APPEARANCE: One of the smallest pterosaurs ever discovered, Nyctosaurus has a wingspan of around 1 meter. Its main feature is the huge horn on its head, which it uses to masterfully stabilize its flights. WILD: Nyctosaurus live in the quieter parts of the aberration. They adapted well to life by fishing in the rivers that cross the environment. They are quite skittish, flee from confrontations, and make their nests in the highest trees of the aberration, avoiding contact with wildlife and players. DOMESTICATED: Nyctosaurus are much used by the bravest explorers of the ark. In addition to offering protection from the dangers of the aberration through the light that its huge horn emits, its ability to serve as a receiving antenna with various functions makes it much easier to explore the map and tame creatures. SKILLS: Nyctosaurus emit light, like other aberration light creatures, thus providing protection to players who have one on their shoulder. But its main ability is linked to its horn, which is used not only for communication, but also for sending and receiving items. While the fjordhawk has the ability to collect the player's inventory when he dies and bring it to him, the Nyctosaurus has the ability to send items from one Nyctosaurus to another, thus facilitating locomotion and minimizing the losses of players when they find some rare item. HOW IT WORKS: For communication to work, the tribe must have at least 2 Nyctosaurus in possession. With 2 Nyctosaurus facing each other, players must sync with each other, basically the same process as syncing the stryder with the dedicated box. Once synchronized, both Nyctosaurus create a communication "channel", which can be named by players to facilitate sending and receiving through it. Once this is done, the 2 Nyctosaurus are able to send and receive items with each other. To do this, players just need to place the items they want to send to the other Nyctosaurus in the inventory, and in the creature's options, select send and then select which channel. Once that's done, Nyctosaurus will start a counter, time I can't say, but I think something like 10 seconds or so, and then it will send the items from its inventory through the selected channel. When sending, the items will appear in the receiving Nyctosaurus' inventory, and it will squawk and flap its wings to let you know it has received the items. This facilitates exploration of the map, allowing players who are in dangerous zones to send what they have collected to the base, and receive items that can help them in exploration, in addition to taming. Nowadays it is very frustrating when you go out to gather resources and find a wonderful wild creature that you would like to tame, but you have no items with you. Then you go back to the base, get supplies, and go back to tame the creature, which has already been killed by another being in the ark or even tamed by another tribe in the ark. This is a way to avoid losing the tame you want for your tribe. The uses are many, and can also be used in the middle of a base Raid, helping to send ammunition and resources to war, in addition to being able to quickly send what you managed to steal from the enemy to protect your tribe. NOTE: It is only possible to send bps and already crafted or cooked items via Nyctosaurus's radio, resources cannot be sent this way. In addition to sending and receiving items, it can also be used by the tribe to know where its members are, as they appear on the map of all tribe members. DOMESTICATION: To tame a Nyctosaurus, the player will need a radio, as well as fish baskets with fish inside positioned in the last position of the player's hotbar. When the player has collected enough fish for taming, he must enter the water without any type of armor, as they scare the Nyctosaurus. Once this is done, the player must set the frequency on the radio that will be used to attract the desired Nyctosaurus. The frequency will always be the level of the Nyctosaurus you want to attract (example: if the Nyctosaurus level is 150, the frequency will be 0150, if it is level 20, it will be 0020, and so on). Detail, the Nyctosaurus must be within the range of the player's vision, you cannot simply put the frequency of level 150 and wait for one to appear. Synchronizing the Nyctosaurus level with the radio, the player must then dive and become submerged, while making sounds through the radio. The quieter the sounds, the more likely they are to attract the Nyctosaurus's attention. We advise you to whisper or hum something quiet. Loud and aggressive sounds will make only Nyctosaurus move away from the player, so be careful. If the player emits a sound that attracts the Nyctosaurus, a question mark will appear over its head, and it will approach, and fly over the water where the player is immersed. The player must continue emitting the sounds until the Nyctosaurus dives into the water and consumes the fish that is inside the fish basket positioned on the player's hotbar. Once the Nyctosaurus has fed, the taming process will begin. Just repeat the process until the Nyctosaurus is tamed. NOTE: If the player climbs out of the water while the Nyctosaurus is nearby, it will startle and run away. You have to stay submerged while he's around. When he feeds and moves away, the player can then go outside to catch his breath and stamina. It is advisable to have a tamed diplocaulus close by, to facilitate the process and avoid having to get out of the water to avoid loss of taming. An important detail: if Nyctosaurus sees the player out of the water during the taming process, the taming will reset, and not lose its effectiveness. The taming effectiveness is based on the quality of the fish, just like Shadowmane taming.
