Common name: Laophis Secies: Laophis Crotaloides Time: Pliocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive (they run away from bigger predators or herbivorous) Wild Laophis Crotaloides is a 4m long snake relative of cobras, survivors will be able to find them in swamps and jungles, it’s less common than titanoboas and it will usually be near water and trees where they climb to run away from predators. It’s very sneaky and when they attack survivors they don’t try to fight if their first attempt to suffocate and poison their victim fails. They are solitary and always run away from titanoboas because they are their main predator. Taming Method To tame a Laophis is not very difficult, what players will only have to do is to drag little preys and feed the snake with those little prey like dodos, otters or jerboas, this preys have to be the whole body and not the meat it gaves because wild laophis can't chew so it will be only available to eat corpse smaller than it. To improve the taming efficiency what survivors will have to do is throw eggs near the snake and it will eat them, that will improve the taming efficiency but the snake can’t be tamed only with eggs. Tamed A wild laophis is not a big threat for experienced survivors, but when a survivor tames one it becomes really useful, they usually carry the snake coiled around their neck and shoulders, like a scarf, but because this snake weighs more than any other carryable creature, only the strongest can carry those. When survivors use them against their enemies, they throw the snake and this gets coiled around the enemy's body, suffocating them while inoculating the poison with its fangs. When this reptile is coiling arround their victims it denny's them from moving like the bolas would do, the laophis will keep its enemy trapped until it runs out of stamina or its owner calls it. Also, while it is coiled arround an enemy it prevents him from changing his held item or opening the inventory, but it won't last long due to this attack consumes laophis's stamina very quickly. Another use players give it is that when it is left on the ground and it's full healthy and full feeded it naturally produces a venom on its inventory similar to narcotics that can be used for the same purposes. Annother hability this snake has is to produce a lot of skin when it regens its health after becoming hurt letting an ecdysis ( skin that snakes leave away when they shed their skin) wich survivors will be able to farm whith an axe or a pick. And finally, it has the ability to inoculate both allied creatures and survivors with two diferent types of poison. The first acts as a stimulant, increasing the stamina, the movement speed and attack speed while the other affects as a soothing, increasing the oxygen stat, and decreasing the damage takken by foes attacks.
