Ichthyovenator - Phantom of the Deep
TheBuderMaster64 posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Icthyovenator, Phantom of the Deep Icthyovenator laosensis “Fish Hunter” Early Cretaceous (Aptian), Approx. 125 - 113 MYA Spawns: Red Zone waters, and Green Zone waters. Neutral until hungry A Spinosaurid from Laos with an immense appetite and wonderfully horrific, endless throat pouch to go with it. Wild: As if Baryonyx and Spinosaurus were not able to rule enough of the waterways, Icthyovenator has made its place in the ecosystem right where they have not. These spinosaurids are surprisingly placid compared to their cousin, only becoming aggressive when it comes time to feed. Should something disturb their meal, or something more appetizing show itself, Icthyovenator will quickly change course. Though it isn’t like it needs to do anything in order to catch itself something different. The strange sounds it is able to make can surely lure just about any creature, I’m convinced. Domesticated: If one can brave Valguero's treacherous rivers and overcome the prospect of setting fish into the water for Icthyovenator to snap up, they would find themselves with, probably, the best aquatic mount for traversing the many rivers and lakes of Valguero. The unique properties of the throat sac allow for a wide variety of utilities, including both solidification of liquid elements and condensing of gas! The singing also allows for the gathering of large amounts of fish meat. Combined with Icthyovenator’s speed and power, there’s very little that can challenge this steed in Valguero's deepest depths. Attacks Left click: Bite Hold right click: Start suction R: Change target creature ammo C : Spit X: Start/Stop song Ctrl: Swallow - Bite has a turnaround similar to Sarco. - Bite speed is similar to Carno. - Decent land speed, both walking and running. - Fast underwater but not agile. - Holding C can aim the spit better. Singing The Icthyovenator has a lovely bellow it is able to produce that sounds similar to a tuba mixed with an alligator’s territorial bellow. You can use X in order to start (and stop) this song, which brings you into a minigame much like the Mammoth’s. While playing, the Icthyovenator will start to lure in creatures around it. The better you play, the bigger creatures you can attract! Better songs will also slightly increase the range. When under the effects of the song, creatures become passive as if they were being lured by bee honey. Other details about their singing: - Throat lights up when singing. - Attracts wild fish, making them easier to net, trap, or kill. *Wild Icthyovenators can only lure aquatic creatures. Suction Another feature of Icthyovenator is their suction ability. This goes into their fish-slinging ability later but has other features that could come in handy. When used on fish, manta rays, angler fish, and other small creatures, the Icthyovenator sucks them up and stores them in its gullet, much like a regular fish trap (but without the spoil timer). The size (drag weight) and amount of creatures it can store are dependent on the Icthyo’s own weight stat. The Icthyo can choose to either spit out or swallow any creatures in its throat. If it swallows something with items in its inventory, the items will appear in the Icthyo’s inventory. Other details about their suction: - Can be used on dropped items and bags. - Can be used on many different liquids. - Some items and creatures sucked up can be swallowed (CTRL) for different effects. - Effects for swallowing: — Fish: Healing (similar to Argentavis). — Angler Fish: Gives angler gel. — Water: Hydrated status. — Liquid Element: Solidifies into Element Shards. — Narcotics/Biotoxin: Temporary tranquilizing bite. *Icthyo cannot swallow as many things as it can use for slinging. Effects can easily be added. - Swallowing Trilobites and Eurypterids has a higher drop rate of silica/black pearls from them but gives less Chitin. Fish Slinging Icthyovenator’s offensive capability is not to be shrugged off. With certain items and creatures available, the Icthyo is able to launch them out of its mouth as a projectile. Each projectile has a different effect. - Liquid Element: Projectile that deals DoT when hit with it. - Angler gel: Flammable, glowing puddle. Leaves target glowing. - Fish: Simple projectile. - Manta Ray: Temporary stun. - Water: High knockback projectile. - Nameless Venom: Gives rabies when directly hit, leaves puddles that can lure Rock Drakes. - Gas ball/Gas vent: Suffocating smoke grenade. - Narcotics: Tranquilizing projectile. - Players: Simple projectile. Taming To tame the Icthyovenator sounds like an easy task but, in reality, it is more challenging than you would expect. Simply grab a fish basket filled with delicious fish and wait until the Icthyovenator starts “singing”. Once it starts, release the tamed fish into the water where it is starting to lure other wild fish. The Icthyo will eat the fish and taming will progress! The amount of taming it gives depends on the species and size of the fish you give the Icthyo. Coelacanth gives the least, then Piranha, Sabertooth Salmon, and finally, Anglerfish give the most. Other details about taming: - The Icthyovenator will start to drool just before it’s about to sing so you have time to place the food. - While Icthyo is neutral when it wanders, they grow aggressive during feeding times and will quickly turn on you if you get too close. Ghillie is recommended! - Feeding Icthyo an Anglerfish will leave it glowing and confused, but satisfied! This allows you more time to get away from it. Wild: Ikrandraco is a wonder to watch in the wilds of Aberration. It has an amazing agility compared to the other fliers, thanks to its large tip chin which looks similar to a fin. The large wings allow it to fly from one plane to another with ease. Due to the radiation, the Ikrandraco has grown to almost 10 times its original size and has developed unusual characteristics. For example, the crest on the head or the protruding thin membranes on the back. The Ikrandraco can cling very well to steep cliffs with its long claws on the foreleg and hind leg and spot its prey from there. The Ikrandraco has the ability to take down the Nameless with ease. With its sharp needle-shaped teeth, it is excellent at harvesting Nameless venom. In addition, its skin is excellently camouflaged in the dark caves of Aberration by its bioluminescence. Domesticated: Anyone who tames a Ikrandraco has an excellent tame to collect food for the larger Rock Drake's to breed. The ability to cling to rocks makes it an excellent companion for exploring the world of Aberration. The Ikrandraco can also carry up to two Survivors on the saddle. The claws on the hind legs are not suitable for carrying small creatures, but still strong enough to latch on cliffs etc Abilitys: - Flying - latching on Cliffs and Structures - can move while latched - does more dmg to nameless (like the pelagornis too fish) - is immne to the poison of the mushrooms & basilisks - can carry up to 2x Survivors - Bioluminenscence Skin (basicly rideable lightpet) (Like Carcha or Rhygnio with the ammunation of a resource)

Amphicyon ingens/ the devouring beast
GoushtSlash posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive

Gigantoscorpio Willsi - The Adventurers Worst Nightmare
ViviDxOne posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Dossier: Gigantoscorpio Willsi Time: Visean age of the Carboniferous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild "Gigantoscorpio Willsi is a very intelligent and patient hunter. It buries itself under the surface sticking its tail above lying in wait for an unfortunate victim large enough to sense. That unfortunate soul will be pierced by its tail and injected with a very deadly venom that causes complete paralysis, even the biggest and meanest hunters succumb to the toxin." Domesticated "Taming Gigantoscorpio Willsi is a very delicate and careful process, I mentioned previously that it lies in wait for something large enough to sense. I myself have stood above this beast and it didn't attack. Seen as how large they are, they must take a large amount of food to stay sustained. I managed to lure a Diplodocus over to it and before I could get out of the way it attacked, nearly hitting me! Not long after, the Diplodocus collapsed, but Gigantoscorpio Willsi didn't reveal itself straight away. I noticed its head pop up briefly, it must have been looking for predators. It later dug itself out and began feasting upon the paralyzed Diplodocus. I've only seen a handful of these domesticated but from what I've heard, their toxin can be extracted and synthesized into a more potent narcotic that can be used to make darts, some tribes have even gone so far as to use the creature to tranquilize others. Asides from its powerful sedative, its just as stealthy when domesticated as it is wild being able to bury its rider with it. Its outer shell seems to cause it to have a resistance to gunfire and has even been known to defend its rider with its large pincers. Being so large, its tail has alot of range and can be used to pluck gliders out of the sky!" Gameplay: Wild Gigantoscorpio Willsi is a large creature (around the size of a Diplo/Rex) but is extremely shy, it will not come out of its buried form unless there is a paralyzed creature nearby. Before it emerges, it will check to see if any predators or humans are nearby (players can wear Ghillie). Whilst in its buried form, it has its tail revealed in a mound so you can see it slightly. Gigantoscorpio Willsi will only ever attack creatures larger than an Allosaurus like this. Taming Taming Gigantoscorpio Willsi is complicated, players must first lure it out by getting a creature paralyzed in the area either by wild or tamed creatures. Anything smaller than an Allosaurus wont suffice, including babies. Once it has paralyzed something and shows its head, there must be no carnivorous or humans (not wearing ghillie) in the area, otherwise it won't emerge to feed. The creature that has been paralyzed must have bio toxin on it, this causes Gigantoscorpio Willsi to begin losing torpidity. Depending on the level/taming multiplier, it may require more than one creature with bio toxin. After it has passed out from the bio toxin, players can feed it any form of meat. It particularly likes spoiled meat, Kibble is also extremely good! Domesticated After it has finally been tamed, a saddle can be equipped and it can be ridden! The saddle has the player situated on its head, Gigantoscorpio Willsi has some very interesting uses: It has passive resistance to gunfire, including turrets. Holding C/RAS can protect its rider by blocking line of sight from the front with its massive pincers. Left Click/RT is its basic attack, Left click/RT can be held up for a charge attack that causes both broken bones and bleed! Right Click/LT is its tails attack, this can be used to great lengths with knocking other creatures out (increasing melee damage also increases the torpidity damage). Holding Right Click/LT allows it to thrust its tail in the sky piercing flyers/gliders and dragging them down. Pressing CTRL/RB will cause it to bury allowing you to still use its tail. Pressing C/RAS whilst buried will pop its head up. Holding C/RAS cannot protect the rider. Weapons can be equipped while ridden. It is immune to the Paralysis Toxin it produces. Breeding Breeding Gigantoscorpio Willsi is also tricky and delicate, both the male and female must be buried to begin mating. When the egg is laid, it is stuck where the female was until it hatches. Stats Gigantoscorpio Willsi is slow when it comes to movement but is quick with its attacks, it deals significant damage with its left click attack but deals piercing (goes through armor) damage with its tail, albeit weaker than the left click. It is somewhat tanky and can be used as a turret sponge because of the resistance to gunfire.
