  1. @ Devs I'm not writing this comment to attack the devs. Since the devs have stated that they’re going to adjust the patch based on feedback I would like to give my opinions and input. The flyer nerf was developed with PVP gameplay in mind and I feel that other utilities of flyers used in gathering and taming were neglected in the development and testing of this nerf and I feel it's really unfair on PVE players. Thus, this nerf has torn the community of players in half. And that's really sad to see devs do that to their fans. Yes the PVP needs something to help balance the current raid strategies... But I feel that this solution is breaking one of the most important fundamentals of all games. The main fundamental I’m referring to is obviously, TRAVEL. All games have a method of efficient travel. Taking that out makes the game painfully tedious. Other fundamentals have been messed with too. So many methods people used to gather and tame now need to be re-invented. Just look through youtube, there is a loooong list of guides that are now no longer applicable and must be re-invented. This means new players can’t just jump on the wiki or youtube anymore… These are core game strategies that’ve been drastically changed just to balance PVP which isn’t the core of the game and I feel that is a really strange thing to do to a game and the wrong way to fix PVP. And I'm unsure that some of the methods can't even be re-invented.... E.G. 1. First quetzal tame. (What, do we have to chain bola them out of the sky from a bronto platform now?) 2. Obtaining wyvern eggs. (Are we expected to kill all the wyverns somehow to get to the eggs now?) These are just the two main things that come to mind but there are more. While I completely disagree with the flyer nerf, I wouldn't have been bothered if it was an option that could be adjusted for unofficial PVE servers and the fact that this wasn't put in is unfair. Ok here are my suggestions: 1. Counter Content for Flyers. In all PVP games, when something is OP, you counter it. And I think this game would be enriched if some OP flyer counter content was added. How the devs do that is up to the devs but it's not hard to imagine some hard-core flyer counters. Some counters I imagine are: 1. Make anti-air assault more efficient. Buff anti air artillery/plants and/or add more. E.g. anti-air turrets with homing missile barrages, Flak defences, more, whatever it takes. 2. Efficient ways to slow/ensnare/drop flyers, whether it is a new dino or homing bolas, or tek fields, idk, make something up. I could go in to more detail but like I said, that's up to the devs. Add anti-air content, PVP strategies will have to change, and if the anti-air content is balanced we'll see more diverse methods of PVP assault invented and used. 2. I think the flyers should stay as they were and my first suggestion should be used, but if devs and community still want to nerf flyers with or without my first suggestion I think it should be done like this. 2.1 Speed. Make the speed stat of flyers a stat that we can level up again. Put a hard cap on the speed stat for each flyer. Change the speed increase per skill point so that maxing speed would use nearly every after-tame level to reach the cap. This way speed flyers are limited and aren’t over power with another high stat. The cap would obviously need testing to be balanced correctly. 2.2 Stamina Reduction. So the Stamina reduction is HUGE, bigger than it needs to be in my opinion. Assuming that speed stats are changed and can be levelled up again, the stamina of flyers can be reduced from what it was without breaking the fundamentals I spoke about above. It might even need to be reduced from what it was to achieve balance. But if flyer speed is staying locked at base, the stamina reduction is far too big. Also wyverns only being able to use breath attack twice before landing severely reduces unique feature for the wyvern which in turn kills desire to get them... There is no denying that the breath is OP but there has to be another way. Perhaps the breath attack should build torpor but not use stamina or perhaps wyverns could have a separate stat just for breath that can’t be levelled up and can regen while flying. 2.3 Stamina Regen. I agree with making the quetzal not regen stamina when dismounted idle flying. I disagree with making the quetzal use stamina when dismounted idle flying. It should be able to idle fly when dismounted indefinitely without regaining stamina since wild quetzals never land, this only makes sense. Perhaps the stamina could regen when the quetzal is dismounted idle flying but at a HEAVILY reduced rate, like at least x0.1. Once again that would need to be tested to balance. 2.4 Alternate stamina changes. This suggestion could be used with the current patch or used alongside my other stamina suggestions. Add a slot to dinos alongside the saddle and costume where you can add a consumable. When riding the dino that slot can be added to the hot bar (hot bar extension, key -). Also the consumable should be usable via the extended dino options wheel. Then add an endro stew for dinos.
