot swallow as many things as it can use for slinging. Effects can easily be added. - Swallowing Trilobites and Eurypterids has a higher drop rate of silica/black pearls from them but gives less Chitin. Fish Slinging Icthyovenator’s offensive capability is not to be shrugged off. With certain items and creatures available, the Icthyo is able to launch them out of its mouth as a projectile. Each projectile has a different effect. - Liquid Element: Projectile that deals DoT when hit with it. - Angler gel: Flammable, glowing puddle. Leaves target glowing. - Fish: Simple projectile. - Manta Ray: Temporary stun. - Water: High knockback projectile. - Nameless Venom: Gives rabies when directly hit, leaves puddles that can lure Rock Drakes. - Gas ball/Gas vent: Suffocating smoke grenade. - Narcotics: Tranquilizing projectile. - Players: Simple projectile. Taming To tame the Icthyovenator sounds like an easy task but, in reality, it is more challenging than you would expect. Simply grab a fish basket filled with delicious fish and wait until the Icthyovenator starts “singing”. Once it starts, release the tamed fish into the water where it is starting to lure other wild fish. The Icthyo will eat the fish and taming will progress! The amount of taming it gives depends on the species and size of the fish you give the Icthyo. Coelacanth gives the least, then Piranha, Sabertooth Salmon, and finally, Anglerfish give the most. Other details about taming: - The Icthyovenator will start to drool just before it’s about to sing so you have time to place the food. - While Icthyo is neutral when it wanders, they grow aggressive during feeding times and will quickly turn on you if you get too close. Ghillie is recommended! - Feeding Icthyo an Anglerfish will leave it glowing and confused, but satisfied! This allows you more time to get away from it. Eogyrinus - The Electrifying Lightpet Assistant!!
RealCyberKaiju posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Eogyrinus - The Lightpet Assistant This large Amphibian is a little bit longer than a Sarcosuchus and about as powerful as an Allosaurus. Similar to the Sarco, it is fast in the water but slower on the land, but unlike the sarco it has more purpose on land than you might expect. This amphibian in this malfunctioning ARK has gained the ability to store electricity from glowbugs within itself which can be used offensively, defensively and also for recharging your glowpets when domesticated. It will be a Passive Tame with a charge battery but only when protective gear (Hazmat suit) is worn to protect the survivor from the electricity. This should make the exploration of the lower levels a little easier but not before going through the challenge of grinding resources for a hazmat suit. It also provides more use for the underused charge battery. Temperament: Neutral (Will become enraged if attacked or attempted tame without hazmat suit) Utility: The Eogyrinus will gain charge from eating Glowbugs which can be used to recharge glow pets when out exploring. That’ll keep the Nameless at bay for longer. Charge can run out so be sure to keep them nearby. Very Fast Swimmer but slowish on land. Mountable requiring saddle. (Two people can ride at a time!) The Bite attack from the Eogyrinus will be able to stun targets when charged. While charged, the Eogyrinus will be shocking to the touch and will throw you off your mount! While there is a cooldown for this ability you can wear a Hazmat Suit to mitigate it. Eogyrinus is immune to being shocked by Cnidaria, Electrophorus and shocking tranquilizer darts; this protects the rider from being knocked off the saddle. Attacks: Bite (Stuns the target similar to Baryonyx Tail Swing. Only has secondary effects when charged) Tail Whip (Knocks targets away but deals less damage than the bite) Hiss (Deals no damage, just a roar type move) Charge Pulse (Light Pets within its radius will be recharged. Can only be used while charged) Taming Method: The Eogyrinus is a passive tame requiring a charge battery. However you cannot tame it without a Hazmat suit. If you try passive taming without the protective gear, you will receive a nasty shock and the Eogyrinus will begin to attack you. -
Name: Styletoctopus Species: Styletoctopus annae TIme: Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: Almost indistinguishable from the corals beneath it, Styletoctopus usually lies between the flora of the varios Lakes in the Bioluminesence. Unseen by almost all Lifeforms due to its amazing camouflage Ability, making its usually glass clear Skin appear the same Texture as the groung below it. Only moving when prey is swimming within its reach. Taming: When a Survivor gets grabbed by Styletoctopus's tentacles, they will try to consume their victim immediately. As they quickly get closer to the beak of this Creature, the need to struggle will grow rapitly. The only chance at that point is to heavily injure its softer vulnerable parts. Making Styletoctopus flee and seemingly vanish into the terrain itself. Some Survivors have even tried to force feed the Octopus live Lamprey, while in the process of being eaten alive. While this is very dangerous for the limited time you have left at that point, seems to surprisingly work to slowly gain its trust and escape a gruesome death. Domesticated: Styletoctopus is seemingly one of the most versatile mounts for traversing these giant caverns. Being able to safely travel, unseen by most predators, thanks to its camouflage Ability. Its a fast swimmer and a capable underwater hunter. It enjoys cracking open any crustacean it can find. Making it perfect for hunting down Karkinos and harvesting an amazing amount of Polymer and Chitin at the same time. Even capable of going onto land to hunt, for up to an hour at times. Though very slow on Land it only needs to enter water for a couple of seconds to restore their limited time. It can even slowly climb vertical surfaces aswell as easily fits into columns and holes it proportionatly should'nt even fit in. In combat Styletoctopus will try to overwhelm its opponent by holding down or grounding them and slowly whittling down they're health until eventual collapse. Survivors have used this Ability to let this Giant Octpus hold onto they're bigger mounts, to better move Styletoctopus around. When their mount falls of cliffs or into pits Styletoctopus will try to shield the Creature from the incoming fall damage and has even been seen slowly carrying they're mounts up the cliffs where they have fallen of. Concept of a Styletoctopus clinging to a tamed Rex mount: Potential Moveset: Styletoctopus could be able to turn in place Primary Attack (Left Click): Directional Singular Tentacle Attack Secondary Attack (Right Click): Grab for small creatures, that will get sqeezed to death, slowly doing more and more damage Heavy Attack (C): Grab with its whole Body, clinging onto bigger Creatures slowly scrapping of their health with no way of getting them off until their death Feel free to share your critiques or new ideas!

Protochelydra, the anti-flier swamp savage!
LagiSG posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Common name: Protochelydra Species: Protochelydra zangerli Time: Late Paleocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Breedable: Yes Rideable: Yes Wild: Protochelydra zangerli is a creature I've had the displeasure of encountering in the waters of the ARK multiple times in the past. It resembles an alligator snapping turtle, except if it was the size of a Diplodocus with the aggression of an allosaurus. Protochelydra usually hunts as an ambush predator, using its worm-like tongue to lure in smaller prey and eat them, much like its modern-day counterpart. Unlike the alligator snapping turtle, however, if the Protochelydra fails, it will immediately charge at its prey, ramming into them to stun them, and finishing them off with its incredibly powerful bite. It's surprisingly quick despite the obvious factor of it being a turtle, though it seems to only be capable of short bursts of speed on land. In the water, it's quite quick, making escaping it in the water unlikely. One's best bet in terms of combatting this titanic turtle is to wear it down from a range. I've observed Protochelydra displaying high levels of aggression towards Spinosaurus, usually immediately upon spotting one. The two commonly fight, but on most occasions both creatures will come out alive, merely wounded. Protochelydra seems to enjoy preying on Sarcosuchus and other semi-aquatic predators, as well as Paraceratherium, DIplodocus, and toher large herbivores. It's recommended to keep these creatures away from an area with Protochelydra present. Domesticated: From what I've seen, Protochelydra is an excellent choice for one to tame. It's heavy defenses and powerful jaws allow to menace foes, and many that haven't seen it don't expect it to charge at them. A very technologically advanced tribe I've met attached cannons to its shell, allowing it to deal with flying enemies with ease. Combined with its defenses, it's able to combat threats on land, sea, and in the sky! Taming: Protochelydra would be given bait by the player, which it would use to lure and eat other creatures. Perhaps one could even sacrifice their own tames in this process. Larger creatures would yield higher taming effectiveness and progress on the taming bar. Saddle: The Protochelydra saddle would have anti-air cannons on its back, and be unlocked around level 70 or so. The rider would be in an enclosed seat, protected from harm and provided with infinite oxygen. It would have a corvus at the top front of the shell that could be used to board enemy platform saddles and rafts, as well as get on buildings. Spawns: Protochelydra would spawn in basically any in-land body of water on the map, as well as in the swamps and marshes. ----------------------------------------------------Abilities and uses -------------------------------------------------------------- -Bite: The left click attack of the Protochelydra. Hold left click to charge the bite up for a high damage attack that only has it's damage reduced by half the normal amount that the enemy's armor would normally reduce. -Rushdown: The right click attack of the Protochelydra. Short burst of speed that deals decent damage to multiple enemies. Applies a slowing and bleed debuff and activates the corvus (roman naval boarding device, it would merely extend, not lock Protochelydra in place). -Shell Armor: It's shell reduces damage taken by 20%. Protochelydra can retreat into its shell, bringing the resistance up to 50%. While in this state, Protochelydra can use two more abilities. This makes it excellent for tanking, especially in bossfights. -----Cannons: Protochelydra's rider can control its cannons, which deal decent damage on their own, but either have a 50% damage boost towards fliers or knock them out of the air. It's important to note that other tribemates can control the cannons while its not in its shell, but the rider gains the ability to do so. -----Shell Spin: Protochelydra can spin while retreated in its shell. It cannot move while spinning. While spinning, it removes any debuff it has and if it's being grabbed by anything large enough to pick it up (Rhyniognatha and Tek Skiff), the spin releases it from its grasp. If on the ground, it spawns a temporary shrapnel hazard that deals average damage to grounded creatures but high damage to flyers and bulky creatures, further making it a threat to them. The Shell Spin would also knock enemies back, acting as a "Get off!" attack. -Lure: Protochelydra can have bait placed on its tongue, acting as a more effective fishing rod. On top of this, it would also be capable of attracting creatures without triggering their aggression. -Aquatic Affinity: Protochelydra does not need oxygen, and it moves quite fast underwater. It would also gain the hydrated buff. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I decided to submit Protochelydra as I'd love to have a giant snapping turtle in the game. I think they're pretty interesting and underappreciated animals. Ark only has 2 turtles in the game, one of which is a fantasy creature, and the other merely exists as a soaker and sacrifice creature. I would like to note that while yes, a giant turtle with cannons on its back is similar to a certain monster from a successful franchise, no, I didn't base it off that. I was like halfway through making this thing when I realized the similarity. Please consider voting for Protochelydra, as it would be a wonderful addition to the game. Though my post obviously isn't as well made as some other posts I've seen, I do think it deserves a chance. Image source: https://twitter.com/TomHoltzPaleo/status/1312001720940138503-

amphibian Rhinesuchus The mud skipping Amphbian
Kaizilla posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Dossior Description Wild Rhinesuchus is the largest Amphibian I Have ever seen; however, in a place like this, it's wondering how this animal survives in this environment astonishes me. This unique animal adaptation causes it to convert itself from a cocoon similar to a lungfish and go into a hibernation state. The cocoon seems to have plentiful resources such as black pearls, biotoxin, and cementing paste. After closer examination, I have discovered that Rhinesuchus constantly secretes liquid from its body, causing the dry ground around it to turn into mud to cool it down. When water is scarce, it uses its mucus to moisten the soil to make it is swimming in the ground at astonishing speeds. It moves at such speeds that I have witnessed it ambush a raptor and be dragged down to the ground, drowning it in the process. Rhinesuchos has been observed to swing mud with its tail at potential prey and predators. The mucus of this massive amphibian laced with dirt seems to create a type of poison that causes a state of paralysis to go unconscious and later causes death to the victim. Domesticated To tame this monster, you must drag it out of the water and wait until it gets dehydrated. Then you must use a cold tek canteen, pour water on its body, and give it some fish or black pearls. You got yourself a Rhinosuchos. Rhinesuchus can be used to convert the chitin in its inventory to black pearls when tamed. This creature's mucus can also be used as a substitute for a biotoxin. Rhinesuchus can also be trained to create mud craters with its body, causing any potential enemy towards the crater to sink to its demise. The mud also can heal allied creatures as it rejuvenates them Description So when coming up with this creature, I realized that scorched earth lacks oceanic resources like Biotoxin and Black pearls. You can only get by killing Death Worms. Also, we lack amphibian species as we only have the beezlebufo and the Diplocalus, so it would be cool If we had another amphibian in the game that is viable for scorch earth and possibly when transferring to other maps. Regular spawns So in the wild, Rhinesuchus will be a neutral creature that can span all over the map; however, the way it spawns is unique. In areas of water, the creature will spawn like any other creature; its temperament will be similar to a dire bear as they don't attack unless you get too close to the water, but if further away from the water, it will only attack if provoked. Cocoon spawns But when they spawn away from water, they spawn inside a giant mud cocoon instead of being a wandering animal. This spawn method is similar to giant bees as they only leave the cocoon when it is destroyed. I got this idea from the 3rd Walking with Monsters episode, as the Rhinesuchus had cocooned itself in extreme conditions. However, suppose you decide not to destroy the cocoon. In that case, you can open the inventory of the cocoon like a beaver damn as the cocoon contain resources such as cementing paste, black pearls, and a new resource, Rhinesuchus mucus, which can be used as a substitute for BioToxin. Wild behavior. When provoked, the rhinesuchus will attack anything; however, this creature will target invertebrates over anything. Wild rhinesuchas can grab creatures and swim in the soil as the mucus on their body turns the sand around them to mu,d giving them the ability to swim in the ground. When the ground is swimming, they can drag creatures the size of a saber tooth maximum with their jaws and bury their prey to death. It can also, through the mud at enemies, causes a debuff called toxic paralysis which causes the enemy to freeze solid, drains health, and raise torpor. If you attack rhinesuchas, you will take a type of thorn damage that increases torpor called The touch of death. How to tame To tame this creature, you must first keep them out of the water and surround them with heat to dry them out. Fire can work, but it's at risk of killing it. But you could also scorch earth heat wave weather event can dry them out naturally without hurting it. After it's dried out, use A Cold tek canteen to put it in its rehydrating state. When it's rehydrating you can feed it Exsiptional Kibble, Biotoxin/mucus Black pearls, or Raw fish meat. Then, after all that, its tamed Once Tamed, What does it do, and how does it function Passive ability The rhinesuchas, once tamed, can do many things. It has Immunity to poison-based attacks, and It passively produces the Mucas in its inventory, so you can have a subsite for Biotoxin. When attacking insects, it can gather Black pearls from them as it converts the chitin to Black pearls. Attacks Left click is a Standard Bite. Right Click does the dragging bite that can be used to drag drown creatures up to a Sabor Tooth size and drown them. Space can make it jump out of the ground. Left click and space makes the launching bite attack, which does more damage and inflicts the toxic paralysis debuff. C Is an AOE attack that causes the rhinesuchas to swing its body around and use its tail to throw mud at enemies. CTRT Just moves the creature from standard ground mode to mud swimming mode Note: when in ground mode, its slower, and all it can do is a bite attack Note: I haven't designed it yet, but I will make a concept of the saddle resembling a jet ski mixed with a doom buggy. The Environmental Effects of scorched earth affect the Rhinesuchas I wanted this creature to be affected by scorched earth environment for its adaptable nature, but scorched earth weather can affect the rhinesuchas functionality. Thunder Storms: Thunderstorms do not affect the rhinesuchas Rain: Actually, give The rhinesuchas a buff called hydrated buff. This buff can only work during Rain and will NOT activate when entering the water. This buff provides faster HP regen and stamina, Increased damage, and increased Movement speed. Sand storms: It's immune to the sand storms' effects giving players the ability to travel through annoying sand storms instead of waiting them out Heatwave: When the rhinesuchas is in a heat wave, it will go into its dehydrated debuff causing, which causes it to take damage over time, similar to a baslio, and you will not be able to go into mud swimming mode as it completely dried out. Also, during a heat wave, the rhinesuchas will no longer be able to inflict its thorns damage. Weakness: The rhinesucas Is weak toward heat-based attacks, so fire from wyverns, Flamethrowers, Amagara, and Magmasaurs Will cause the dehydrated Debuff, but it will still be able to go to mud swimming mode but is significantly weeker when on fire. Combating The Dehydration debuff: You can get rid of the debuff by putting the rhinesuchas in water or using a cryopod. Other uses Muddy Sink Hole Trap: The rhinesucas can be used as a stationary sinkhole trap. It has different effects based on a creature's drag weight; small creatures will sink to instant death, medium creatures will be trapped in the sinkhole as the rhinesucas begins to attack and attempt to drag them down, and large creatures don't skink at all but can be slowed down by the sink hole. To break the sinkhole, explosives will work at getting destroying the sinkhole and getting the rhinesucas out. Blackpearl farm: Its a great black pearl form insects in a simler way to how a Beezlebufo can gather cementing paste from insects Note the heatwave Does not inflict Dehydration debuff when in this Sinkhole mode. When in Water The rhinesucas is also helpful in water, having some different abilities in water than on land. I wanted to show what this can do when transferred out of Scorch Earth. Left click: Standard bite Right Click: this is a lounging bite attack. 😄 The C attack activates a buff called rejuvenating mud: basically, this ability acts similar to a dadedon healing ability though it only works in water. It also Heals fully aquatic creatures quickly, while semiAqutics don't heal as quickly. As with more water, the mucus gains healing qualities. CTRT: CRTL activities the mud mist, which AOE attack of a cloud of muddy ink that does the same debuffs as the C attack on land Its also Immune to Jellyfish stings -

If you guessed the carnufex carolinensis then you would be right. Land or water there is no escaping. They are truly a force to be reckoned with due to their versatility. With teeth that are sharper than a serrated blade and claw like nails any creature would surely feel it strike. They usually hunt at night mainly in packs due to their poor defense skills. But don't be fooled with just one of them being able to stir up chaos; one doesn't need to imagine what a full pack can do. Then due to their hunting habits of ambuhing in the dead of night, they have developed fangs and claws that can weaken and even slow the target of their cruelty and keep them from fleeing. All in hope of lowering the time in between their next meal. domesticated If by luck you domesticate the crazed overly aggressive carnufex then get ready for the ride of your life. The carnufex is an amphibian and wont need air underwater. They are some of the fastest creatures, be it land or water. They make little sound for their weight, almost none at all. After some testing we have found domesticated carnufex are better in packs and not just do to their sheer number. The strongest female can roar and cause the others to move more savagely than normal. It’s like the boost raptors get but for agility then combat. If that's not enough to make you shake in fear then it will be very concerning to know that they are even stronger after getting wet making it a good idea to try and build your camp near some kind of water im sure even a well will work. They will recover from damage faster and their bite will sink deeper. The carnufex is one dino your enemies don't want to be on the receiving end of. Taming If you wish to own one of the terrors you will find it not as easy as you may think. There is only one known way to tame the carnufex. on a moonless night you can find one of these monster lurking in what ever water they can find in the sandy deserts they live in. When they find a suitable target will roar calling all near by packmates to begin charging at you. during this time you can feed the pack leader. It will stop moving to eat so use this time to escape to safety or kill some of the weaker packmates but be warned the carnufex will not roar if alone making this beast very hard to tame. also be warned if the carnufex isn't hungry and won't stop when presented with food. So keep this in mine if you wish to survive an encounter. stand like this but are as big as a bary they are like the desert version of them

The basic idea for irritator is that it would be the opposite of the spino. While in water the irritator would be relaxed and therefore it would be slow moving and have very high health regen as well as little to no aggression. However, the longer irritator spends out of water the more irritated it will get. As irritator spends more time out of water its speed and damage will increase but health regen will drastically decrease and incoming damage will also increase. This would make irritator useful on every map but for different purposes. On scorched earth irritator could be a glass cannon perfect for killing targets quickly. On the island irritator could be useful as an early underwater tank. Items such as canteens or water jars could be used to temporarily negate the effects of the irritated mode if there is no water source nearby. Its taming method could be dependant on its mood eg. An irritator in water could be a passive tame but if its out of the water its a tranq tame. Should be slightly smaller than an allo. Other ideas: Angry irritators could ignore natural armour (rock golems, stegos etc) Relaxed irritator could have significantly reduced effects from certain attacks ( jellyfish sting, purlovia pounce, tranqs etc) Irritator sail could protect from extreme temperatures.

ICHTHYOVENATOR (Name meaning: Fish Hunter) BACKGROUND Ichthyovenator lived it's life like a gariel. With it's long spear shaped teeth Ichthyovenator waited in rivers for big fish to catch while occasionally resting on the sandbanks. Although this is a dino for SE I figured this Spinosaurid could fit the theme due to it's color scheme plus it could spawn around the ponds at every Obelisk 😁 TEMPERAMENT WILD Ichthyovenator's are indifferent to humans and won't be just another aggressive creature hunting you down. They primarily eat fish and won't attack unless provoked. TAMING SEMi-Simple but unique taming process. Go fishing near an avidly hunting Ichthyovenator to build rapport as well as it's taming meter. Fishing Buddy. ABILITIES Ichthyovenator should be able to sneak and charge , charging an ambush attack that penetrates armor. The Ichthyovenator can have also multiple seats because of it's long body and segmented sail fin. Adversely to regular spinosaurs in the game, Ichthyovenator could get a buff whenever the temperature is super hot. Increasing his overall defense and stamina. Also having an increase in fishing luck when nearby.

semi-aquatic Gigant Crab / Cangrejo Gigante
Dex858 posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
The Gigant Crab / El Cangrejo Gigante Wild/Salvaje: It has a bad temper, if it sees you, it is going to attack you, but it does not attack another creatures, unless they attack him, in general it is a noble and smart creature. Tiene un mal temperamento, si te ve, te va a atacar, sin embargo, no ataca otras criaturas amenos que lo ataquen, en general es una criatura noble e inteligente. Taming/Tameo: To tame this creature, you must take 25% of its life, when it lose 25% it will release a white foam from its mouth and so you will realize it, then it will begin to attack you less and you must take advantage to get closer and feed it quitina. Once tamed it prefer meat or fish Para tamear a esta criatura tendras que quitarle el 25% de su vida, cuando lo pierde, empezara a expulsar una espuma blanca por su boca, así te darás cuenta, entonces es cuando debes aprovechar y acercarte para alimentarlo con quitina. Una vez tameado, prefiere carne o pescado Tamed/tameado: Once tamed you can place a mount or a small platform on which you can make a small base as it supports a lot of weight. Una vez tameado podrás ponerle una montura o una plataforma pequeña en la que podras hacer una pequeña base gracias a que soporta mucho peso. Attributes/atributos: It is Semi-aquatic so you won't have to worry about oxygen, it swims very well and is fast underwater but also on land, it can climb walls or large trees, however when doing this the stamina wears out much faster. It has a lot of life , a lot of weight and when it is wild also a lot of damage, it has a hidden mode in which you can leave it underground, similar to purlovia, but if it has a base on top It will be the only thing that comes out of the ground. It has a special attack in which he can put his left pincer in front of him and reduce the damage taken by 70% like a shield, with its pincers it can catch other creatures smaller than it. Spawn: It spawn near rivers and beaches, in open places, it likes water and humid places, it does not like snow and even less cold. It can suffer frostbite if the weather exceeds -10 degrees and it will begin to lose life in a small amount. that is its biggest weakness. -

Strashilla Incredibilis- The Swamp Swiss-Army Knife
BewareOfJabberwock posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Name: Strashila Species: Strashila Incredibilis Time: Middle-Jurassic Diet: Piscivorous Temperament: Territorial Size: Around the same size as or a bit smaller than a Maewing Breedable?: Yes (requires submergence in water similar to Beelzebufo.) WILD Much like the other ‘bugs’ of the island, Strashila Incredibilis is a mite larger than you’d expect. Similarly unlike their living counterpart whose wings were believed to be deciduous, the Ark's Strashila appear to keep and use theirs. They tend to congregate in swamp rivers, living with—and feeding off of—fish and leeches. Strangely, the little blood-sucking buggers seem to completely ignore them. As long as you keep your distance, Strashila will leave you alone. Get especially close, and they’ll get rather cranky—not something you’ll want when these fellows can go just about anywhere! I’ve been told that a bite of fish can earn their affection, just be careful not to get too close! DOMESTICATED Once tamed, Strashila’s success in the air, land, and water makes it a very flexible mount. Water is their specialty; their wings help them dive through the water at incredible speeds. When a Strashila rider gets into a tricky situation underwater, their mount can simply launch themselves out of the water and fly off! I’ve heard that they’re a lifesaver for those hard-to-get resources in thick swamp water or in underwater caves. I’ve also heard that they make for good fishing buddies! Not only do they excrete a sweet, sticky substance that attracts some fish, but they’re extremely good at gathering the leech blood that the fishermen around here say works good as bait. They’re decent air mounts too; those large wings of theirs make gliding through the air a breeze! Gutsy survivors even use them to hitch rides off of much larger organisms! BEHAVIOR Strashila spawn in groups of 3-6 just about anywhere in swamp biomes. They can be found either along the banks of rivers/bodies of water or submerged at the bottoms of lakes and ponds. Aggro range is somewhere in-between a Dilophosaur and a Chalicotherium. If one Strashila is aggroed within a certain range of others, the other Strashila may aggro on the player as well. Bug Spray works to lengthen the time a Survivor can be near a Strashila before setting it off, but will not completely protect from possible aggro. Strashila will only attack/hunt fish and leeches, and remains passive to most other creatures unless attacked. Aggressive when engaged with. Being arthropods, wild Megatherium and Sinomacrops will aggro on them. TAMING Strashila can be passively tamed by use of Fish Meat, Leech Blood, or Prime Fish Meat. Bug Spray is advised for taming as one can easily aggravate one member of the group and set the rest off. However, if one is quick enough it is possible to quickly run up, feed a Strashila, and get outside of aggro-range before the beast is set off. Just be careful you're not running from one and straight into another! Passive Abilities -Land/air/sea mount -Flexible flight maneuverability (Similar controls to Tapejara) -Cling to walls for Stamina Regen -Fishing proficiency x2 -Dismount-proof (I.e. Riders cannot be dismounted via the likes of Kaprosuchus or Microraptor.) -x2 damage against fish -50% damage resist vs. pesciforms -Leechproof + protects the rider from leeches as well -Leech blood proficiency -Fish meat/leech blood 75% weight reduction -No oxygen bar Unique Abilities Latching: Strashila are capable of latching onto creatures larger than themselves, although this does drain stamina and cannot be used indefinitely. Attacking in this state will rapidly deplete stamina and should be used with caution. Right-clicking in this state will use a kicking attack that deals more damage, again at the cost of stamina. While not invulnerable in this state, so long as the Strashila is positioned somewhere where the victim cannot attack them back, it can avoid taking damage in a fight it otherwise may have been out-tanked in. On creatures smaller than Strashila, this attack functions much like the raptor's pouncing attack. Sap Substitution: Strashila will passively generate a Tree Sap substitute that can likewise be used in any recipes/situations normally requiring Tree Sap, at the cost of the subsitute having an eventual expiration date. Mobile Fishing Spot: Survivors can hover a Strashila over any good fishing location and easily fish from the back of their mount without worry of being ambushed by a Spinosaurus from behind. Fishing Proficiency x2: While fishing with a tame Strashila nearby, or by fishing from the back of a Strashila, the survivor is more likely to find higher-quality engram blueprints and items than usual. Also encourages fish to bite more often, and be easier to catch. Fish Damage Resist: 50% Resistance to Damage Dealt by fish (Ex: Piranhas, Dunkleosteus, any Pisciform really.) Sticky Spit: Spit attack that both blinds + slows the target If there are any good suggestions for other possible abilities to add here I'd love to see them! Overall I see these critters adding some quality-of-life to living in the swamp biome + potentially a good aquatic explorer. And I'd love to get a good versatile bug mount in-game.. Plus. There have been too many times where I was sitting by a pond fishing only to have a Theriznosaurus saunter up behind me so . A safe fishing spot would be nice x') Source links: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strashilidae https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strashila http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_tGHzOEp3UKA/TQeAk2RakqI/AAAAAAAACSk/tMEaFDLvj04/s1600/GRIMALDI_2005_Strashila_incredibili.jpg-

Name: Megacapybara Species: Josephoartigasia magna Time: Early Pleistocene Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Docile Wild: Among the creatures that roam the ARKs, one of the friendliest is Josephoartigasia magna, nicknamed the Megacapybara by the tribes that have encountered it. The Megacapybara lives in estuaries present on the ARKs, though they've been found in other bodies of water. When I first met this creature myself, I was surprised to learn the things walked around near predators that could tear them to shreds! I even saw one playing with a Baryonyx present in the estuary with the Megacapybara, as well as one with a young Sarco laying on its back. From what I can tell, the Megacapybara, similar to the Pachyrhinosaurus present on the ARKs, produces a pheromone that calms creatures and deters them from attacking it. With the help of the pheromones, it goes where it pleases, ignored by the vicious beasts that roam the ARKs. They primarily feed off of plant matter, such as grass, reeds, and aquatic plants, but I've also observed them attempting to obtain fruits that are hanging low from tree branches. They're very social animals, and will usually stay in herds, though rarely they'll live amongst and socialize with other species that share their habitat with them. Taming: Recently, I met a tribe with a surplus of Megacapybara and learned a lot about befriending these fantastic rodents. Some tribe members even gave me their secret to domesticated Josephoartigasia magna. When attempting to tame a Megacapybara, one must simply engage in a fun activity with it. Some survivors have told me they played tag with it, while others said they cuddled with it or had it follow them around. Perhaps merely feeding it could work as well, but they didn't mention that. Perhaps climbing atop its back and petting it could also work? Thankfully, they told me that the nearby predators seemed docile, and didn't interrupt the taming process, which is a relief. Perhaps I should get one for myself at some point. Domesticated: The same tribe that taught me how to tame Megacapybara let me stay with them for a while, and in that time, I've learned how they live alongside the great rodents. Within the tribe, the Megacapybara are beloved by their owners and other domesticated creatures alike. The Megacapybara get along well with people of all ages and creatures of all shapes and sizes, commonly seen playing with others when they aren't used for work. Megacapybara are commonly used to pull wagons and carts, and are very efficient at doing so, be able to pull even the heaviest of loads over long distances and all sorts of terrain. I've even seen ones outfitted with weaponry, and almost all wagons pulled by the Megacapybara have a float around the sides to allow the Megacapybara to pull the wagon across bodies of water. They have no problem with predators due to the pheromones produced by the beast, making them predator-free transport! With all these factors in mind, Megacapybara have no problem travelling across extremely long distances in short amounts of time. If more tribes were aware of Josephoartigasia magna, I could see it being very popular for both its uses as a mount and as a pet. Who wouldn't like an All Terrain Capybara? Note: Artist is unknown, I (obviously) don't own this image, credit goes to said unknown artist. In-game uses and functions: Fast-travel - The Megacapybara allows for easy fast travel, without any of the hassle of having to remove your items. This makes it easy to transfer large amounts of resources to different places across the map. To do this, you must place a new item, the travel flag, at a location. This will give you the option to fast travel to that location without any hassle whatsoever. Perhaps animation-wise, it could disappear into a cloud of pheromones and emerge from a cloud at the travel flag. Alternatively, to differentiate it from how people use Fjordhawks to fast travel, one could perhaps simply enter coordinates into a little menu available with the Megacapybara, and it will take you to those coordinates. Perhaps it could show you a top down view like with the Exo Mek. Safe transportation - The Megacapybara is ignored by all aggressive creatures, unless they are attacked by the Megacapybara itself. Allied creatures are also ignored if they're near it. All-terrain transport - The Megacapybara is capable of travelling at a surprisingly quick pace across both land and sea, pulling a wagon behind it, allowing for multiple people and creatures to come along for the ride! Wagon - The Megacapybara is capable of pulling a wagon behind it. This wagon is it's saddle. Much like how Meks have interchangable modules and some creatures have multiple types of saddles, each wagon type is a different saddle. The normal wagon is merely just a chariot, more or less. The storage wagon would have a weight reduction on resources, and would have the option to have a cover on top. It would have a few storage containers or one big one for resource transport. The combat wagon could be similar to the Andrewsarchus saddle, but possibly compatible with a larger variety of ammunition, including ammunition used by longneck rifles. The damage done by bullets would scale with this saddle/wagon. All saddles have a float around them so they can be taken into the water. The platform wagon, is just what you think it would be. A platform saddle dragged by the Megacapybara, it would be a bit bigger than the Quetzal's platform saddle but not too large. The original idea was to have it be an entirely separate entity, but it was pointed out that having wagons be separate and even be capable of being chained together would be difficult to implement, so I have changed it to being a specialized saddle. Resource carrier - The Megacapybara has a very high weight stat, and combined with its quick pace and all-terrain capabilities, makes it a perfect weight creature for those who want to move loads of resources across the map. Mobile spawn point - The cart contains a spawn point. Please vote for the Megacapybara if you want a useful resource carrying and travel creature that also allows for easy and hassle-free fast travel! Or, y'know, if you just want a giant Capybara. Either one.

Rutiodon was a massive 20-foot ( 6 meters ) crocodilian creature who lurked in swamps the swamps of the Jurassic period waiting for his prey underwater. The way it killed its prey was by waiting for a dinosaur to drink in the lake/swamp and then ambush the prey with an incredibly powerful bite that would instantly kill many of the creatures it would attack, if the attack was not able to kill the victim it would drag it into the water drowning it, and then eat it. Even tho its attacking method doesn't seem very effective against most creatures at that time, this attacking method would have taken down small creatures like desmatosuchus to big creatures like plateosaurus proving this method to be very effective. Now I want to talk about how this creature would be presented in the game. GENERAL: Instead of being 20 feet ( 6 meters ) long, it would be 26 feet ( 8 meters ) long. It appears only in swamp areas. It will hide underwater most of the time only surfacing every 5-10 mins for 30 sec. If a player or a creature ( tamed or non-tamed) is in a 65 feet radius ( 20 meters ) it will get ready to attack by opening its mouth a bit releasing some bubbles so the player can see the Rutiodon. The Rutiodon will be camouflaged in the water while it is hidden making the only way to see it being the bubbles it releases and when it comes up for air. If the creature it attacks is an ovis or smaller it insta kills the creature ( this works when tamed ). If the creature it attacks is between a moschops and a therozino it will have the ability to drag it to the water while dealing a small bleed ( this also works when tamed ). The only way to break free from the drag ability is to spam space until you are released ( breaking free from the drag also stuns the Rutiodon for 10 secs. It has similar attack damage as the rex but a bit higher, almost as much health as a paraceratherium, it has terrible speed on land but on the water, it is the fastest dino in the game. Appears in Fjodur, Ragnarok, The Isle, The Center, Valguero, Lost Lsland, Genesis Part 1, Aberration, Crystal Isles. It is a bit rare to find. TAMING: For the taming process, it is similar to a troodon's taming process, you lead a small tamed creature ( Ovis to compy ) to the Rutiodon and let it bite it making it an instant kill increasing the taming process by 15% if the level is 1-50, 10% if it is level 51-120, 5% if it is level 121-150 ( or above if your playing with higher levels than normal). If the feeding process is interrupted either by another player that's not in the tribe feeding the same Rrutiodon or the Rutiodon gets attacked the taming process will be cut in half every time one of these events happens. The intervals of feeding will vary between 5-10 mins each independent of the level. TAMED ABILITIES, FUNCTIONS, AND INFO: The materials needed for the saddle would be cementing paste, hide, metal, and chitin. This dino is meant to be a late game. While you're mounted on the Rutiodon you have the ability to toggle camouflage ( key: c ) only in the water with the Rutiodon, only being able to be detected paras ( key: control ). If you hold right click you will charge a massive bite that deals a lot of damage and insta kills ovis or smaller. If you hold left click on a targeted creature ( from a mosschop to a therozino in hight scale ) you can drag it with you ( the player stays mounted ) where ever you want ( preferably to a large water mass so the creature doesn't escape ), or you can also grip on to a big creature like allosaurus and above, the grip ability is similar to the drag but instead of dragging a dino you grip to it like a deinonychus, but the bleed is 3 times smaller than the dragging bleed. When mounted you can toggle ( key: z )an x-ray ability that lets you see any dino or player on a 165 feet radius ( 50 meters ) Saddle level: 88 If you guys have any suggestions to make this creature even better plz tell me so we can make this creature even better so the community can enjoy this creature. Pholiderpeton - The Slipping and Sliding Knockout Amphibian!
LagiSG posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Name: Pholiderpeton Species: Pholiderpeton attheyi Time: Late Carboniferus Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Reactive Wild: Within the swamps and rivers of the ARKs lies an impressive predator: Pholiderpeton attheyi, also known as Eogyrinus attheyi. Unlike their ancient counterparts, the Pholiderpeton that reside on the ARKs rival the likes of Sarcosuchus, in both size and speed. Unlike Sarcosuchus, however, Pholiderpeton isn't nearly as aggressive, nor as deadly in terms of sheer strength. Pholiderpeton will usually ignore other predators of its size, preferring smaller or weakened prey. However, if it notices another creature eating nearby, it will spring into action. This is where the toxic compounds it produces comes in. Toxins produced by Pholiderpeton can easily knock out creatures much larger than it. Pholiderpeton is capable of applying this compound to it's opposition using both its bite and a slimy substance its body can produce. Pholiderpeton will use its toxins to knock out its prey, and from there it devours the creature while its unconscious. It's long body combined with the slime coating its body allows it to find somewhere safe to rest after hunting. Taming: Pholiderpeton is a highly sought after tame due to its sleep inducing toxins. Pholiderpeton, unsurprisingly, its highly resistant to torpor inducing substances that are usually used on other creatures roaming the ARKs. Taming this fascinating creature isn't nearly as dangerous as most would assume it would be. Pholiderpeton doesn't seem to mind humans, paying no mind to them while it wanders its habitat. To gain the trust of a Pholiderpeton, one must hunt other animals in the area and drag them towards it. The Pholiderpeton will promptly devour said animal. Afterward, it will lay down, allowing a survivor to pet it. Beware, I've heard from some tribes that some of their own survivors attempted to harvest meat from one of their kills near a Pholiderpeton, which resulted in it attacking and killing one of them. You wouldn't want that happening to you, for obvious reasons. If another one of its kind is killed, a Pholiderpeton will attempt to flee rather than risk its life fighting something that can easily take out one of its own kind. Surprisingly intelligent, I'd recommend being careful what you do if you want to get one of these for yourself. Domesticated: Of the few Pholiderpeton I've seen in domestication, they all seem to be well-liked among the tribes they're owned by, due to both their usefulness and because they're regarded as cute despite their overwhelming size. I've observed tribes using Pholiderpeton to tranquilize wild creatures to knock them unconscious for taming, and they're so effective it's terrifying. They make invaluable tames for those who want to domesticate other creatures on the ARKs. However, they're not just limited to acting as walking dart dispensers. The slime previously mentioned coating the creature? Two things. One, it can be collected to be used as both a narcotic, and surprisingly enough, a mutagen, making it more likely for creatures bred in captivity to come out with a mutation. Second, it's very slippery. As a result, survivors use Pholiderpeton as a quick method of transportation. Their slime coat allows them to slip and slide across terrain, and some have even figured out how to bounce them in the air. A specialized saddle has been developed to keep the rider both on and safe from both the speed and tranquilizing slime of the large amphibian. If Pholiderpeton were more widespread as tames among tribes, perhaps they'd be useful for battle and for sport! Illustration from: https://sites.google.com/site/palaeocritti/by-group/emblomeri/eogyrinus In-game uses and functions: Tranquilizing creature - Pholiderpeton deals extremely high torpor damage, meaning players could save on time and resources that would otherwise be spent on equipment for knocking out creatures. It can apply torpor with both its bite and by spitting slime at prey. The slime is much more potent and far less deadly, meaning its your best choice for knocking out wild creatures. Narcotic production - When Pholiderpeton consumes meat, it produces a substance of slightly weaker potency to biotoxin, known as Pholiderpeton Slime. Slip and Slide - Being covered in a slippery fluid, Pholiderpeton can move around extremely quickly on land. It can bounce and body slam into the ground if it gains enough speed, and it can curl into a ball while falling to chain bounces together. It would both provide an effective form of transport and a fun way to get around, as your slippery, giant amphibian. Slippery Slime Shot - The mucus attack that deals torpor also leaves puddles on the ground that creatures can slip on, making it easier to lead things off cliffs! Mutation inducer - Much like Desmodus's Sanguine Elixir, Pholiderpeton can produce an item that assists players in breeding. Pholiderpeton Slime can be crafted into Mutagenic Fluid, which when applied to a breeding creature, increases the chance of a mutation occurring in its offspring. This chance further increases if both parents are under its effects. This allows for players to save time on mutating creatures. Base Defense - Pholiderpeton can knock out invading enemies, which would be especially effective against Stegos, which when dismounted lose their plate mode buff. Pholiderpeton Saddle - A specialized saddle that can increase the torpor dealt by Pholiderpeton. Required to ride the creature, and the engram can be learned at level 65. Pet - Pholiderpeton can be pet by the player, as well as given belly rubs. This doesn't really do anything, it's just cute. Please vote for Pholiderpeton if you want an effective torpor creature, or if you just want a really fun way to explore the map, or hell, even if you just want more amphibians in the game!- 3 replies
