Sinocalliopteryx "The Hunter Giant Compy of Aberration."
josipguic posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Common name: Sinocalliopteryx Species: Sinocalliopteryx bioluminescentis Time: Early Cretaceous Diet: Carnivorous Temperament: Agressive in packs Wild: Just like its cousin the Compsognathus, Sinocalliopteryx bioluminescentis is a pack hunter who inhabits dark areas and caves where he uses his bioluminescence in his body to walk in dark areas and to scare nameless and other creatures that do not like light when the Sinocalliopteryx provokes a strong bioluminescence in his body to scare his enemies and he has great night vision that serves to seek and stalk well to its prey and like the Troodon, its eyes can glow which some tribes see it in the darkness of Aberration with its bioluminescent skin, which the Sinocalliopteryx is described by many tribes as a large Compy because of its shape and Troodon when hunting and he goes crazy at night and it has sharp claws to kill its prey and enemies a lot. Domesticated: The Sinocalliopteryx is widely used by many tribes for very import uses. it is used to hunt an enemy human with up to 50% blood in its inventory and it can track Nameless Venom and it also has the ability to take out Lampreys and Leeches on the skin of dinosaurs and humans with its jaw and then collect the blood of leech, with its bioluminescence, tribes can go to caves and dark places to see and explore and with the strong bioluminescence it can scare Nameless and other dangerous Creatures that don't like light and is also very active at night, therefore with his strength from alone and in a pack he can kill Creatures and in a pack he can kill Creatures and in a pack he can increase incredible and powerful damage, capable of killing a Reaper King and a Rock Drake. ¿How to tame? The tame is passive, it tames just like a Carcharodontosaurus but with a camouflagee suit, you have to give it a dead or killed Dinosaur to give it one very carefully and even in 10 minutes, it is tamed. Appareance: I want the appearance to be like a big Compy a bit small like the Troodon with Bioluminescence on his body and glowing eyes when in dark places.- 3 replies

Wild: Ikrandraco is a wonder to watch in the wilds of Aberration. It has an amazing agility compared to the other fliers, thanks to its large tip chin which looks similar to a fin. The large wings allow it to fly from one plane to another with ease. Due to the radiation, the Ikrandraco has grown to almost 10 times its original size and has developed unusual characteristics. For example, the crest on the head or the protruding thin membranes on the back. The Ikrandraco can cling very well to steep cliffs with its long claws on the foreleg and hind leg and spot its prey from there. The Ikrandraco has the ability to take down the Nameless with ease. With its sharp needle-shaped teeth, it is excellent at harvesting Nameless venom. In addition, its skin is excellently camouflaged in the dark caves of Aberration by its bioluminescence. Domesticated: Anyone who tames a Ikrandraco has an excellent tame to collect food for the larger Rock Drake's to breed. The ability to cling to rocks makes it an excellent companion for exploring the world of Aberration. The Ikrandraco can also carry up to two Survivors on the saddle. The claws on the hind legs are not suitable for carrying small creatures, but still strong enough to latch on cliffs etc Abilitys: - Flying - latching on Cliffs and Structures - can move while latched - does more dmg to nameless (like the pelagornis too fish) - is immne to the poison of the mushrooms & basilisks - can carry up to 2x Survivors - Bioluminenscence Skin (basicly rideable lightpet) (Like Carcha or Rhygnio with the ammunation of a resource)

Preamble: Azhdarchid Pterosaurs were weird. In the sixites or so it was believed that, just like modern bats, pterosaurs were helpless on the ground, so these giants must have spent their whole lives in the sky, and this is how the Quetzal is presented in the game. But they were wrong. Azhdarchids were a groundborne nightmare, a giant slenderman of a pterosaur, with a head bigger than their body, stalking the land for anything small enough to swallow whole. And as they could grow to the size of a giraffe, that was quite a lot of things. (Art source: Spuno on deviantart, https://www.deviantart.com/spuno/art/Quetz-Forest-937672488) Now, as far as we know no azhdarchid was flighless. But imagining one is a common paleoart trope, and would fit quite well into the mutated caverns of the Aberration. I went for Arambourgiania as it is the tallest, with the most extreme proportions. Also it is only known from neck vertebra, so it is not unreasonable to be very speculative. Playing up the spooky atmosphere even more, I would like to combine this with a rather obscure cryptid called the Van Meter Visitor - A large bat or pterosaur with a glowing horn that terrorised the town of Van Meter, Iowa, for a few weeks in 1903. In the end they organised a posse and tracked the creature down to an abandoned coal mine - Where they spotted it with a smaller individual, probably mate or offspring. After being disturbed, they fled into the dephts of the earth, never to be seen again. (I think you see why I think this one fits onto Ab so much) One of many interpretations of the Van Meter Visitor. While this is one of the more common illustrations used, I'm not sure who the artist is; The earliest link takes me to a deviantart page that no longer exists. Even the art is a cryptid! Creature Concept: About the same footprint as a Paracer, but more than twice as tall, these giants stalk the darkness of the blue and red zones, the light emitted by their hornbill-like crest promising a brief respite from the Nameless onslaugt. But nothing is free in these caves, and many survivors have approached the light only to be promptly eaten and killed by their savior. But should you succeed in taming one, it makes for an excellent living lightpole to keep your bases safe or bring otters in caves, and it can use its light for long-range signalling. Stats: Despite its size Arambourgiania is a glass cannon, weaker than the usual boss creatures. Wild: Spawns mainly in the blue zone, but more rarely in red. Wilds are hostile to small creatures, neutral to large ones. Though they will prefer any Nameless or Reapers they see over tames. (getting themselves wrecked in the latter case) Taming: There's no shame in using vanilla taming methods now and again. But if I have to pick something more creative, luring Nameless to them to eat might be fun and not too annoying. Mobility: Jump and a weak glide, more like a Deinonychus or Terror Bird than a drake. Wing-assisted climbing to get up steep hills, but not vertical walls. Initially slow, but gathers speed like a rhino. Decent underwater speed with its little wing stubs. Would be nice to have an underwater light that's not as flimsy as an anglerfish. Can move in any direction and turn on the spot. Double-tap directional keys for a short dash. Changes direction when gliding. This mobility is needed for... Combat: Chargeup peck attack. While immensely powerful, it attacks far away from the main body, requiring skill to get the max out of it. At max charge, unleash a chaotic flurry of pecks that causes something like a localised earthquake, disorienting survivors, disloging climbing picks, etc. A stab using its underdeveloped, blade-like wing fingers. Doesn't cause much damage, but knocks back enemies as an emergency. Picks up decently sized creatures in its beak, with an attack to shake them to death. Against small wilds, this instantly kills and harvests them, with a swallowing animation. Including nameless. Against small tames and players, it instead has to do an animation where it fights back, which can be interrupted by a headshot, dropping the creature and disbling the attack for a while. A turret mode of sorts, where it will always return to its starting position. Not that it needs to move much with the massive range of its neck. Can grab fliers, and mode to jump at and snag enemy fliers in turret mode. Utility: Using a whistle while riding makes it play morse code on its light - massively extending whistle range. For those bigger boss fights... Light is always on, and drains stamina to supress. Radiation immune. No oxygen stat. All-purpose rock harvester, but not as good as the more specialised Doed or Anky. Roles: Base lighting and Security. Pack counter. Excentric choice for travelling and fighting. Caves and the Bossfight without needing a light pet. So you can bring otters into the Ab caves, and nobody has to endure the loss of their lightpet by accidentally dropping them during the bossfight. (RIP Alfonse. And Alfonse II.) Here, have another picture of random azhdarchids being unnerving: (I love them) Sources: Arambourgiania on wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arambourgiania Van Meter Visitor on Cryptid Wiki, LOL https://cryptidz.fandom.com/wiki/Van_Meter_Visitor (Paleontologist Darren Naish famously described fellow azhdarchid Hatzegopterix as "a shoebill stork crossed with the terminator") I'm not the best artist as you might guess from my illustration choices, but I might try my hand at some photoshopping over the weekend. Who knows.

Original Species (Indosuchus Raptorius) not my drawing Dossier Species: Indosuchus Diablovenator Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive (especially to Nameless) Wild: I have noticed that much of the prehistoric wildlife in these caverns are pretty aberrant compared to the prehistoric wildlife I encountered on the island and desert with them most notably glowing in the dark but one dino stands out from the rest, Indosuchus Diablovenator, for one I did not encounter it on the previous space stations and secondly it seems more derived than the other prehistoric creatures with numerous adaptations for dwelling in these caverns. Firstly Indosuchus is capable of swimming on the surface of molten element allowing it to escape many dangerous situations as other creatures can't dwell in molten element without getting hurt, secondly, Indosuchus has a corrosive breath that burns the skin of anything that comes into contact with the breath. Most creatures run away from Indosuchus when they come face to face with its breath but Nameless aren't one of them, in order to deter them Indosuchus will go out of its way to consume charge light emitting creatures and certain bioluminescent plant seeds & fruits to turn its corrosive breath into a glowing corrosive breath capable of blinding adversaries who have the misfortune of being in its way. Domesticated: Indosuchus Diablovenator is an incredibly popular creature for survivors to tame due to its ability to traverse the deepest parts of the caverns and its anti-nameless breath. One should note that taming Indosuchus can prove to be a bit difficult as it seems only Nameless venom will pacify them into being tamed. On its anti-nameless breath certain survivors have trained Indosuchus to fire its breath in multiple ways, the two most common ways are 1. A slow moving "breath ball" similar to how a Basilisk spits its venom and 2. A rapid-fire method where Indosuchus fires multiple diminutive but fast moving breath balls at targets, the fire-rate specifically is similar to the very advanced element rifles the group of survivors I'm with mainly use. Technical Stuff: Basic Rundown of what it can do/is. ⦁ A Medium Sized Theropod that's been upscaled a bit to the size of Ark's Baryonyx. ⦁ It is capable of swimming on the surface of molten element and is immune to radiation, emphasis on the surface of molten element. ⦁ It has a breath attack where it spews a corrosive gas like a flamethrower that deals damage and that's kind it. ⦁ If it kills a charge light-emitting creature or consumes a Plant Species Z seed or fruit it's breath attack gets the ability to blind enemies (similar to how Plant Z Fruit flashbang stuff) after a while of using the breath attack on them. However, after a few minutes or so the buff will go away. When buffed the breath attacks will do extra damage to Nameless and Reapers ⦁ Once tamed you can use the breath (buffed or not) in multiple different modes not just the flamethrower-like mode. ⦁ The first new firing mode similar to the Basilisk's spit in that it fires a ball of corrosive gas, it will instantly flashbang enemies if buffed however the ball is slow moving. ⦁ The Second Mode is similar in fire rate to a Tek Rifle, unlike the first mode if buffed the breath attacks will not instantly flashbang enemies instead you need to do several shots to the head of your enemies in order to blind them. ⦁ If you use too much of the charge breath will buffed you will get out of the buff early regardless of mode so don't just spam. ⦁ In order to tame it you must knock it unconscious the usual style then feed it Nameless Venom.
