Cymas
Are you killing the lower level dinos off? It can be hard to find anything 25+ but killing things for respawns speeds the process up a great deal. Just kill everything in an area, move a distance away then come back and things will have respawned, hopefully at a higher level. If not, repeat the process until you do. High level wilds can be rare so it can take some patience, especially on animals that aren't super common. It took me weeks to find a max level spino on my server, was worth it though. ZaineMundo
Hi there! I'm playing ark on the Xbox one early access and I was wondering if anyone could tell me why when I play on official servers wild Dinos can vary from level 1-120 as far as I've seen wheras when I play on my own non-dedicated server I can only find Dinos at a maximum of level 34. This isn't really a massive issue for me because I can't see many advantages or disadvantages to this aside from the fact that fighting wild Dinos is never really a challenge. Is this down to the difficulty setting?
Avios
I believe so, Difficulty setting usually affects the levels of the dinos. If you can, maxing your difficulty and killing things to replace em would probably be the best on your own non-dedicated session. (I don't own Xbox, but I think it works like that, similar to the PC.)
ZaineMundo
Okay that makes sense thanks! Is there anything else that the difficulty setting affects? If it's just dino levels I think id like to increase it but if it affects the damage I take it the rate my hunger decreases I think I might leave it
Avios
I do not think so, different settings affect dino damage and food consumption if I remember correctly, the wild dinos will do slightly more damage though due to more levels into melee damage and such. RaptorKnight01
yeah the higher the level the wild dinos the safer you are to say the more damage they do so make sure you are ready for such an increase
Etihw
How do I get higher level Dino's to spawn in my single player game? All I am seeing is low lvls, mostly below lvl
D4u2s0t
Try moving into more difficult zones. If you started south, try moving north.
D4u2s0t
Be warned, you will probably die. A lot. lol I don't know how much you have played, but if you are going to wander north for the first time, I wouldn't recommend bringing anything too valuable. :-)
Marsh2907
Think the highest lvl dinos spawn in the centre of the map. Does seem random sometimes because I've seen lvl 50+ spawn down south on the coast before.
Nayte
Cranking up the difficulty will help. The server I play on is on max difficulty, and we see level 50-100 dinos constantly. Actually had a level 120 Ptera land in my base while I was feeding the pack.

Bigchevy1984
Another thing you can do is what I did on my own single player. Take a rex or a good damage dino and just start killing everything to open up new spawn slots for the dinos I killed off a lot of the brontos and pera's in the middle of the map and started seeing some more rex's and spinos popping up around the island

I think on my single player game I have 8-9 beds/sleeping bags all over the map just for this, and don't ever carry more than I need to incase I cant recover the body. Etihw
Thanks guys. I mean on my official PVp server there are lvl 100+ all over my base in the south, but I can't get that high of a level to spawn there in my single player with difficulty maxed. Does it have something to do with how many days in game have passed?
Dabala
How much difficulty level do you need to have for 120 level Dinos to spawn?
LandDragoon
difficulty 1 = level 120 Edit: To make it more clear: difficulty 4 is actually level 120 spawns, but in order to input this in your single player game, you'll have to put the slider to value '1'. SallyAnn
Difficulty effect Dino levels and loot scale, more details can be found here. As Cymas has said, if you adjust the difficulty setting on your own server then you need to kill old dinos to allow new higher levels ones to spawn. http://ark.gamepedia.com/Difficulty

It doesn't matter how many days have passed, but the longer you wait, the more wild dinosaurs will kill each other off and allow new dinos to spawn. AngelFall
Hey, Im new to ark and the forums. I was wondering if it is worth it to have higher level dinos by increasing the difficulty. All of my dinos on SP are around level 20 and I play with a low difficulty. But I dont know if I should increase the difficulty and go get new dinos. Does anyone recommend a higher difficulty?
