Introducing the Saltasaurus! The armored plated sauropod of the Island!

Common Name: Saltasaurus
Species Name: Saltasaurus indissolubili (Unbreakable Lizard from Salta)
Time: Late Cretaceous
Diet: Herbivore
Temperament:
Defensive

Tameable: Yes
Rideable: Yes
Utilities:
Tank, Osteoderm Shield/Barricade, Projectile Absorber

Wild:

This sauropod is considered to be a miniaturized version of the Titanosaur, and while some truth may be attributed to that, Saltasaurus definitely has some differences that makes it stand out. For one, it is quite small for a sauropod, as it is dwarfed by some of the more common ones on the Island. However, it is unusually heavy for its rather small size. This is because of their armor plating, made out of osteoderms and other hardened scales, which almost covers the entire body. Due to its very tough armor plating, it can resist impacts and bites that would injure or even kill another dinosaur.

Domesticated:

This armor covering is considered to be a double edged sword, as it makes taming more difficult, as Saltasaurus is immune to all narcotics unless hit in the areas where its armor does not cover. Despite this, it is an exceptional defender for any base, as its armor plating resists bullets and it is completely immune to the spores that launch from Plant Species X. Saltasaurus can even resist high velocity impacts from siege weaponry, like large boulders, bolts, or even rockets. Its osteoderms can even be harvested and crafted to become bone shields and barricades for additional defense, both for survivors and the base. However, it is quite vulnerable, despite its species name. Saltasaurus lacks the bulk that larger sauropods have and could easily die with consistent firing on its weakpoints, which are unfortunately are quite large.

Additional Info:

Its osteoderms seem to regenerate after being carefully peeled off by my colleagues and tribemates, as I have noticed very small bony bumps that emerge after a few days later that eventually grow to full size. They don't even feel much pain when they are peeled off. However, great care must be put into such a procedure, as a large sauropod under a mad frenzy would be catastrophic to any base, considering how heavy these animals are.

Author's Notes:

It's time for a new dossier and this time it is the Saltasaurus! The armored plated sauropod of the Island!

This sauropod is very similar to the Titanosaur, although it still has some things that make it unique. It is quite a small sauropod, as it is smaller the Diplodocus in size. However, it is rather heavy for its small size, due to its osteoderm plating and rough armor covering, which makes it highly resistant to impacts and bites. It covers most of their bodies and it is why taming it is so difficult. This is mainly due to the fact that Saltasaurus is immune to narcotics in those areas, which leads survivors to become more accurate on their shots.

Saltasaurus is an immensely good defender, as it can absorb hits quite easily due to its health and special traits, which is shared by many sauropods. However, its armored plating makes it resistant to bullets, as well as being completely immune to the spores from Plant Species X, allowing it to draw fire from its allies. In addition, it can absorb siege projectiles like ones from the Catapult or the Ballista Turrets. It can even resist some explosions for the most part. However, its plating does not cover all of its body, so it is still very vulnerable to such attacks, and well placed turret shots can easily down a Saltasaurus.

Their osteoderms can even be repurposed for human use, as these plates can be split off and crafted into bone shields and barricades. Bone shields are less durable than Metal Shields, but they are essentially free, costing very little resources. Large bone plates can even be made into barricades, where they can resist bullet shots and arrows. However, these barricades can easily shatter with rocket fire, so people must be wary of RPG users whenever they need to defend their base.

Thanks for reading!
