Hey there is a bug with an Ark Setting that causes the saves to decrease in size, it's a bug that the devs will hopefully fix. Together with the community we investigated and found the setting `-MaxNumOfSaveBackups=<integer>` to be the cause. Maybe that was your problem as well.

That's a false positive, if you're using MS Defender update it and the false positive should go away.

sometimes the client version and server version don't match, but it still works, check that the major versions match f.e. `32.33` client and `32.14` server - ok `33.33` client and `32.14`server - not okay

Update The issue was hard to debug, because he got it somehow working after a few tries. However this update should - fix bad installation path issue -> this was if the game server data folder contained spaces such `my game server` instead of `mygameserver` Join Discord in case of errors. Hey, I suggest you to use the server manager I created, it will help you deal with lots of difficult or confusing stuff. The best way to go would possibly be to create a new server trough the tool, start the server up. And later on import the settings you want. https://haruhost.com/ark-ascended-server-manager Judging from the issue that the server just closes, did you try removing all the mods and running the server? The thing is some mods don't play nice with server settings made by users and cause the server to crash. We had at least 3 cases like that. Then the other solution is to check whether you have the prerequisites installed which is visual stuff 2015 wiki states 2013 but for me I needed 2015. However that usually shows a visual error. The last thing would be to install and launch the ark game on the server PC, not sure if you did. Because technically when you install the game you also install the programs required to run your server from inside the game.

Hi Baliztek, When you press import it saves the path where the game server folder exists and creates a single `server_start.bat` file, it doesn't remove any files. And if you set the wrong directory it will just fail. So there is almost a 0% chance of it deleting your server stuff. Let's look more clearly at your complains: Missing configs - it might be you used a manager that doesn't use the default configuration settings of ark. We use the default settings structure and let users modify the ini settings as they see fit. You may have used a launch script that contained a bunch of options, -> these can be ported back by editing the server bat directly or by navigating -> `EDIT` -> `FILE CONFIG` -> `Command Line Arguments` Missing progress - if your old server configuration launch arguments used `AltSaveDir` settings you would need to to readjust the `server_start.bat` file that was created to add back the `AltSaveDir` setting. You can do that by going to `EDIT` -> `FILE CONFIG` -> `Command Line Arguments` `it continues to tell me to install without allowing` -> this doesn't sound right, the only case I could imagine would be, if you were to install trough steam, then close the app midway. But that would still allow you to continue installing the server. Chances are you are trolling. But in case it's not I welcome you to join the discord and let us help you there. Hey, to change max players, the option in ASA changed from `MaxPlayers` to `WinLiveMaxPlayers` . HaruHost has been updated that when you search for Max Players it shows the `WinLiveMaxPlayers` setting.

You clearly do not understand how corruption works, as it can be that only a part of the file gets corrupted like a single line. So that might not cause instantly an issue. If the OP of this topic has nothing against a dedicated server, I suggested him a solution which has automated backups. So in case something corrupts which a lot of people have issue with, he can restore with a few clicks. How do you expect me to test his exact error and debug? It doesn't make sense. I don't have the exact files, nor would I spent hours trying to figure it out for some internet points. I was just trying to provide a viable solution, and it just so happens that I decided to spend many hours and code it up. And since it's free. I don't see why you even hate here. Good for you on owning a dedicated server, but the tool I suggested is not a dedicated server, but it's a tool that helps to manage local (your own pc) existing and new dedicated servers for ark.

Hey, what's the reason you're moving to single player? I think singleplayer has more issues then using a dedicated server. I mean you can locally host a dedicated server for yourself. For free. I made a game server manager for that. Also, could it be that your save files got corrupted? I see a lot of people posting about that.
