Hello Survivors, here is my submission for the Aberration Creature Vote, I have typed all the necessary information here for easy reading, but if you prefer a more traditional approach I have also attached a sample dossier at the end of the post. Enjoy! Dossier: Common Name: Fringe-Limbed Tree Frog (Flying Frog) Species: Ecnomiohyla rabborum Time Period: Modern (Extinct) Diet: Carnivorous Temperament: Aggressive Wild: In my time amongst the crags, cliffs, and overhangs of Aberration, I have come across a much unusual creature. In appearance it is very similar to the old earth gliding tree frog, but if it was given a huge size boost and a much more voracious appetite. These cliff dwelling amphibians will eat anything they can get their mouth around, but they have an unusual way of doing it. Despite being agile, fast, and able to cover great distances through the air, these silent hunters prefer to wait in ambush. They use their sticky feet to cling to the underside of an overhang or the side of a cliff, and when potential prey walks by they use their long, whip-like tongue to grab them and reel them into their jaws, swallowing their prey whole. I've even heard tale of one being seen grappling a full-grown rex. Domestic: Should you or your tribemates be crazy enough to tame such a creature, you will find yourselves in the company of a very useful friend. Once tamed, they can use their tongue to grab enemies and their tames, bringing them in close so that you and your tribemates can make the final blow. They can also use this same attack to grab ahold of wild dinosaurs, bringing them in and holding them still so that they can be knocked out or killed. While they don't have much in the way of teeth, their saliva is acidic in nature, and will consistently injure the enemy or dino that is being held. Much like the rock drake that also calls this ARK home, they are capable of climbing any surface, and of gliding great distances using the webbing in their hands and feet. While they are not found in or around water, they are also superb swimmers, and are capable of utilizing this same grab attack even when submerged. Taming: These slimy critters understand one thing better than any creature I've encountered thus far: food. They are voracious eaters, and in order to befriend one, you'll have to feed it live dinosaurs that have been tamed by you or your tribe, but be careful not to end up as a meal yourself! Once full, it should be relatively familiar with your scent, and will descend from its perch to greet you. At this point you will be able to saddle it up and be on your way! Just be careful that the feeding process is not interrupted by any dinosaurs that haven't been tamed by you or your tribe, as this will only hinder the process. Abilities: - Tongue Grapple: Shoots target with tongue, grabbing them and reeling them into the frogs jaws - Tongue Slap: Instead of grappling, you can choose to have your frog simply slap the target - Acidic Saliva: Once grappled, the target is subject to consistent damage from the frog's saliva, as long as they are grappled. This saliva also melts weapons and armor. - Gliding: Can leap into the air and glide great distances - Climbing: Can climb vertically and upside-down - Rider Weaponry Allowed: Grapple a target with your frog's tongue attack, reel them in, and then attack with your own weapons! - Immune to Fall Damage - 360 Rider View Breeding: Like most amphibians, this creature needs to be in water for breeding, and the eggs must stay underwater throughout the entire incubation process. Once the egg hatches, the baby will be a tadpole, and will need to remain in the water until the juvenile stage, at which point they can be removed from the water and brought onto land to grow. Spawning: In the wild, the flying frog can be found clinging to the walls and cliffs of Aberration, waiting for an unsuspecting, yet tasty, snack. Notes: This creature has wonderful PvP and PvE applications. It has armor melting saliva, great mobility, the ability to grapple both players and tames larger than itself (up to Rex size), it can swim, glide through the air, or simply hop along the ground. The player can use weapons, see in 360 degrees when stationary, and even park their frog for safekeeping on a cliff or a wall before dismounting, if they so choose.

Umoonasaurus Common name: Umoonasaurus Species: Umoonasaurus demoscyllus Group: Reptile Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Docile Habitat: Ocean (Mostly found near the colder regions of the Ark) Wild Happily frolicking along the cold seas of the Ark is a plesiosaur of small stature called a Umoonasaurus, it has a notable crest made of keratin on its head which is much larger than its real world counterpart. Like its relatives the Umoonasaurus tends to reside in the deepest parts of the ocean feasting on its favorite food: the Ammonite. While I was watching the Umoonasaurus attack Ammonites I have noticed that it doesn't get attacked by other creatures while eating, it seems to delicately chew through the shell of the Ammonite by extracting the bile and not letting a single drop of it to leak from its mouth. Domesticated Umoonasaurus doesn't need a saddle to be ridden but can still be crafted to help provide the creature with protection, it also allows the rider to use weapons while riding it. It is a fast ocean mount able to outspeed even an Icthyosaurus, but the speed comes at a cost. It can dart through the water at high speeds but only in short bursts because its stamina drains too quickly when sprinting. Umoonasaurus is an adept bile gatherer and can also harvest pearls on the sea floor making it an invaluable tame in the oceans of the Ark. Taming Method: Umoonasaurus has to be passively fed Ammonite Bile but doing so will not attract any unwanted attention as creatures tend to ignore the Umoonasaurus when its feeding on Ammonite. The only problem in the taming process is that the Umoonasaurus is quite a playful creature and will want you to chase it after being fed. Its a fast creature to chase so bringing an Icthyosaurus is recommended, the Umoonasaurus only slows down when it wants to be fed again. Abilities: Mounted Bite - Harvests meat, silica pearl, black pearl and large amounts of ammonite bile. Whirlpool - Rapidly spins in a circle, knocking back and damaging nearby creatures hit. Dash - Lunges forward, covering a large distance and damages creatures in its path. It consumes a lot of stamina when used. Passive Keratin Armor - The keratin covering its head provides natural armor and reduces incoming damage taken from the front. The Umoonasaurus doesn't take reduced damage when attacked from the back and its sides. Ammonite Hunter - Deals increased damage towards Ammonites and harvests large amounts of bile from each kill. Has a higher chance of obtaining silica pearls and black pearls when harvesting the Ammonite's body, creatures ignore you when you attack an Ammonite. Insulation - Provides the rider with insulation but its effect is much weaker compared to a Basilosaurus. Credit to Johan Egerkrans for the used artwork.

"monkeydactyl" the terrible thumbed flyer
SadTown posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
The "monkeydactyl" formally known as the Kunpengopterus antipollicatus is an arboreal pterosaur species that was recently discovered, it is thought to be the earliest animal with opposable thumbs. The idea I had for this creature was that it would have the ability to hold two separate things at a time like the karkinos, but also use weapons like the mantis including ranged weapons! Guns, tranq bows, you name it this thing can use it! It would be a relatively small flyer about the size of a pteranodon but longer. it's taming method would be similar to the Andrewsarchus where you must lure it in with honey and then proceed to ride it to gain taming effectiveness, however it would be a two stage tame where you would have to ride it to gain taming effectiveness and then feed it while it's unaware to gain taming percentage. As expected from creatures with thumbs, these things would be quite grabby and if noticed when trying to feed, will take all your taming food and eat it, without giving any taming at all! Another use these creatures would have is the weight reduction on ammo and cannon balls that it would be able to actively use with it's desired weapons. In the wild these creatures would also swoop in and grab armor and weapons from unsuspecting survivors, all whilst teasing them with their stolen items. It's saddle would be able to be a portable mortar and pestle able to craft gunpowder and extra ammo for it's rider! It's flying speed would presumably be similar to a pteranodon but it would have the ability to land and latch on any surface like desmodus and regain stamina while doing so, it would also be quite nice for it to have a divebomb similar the snow owl in speed so it can get around faster Overall this would be a utility tame mostly used for taming on pve and/or used for raiding on pvp. P.S the actual size of this creature was that of a sino or dimorph but preferably would be upscaled in game to a rideable size so it can be utilized as suggested, and of course make sure to upvote and leave suggestions so we can get this thing in game!- 3 replies
