MONGOLARACHNE: THE WASTELAND ARACHNID
PxrpleLightning posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
THE MONGOLARACHNE Basic Info: When you think of Extinction, you usually don't think of a normal dinosaur-looking creature. Unlike most other maps, the vast majority of new creatures introduced with the Extinction map are completely different looking creatures, meaning that a new basic dinosaur creature wouldn't fit the theme of the map. Instead of a dinosaur, however, there are many other types of prehistoric animals (and bugs) that can be used as a substitution. The Mongolarachne was a large spider-like creature with unique features making it fit in with other Extinction creatures such as the Velonosaur, Gacha, and Managarmr. Wild Creature Info: The Mongolarachne is an intelligent creature living in the wastelands and relying on other creatures to weaken its prey before it hunts. Since the Mongolarachne does not want to waste energy or its life attacking things that are bigger than it, it waits for its prey to become weak enough for it to snatch it up before the other creature hunting its prey is able to kill the prey. This would obviously upset the creature hunting, however the Mongolarachne is fast enough to escape any threats before it's attacked. When the Mongolarachne is attacked, however, if it does not have any prey, it will attack back. But, if the Mongolarachne is carrying its prey, for example if it's running away with its prey after stealing food from another creature, it will not attack back, but instead it will carry its prey and run away. However, if it gets weak enough, it will drop its prey and run. The Mongolarachne will also have a damage reduction for ranged weaponry, and can be used to counter the Velonosaur. Taming Info: To tame the Mongolarachne , the player must be of low enough health while near one, and then the Mongolarachne will grab the player and start running off with them, in an attempt to bring the player to a safe place to eat. However, when the Mongolarachne finds a place to eat, if the player is carrying a creature, the Mongolarachne will begin to eat the creature that the player is carrying, giving the player time to run away. This process must be repeated until the Mongolarachne has been tamed. Tamed Ability Info: Web Shooting Like the Araneo, the Mongolarachne has the ability to shoot webs, however these webs deal damage for as long as the target is stuck. For players that are webbed, there will be a large web blocking a large portion of their screen, making their visibility sharply decrease. These webs can be cut by a sword or other melee weapon and silk is needed as ammo for the web shooting. Wall Crawling Although many other creatures can crawl up and around vertical walls and terrain, the Mongolarachne is different. When crawling on these spaces, the Mongolarachne will become hidden, making it difficult to spot for creatures that are both hostile and passive. When the Mongolarachne shoots webs or attacks, its hidden ability will wear off, making it vulnerable to being seen by enemies. This hidden ability also works on other player turrets and dinos, decreasing the range that other players turrets and dinos can detect the Mongolarachne from. Cave/Nighttime Buff When inside of a cave, or during nighttime, the Mongolarachne will gain a buff. Wild Mongolarachne cannot receive this buff since they live primarily in the wastelands where it is always daytime. This buff will decrease the amount of damage intake the Mongolarachne has, and increase the duration of the webs that the Mongolarachne shoots. Underground Burrowing Like the Purlovia, Basilisk, and a few others, the Mongolarachne has the ability to burrow underground and hide from other creatures or players. This burrowing ability can be used to store items, however when inside of this burrow, the Mongolarachne is extremely vulnerable to explosives and surprise attacks, and if attacked while in the burrow, the Mongolarachne will come out of the burrow and drop any items that are in its inventory. Let me know what you think of my creature, and vote for it if you would like to see it in Extinction! Thanks -
shoulder mount Eophrynus, the shoulder mounted bug repellent.

Eophrynus The Eophrynus is a predatory early arachnid that lived in carboniferous Europe. It was around 2.5 centimeters but my interpretation of the animal for ark would be around the size of a jerboa. In the ark world it would spawn in all the forested areas except for the Redwood, Where it will crawl on the ground among the bushes. It is a passive tame. It is tamed with a new item. The jar of ants. The jar of ants can be obtained by crafting a water jar. If the water jar is empty, it can be used on a Titanomyrma (drone or soldier) as long as its under 20 percent of its health. This will result in the Titanomyrma dissapearing and the empty jar turning into a jar of ants. With every jar of ants fed, the taming bar ofcourse goes up, until it is tamed. (When feeding a jar of ants, the jar will also disappear along with the ant. This is ofcourse not realistic but it makes the taming a little bit harder by not being able to reuse the jar and needing to craft multiple.) It is not aggressive and will run away when it notices a player. However it will attack Titanomyrma and meganeura by jumping and latching onto them and draining health. Once tamed, it can feed on spoiled meat or chitin. It can sit on the shoulder of the player. The Eophrynus can be set on a latching mode. If this mode is on (wich can be done in the settings) once it is removed from the shoulder it will be thrown by the player and any enemy player or wild/enemy tame that it hits it will latch onto. This will result in a bleeding effect that also deals torpor damage. It will un attach and return to the shoulder of its Master if it goes below half health. If it is thrown on a player it will attach to the players face. this impairs the players vision. But it can be removed similar to a leech. There is also a patrolling mode. If this is on it will wonder around and attack only wild bug animals. Since it does increased damage on bugs. Including but not limited to: the arthropleura, pulminoscorpius and araneo. This is very useful as it will keep annoying bugs away from the desired area. In this mode it can also follow and attack any nearby bugs. Now onto its main ability. In the settings there are four modes. One is the normal mode, where it will just sit on the shoulder. Two is the previously described latching and patrolling mode. The third one is the caving mode. (Not necessarily caving but it would be very useful in caves.) Once this mode is on it will act normally, until it is fed a jar of ants. After that the Eophrynus will inflict the bug reppellent effect on the player on wich it is mounted. There is a stat that can be leveled. The higher this stat is the longer the bug reppellent effect will last. this would make it very useful for caving. However there is a long cooldown for this ability that i will let the ark devs decide the length of, as i do not know what the optimal cooldown time would be. but it can also just be set on follow and aggressive, since it ofcourse does increased damage on bug creatures. (I do not own any of the pictures) -

The Mongolarchne would have two variants male and female (both ridable). for example the males would have longer limbs and would have three modes of transportation, mode one would be swinging between red wood trees and the large rock formations on the center similar to the "bog spider", the second mode would be a gliding ability were webs are attached between the legs to glide, third mode is walking/running and climbing. the females would have larger bodies and shorter but wider legs. the females would be able to climb run and walk like the males but due to being bigger they can't glide or swing instead they create webs, to either catch prey or act as a trampoline of sorts. another ability would be "web bridges" if a gap blocks them or the player they shoot one web across and walk the line, but to make it more permanent they shoot two acting as a structure for players to walk across. due to the male spiders being as large as the creature fenrir and the females being as large as a trike the web bridge can only be large enough for anything smaller then a stego to cross safely, if a large creature attempts to cross, the bridge will break under the weight. but if two bridges are joined together it might allow heavier creatures to cross if the web fluid/ oxygen allows for it. both spiders would utilize the oxygen stat for web making having a larger pool of oxygen then stamina compared to other creatures. both spider are capable of catching prey in webs similar to the net gun however for the male spider its an ability with a cool down but with the female spider its not. the male spider would more closely resemble the wolf spider were as the female spider more closely resembles a tarantula with short but thick legs to support its weigh being less agile then the male. the male spider would be tamed by using bug repellent as a way to attract it to the player allowing the player to bring it food to tame. the female on the other hand would be more difficult requiring a male spider to offer it food wether alive or dead. if the creature is dead the taming effectiveness is lower then with it alive but the struggle would be easier to offer if dead were as alive is harder especially if the creature breaks free. for spawning the male spider would spawn in caves, redwoods, and stone cliffs area. for the female spider it would spawn 1 in every cave with a lower level than ones found in redwoods or stone cliffs. this is my first time doing a creature submission any and all feedback is welcomed :)

Lunar Lycosidae are dangerous creatures, especially the females, they are bigger than the males and more dangerous, they live in the central island of the center and in the redwoods Skills:These creatures can charge a jump to jump very high when they are in the air or jump from a certain height, they can spread their legs and make a natural parachute of webs allowing them to glide for a while. Lunar Lycosidae are venomous and their bite can be lethal, their venom can also be extracted.Spiders will have 2 skill modes similar to the stegosaurus where it would have a battle mode where it would shoot web and slow the enemy and a speed mode where it would work as a A hook where she would put a web in a place and when she jumps she will be taken to that place allowing better movement from one area to another She can climb walls like any spider. Still about the battle modes, the attack mode where the spider launches webs at the enemy if this web hits enemies that are in the air, they will fall to the ground and these flying dinos are already on the ground They will not be able to take flight. Poisonous bite when biting a dinosaur, the venomous spider would apply poison to it, getting the poisoned effect that would do a little damage to it and consume a large part of its stamina. As nocturnal creatures they have night vision Like Desmodus'. all red night vision Taming: The female Lycosidae carry their young on their back the spiders are immune to torpor and too aggressive to be peacefully tamed the only way is to steal their young but how Any mother, the task will not be easy, you will have to put a cannon and shoot the spider in the face so that it falls so that its offspring can be proclaimed by the survivor The pups will stay on the survivors' backs until they reach a certain age. Extra information: males are smaller than females but more colorful When a male is tamed and a survivor is riding him if a female is found midway the male the survivor completely loses control of the creature the females are absolute Within the species. Saddles can be made at the level 55 Produced with 250 fibers, 180 leathers and 20 metals Utilities:They can be used to move easily around the map, their web can be used to trap dinos and build traps around them, this web affects large dinos with rex and its poison When extracted it can be made an antidote for spider venom, this antidote also gives an immunity bonus to other diseases. Diseases caught before taking the antidote are not cured. Spiders are nocturnal and sleep during the day, although when sleeping, getting close to steal a baby is still very difficult given the spider's almost perfect vision. Localização: They live mainly on the central island of the center in the red woods and in some abandoned buildings such as castle ruins. Common Name: Spider Species: Araneomorphus amalgotantibus Time: No Equivalent, traits begin as far as Mesozoic Era Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: I don't know where to start with Araneomorphus amalgotantibus. It has so many of the nightmare inducing traits of spiders from among many family and genus. It fires webbing like a bola spider, it spits venom like a lynx spider. It has a poisonous bite like a myriad of spiders, and can see in the dark by sensing vibrations. And to top it off, Araneomorphus is larger than an adult human! If that wasn't enough, I'm convinced that some of the caves on the island have actually been dug by Araneomorphus, but this worries me. Either Araneomorphus is a colony-spider (like ants), or there is a much larger Araneomorphus somewhere on the island. Domesticated: As long as it is kept far from arachnophobics, domesticated Araneomorphus makes an excellent guardian creature for anyone wanting to avoid killing. Their strange web-spraying behavior is also quite helpful while hunting fast, fleeing prey. They are too small to be used as mounts, however...- 1 comment
