  1. Wild: Palaeoisopus, or as it's more commonly known as the Giant Sea Spider, is a horrifying sight. Found at big lakes and rivers, these creatures will stick near the surface, somehow clinging on the surface tension with its long legs, like some baby snails have been seen doing back on earth, waiting for its next meal, usually a pelagornis or other surface dwelling sea bird, however it's not opposed to eating fish and other creatures. Once it spots its prey above water it will slowly glide towards it, making sure not to break the tension, before lunging all its legs around the poor critter and being dragged down with it. If it somehow survives, they won't live for long, being injected with a toxin that drains stamina and reduces the victims durability, as well as letting the giant sea spider track it for long periods of time and distance, it won't be long until it eventually ends up being the spiders meal. Domesticated: If you, for some reason, want to tame one of these horrors you'll need to trick it into grabbing a tranq grenade by throwing one on top of it, making it lunge out of the water and getting snoozy from the gases. However, it can't get knocked out in your traditional way because of its reflexes, so once it's stunned from the narcotics you'll want to feed it its preferred food, be that meat or kibble, before it snaps out of it and goes back to its usual position. Repeat this a few times and viola, you've got a giant sea spider of your own. As for the uses of these creatures, many coastal tribes use them as a natural land mine... or sea mine, kind of a combo of those two. They will slow down rafts going over them, and sink any smaller object that goes over them. They're also great travelling companions, being fast both on land and in the water, and because of their reflexes, armor and reflexes they're able to deflect basically any projectile thrown at them! Not only that, but their toxin allows them to track any animal or boat for miles, in case you want to take that on later! Alright, that was kind of a long dossier, but I didn't really know how to make it more compact. Anyway, the Palaeoisopus is an extinct genus of sea spider that lived during the Lower Devonian period. Obviously I've scaled them up a lot, up to around the size of a bloodstalker. Since they weren't actual spiders I'm not giving them any silk or web abilities, but with it being a mainly water-based mount it doesn't really need any of those. Their use is mainly pvp related, being able to deflect most projectiles and acting as obstacles for rafts and other surface-based mounts, but they can be useful to pve survivors, acting as a tracker for anything it hits, which it can do without drawing aggression to itself because of how terrifying it is, and because all it takes is a small scratch for the toxins to take effect! Truly a horrifying freak of nature. As for why I chose just this species, well, tc is full of water, so having a semi aquatic just fits, and I love spiders and any creature that looks like spiders. Anyway, lets get to the good stuff... Passive Abilities: Tension Surfer - The Palaeoisopus can glide on the surface tension, both bellow and above water! This ability is activated with turret mode while swimming near the surface, or automatically after leaping out of the water. While in this state, if on aggressive, it will lunge either out of the water to drag its prey out of the water, or leap into the water and grab whatever's under it, trashing it with its claws and fangs, dealing large ammounts of toxins. If the thing above or bellow it is too big to grab onto, like a raft or a bigger object, it will just do a flury of slashes, dealing large ammounts of toxins. The effect the toxins have include draining the targets stamina, making them take more damage from any source, and tracking them for a set distance. Terrifying - No creature will aggro onto this creature unless they're hit first. This effect is nullified by the ammonites bile. Wall Climb - Lets this creature climb on walls or the sea floor. Climbing walls out of the water drains stamina. Jumping will launch you upwards. Input Abilities: RMB - Slash - Slashes forward with one of its claws, dealing toxin. LMB - Scratch - Scratches the target, dealing next to no damage and doesn't aggro any creature hit by it but inflicts its toxins. Mainly used to weaken or track a creature to find or fight later. C - Tension Surfer - Went in on the details above, but this is a quicker way to set ur creature on it. While in this state you're able to do the ambush attacks yourself or leap out of the water to get to higher places or catch flying creatures. X - Deflect - Stand up on its hind legs, having its other legs ready to deflect any incoming projectiles. These won't be fired right back at wherever the sea spider is looking unlike, lets say, Genjis reflect, and bigger stuff like rock throws and rocket launchers can not be deflected, unless it wears its tek suit. Speaking of which... TEK suit A tek suit available after beating the centre boss(es). While charged it will be able to deflect any projectile right where the spider is looking, dealing damage to anything hit by the deflected projectiles. This suit also allows the spider to jump further out of the water. Also enhances its tracking, allowing it to track poisoned targets for even further. BTW I didn't really come up with a genus name, so uh yeah that's that. Anyways, here are some referance pictures. The first two are reconstructions of the Palaeoisopus and the second two are what I got the idea to make it a tension surfer from, and what that'd kinda look like (don't make it a snail). Oh and arachnophobia I guess, don't kill me.
  2. Wild - Acrocanthosaurus is one of the largest therapods ever, almost reaching the size of rexes. They're known to walk around wherever prey exist, hunting primarily sauropods and other large prey, hunting for big game with their serated teeth that they use to bleed out their target rather than using brute force. Sometimes they even group up in groups of 2-3 to have an easier time hunting strong prey. A single kill can keep them fed for weeks, so they will usually be seen lazing around in the sun, unbothered by our presence - so long as we keep quiet and don't point any weapons at them. Domesticated - People have used their tendencies to laze around when full to their advantage. By feeding them something big - usually a bronto or diplo, they will start trusting you and lay down. When they're on the ground, you can feed the huge lizard kibble or petting it. However, if you stay too close for it for too long it will get annoyed and start attacking again. A tamed acrocanthosaurus is a valuable member of any hunting party, being able to carry up to 6 people on its back plus a rider, and its bleeding bite being fatal enough to fell even the largest of sauropods. I've even heard tales of people using packs of acros to take down titanosaurs! Okay, that's the dossier done! Just want to talk a bit about this suggestion before diving into its abilities. I know that one of the most popular mods rn has an acro, and I don't mean to steal it, I just really like acros and I think it looks cool. So I'm giving it a completely different role from the ark additions acro to distinguish them. Anyways, onto the abilities. LMB: Bite - A simple bite. Deals bleed that works even on bosses RMB: Ripping bite - Rips a chunk of meat from the creature hit, dealing massive bleed and damage, but takes stamina to use. C - Roar, just cool, no special effect Temperament - Normally neutral/territorial, aggressive against big herbivores except for the titanosaur. Will turn aggressive against players that come too close to it, or if any player stay near it too long while it's being lazy, but will quickly loose interest if the player escapes. Will lay down on the ground after eating any large herbivore. Taming - You must first feed it a large herbivore, the size and level of the creature will determine how much taming progress you will already have made. After feeding it the creature, it will lay down, giving you the chance either feed it kibble or pet it, depending on what it requests (the kibble will give more progress). If you stay around it for too long it will wake up again and start attacking. This won't remove any taming progress, but will lower the taming efficiency. Role - I imagine these as kind of a larger deinonychus, having pretty much the same role but different. Think of if you combined a diplo and a deino. Most people will just use it for bosses, being a good alternative to rexes, with less health and base damage, but having the bleed effect that works like the deinonychuses. Obviously, the deinonychus won't be completely overshadowed, as they're still more mobile, smaller and have pack bonus. As for the diplo thing, I imagine it'd be able to carry 6 people plus a rider, 3 on each side of the spine, so it could work as good ground transportation. (Images from google, thanks google!)
