Edaphosaurus mimos - cave companion and temperature manipualtor

Suggestion

Edaphosaurus mimos

is a small creature in comparison to most of Arks critters. Being comparable to Phiomia in size (if you ignore the sail on its back) it doesn't look like much at first glance. However, this animal just like its relative, Dimetrodon, has the ability to change temperature around. Though Edaphosaurus has perfected this ability to the point where it can weaponize it.

Taming

Taming is a bit of a mix between Gacha and Moschops. First you need to walk up to Edapho and check what would it want to eat right now (that can range from raw meat and berried to stuff like tree sap and rare flowers) and drop the desired food on the ground close to the creature. It will then make its way towards the dropped items and eat them, forcing the taming bar to gain progress. Repeat a few times and you should have your own Edaphosaurus in no time.

Utility

This creature can launch heat and cold impulses around itself setting enemies on fire or slowing and freezing them respectively. This ability is especially useful in caves since heat impulse does extra damage to insects and arachnids, while the cold one downs fliers like bats, while damaging them of course. Both of these attacks also cause Purlovias to unburrow from the ground and makes them unable to pounce players and tames for a bit after that. These impulses cause such high changes to temperature of the surrounding area that anyone not affected by insulation buff could experience a quick death from hyper-/hypothermia. To assure that other Edaphosauruses or their riders don't get in this situation, Edaphos grant its rider insulation. These creatures and their riders are also completely immune to weather effects like blizzards, sandstorms or heat waves.

When they're not using any of their temperature attacks, they're able to mask their body temperature, making them unnoticable to most wild creatures.

Be wary that these folks shouldn't be used for hatching eggs like Dimetrodons. Edapho can only cause extreme heat and cold so most eggs will start losing health really fast when they're around those creatures, but eggs that require extreme temperature, like Wyvern or Rock Drakes, will hatch faster than usual. In terms of stats they have high health and decent weight. Reasonable amounts of stamina to balance their abilities a bit, but running doesn't consume any of it.

Additonal Info

- Edaphosaurus has a saddle with two seats (one on each side of the sail).

- This creatures has sexual dimorphism in the form of sail patterns.

- Its a docile omnivore.

Note
I hope you liked my idea for this creature and that I didn't make it too OP. Feel free to comment your thoughts below and your own ideas as well.
(pls don't hurt me for that Edaphosaurus art, I know I'm not the best at drawing)

Wild
Weird, but nice is how I would define Edaphosaurus florsmutus, one of the few gentle creatures in these treacherous regions, apparently they managed to adapt exceptionally well to the most vegetative areas of this environment where each being fights for its survival. In some way Edaphosaurus floramutus created a kind of symbiosis with the various desert vegetation, using its candle to regulate its body temperature, regardless this vegetarian version of Dimetrodon enables better capture of sunlight by plants, this causes some mosses and lichens grow in your body making this gentle sedentary mix with the vegetation. Furthermore, these unique plants on the creature's body produce toxins when close to other herbivores, this stimulates the release of an unpleasant pheromone that also protects Edaphosaurus floramutus from being preyed upon by local predators.

Domesticated
I never thought that in the midst of this scorching desert there could be fertile conditions for planting and growing fresh vegetables, but with Edaphosaurus floramutus it is possible! I saw many small tribes still in progress, using their Edaphosaurus to strengthen their outdoor crops, the creature manages to dissipate good afternoon sunlight into its body while part of that light reflected from its candle provides ideal conditions for the crops to grow healthy without withering and the toxins produced by the plants in the creature's skin, ward off predators from the tribe and keep greedy herbivores away from the fresh crop.

In Practice: Edaphosaurus would be a common creature on Scorched Earth, being found in almost all regions with vegetation. It would resemble a Dimetrodon, but with a smaller and flatter head, its sail would be taller and curved backwards, the length would be equal to or slightly shorter than its carnivorous counterpart and it would have some mosses and lichens along the body as well as on the head, legs , sail and tail. They could be found alone or in pairs, they are docile and curious to the point of approaching survivors who carry vegetables in their inventory. If attacked they will run away, but they don't have a high speed, they can retaliate with a weak bite if they keep being attacked and soon they will run away again (like the behavior of the dodo when attacked), but know that when you hit it, the plants on its body would induce toxins in you, draining your stamina and slowly increasing your torpor, but the worst of it is that these plants can infuse a green pheromone on you that will cause other herbivorous creatures to attack you, protecting the Edaphosaurus.

Taming: Edaphosaurus taming is the easiest thing to do in Scorched Earth (besides running away from hungry predators), if you have vegetables in your inventory, just look for an Edaphosaurus and wait for it to come to you, then just feed it (even a high level one can be tamed quickly with just a 5 serving of some vegetable), if you don't have vegetables still feed it Y plant seeds or berries.

Skills and Capabilities: Edaphosaurus isn't capable of much, it can't be ridden and has a weak bite, not being an option for combat, but it makes up for it in base defense by warding off dangerous carnivores. Its main ability is to provide a greenhouse effect to outdoor plantations, just activate the Greenhouse Sail option in the Edaphosaurus options wheel and the creature will make an animation as if it were resting, its sail (regardless of the coloration of your Edaphosaurus) would change to a blue-green hue that would increase the greenhouse effect of crops by up to 25% in a range of 5² (in relation to foundations), each additional Edaphosaurus would increase the greenhouse effect by 25% with a limit of 150% outdoors, if you intend to keep them even after having already built a greenhouse, know that your Edaphosaurus can still help a lot, providing 10% inside a greenhouse (even if you already have 300% of greenhouse effect, Edaphosaurus can exceed this limit, reaching up to 360% of greenhouse effect). Greenhouse effect, each providing 10% more.
