Suggestion

This dinosaur is similar to the therizino its an omnivorous giant just a little bit higher than the therizino and much more bulkier. It also has a nice set of claws just like the therizino. It has a duck like beak perfectly suiting this terror gose which some part of the concept is based on. The dino although it lived in swamp's certainly wasn't suited for a deep water lifestyle more like a shallow water fisher id see it fitting into the green biomes river areas as there are plenty of fish there.

Gameplay: I think our modern creatures in ark  cant exist without a good utility.

Pve:How many times have you been grinding Berrys and thought how much easier it would be if you can chose what you want to harvest like with the stryder. I personally thought about this a lot so my idea is deinocheirus has a secondary attack like the tickle of the therizino but it leans forward and starts biting the grass like a gose or a duck with small movements but fast and that attack only harvests the berries and harvestables selected.

Pvp: oh boy as many times Ive been trapped in a net and though about my life decisions, any way deinocheirus has sharp and long claws and sure packs some tricks. when neted it can use its sharp claws to cut the net and free Itself in just a few seconds. It van also free allies.

Neutral: Its primary attack is just a swipe that cause painful wounds slowing down even the largest of foes.

when stationary the primary attack becomes much more like a feroxes swipe attack while stationary swiping left to right while this attack is repeated it stacks a buff that speeds up the attacks, much like the tek claw. The buff is reseted by moving or pausing, however when fully stacked the buff sticks around for 5 seconds even while moving, the timer is reseted by further punching.

its omnivorous behaviour could mean it can eat sweet veggie cakes.

Taming: The last few creatures added to ark are not the same old taming method we are used to i expect nothing less from asa so i thought this creature should have its own unique either. being the concept of the most dangerous non theropod creature I think it should have a similar taming method to elephants IRL, So the the first thing you want to do is discipline the creature. You discipline the creature by shooting its limbs. Doing so will make the creature fall to the ground so you can feed it with the preferred food being an omnivore that could be basically anything thats edible, but better stay on your feet because caging the creature will result in some interesting responses as the creature will constantly try to deceive you. It will play its fall and when you would feed it you would be met with claws each time you fall for its tricks the taming effectiveness will go down but you can use plant z to flash and scare the creature thus making it stand up.

This makes the harder way more rewarding while not being the only option.

I hope you like my suggestion for the deinocheirus and help me get this incredible creature to the game

DEINOCHERIUS.jpg.f5b45d653b62b1fb7a8909222c064076.jpg

WILD

DEINOCHERIUS HAS A SIMPLE AND CALM LIFE IN THE WATERS OF ABERRATION EXCEPT FOR THE PINK ZONE, ITS LIFE CONSISTS OF EATING, DEFECATING, EATING THE PLANTS THAT GROW THANKS TO ITS EXCREMENT AND REPRODUCING.THIS CREATURE IS NOT TERRITORIAL BUT IF YOU GET TOO CLOSE IT WILL SIMPLY MOVE AWAY FROM YOU TO EAT IN PEACE.IT IS WORTH NOTING THAT LIGHT CREATURES ARE ALWAYS AFTER A DEINOCHERIUS BECAUSE THEIR SMELL AND SIZE KEEPS PREDATORS AWAY FROM THESE SMALL ANIMALS

DOMESTICATED

TAMING A DEINOCHERIUS IS EASIER THAN IT SEEMS, A CAMOUFLAGE SUIT WILL HELP TO GO UNNOTICED UNTIL YOU GET TO ITS BEAK, YOU MUST HAVE A FISHING BASKET READY TO FEED IT AND MAKE IT LOWER ITS GUARD, AT THAT MOMENT YOU MUST STAND ON ONE SIDE OF THE ANIMAL AND CUT A LITTLE OF ITS PLUMAGE IN WHICH YOU WILL HAVE TO PRESS THE KEYS A, S, D, W AS IF IT WERE A FISHING IN THE RIVER, IN A MATTER OF SECONDS IF YOU DO NOT MAKE A MISTAKE IN THE LETTERS, IT WILL ASK FOR FOOD, IT CAN BE BERRIES, ZETAS, ANOTHER BASKET OF FISH OR VEGETABLES, S, D, W KEYS AS IF YOU WERE FISHING IN THE RIVER, IN A MATTER OF SECONDS IF YOU DON'T MAKE A MISTAKE IN THE LETTERS, IT WILL ASK YOU FOR FOOD, IT CAN BE BERRIES, ZETAS, ANOTHER BASKET OF FISH OR VEGETABLES TO LATER CUT AGAIN A LITTLE OF ITS PLUMAGE UNTIL YOU HAVE TAMED THIS FEATHERED GIANT.

received_240880632086189.jpeg.a5a333736703fdec506d09fbfee1a609.jpeg

BENEFITS

THIS CREATURE OFFERS VERY USEFUL RESOURCES FOR OUR DAILY LIFE IN ARK, ITS EXCREMENT WORKS AS A POWERFUL RE-FERTILIZER THAT STIMULATES THE REAPPEARANCE OF RESOURCES UP TO 4 TIMES FASTER, USEFUL FOR A FASTER COLLECTION OF RESOURCES IN A SHORT TIME WITHOUT WAITING UNTIL THEY ARE AVAILABLE ON THEIR OWN.

ITS DENSE AND RESISTANT PLUMAGE CAN CREATE USEFUL ACCESSORIES, ONE OF THEM IS A SPECIAL SHOULDER BAG TO KEEP A SMALL CREATURE INSIDE, THAT IS, YOU CAN HAVE TWO SMALL SHOULDER PETS AT THE SAME TIME.

THE PLUMAGE OF THIS CREATURE IS RESISTANT, VERY RESISTANT, YOU CAN MAKE BANDAGES WITH ITS FEATHERS AND WITH THIS YOU CAN REPAIR ANY BROKEN ARMOR, EXCEPT THE TEK, GRANTING 25 DURABILITY POINTS TO THE BROKEN PIECE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY, THAT MEANS THAT YOU CAN REPAIR YOUR ISOLATION SUIT IN FULL RADIATION AND GET OUT OF A PROBLEM OR MORE.

received_970753814192039.jpeg.61c40d95339ff21eeba79afd13e3a95e.jpeg

ARMOR REAPER

THE ABUNDANT PLUMAGE OF DEINOCHERIUS IS EXTREMELY RESISTANT, YOU CAN CREATE A HUGE FEATHER ARMOR FOR YOUR REAPER KING THAT WILL PROTECT HIM FROM THE LIGHT THAT WEAKENS HIM SO MUCH, IT WILL NOT GIVE HIM AN ARMOR TO RECEIVE LESS DAMAGE, IT ONLY PROTECTS HIM FROM THE LIGHT, THIS ARMOR CAN BE BROKEN THE MORE DAMAGE THE REAPER KING RECEIVES.

SKILLS

IN THE INVENTORY OF DEINOCHERIUS, A POWERFUL POISON CAN BE MADE BASED ON LEECH BLOOD, EXCREMENT, ZETAS, AND A BIT OF FIBER. IT WILL BATHE ITS CLAWS IN THE POISON, SO WHILE IT HITS IT WILL BE ABLE TO INJECT THE POISON INTO ITS VICTIMS, GIVING A 25% DAMAGE REDUCTION EFFECT AND AN AGGRESSIVE STAMINA DRAIN FOR 10 SECONDS.

ANOTHER OF HIS ABILITIES IS A POWERFUL CHARGE THAT CAN SUBDUE A LARGE ENEMY BETWEEN HIS SPLEENS, HE WILL DRAG HIM ALONG THE FLOOR UNTIL DEINOCHERIUS IS EXHAUSTED, IN THIS PROCESS HIS CLAWS WILL BE STUCK INTO THE SKIN OF HIS VICTIM CAUSING BLEEDING SIMILAR TO STEGO, AND YES, YOU CAN USE THE POISON IN THIS CHARGE.

IN THE CASE OF CREATURES LIKE PARACER AND BRONTO, IT CAN ONLY PREVENT THEM FROM MOVING, AGAINST GIGANOTOSAURUS AND CARCHARODONTOSAURUS IT WILL HOLD THEIR JAWS TIGHTLY PREVENTING THEM FROM MOVING AND BITING, BLEEDING AND POISON CAN BE USED ON THESE CREATURES.

WHILE YOU CHARGE YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR MOVEMENTS AND SUBDUE YOUR OPPONENT BY THE NECK WITH ONE ARM OF DEINOCHERIUS, AND WITH THE OTHER ARM HE WILL BEGIN TO STAB AGGRESSIVELY AND CAUSING BLEEDING, THIS MOVEMENT CONSUMES HIGH ENERGY, IN EXCHANGE FOR THAT WEAR AND TEAR THE STABBING IT WILL IGNORE DAMAGE REDUCTION AND SADDLES, THAT MEANS IT WILL DO FULL DAMAGE THAT IGNORES ARMOR AND NATURAL DAMAGE REDUCTION

BE VERY CAREFUL OF THIS SURVIVING ENVIRONMENT, DEINOCHERIUS IS A POWERFUL CREATURE THAT WILL PROTECT YOU FROM THIS ARK FULL OF HORRORS, IN DARKNESS AND DOOM

THANKS SO MUCH FOR READING

Rip, you beat me to it, I was gonna post a concept of Deinocheirus too, gl man, EU timezone relly suck for stuff like this.
Anyways, here's my concept, i hope it will help you get some votes, tho it's wildly different from yours.
image.png.a52d36edb094e3cfe96c05c4ff1d009e.png

DEINOCHEIRUS, THE FLUFFY MUSHROOM SPECIALIST

INTRO

Deinocheirus is a big herbivore that is going to be, for many people, a confort pick for exploring the caverns of aberration. It's abilities are going to be centered around one of the map's most common caracteristics which is mushrooms. In terms of power he's going to be a side-grade to the spino focusing more on self buffs and AEO debuff zones rather than brute force. When you're getting swarmed by ravagers, nameless ore various other dinos all at once, Deinocheirus and his spore infused tail swing are going to be your best friends. Passive gentle giant, Deinocheirus will be roaming the various lakes and rivers of both the green and blue zone in the wild. Just try not to be around when it eats the wrong mushroom, it might very well turn you into red mist. If you want to tame one you will have to bypass it's strong immune system by using nameless venom or else your tranq arrows/darts will afflict no torpor.

APPARENCE

Deinocheirus is going to add some fluff to aberration being almost fully feathered. The crest on it's head, the feathers on it's arms,  the bottom part of it's neck and tail are going to be the Bio luminescent parts. Standing at spino size, the feathers of it's underbelly are longer and dangle from side to side when walking. Main colors vary grately however it's the bioluminescent crest that is intersting here. Depending it's diet (which i will go into detail later in the ability section) the color of the head crest will change accordingly:

-Aquatic Mushroom: Fasing slowly from darck blue to white

- Aggeravic Mushroom: Fasing slowly from light green to brown

-Auric Mushroom: Fasing rapidly from light yellow to orange

-Ascerbic Mushroom: Fasing rapidly from darck purple to light magenta

-Rare Mushroom: Fasing slowly throught every color of the rainbow

This is used as a signal in the wild to dissuade potential predators. The various Colors of the crest represent the diet of Deinocheirus which allows it to use various abilities.

IN THE WILD

Deinocheirus will be found around most water sources on aberration, however spawn rates are slightly lower than that of a spino. They are passive but will fight back if threatened. They will periodically lean down and start digging with their claws and beak, while doing so they have a chance of entering a rage mode becoming agressive to anything only to come back to normal after a few moments.

TAMING

To tame Deinocheirus, you will have to bypass it's incredible immune system it developed after living with all these nasty critters found in the humid caves aberration. For that, throw out a Nameless venom while it starts digging similar to how you tame a Roll Rat. Deinocheirus will consume the venom, play a choking animation and lose the lights on it's feathers. As long as the feathers aren't lit Deinocheirus will be affected by torpor. The Nameless venom is temorary though so depending on the level of Deincheirus, you may need to deagro and repeat. Once down, feed deinocheirus Rare mushrooms for the best Taming effectiveness.

TAMED/ABILITIES

Deinocheirus has evolved specialized glands that produce a really repulsive smell to all invertebrates. Smaller ones will actively flee from Deinocheirus while bigger ones just won't agro. Deinocheirus also has a harvest bonus as well as a weight reduction to chitin, organic polymer, biotoxin and all mushrooms. His attacks deal bonus damage to all invertebrates.

Left Click - Claw swipe (main source of damage)
Right Click - Bite (harvesting)
Ctrl - Immediately consume a stack of the first mushroom in your inventory (instead of going into the inventory and force feeding), doing so will grant the CROUCH button various effects:

-Aquatic Mushroom: Tail swing propelling a cloud of the cold spores reducing the movement speed and attack speed of opponents

- Aggeravic Mushroom: Bonus damage reduction, kockback reduction and all incoming healing

-Auric Mushroom: Rage mode, each time Deinocheirus hits an opponent, it gains attack speed. Additionally, when Deinocheirus starts to run, it becomes faster with every step (similar to the Dire Bear)

-Ascerbic Mushroom: Tail swing, the initial hit inflicts torpor while the cloud of toxin that follows applies an effect that prevents torpor from going down and increases all incoming torpor.

-Rare Mushroom: Tail swing propelling a cloud of the rainbow spores found on the map, if the opponent is a wild animal it will temporairly deagro until the effect dissipates.

After any of the effects above end, the next poop of Deinocheirus will be a rich poop (slightly rainbowy). It can be used as fertilizer, put in a forge to make biotoxin or consumed (applied on the body, not eaten) as a shorter version of bug repellent.

some quick ideas

Deinocheirus

  • The clicks of the deinocheirus are one of the most terrifying things you could ever hear, just like the shoebill stork, they click their bill together creating a loud echoing sound that sends shivers through anyone’s spines.
  • They are a large herbivorous dinosaur, around the size of a spino lurking in rivers and swampy areas
  • They have a habit of storing globs of mud in their bills and spitting them out at nearby enemies slowing them down in the process, adobe bricks can be used from their inventory to increase damage.
  • Being such a large bulky creature, it harbours a significant amount of health at the cost of speed.
  • Its thick fur allows it to take less damage from attacks and even less from projectiles.
  • It could have a water buff like the spino, as they lived near swamps and damp places, however when entering waters, it covers itself with a layer of grass and mud allowing it to camouflage.
  • Their long claws allow them to catch fish by dipping them in shallow rivers and putting them in fish baskets in their inventory.
  • In PVP it will have increased damage to structures and be useful for base raids.

Attacks:

1)  Bite: a pretty standard attack that can harvest berries from bushes, wood from trees and hide from bodies

2)  Claw swipe: a more brutal attack that causes bleed, can harvest fibre, thatch, and meat.

3)  Mud spit: spits out mud or adobe from its mouth onto oncoming threats, mud slows and does low damage and adobe doesnt slow but does good damage

4)  Bill clicks: a roar type ability where the dino will its bill together several times creating a loud and terrifying click sound, purely cosmetic.

I LOVE the Deinocheirus, I really do. And I think Ark needs more herbivors that are Therapods. But I feel like the Deinocheirus wouldn't fit too well in with Aberration. I feel like it would work REALLY well with maps like The Island, The center, Ragnarok, The Lost Island, Crystal Isles, and just more maps like that.

I understand and I want this dino in the game too but please try instead for Val or The Center to get the guy in, he'd be perfect for them especially The Center and it's older Island feel. There's a lot of way more interesting suggestions that fit the map way better but hold in there for this guy. We don't need another thing brawling with the river tyrants but it's day will come.

A sugestion,  for tame it may need a light dino as your pet to him to be calm.  If no light pet them he will attack.  That to make the tame more dificult and dinamic.  I like the idea and think this dino may go not only in abberation,  also in valguero and lost isles.

Habitat: The Deinocheirus is found near large body of waters, including the many large rivers and lakes found within Aberration. The dino never goes deep into the water but instead prefers to wade among the shallows or walk along the water bank.

Movement: The Deinocheirus is able to reach steady speeds on land and is capable of swimming at a much faster rate than other land-based dinosaurs. It is also able to descend and rise in the water similar to the andrewsarchus. With its light feathers that cover its body the deinocheirus is able to slow its descent similar to a terror bird, helpful for traversing the descent into the depths.

Wild: The Deinocheirus is a placid creature that will not engage in fights with any other creatures unless first provoked. If attacked they and all surrounding creatures deinocheirus will attack the aggressor. They will also occasionally hunt fish in the river and lakes.

Taming: The Deinocheirus is a passive tame and similar to an otter, where you have to kill and drag a fish over to the dino. The larger the fish the more taming effectiveness that will be gained. However, unlike the otter this will be much easier as the Deinocheirus is much larger and easier to spot and will not move around as much to create the pain that can come with taming on otter. The Deinocheirus are omnivores so once tamed they can feed on both fish and plants, with fish providing a greater increase in food gained.

Utilities: The Deinocheirus is able to store water in its feathers and is bill, resulting in it having a water stat similar to the survivor, which refills whenever it enters water or comes into contact with a working tap. Unlike the survivor the water level doesn't decrease over time and only drops when the Deinocheirus uses the water. Also, if the water stat reaches zero the dino won't start taking damage. One of the main uses for the deinocheirus is that they can be turned into a sprinkler in which the shake their feathers and release their stored water onto the crops. They have a range slightly larger than the best sprinkler and also create an extra 50% yield in crops. Another small use is that the survivor is able to fish of the back of the dino, and while doing so has a slight increase in quality of what you catch.

Attacks: The Deinocheirus has a basic bite, tail and claw attack that does average amounts of damage. The unique attack it has is the ability to spit out the water it stores as a sniper bullet, using some of the water. The damage for this shot can be increase by boosting the damage stat, and the amount of ammunition by increasing the water stat. If narcotics are in the Deinocheirus's inventory, then this can be mixed with the water to turn the shots into tranquiliser darts, able to knock out other creatures. A sniper scope can also be attached to the deinocheirus's saddle to allow a zoom, and also allowing for tranquilisers to be shot with a scope, unlike a rifle.

Please leave any additions or changes that you think should be made.Hypothetical_Deinocheirus.webp.1dfe48d9b4ae5c4aaf0251cfa3a5b280.webpEPZyTOEWAAIhXux.jpg.7c2864ec60c2229ff09c8b6b235102f0.jpgdeinocheirus_mirificus_by_illustratedmenagerie_dd4xmcp-pre.jpg.f3a4a2c0289bea5fbee9fee73aa12262.jpg

Hello, everyone! I'm back for another creature submission x3

Now, here me out on this one. I originally was gonna use Deinocheirus for Scorched Earth as a more brutish Morellatops, but I decided Aberration would probably be a better theme for it, since it's basically swamp monster.

Now, without further ado, let's get this show on the road~!

Common Name: Deinocherius
Species: Deinocheirus Segmentus (Terrible Shredding Claw)

Time: Unknown
Diet: Omnivore
Temperament: Territorial

##Wild

Out of all the creatures I have researched, I've never seen anything like the mythical Deinocheirus. A giant, duck-faced Ornithomimosaur, and the largest species. I never thought I'd see one here, underground, in this type of environment, but it makes sense considering the Bioluminescent Zone is a perfect place for a swamp dwelling beast like this one. I've seen Deinocheirus fight Spinosaurus and Karkinos singlehandedly with almost no problem. Considering this beast is omnivorous, I'm not surprised its territorial. Those claws on the end of its long arms are like meat cleavers, and can deal with the toughest of armors, considering I've seen them make short work of a Karkinos's tough shell.

##Domesticated

I've seen tribes use Deinocheirus like a pack mule, as they can carry lots of supplies to move from place to place. Not only that, but they make travel so much easier. Those claws are perfect for defense against armored opponents, and it seems Deinocheirus are also immune to radiation, and their thick coat of downy feathers seems to protect them, and the rider, from other status effects too, like the shock from Electrophus that stalk the water ways of the Bioluminescent Forest, making them a good choice for those who want to explore the depths of this place. But, I've seen those claws used for other purposes. I've seen fishermen use Deinocheirus to gather large amounts of Prime Fish Meat from the large amounts of saber tooth salmon that populate the rivers and waterways of this place.

Overall, I want Deinocheirus to be a jack of all trades mount. Their claws can shred through natural armors with ease (making them ideal to take on Karkinos and Reapers), they can gather Prime Fish Meat, they're semi-aquatic AND they're basically immune to a lot of status effects, similar to Basilosaurus. Basically, kind of like an omnivorous Spino, in a way, so that means, they can heal from Veggie cakes...but I feel like Prime Fish Meat would be the ideal choice to tame them with. Maybe a water buff would be cool too, because I don't think they'd be very fast either.
Anyways, that's all I got for this beastie. Let me know of any thoughts or concerns you might have in the comments down below. I know this probably won't receive much love, but its always worth a shot ^^

##Domesticated

Lore and description:

Deinocheirus as a species is an odd and peculiar one. Possessing many duck like attributes while having a body structure that would leave one to assume its at the top of ecological totem pole. This creature posses powerful arm reminiscent of that of a theri while being closer in size to the rex. They use these impressive claws in combination with their impressive size and weight to deter predators away from creature they determine to be weak or their children. That's right in the ever violent world of the ARK these creatures have developed a strong sense of empathy and parental protection towards those weaker than itself, humans are also included. These creatures have a neutral temperament only affecting those that attack one of them or passive creatures in their presence. When attacking a friendly creature near them they enter a rage filled mode that increases their offensive power. They are commonly found patrolling the hostile River side of the abberation maps green zone as that is where they feed and brood.

Taming and features:

These creatures have been found to appreciate those that share a similar passion for protecting those weaker than themselves. Certain tribes have utilized this to win them over by protecting their young from carnivore attacks. This seems to be good enough for winning the parent over enough to entrust you with an egg. This egg may be than hatched into an identical copy of the parent deinocheirus, this process is repeatable, however, there is a healthy wait time in between each interaction. Once grown this creatures attributes are nothing to scoff at and it's abilities have proven useful to many a survivor. Tamed deinocheirus are breedable and have seemed to mellow out on their protective instincts when set on passive. However this is not fully removed from their genetic makeup as when in the presence of a descendant deinocheirus who is being attacked, the parent receives an affect similar to that of a megatherium and its bug killing buff. They also seem to be able to change the genetic quality of creatures being born. This is a result of a rare and unique hormone they spread into the air by ruffling their feathers. This makes it so that when a creatures mating, their offspring have an a boosted chance of getting a mutation. This is not garunteed but with how important mutations are this is no small feat. This does come at the downside of draining its food quickly.

Dossier:

The deinocheirus has certainly made us receive a little bit of a morality boost in this intense and dangerous environment. These creatures posses remarkably caring and loving characteristics for herbivores and friendly species its no surprise most of a our exploration has been one over by these massive ducks. Most of us not including Edmund, he seems to harbor a distaste for these creatures as they "Prevent him from bonding with his light pet" whatever that may mean, I'm sure it's nothing however and he's just afraid of their impressive claws, hopefully. Anyways these creatures are a valuable asset to any tribe that can win one over.

Stats and misc:

Deinocheirus has higher base health than a rex yet it's damage is a bit weaker, this is offset by its buff when protecting its newborn however. They can be brought to boss fights and would hopefully be able to become a new reliable boss killer. If you want this creature and it's impeccable parenting added to ark make sure to cast a vote its way.
