  1. PVE Rag official,

    Put food in troughs.

Collected eggs and tossed them in the fridge.  I have enough of all sizes to make another batch of kibble and should get around to that in a couple days.

Added some fertilizer to the garden.

Took basilo, wyvern, rexes, and yuties out of pods for an hour to mature.  Most of the rexes are now 85-90% done.  It is a long haul in Ark from Day 1 to being boss ready.  So many long nights watching babies and I can finally see a little light at the end of the tunnel.  Feeling good today.

The Therizino team is a little farther behind in the process, but I feel the rexes will be ready almost immediately with about 50k health (imprinted).  I might add a few levels in health and a few in melee just to be sure though.  Anyway, I will tackle the monkey in the near future at least.  Perhaps the spider too but will wait for therizinos before doing the dragon.

  2. I spent a couple days on the Island tearing down the old base.  Well, tearing down is a stretch I suppose.  I should say I moved out all the valuable stuff, gave away all that I could, tossed all the low-mid grade gear not claimed into the industrial grinder to reclaim metal, and unlocked cabinets on everthing else... then advertised free stuff and first come first serve.  I did take down part of the buildings and demolished all the industrial equipment, so the base is a shell with a few cabinets inside.  It is stone and will decay soon enough.

I also constructed a small metal (2x3) shack near one of the obelisks to help with storage.  And early in the process I  used the trap on the roof of the old base to trap a mid-level argent.  Since I took them all to Ragnarok... I needed something to get around.  And about an hour after I tamed the first one I spotted  a 150 argent nearby and couldn't resist.  Unfortunately I didn't have kibble and had to do it with prime meat.  But it still worked out nicely and I have two capable workhorse argents to help on the island now.

Once back on Rag I unpodded a few of the babies and managed to fully mature my first poison wyvern.  I took him out for levels and target practice and found aiming the poison ball attack a little easier than controlling the lightning... but not as powerful.

A buddy gave me a level 232 ice wyvern egg and I am looking forward to playing with that later as well.

Not much else to say today other than I am looking forward to some summer event colors because the colors on my therizinos and rexes are awful.  I just don't feel tough on a rex that is pepto pink and blue.  Something has to change.

  3. PVE Rag

Raided beaver dams and gathered obsidian.  Made poly.

    Did a metal run.

Flew around for a bit to scout for a second (and more permanent) base location as we are starting to outgrow our current spot on the beach.  It was a good place to start though.

Found a lvl 150 alpha raptor and a lvl 50 alpha carno while on my scout trip and that was just enough to bump my chibi to level 3. 👍

  4. PVE Rag

Bred my argents again and got Male Twins with the best health, stamina, and melee.  I will keep them.

Let babies out of pods again to take advantage of rates before they disappear.  Team of rexes are all now about 75% mature and 100% imprinted.   One of my wyverns is 93% mature and the other is 75%.  And my perfect female basilo is a little over 50% done... So progress is definitely being made.

On a meat run today I noticed yet another new player is setting up a base just outside my walls and I am starting to discuss new location options with my tribe-mate.  A move might be in our future.

  5. Found a 150 yuty the other day and couldn't pass it up.  It was a very long adventure to tame with lots of mishaps and danger but I got it done in the end.  The health is ok, but not great.  However it has far better stamina and slightly better melee than anything else I have so I look forward to getting it into the breeding mix as soon as my twin yuties are all grown.

Spent much of the last couple days raising babies.  Nothing too exciting there.

  6. PVE Ragnarok

I wasn't in the mood to pull out the babies this morning under standard rates, so I took the day off from babysitting.

Chat box was working so I chased down a couple OSDs to see it they were fixed yet... nope.

On the flight home I saw five sharks outside my water pen drooling over the contents inside.  Took the basilo out for some exercise.  Sharks are gone.

I bred my two best argents and the baby popped with good stamina but bad... everthing else.  I walked it out the gates and wished it the best of luck.

Collected more eggs from the farm side of the base.  Made kibble.

Made a run for metal and obsidian.  Had a bunch of chitin sitting in the vault so I made poly.

Made spark powder and refilled some torches.

Did a berry run and came back with too many berries.  So I cooked up some dyes.

Saw that an ovis spawned inside the base walls.  Made a veggie cake and tamed it.

    That was about it today.

This server you can’t stay on for 10 minutes, some times it will kick you before you get on. In the last 2 days I have been able to play a total of an hour due to being kicked off. There are servers worse than that?

IDK, lol, that is pretty bad.  I just left an island server because of constant lag, disconnects, roll backs, and player induced duping crashes.  I could not take it any longer and am almost done with my move.  I am much happier in my new home.  I wouldn't waste any more time there if it is as bad as you say it is.

  8. Yes, people submit tickets.  However, one thing I have learned is some servers are much worse than others.  And I don't thing any are perfect.  All will crash at some point.  The only way I can suggest to improve your game play experience is to try out different servers and move to one that is more agreeable.  It's a lot of work to move your stuff but you will feel better later.  Good luck.

Went back to island base to gather more stuff.  I took one of my argents with me because I needed to haul some heavy things like ingots and eggs back to the obelisk.  My base is a bit of a trek from any obelisk and I don't really have any pets on the island with good weight... but... the argent didn't transfer.  I checked a few times hoping there was just a delay but nope.  Ark ate it, and I am pretty bummed because it was one of my favorites.

So, I changed my plans.  I converted most of the ingots into light weight bullets and tranq darts figuring I will need that stuff eventually.  Then made several trips back and forth to the obelisk with my ptera.

I don't have many dinos remaining on the island and was hoping to take several back to Ragnarok with me but I decided against it in case there is a transfer bug happening right now.  So I just left them there for another time.  I really don't have much remaining on the island of any value and might start the demo soon.  Without community chat I can't even give things away.

Got back to Rag base and bred argents.  Hatched twins, some good stats and some bad.  Meh.

Took out babies (basilos, therizinos, rexes, yuties, megatherius, argents, and wyverns) again which is mostly what I have been doing for the past week or so.  Excited to say two of the basilos are finally done.  And the little female with all the good stats that I want to breed is now about 35%. One of the wyverns is up to 65%, and most of the rexes are now above 50%, so progress is being made.

Small egg/ kibble farm is working well too.  The fridge is slowly filling up with eggs of each size.  I will probably have a kibble making party this weekend. 👍

Went looking for a good Female Megatherium for mating.  Didn't find what I was looking for so I Bred my good male with my High health female.  Wow, 8 hours later I got triplets with the high health and all dad's other stats.  I am totally cool with that.

Took out all the babies again.  I wasn't planning on raising babies today but the server was acting up (DC twice while searching for the afore mentioned Mega), so I decided to just stay close to base.

Found an argent a little later that was all black and a lvl 140, so I chased it down and tamed it.  Once I saddled it and flew it around in the sun I could tell it was not perfectly black.  It had a layer of dark brown mixed in but I am okay with that.

All my dinos are named after musical groups so I named a few that still needed a name.  The new argent is Bad Company,  and the baby poison wyverns are Weezer and Atomic Rooster (Old British rock group from the 70s).

  11. PVE Rag

Made some gas and tossed it in the generators.  Made a run for crystal and metal.

Went looking for bee hives.  While searching the upper plateau, NW of the green obelisk, I found a queen bee already out of the nest.  I thought somebody else might have been in the area so I waited for a few minutes but saw nobody.  So I put on the ghillie and repellant then tamed the bee.  Wish they were all that easy.  Lol.

Went back to base and made a small chamber next to the greenhouse and inserted the new hive.

    That was it today.

Had a mostly "raising baby" kind of day yesterday.

I was hoping the new 175 poison wyvern would be Female so I could pair it up with the 155 I already had.  But no such luck, it was another Male.  Eh, small complaint.  I had them out for a good chunk of the day and I think the 155 is now at 35% and the 175 is almost 20%.

Also pulled out the baby rexes, therizinos, yuties, and basilos (that I was never able to raise on the island because of horrible server issues) and gave them all their first extended dose of maturing since coming to Rag.

Also got to have some fun with my new tribe-mate yesterday.  She built a gazebo type structure to go with the water pen, and we made a couple trips to the desert to check loot drops, collect chitin, and hunt death worms (but didn't find a single worm).

Late in the day I took her to the wyvern cave and showed her how I get my eggs.  We didn't see anything good but she took a lvl 50 poison anyway.  She died once in the escape process, and the egg disappeared from her inventory, but still a positive experience to learn from I think.

Did a little more work on the water pen.  Tested it out with baby basilos and it appears to work just fine.

Made a few runs for metal, stone, wood, etc.

On a whim ( really because I was bored and needed to do something fun), I took the raft over to the wyvern cove and swam into the cave.  stayed underwater mostly and poked around until I thought coast was clear.  Pulled out argent and flew up to the top of the first pillar near the entrance.  Found a 175 poison egg!!!!!  Woohoo. I remembered to pod the argent. However, in my excitement I forgot to take off my flippers so when I grabbed the egg I couldn't run.  At normal speed I can just run off the pillar top and my momentum will carry me out to the water... but with no speed and no momentum, I dropped straight down and hit rock at the bottom. (death #1)

Respawned on the raft and swam in (no scuba) again.  found body at surface of water.  took all items, including egg.  But, like an idiot, I stayed right there and took my time putting on the scuba.  Being right at the water surface I was an easy target for the lightning bolt from above to strike me down. (death #2)

Had to wait to respawn at the raft this time.  When finally back in the game I swam (yet again) into the cave and secured my gear from body #2.  Swam down this time to put on gear.  Went back out to raft and started driving away and was attacked by 2 more wyverns.  I kept driving out of the cove as they pestered me.  Pretty soon I had the brilliant idea of jumping off the raft and swimming deep with scuba until they lose aggro.  Nope, they got me again when I jumped for the water. (death #3)

This time I spawned back at base and took my lightning wyvern with me.  But by the time I got to the boat the other two wyverns had left.  Cool beans!.  Landed wyvern carefully on the raft deck ( kinda like landing a 747 on an aircraft carrier). Anyway, I made it home and started incubating the egg right away.  Fast forward about 6 hours, I am standing by the egg with two minutes left to go until hatch when the power goes out at my house.  Some freak gust of wind blue a tree into some power lines.  In the 12 years I have live in this house this is the first time I have ever lost power.  Oh My F..... God!  I thought I was going to lose IT!  I bounced around the house for awhile pulling out my hair.  Then my wife told me to have a beer and settle down, LMAO.  So I did.

The power came back on about 30 minutes later and when I logged in... everything was ok.  My baby wyvern was doing just fine.  When I checked it against dododex, I think it had 33 pts in melee and 31 in health.  Not world records, but good to me.

All is well that ends well, right?

Worked on water pen again this morning.  It is now (finally) a functional pen meaning it is fully surrounded by protective structures and I can put dinos inside and feel safe about doing it.  I suppose those pesky piranhas might get inside but the mantas and sharks will be kept out.  Although, now that I think about it, I haven't seen any piranhas around so maybe I am okay there too.

I still have more work I want to do to the pen though.  I started placing a deep floor to cover up many of the weeds and give the whole structure a cleaner look.  My new partner has also accepted the challenge of doing some kind of beachy cabana type structure to make the whole experience a little more enjoyable.

Anyway, I am excited to pull out the baby whales and get them mature so we can start exploring the rest of the map.

  15. Whenever it is released... I think my world will be so much better.  Not because I will be playing Gen - Part 2, but because all the players that have played regular Ark forever and just sit around duplicating / replicating / mass breeding their 1000s of gigas will finally have something else to do.  Maybe, just maybe the normal game will a little less laggy.  So yeah!  The new game will be freaking awesome for the rest of us that just want to play normal Ark. 👍

  16. PVE Rag / Island official

Ran back to the Island for another load of stuff to take to the Rag house.

Back on Rag I noticed many of the pillars I place yesterday in the water pen were gone today.  So I placed some more pillars today and will check back tomorrow... another minor ark mystery to solve I guess.

Saw I was running low on fertilizer so I let a few of the dinos out of their pods to collect poo.

    That was it today.

Made a new friend today.  Tribe grew by +1 😀👍... This new friend is a frequent visitor to this page, and I sent them an invite awhile ago.  Anyway, they crashed their cool party boat on my beach sometime last night and today we are a team.  And in case there is any danger of me lowering their reputation around here I will let their identity remain a mystery for now. 🤪 Or until they do something really embarrassing and I can take advantage of it somehow.

... And while we try to decide just exactly how we are going to conquer the world... I made a few trips for wood, stone, and thatch today.  Then I made a bunch of pillars and continued working on the water pen.  I started in the deep water and worked my way back toward shore.  However there are a couple places where it was hard to get snap points to work because of the steepness of the terrain.  I think I have figured out a work-around to the issue and should have everything in order tomorrow.

    That was about it today.

  18. PVE Ragnarok official (past few days)

I logged in the other day to find a 150 morellatop standing on my front porch.  I've never had one of those, even when playing solo on SE.   I had no plans to tame one but said "what the heck."  Now I have one.

I got tired of all the raptors, pigs, cats, pegos, etc that kept spawning around the base and creating havoc so I finally built a wall.  It has helped tremendously, especially with the paracers and morellatops.  I hate how the house just shakes and shakes when they are around... And finally allowed me the confidence to let out some of the babies I have been keeping in the fridge since moving over from the island.

I heard daeodons can help with raising wyverns if you don't have milk, so I tamed one.  I took out my baby wyvern and after a bit I turned on the pig.  I went through a couple sessions of "healing" but never really saw any improvement in the wyvern's health.  I stopped using the pig and found out there is a community cage near the cove for milking.  So, I flew over and got milk.  Honestly, I thought it was easier than taming the pig. lol.  Anyway, the wyvern has now surpassed its' first imprint and doing fine.

Took out the baby therizinos and yuty's for awhile yesterday.  Almost all the therizinos received their first imprint and are now in juvenile stage. And the two yuty's each passed the second imprint point.

Started building a water pen. I have maybe the first 100 pillars in place.  A long way to go on that project still.

Finished building the greenhouse and planted the basic crops.  Finished the taming raft.

Hatched the 155 poison wyvern but I wasn't watching the time and missed the actual hatching.  I was 10 minutes late claiming it and hopefully I can still get all the imprints done.  I checked the stats in dododex and got a few extra points in health, stam, and weight... but melee was a 3 clicks below the starting point.  All pretty average.

Regardless, it will be better than the one I have once I imprint and put on some levels.

  20. PVE Ragnarok official

I couldn't sleep last night so I logged in and made another run at the south wyvern cave.  Started out same as before... swam in, checked low nest at water's edge - nothing there.  Swam to small ledge near front of cave (out of sight from wyverns) pulled out argent and flew to top of first pillar.  Found a 155 Poison!!!! After crapping my pants and taking a few deep breaths I podded the argent (can't fly out since there were several wyverns flying just outside the entrance when I swam in),  I took off the flippers so I could run off the high pillar without delay... then I grabbed the egg and ran.  It is a pretty good drop and I thought I would never get to the water.  But I did.  Put my flippers back on and casually swam out the tunnel with a pair of wyverns darting about above me and unable to do anything about it. lol.

I think I checked my inventory 10 times while driving the raft home just to make sure I still had the egg.  Got home and tossed it into the incubation room.  No event going now so it will take awhile.  I know it's possible to get higher levels but for me... it may as well been solid gold 😄

High on adrenaline and still unable to sleep I decided to change up the raft design to a taming raft instead of just a cabin cruiser.  I have been meaning to do it at some point, and I will likely have someone joining me soon that might need it, so I figured it would be good to have.  And now that the base is coming along I might try to get some new tames myself soon.  the raft is mostly done now. I just need to outfit it with supplies and organize the living quarters on the back end.

This morning I cooked the egg a little more before work.  While I stood around I decided I didn't like the look and placement of my greenhouse.  So I tore the whole thing apart and started again.  I have the foundations and plumbing in place for the new structure now.  I will try to finish it tonight.

Cooked the fire wyvern egg a little more and I think it is within 20-30 minutes of hatching, but I picked it up and tossed it in the fridge.  I Decided to go back to the wyvern cave and have another go at the eggs.  (It's almost addicting, lol)

Parked the raft in front of the entrance again and swam inside.  I went to the back right corner and the low nest was empty again.  Bummer.  Then I got a little more daring and swam around the surface looking for any wyverns.  There were several towards the back half of the cave and none up front.  So I found a small ledge to climb out of the water and took out my pocket argent.  I flew to the top of the first pillar and found a low level lightning.  flew to the second pillar and found another low level lightning.  I went back to the first (since it was slightly better) and packed away the argent.  I then grabbed the egg and jumped off the pillar into the water... swam back to boat.  Went home and tossed the egg in the fridge for kibble.

Went back to the cave two more times after that and got the other low level lightning and a low level poison on the back left wall as you enter.  Those two eggs each spoiled before I could get home but at least I am clearing them for better spawns (I hope).

Spent a little time back at base with the doedi and beaver.  Put a good amount of wood, thatch, and stone in the cabinets for upcoming projects.  That was about it.

  22. Made another run back to the Island.  Gave a ptera and some gear to a newbie when she asked for help and she never said thanks.  I don't understand people sometimes.  Anyway, I brought back best sets of armor and all the juvenile therizinos that I had started raising for the dragon boss fight there.  I figured I can finish raising them finally on Rag and then go back for boss fight.  I will likely do that with my rexes too.  I need to secure a place to let them out of pods first though.  I get a lot of raptors, deodons, and saber cats spawning near my base.

Checked for Ice wyvern nests again on Rag.  Got nothing.  The one wyvern I have is not strong enough to tackle the trench or the southern wyvern cave alone so I came up with a crazy plan and just swam into the cave... commando style.  I know there is a nest in the back right corner of the cave near the water line and figured I could scuba my way in without drawing attention to myself... extract the egg... and swim out.

It worked fine, sort of.  I found the nest (proud of that since it was my first time in there).  And it even had an egg, another 95 fire.  I was hoping for better but I took it anyway and ran back to the water so a better one could spawn.  I swam back to the raft I left outside the cave entrance and when I checked my inventory I no longer had the egg.  My best guess is that the spoil timer might have expired.  I don't think there is an issue with having an egg on you while swimming but maybe there is.  IDK.  I tried to go back twice since then but have not found any more eggs in the nest.  I will keep trying and will make note of the spoil timer when I find one again.

Back at base I pulled out the 95 fire wyvern egg I got the other day from the trench and started cooking it.  I wanted to try the new hatchery anyway.  Worst case scenario is I lose my current (only) wyvern and have no back-up plan.  So, I will hatch and raise the 95 as plan B, or at least until I get something better.
