Absolute worst way to launch a cross play game. Is there even a reason to try and play cross play now? Seems to me like everyone is better off staying in their specific servers now or at least starting off there. Wildcard, the community wanted to start TOGETHER and experience the cross play TOGETHER. Everyone starting on an "equal" playing field. Not to be separated. Not for some to be at a disadvantage. Not for some to watch the others play. Not to be LIED to. Not to have your anticipation up and to be let down over and over again. Imo, they flipped off the console community, then turned around and kicked PlayStation in the balls (or wherever hurts for you lol). Just sad to love a game and to be treated like that. Too bad the feeling isn't mutual wildcard. What makes it worse, is now, if you buy the game, it's like saying "thank you, may I have another?" You "kick me" let me give you money now. Tough to be excited. Sorry the the rant/long post. I've put in my half a cent.

If you're on Xbox, now you're competing with PC players and Xbox for base spots or much more if you're PVP. PlayStation, like myself, would be competing with PC, Xbox, AND PlayStation players for base spots etc. Also, if you're already established, why would you start over on a cross play? No transfers at first, as far as I know, so you would have to start fresh on the new cross play servers, right? So, other than friends, what are some reasons you'd want to play on cross play servers? Oh, apparently PC is known for being able to cheat pretty well? Idk. Big ole cluster fk imo. Thanks for the comments everyone🙂.

PlayStation 5 here. Thousands of hours on official. I added the funds to my wallet on initial release in October. Let down. Was logged in last night just in case they launched it, knowing it would be a release date. Actually did not think that they would only release on Xbox. Especially after the backlash for the steam release. I used my funds to purchase spiderman 2 last night. WHERE DO YOU DRAW THE LINE? RIGHT HERE.

Fair points. Very true there will be new servers for console. I guess I meant more towards being excluded from the increased rates. After being excluded from launch. As a long time official server player I know that x8, x10, x12, rates on official is HUGE. Not worried about "catching up" on this one as much as just being able to benefit from the insane increased rates. Maybe delay the increased rates until console launch and still have the event for charity? To say missing out on that is disappointing is an understatement. At the end of the day, what will happen, will happen. Just feels like it would be another major letdown for console players. Just my opinion. Thanks for your thoughts. 🙂

How would the Extra Life event happening before console release impact the game and your decision to purchase or play on console? Would you be ok if console was released at the start of the Extra Life event? Even if the PC players who have already been playing get the increased rates as well? What about postponing the event until a time when thing are more sorted out? IF the event happens BEFORE console release, which would be crazy IMO and I hope it doesn't happen, I'm out. That would be it for me. Looking forward to reading your thoughts on the topic. Thanks everyone. 🙂

Wondering how console players are feeling at the moment. For me, seeing videos being posted already about everything that is new has taken away some of the mystery/excitement. Still excited to play, but logging in and discovering everything new ASA has to offer for myself would have been a completely different experience. Not here to complain or cry. Just honestly curious if anyone else feels the same. That experience was taken from us. It is what it is. Still buying the game and planning on enjoying it. Would have been exciting though. What are your thoughts? Please be respectful, thank you all for your comments 🙂. I understand that you do not have to watch or pay attention to anything showing new features, but, let's be honest, it's pretty hard to miss.

Agree with everyone. I have around 4k hours into ASE myself and truly love the game. From what I've seen so far from YouTube vids, it looks like just enough was changed to validate calling it a remaster. Does it look good, yes, but was it worth losing everything and buying the new one? I do not agree with the price differential in areas. I think the server situation is greedy bs and unacceptable. SInce it is all about the money, let's try to share (or whatever else we can do)this post/thread/forum and make it as popular as we can. The more people who comment, the more weight it carries. Maybe, just maybe, this will give someone in the "higher ups" an "oh poop" moment if theu see their precious money possibly going out the window. Much love survivors, I hope things get better. Very sad indeed.

Just curious as to what peoples views/opinions are at the moment. Feels like they have definitely "muddied the waters" quite a bit with console players. Now the nitrado server situation. (Snail?) So, are you still planning on playing the game if you already have it? Are you going to buy it if you don't? Appreciate all the responses. 🙂

So, if you're wanting to play cross platform, there's no point in building up anything until those servers are available. Do you think there should be transfers because of this? Maybe limited. Character, set number of dinos, no items for an example. That way someone can't transfer 100 pillars and ladders lol. Will you be picking a server and sticking to it or change once cross play is available? Do you think they will/should bring out the cross play servers when they release scorched earth? Kind of makes sense to me. Why play for weeks or a month to start over on the same map? Yes, with friends, but would be annoying. Interested to hear your thoughts and opinions. 🙂

Interesting. So it sounds like console players will get the same chance of claiming land and starting fresh with one another at least. Also, it sounds like the PC steam players would have to change servers to join cross play when it is enabled? So a level advantage and a tames dino advantage. Not a problem for PVE. Seems like a problem for PVP. Thanks for all the responses. I know we are all probably curious as to how things are going to go. Appreciate all the info being shared.

I may not be well informed on the details of cross play pertaining to ASA. Thank you for the response! 🙂 I just hope for a fair start. Been preparing for weeks to try for a good base location. Hopefully not in vain lol.

Just curious about what console players are thinking ATM. I, for one, will NOT purchase the game if there has been a "head start" given to pc players. If they release new servers for console, I will purchase. I will not play starting at a disadvantage, mainly due to finding a decent location on the island. Hopefully, new/fresh/console servers will be available in "November". Hopefully soon. Please be respectful, would just like to hear your thoughts/opinions. Thanks.
