  1. Yup ASA isnt coming this year. I bet my hat. There's no way these out-of-pocket clowns are 20 days into Oct with ZERO game assets shared (other than half a screenshot of a raptor) and plan on releasing in less than 10 days. Looks like a 2024 release for sure.
  2. It is important to know that the Dragon fight is harder than the other fights previous to it because it does "Percent based damage" with its fire breath attack. This does at least 20% of anyone's (dino or persons) health, I say at least because it does some additional flat damage ontop of that. The Fireball attack (not to be confused with the Fire breath attack) is the one that can directly attack a rider. This does a burst of damage to an area (an AOE attack). The key to winning this fight is to bring Herbivores which take reduced damage from the fireball attacks. Tips to win: Herbivores that do big damage (such as Therizinosaurus, Deinonychus) A single Yutyrannus will buff your other dinos, making the fight much easier. You should be on the Yutyrannus to use the buff and keep it safe. Good Saddles don't mean much in this fight as the Dragon does most of his damage in percent based, meaning the saddle doesn't block much of the damage. All the herbivors should have stacks of Sweet Veggie Cakes which will heal them up. Make sure they all have a saddle so you can switch between them and force feed them the cakes to heal them faster. Bring Wyvern Milk (if you can get it) to make your player immune to the Flame Breath. A good backup dino is a High Damage wooly rhino with veggie cakes to heal, this The dimophadons that spawn will kill you even while you are mounted so you need to shotgun kill them fast, or use the dinos to attack them. If you wear high lvl Ghillie armor they will attack your dinos instead. Spread your Dinos out, this makes the Dragons attacks hit less of them at a time. Pro tips: If you have a Magmasur they dont take any damage from flame breath or lava. And if you have a bunch of metal ingots on them they can attack from a distance to avoid any attacks. If you have a pack of Deinonychus the bleeding damage and pack boost is very good at taking the Dragon down fast. If you want to try to go in with 1 dino, you can use a high lvl Deinonychus and only attack the back left foot of the Dragon, he wont be able to hit you and you can solo him with a single dino that way.
  3. Greetings fellow Ark enthusiasts, I wanted to take a moment to discuss the potential impact of the upcoming release of Ark Survival Ascended, particularly for new players who joined the game after the introduction of Cryopods and Tek engrams. It's important to note that Ascended will initially launch with only engrams from The Island, which means that advanced tech like Cryopods will not be available for use. While this decision may have been made for various reasons, it might pose some challenges for newcomers who have grown accustomed to these high-level tools. Here are a few potential negative effects: Steep Learning Curve: New players who have only experienced the game with Cryopods and Tek engrams might find themselves facing a steeper learning curve. They may need to adjust their playstyle and strategies to adapt to a more primitive tech level, which could be a significant shift. Limited Mobility and Storage: Cryopods, for example, provide a convenient way to store and transport creatures. Without them, players may find it more difficult to manage their growing dino collections or organize expeditions efficiently. This could lead to frustration and slower progression. PvP Disadvantage: In player-versus-player scenarios, not having access to advanced tech like Tek weaponry and defensive structures can put new players at a significant disadvantage. They may struggle to compete against seasoned players who are already adept at using these items. Adjustment Period: Even if players eventually gain access to Tek engrams as the game progresses, there will likely be an adjustment period where they need to re-learn how to use these advanced tools effectively. This could lead to moments of frustration and potential setbacks in their gameplay experience. Community Dynamics: Players who started after Cryopods and Tek engrams were introduced may have formed a different set of expectations and strategies compared to veterans. The limited engrams could create a divide in the player base and might lead to new players feeling somewhat alienated. Think of all tools these newer players take for granted now. Remember the old days of Quetzal platforms to move around large tames? How about progressing through some of the caves with smaller tames because you can't just Pod the "larger" cavers past choke points? Remember dinos that died because they got stuck in tight spots, no pod saving those. What about teleporter pads for moving around the map? Cloning chambers for breeding? Dedicated storage boxes? The Chainsaw from Scorched Earth? Climbing picks from Aberration? The net projectile from Genesis (arguably the most useful item in the game for taming)? These items dramatically change HOW we all play the game. Think of all the convenience tames that have been added to the game that people take for granted now. Maewings for nursing babies, Gacha farms, Snow owl pellets and healing, Fjordhawks for death item retrieval, Shadomanes for moving around the land and water, the list is extensive.... In conclusion, while the decision to launch Ascended with only The Island engrams may have valid reasons, it's crucial to consider how this could impact newer players. It's recommended that both the developer and the community provide support and resources to help newcomers adapt to this change. Additionally, veterans can play a significant role in helping new players bridge the gap and enjoy the game to its fullest potential. Let's keep the dialogue open and ensure that everyone has a positive experience in Ark Survival Ascended! Happy Surviving! 🦖🌿
