  1. I'm just curious! What does the ARK Forum think about the newest addition to ARK's roster of creatures? Feel free to grumble, gripe, and grouse all you want I personally think it's really cool. It looks amazing, with all the spikes and whatnot, and the colors look to be really cool too. Judging by just the promo picture, it's huge-much bigger than a rex. I just hope that it's not just another giga in terms of size, but other than that, I've got really no complaints. The abilities sound super cool too, with the tail whip (finally!) and the bloodthirstiness. Enough about me-what are your thoughts?
  2. This creature is medium sized with rough skin and 1-2 horns on its nose. Paleontologist believe it had brows above the eyes similar to the Allosaurus. The creature is a well known theropod and has been a favorite of mine for a while now. This creature generally could run 20-30 mph. The creature is commonly 1,200 pounds or 0.6 tons. It has 4 fingers and is roughly 15-19 feet tall or 4.9-6 meters. The Ceratosaurus is a carnivorous creature that mainly hunts small herbivores but would also attack larger ones such as the Triceratops. The Ceratosaurus tended to live in forests and planted areas during the late Jurassic. This would be a fun creature to be added to the Ark and could be another smaller source of keratin. Image of unreleased Ceratosaurus dossier
  3. Hey ARKers! So, right now, a tamed electrophorus is not very useful. So, this is my idea for a variant of the electrophorus-a deep sea variant. It is technically a different creature, but anyway, let's get into it! Aequor Anguillae: The deep sea eel Temperament: Highly Aggressive Tameable: Yes Rideable: Yes Breedable: Yes Torpor Immune: Yes Taming Method: Passive Preferred Kibble: Superior Preferred Food: Prime fish meat Rider Weaponry: No Humans can carry: No Mutatable (important): Rarely Level 1 health: 350 Level 1 damage: 100 Wild: Aequor Anguillae is by far the oddest creature I've ever laid eyes on. It's like the unholy child of an eel and a piranha, with a weird, huge mouth and eyes set on the top of it's head. It's body is long and stretched out, much like the Electrophorus that populate the waters of the ARKs. However, upon further examination of corpses brought to me by various survivors, I have determined that Aequor is a member of the true eel family, and not a knife fish like Electrophorus. On multiple occasions, I have seen Aequors sitting stock-still in one place with the bioluminescent lures on their head tentacles activated. When a fish small enough approaches, it lunges out and swallows it whole. I've seen this done even with survivors trying to tame the beast. Aequor will never spawn in groups, as they tend to attack and kill all creatures in sight, sometimes leading to their untimely demise by Mosasaur. There is, however, one peculiar exception to this rule. Multiple Aequor will gang up on a Plesiosaur to take it down and then feast upon the carcass. Then, they go their separate ways with absolutely no signs of aggression. Even when tamed, their instincts tend to take over, and they will attack any Plesiosaurs near them, regardless if they are allied or not. If they are ridden, they will stay the path, but they will also receive a considerable boost to their bite power and to their will to live. DOMESTICATED: To domesticate this powerful creature, you must carefully swim up to it's open mouth while riding something it is cable of swallowing as it is waiting for a creature to swim too close. Before it lunges for your mount, you must dismount or risk getting eaten along with your mount. When you have fed multiple such creatures, it will begin to cautiously follow our around, during which you must feed it passively. However, if your tribe or you hit it, it will swim away, and the taming process must be restarted. After domestication, Aequor is a force to be reckoned with. Its high swim speed combined with its devastatingly sharp teeth make for a formidable foe. Capable of outswimming the fastest of megalodon, Aequor is a travel mount for those who are past the lowly Ichthyosaurs. Those sharp teeth cause a nasty gnash effect, and curve viciously, making it capable of hooking onto your mount and slowly draining it of life. Along with that, it's mouth stretches open to a terrifying extent, making it capable of swallowing creatures whole. One drawback of this creature is that the favorable mutations that are highly sought after in other creatures are exceptionally rare, almost impossible to get on these creatures. From what I gather, it's because these creatures are so secluded from other influences. They live only in the deepest oceans, so not many other creatures get to them. Weather events don't make a difference either. Abilities: Basically, this thing is an absolute beast. At level 1, it does 100 damage, which is a really big amount. It does a bleed comparable to the deinonychus. Along with this, it's fast and highly agile, making it a versatile travel mount as well. As for the swallowing ability, it's a lot like the Xiphactinus from ARK Additions. That swallow attack makes it lunges toward the target, and when it hits the target, it either swallows it whole, or latches onto it, slowly draining it's health. However, to make it more balanced, the taming process is long and difficult, and requires exact timing to avoid losing your items. if swallowed whole by a wild Aequor, you will lose all of your items (tamed Aequor do not have this ability-Pvp would be destroyed). Also, it does not have a lot of health, having maybe 350 health as a base. And, it will be very difficult to mutate these creatures. Mutations are very rare, apparently because it lives so deep down. Also, about the plesi boost. If a Plesiosaur is nearby (whether tamed or wild) the Aequor will get a buff-50% extra damage, and 50% resistance. Also, to make it not so overpowered, wild Aequor will not do bleed. When tamed, they will get something called bleed affinity with each kill. When this affinity is levelled in the radial menu, the bleed damage is introduced. With one level, 1% of the target's health over 10 seconds, and so on and so forth until it eventually gets to 10% IN FIVE SECONDS. However, this will require you to kill lots and lots of creatures, so be prepared! Also, size. The eel will only be able to seat one person, and will be just a little longer than a megalodoodle. It will be able to swallow survivors whole, so watch out for those mouths! Also, there is a sort of stance change, where the eel will lure in creatures smaller than megalodon's. This is the taming stance, basically, and it's really mostly for aesthetics. So, if there's anything I missed or anything you want me to add, comment down below. Upvote if you want the deep sea eel in the game! Happy ARKing!
  4. This is just a sort of out-of-the-blue idea, but I'll post it anyway. Enjoy WILD The Cave Lion is a menacing creature to be sure. With massive, razor sharp claws and canines stretching to over 5 inches, it's a creature that's pounced straight from a survivor's deepest nightmares. With an uncanny resistance to edged weapons, including arrows, new, inexperienced survivors don't stand a chance. Along with these terrifying qualities, these creatures appear in the wild in prides of up to 20! DOMESTICATED If you manage to find these creatures and wish to add them to your repertoire, you first need a medium to large creature that is an equal or greater level to the alpha male of the pride. The aforementioned creature must have the ability to roar. You must approach the pride of lions, and then roar without attracting their aggro. When you roar, the alpha lion will emerge into the open and roar in return. When this happens, you must either defeat the alpha lion, or lead it far away from the pride. When their alpha is defeated, the lions will scatter. However, the alpha lion has resistance to bleed, torpor, and all other negative status effects, including fear roars. After this, it is a simple matter of finding and knocking out the females of the tribe. ABILITIES The lions have two attacks. A claw attack that does knockback, and a bite attack that does a bleed. This, however, is not the main meat of the abilities. The lion has three stance modes. Regular, stealth, attack, and travel. The regular mode is just the general jaw and claw attacks. When in stealth mode, however, the lion loses the ability to do the claw attack. Instead, the lion gains the ability to do a pounce that deals massive damage, but instigates a cooldown on both the ability and a longer cooldown on the attack itself. If the creature is smaller than the lion, it will pounce on top of the creature, pinning it to the floor and tearing chunks off it, while gaining health. When in stealth mode, the lion crouches down low to the ground, and is invisible to tek sensors and turrets (including creatures in turret mode). This drains stamina very quickly, however. Regular players can spot you, and wild creatures will not aggro as well unless you touch them. Attack mode makes the lion considerably slower, but gives it a boost to damage and another attack. With this attack, the lion smashes down with both paws and does knockback to the target, as well as a status effect called "dazed", where the creature loses the ability to respond to whistle commands and cannot use special abilities and attacks. Flyers will be grounded. In travel mode, the lion can only do the jaw attack without the bleed. However, it's stamina gain is considerably lowered, and it is much faster. It can jump very high, and "climb" like the deinonychus. SADDLE The lion does have a saddle. When the alpha lion is killed, it will drop a special drop called "Alpha lion pelt". This can be used to tame the alpha males of the prides. When tamed, they will lose the resistance to status effects, but retain the edged weapons resistance. The saddle can only be crafted with four lion pelt, and each alpha lion drops two. To tame the alphas, you must kill the rest of the pride, and then approach the lion with a special set of armor crafted with the lion pelt. It will not attack, instead, it will roar at you (the armor does not give any special added things-it has the same armor as ghillie; but it looks cool). Then, it is a regular passive tame, feeding and waiting. Once tamed, the lion will immediately become the alpha of your pride of lions, no matter it's level. The saddle is just a regular saddle, but instead of being mostly brown, it will sort of blend in with the lion's fur. Thanks for reading my freaking essay! I really hope that another new creature gets added. *Edit* To balance the creature a little, it would take 10% more damage from blunt attacks, i.e the ankylo, doedic, club, titano stomp, etc. *Edit2* Size idea (not the actual size of the real creature, sorry for the weird images) FYI, it wouldn't look so bear-like in the game. Actually, maybe this could be the sabertooth overhaul.
  5. I suggest adding this creature to ARK. (I can't post a topic that suggests living things to me right now, so I decided to do it here.) An extinct vampire squid that lived in the ocean 80 million years ago, the vampire squid that lives in the deep sea today is 30 cm in length, but this species that lived in the Cretaceous is extremely large, 2.4 m in length. It is estimated to be one of the largest octopus buddies in history. From the rocks collected in Haboro Town, Hokkaido in 1978, in 2011 A fossil of the lower jaw of this species was discovered, and in Haboro Town, he also discovered a fossil of the giant squid, and large cephalopods such as these were found in the ocean at that time. It is believed to have been an important food resource for large marine reptiles such as the Plesiosauria and Mosasaurus. ↑ As you can see from the image above, it is quite large compared to humans. In the game It will appear in the new DLC free map.If the DLC's free map were implemented, it will probably appear in the wide and dangerous deep sea. In ARK, I think it will be set to the same size as Ichthyosaurus. Also, it is basically a friendly creature, and when attacked, it spits ink and runs away. The ink has the effect of temporarily obscuring the eyes. This effect can be applied to players, wildlife, and tamed creatures. Tame Basically, it is a tame that you hand over a large Toro or Kibble (Kairuku Egg) as bait. Especially Kibble (Kairuku Egg) has the highest tame rate. However, it is imperative that you stay with other creatures. They are so timid in nature that they are scared and quickly run away, whether they are wild or tamed. You need to have a safe place first, then keep the tamed creatures as far away as possible, and then approach them carefully. If you get too close, you may run away quickly. Therefore, first approach carefully and then hand over the food to tame. After tame This creature specializes in escaping, so it can move faster than anyone else. It is possible to ride without a saddle, and even to spit ink. It is also possible to attach a saddle, which has a jet function and a laser beam function, which can be used by consuming the element. That is, these features are perfect for underwater PVP. If you have any other good ideas, please let us know in the comments.Thank you for taking a look at my idea.
  6. I suggest adding this creature to ARK. (I can't post a topic that suggests living things to me right now, so I decided to do it here.) A large ornithopoda dinosaur that inhabited the North American continent in the late Cretaceous of the Mesozoic era (about 77 to 75 million years ago). Like other Lambeosaurinae, it had a unique bone protrusion on the crown. In the case of Lambeosaurus, the bony processes are similar to Corythosaurus but slightly smaller and lean forward. In addition, one rod of dense bone protrudes toward the rear of the head, making it easily distinguishable from Corythosaurus. In the game It will appear in the new DLC free map.If the DLC's free map were implemented, it will probably appear in vast grasslands or forests. In ARK, this dinosaur is the same size as a Tyrannosaurus. However, despite its size, it becomes a very friendly dinosaur and will escape as soon as it is attacked. Tame Like other herbivorous dinosaurs, it's a stunning coma tame. Vegetables such as carrots, berries, and Kibble (Sarco Egg) are the main foods. In particular, Kibble (Sarco Egg) has the highest tame rate. However, the speed of recovery from coma is so fast that many anesthetics are needed. And you also need to be careful not to be attacked by other carnivores. After tame By attaching a saddle, you will be able to ride. And while you can collect wood and straw, it cuts the weight of wood and straw by as much as 75%. You can also use the same sensing features as Parasaur, but the range is twice that of Parasaur. In addition, it has good vision, so you can easily see where the enemy is. And interestingly, this dinosaur consumes a lot of stamina, but can move on two legs. The speed when walking on two legs is 1.5 times the normal speed, and the attack power is also 1.5 times the normal speed. In addition, the saddle is a two-seater and is equipped with a cannon, so you can shoot the cannon while riding. If you have any other good ideas, please let us know in the comments.Thank you for taking a look at my idea.
  7. I suggest adding this creature to ARK. (I can't post a topic that suggests living things to me right now, so I decided to do it here.) Cenozoic Neogene A type of Sabertooth belonging to the carnivorous feline family that lived in Africa, Eurasia, and North America from the middle Miocene to the late Pliocene. Some paleontologists claim to be the ancestors of Homotherium, which was widespread in Eurasia, Africa, and North America, 15 to 2 million years ago, long before the Sabertooth. With a body length of 2.5m and a height of 1.2m, it is one of the largest Sabertooths, but its head size is almost the same as that of a lion (although its width is narrower than that of a lion). It is presumed that the giant body and long fangs were used to tear and prey on the thick skin of large herbivores that coexisted with mammoths. In the game It will appear in the new DLC free map.If the DLC's free map were implemented, it probably lives in either a very large savanna or a snowy mountain area. It's also twice the size of the Sabertooth, making it even more dangerous than the Sabertooth. It is usually neutral, but when the food value drops below half, it becomes ferocious and aggressively attacks nearby animals. Of course, players, tyrannosaurus, spinosaurus, brontosaurus, etc. are also targeted. However, Wyvern (or Crystal Wyvern), Giganotosaurus, Titanosaur, mechanical creatures (Enforcer, Defense Unit, Tek Stryder, etc.), TEK creatures, aquatic creatures (Ichthyosaurus, Megalodon, etc.), Rock Drake, Reaper, Magmasaurus, Megakeron, Managarmr, And death worms are out of scope and do not attack those creatures. Tame Like other carnivores, it is a stunned coma tame that feeds on meat. Marbled meat, mutton, and meat are the main foods, but Kibble (Megalosaurus Egg) is especially effective in raising the tame. And interestingly, it's similar to Daeodon, and if you wait for the food value to reach 0, the tame rate can be tripled. In other words, if you deliberately get hungry and then feed, the tame rate will increase the most and it will be easier to tame. After tame By attaching a saddle, you can ride. And, as I mentioned earlier, when the food value drops below half, it becomes ferocious and attacks even if it is nearby, regardless of whether it is another tamed creature or a wild creature. And by violence, it is forcibly released from riding. Therefore, it requires as much food (especially meat) as Daeodon. However, while food consumption is more stable than Daeodon, it should be checked regularly to prevent it from becoming violent. You can also jump and run fast. And with regard to abilities, there are special abilities. 1. It is possible to make a restraint attack by the same jump as Utahraptor, and it is also possible to give a bleeding effect to that attack. 2. Like Direwolf, it has the ability to see the enemy's health gauge. And when the enemy escapes, it also has the ability to see where the enemy is. (Almost similar to the tame list) 3. If you defeat an enemy and prey on it (eat the enemy's corpse), you have the ability to greatly recover your stamina. This effect has a time limit of 3 minutes, but during this effect it will significantly reduce your stamina consumption. When the stamina is full, the stamina is almost consumed. 4. By howling, it has the ability to intimidate surrounding creatures. It works primarily on small and medium-sized creatures, but it's almost the same as debuffing enemies to scare them. If you have any other good ideas, please let us know in the comments.Thank you for taking a look at my idea.
  8. As a suggestion for the new map for Ark Survival Evolved, Fjordur. A boreal subspecies of an ankylosaurid with a battle axe like tail from the tropical environment of Chile, that was discovered in 2018, would be an interesting idea for a new armoured creature in Ark. Common Name: Stegouros Species: Stegouros geliagros Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Reactive Tameable: Yes Rideable: Yes Breedable: Yes Torpidity Immune: No Taming Method: Knockout Preferred Kibble: Simple Kibble Preferred Food: Spinach Seed (Primitive Plus) Equipment: "Stegouros" Saddle (Level 47) Rider Weaponry: Yes Humans Can Carry: No https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stegouros#/media/File:Stegouros_elengassen_original_Luis_Pérez_López.jpg Wild and Subspecies The species Stegouros would normally be found in the tropical lands of Late Cretaceous Chile, however. The subspecies, Stegouros geliagros (The Roofed Tail of the Frozen Land) has adapted to the boreal and grassland environments found in Fjordur. Having small round plates running down the animal's back and forelimbs, Stegouros's main method of defense is found on its tail. The osteoderm plates that run down the sides of the animals back, end at the tail. These plates form the unique paddle shape that gives the animal its interesting feature, and is why some compare the design and use of the tail to the clubbed weapon used by Mesoamerican tribes such as the Aztecs known as a macuahuitl (a wooden club that has embedded obsidian shards - a form of melee). This tail is used by the parankylosaur (relative of euankylosaurus (ankylosaurus, euoplocephalus, nodosaurus and )) as a method of self-defence and/or for sexual display. This tail could be considered similar in concept to the use of thagomizer spines present in stegosaurids, but the plates found on Stegouros are broad in shape and along with the size of the animal and the muscles present in the tail. The swinging action would be similar to swinging a double headed axe. This means that the amount of force created by the tail could easily slice through flesh and easily cause internal bleeding. Stegouros geliagros is the largest member of its species, being more than 8 feet in length. This increase in size is due to the small amount of competition by other herbivores in its environment, which has resulted in a form of gigantism in the species. Stegouros uses its mass and size to counteract and block attacks dealt by large predators ranging from direbears, direwolves and daeodons to carnotaurus and yutyrannus. In its natural environment of Chile, Stegouros would have thrived in a tropical and lush environment with abelisaurids, sauropods and ornithischian dinosaurus and in size. Stegouros elengassen has estimated to be a third of the size of a person, and is sometimes depicted as an ankylosaurid version of a thorny devil (a lizard species that lives in Australia). S. geliagros is twice the size of its cousin and instead flourishes in a colder based landscape. This could be because this subspecies has a connection to Antarctopelta and Kunbarrasaurus, relatives to Stegouros that lived on the continents of Antarctica and Australia and are both speculated by palaeontologists to similar builds and both a similar tail designs. In this new habitat, Stegorous also has adapted to a different diet and feeding style. Stegorous has a diet consisting of moss, conifer needles, berries, and ferns and if food is harder to reach. Stegorous can use its small plate segments or scutes (this feeding method would be considered a weight and feeding disadvantage in other ankylosaurids) to lift its neck upwards to reach the branches of conifers or deciduous trees and nip away at leaves, needles or fruits (depending on the biome - benefits its diet and feeding style). This adaptive method saves the animal energy and allows it to adjust to any environment changes. The anatomy behind Stegouros's skeletal system shows how the animal had a major weak spot near its head. Unlike other ankylosaurids, Stegouros has no major osteoderm plates behind its head and neck area, but instead a majority of its armour is found in the back of the animal around the tail and legs. This speculates that the ankylosaurids method of defence is based around its blindspot near the back of the animal. This is a repellent towards being ambushed from behind by a large predator. The legs of Stegouros are stoat in shape and help allow the animal to carry the weight of its tail and the scutes along its body. These scutes range in shape, as some on the osteoderms on the sides of the animal are sharp in triangular shape, and could be compared to nodosaurids. Abilities These are our suggestions for the abilities of Stegouros: Due to the shape of the bladed plates running down the tail of Stegouros, the animal has a chance of causing a 25% major bleed effect for 30 seconds when in melee combat. This also has a 10-15% chance of applying impaled. Stegouros has an ability known as "Scuted" which results in the Stegouros lowering its movement speed but increasing the amount of damage output by nearby tames (of the same tribe) and converts damage reduction from behind to 50% and the front to also 50%. This equalises the amount of damage that is dealt on the Stegouros and improves defence. When activated the ankylosaurid stands on its hind legs and then falls down, this activates the ability for a span of 2.5. minutes. Stegouros has an alternative ability to "Scuted" called "Untapered!" which results in an increase in melee damage with the tail (by 10% every swing (can go up to a maximum of 50% increased melee damage in five swings)) and increases wood and thatch gathering with the tail. Stegouros has a 75% weight reduction towards wood and thatch in its inventory. Stegouros has a 80% damage reduction when attacked (melee and firearms) near the tail and the pelvis region. This is due to how parankylosaurids have a pelvis area that is reinforced with a thin sheet of bone that results in a "pelvis shield". Stegouros can attack with its tail or body slam into enemies using its bladed scutes that cover the side of the animal. This attack can cause a 15% impaled affect. Location Stegouros are found across Fjordur. From the conifer forests of Vannaland and Vardiland, the temperate forests and grasslands of Vardiland and the lush environments such as the swamps, beaches and tropical regions of Vanaheimr and Balheimr. They feed off of the mosses, ferns, leaves and/or needles of the conifers in temperate and boreal environments found across Fjordur. https://ark.fandom.com/wiki/Mod:Fjordur Specific locations to find Stegouros include the Broken Meadows, Lindbjord Forest, Skadifjord, Forburg, Vardiland River regions and Vanaheimr Lake regions across the map. GPORTAL ARK: Survival Evolved - Welcome to Fjordur - GPORTAL Private Server Legacy An example of a common location of this species, is the Lindbjord Forest. Feeding off of mosses and leaves of temperate plants, the Lindbjord Forest is a a location where Stegouros geliagros breed and flourish in large numbers. A recommended location to tame this unique paranylosaurus. Any suggestions and comments please reply below. These are my team's suggestions, so all credit and reference goes to them.
