Ceiling Fortication( Part 2 to Base fortify)

I've liked this idea for awhile but, when building anything larger than a 1x1 things start to get pretty wonky no? One thing I noticed was you can't do a double door, as when you try to place the second door, it says it's obstructed. Mind you this wasn't with the fence foundation, it was with two foundations side by side and doorframes attached to each. Also, does it actually work as intended with double protection? Wouldn't the aoe damage from explosives still break down both walls/ceilings?

EDIT: Just watched the first part of the series, Thoroughly impressed, as I was in the process of rebuilding my main base, I will definitely be applying this technique.
