-Breeding/Taming
I don't know how much change we can expect for breeding and taming, but I am assuming there will be some sort of overhaul. I do disagree with the idea that mutations should be for appearance only though. I think that we should do away with dino levels all together and replace them with a list of say 20 traits unique to that pack of dinosaurs. Breeders can start by seeking out multiple packs and do a combination of breeding to get their desired 20 traits on their bloodline.
For the tamers who want to stay competitive with the breeders we can include a list of wild only traits and breeding only traits. Basically, breeders would sacrifice wild tamed traits that could affect things like raw damage output in exchange for a more balanced and controllable dino. Whether bred or tamed, dinos will have the same number of traits.
-PvP
As far as raiding balance goes I'm very concerned about PvP in general for Ark 2. Its clear that due to the third person mechanics and combat changes, that we are going to have a very different experience on our hands.
I'm very exited about the potential of having a larger early game style pvp, with more spear and bow fights out on the beaches. Im concerned about the implications of a complete overhaul.
Arks no holds barred style PvP is brutal but its also the most impactful and dynamic PvP experience one can have. Since the vocal majority of PvP guys are usually cry baby hypocrites I'm expecting that raiding in general is being looked at extensively, and these guys are going to really regret screaming about how toxic the PvP is.
A new style of PvP with primitive weapons and defenses sounds great, but the core structure of raiding and PvP needs to be left alone. Make some tweaks to prevent and ENFORCE cheating, then make some minor tweaks to dissuade total wiping...
